Nah, insta down stuff isn't all that threatening. Maybe for newer and more casual Survivors, but denying Michael stalking as much as possible, spreading out when in T3, don't swarm hooks if he's in T3 and looping well enough can counter him pretty well. Doubly so on bigger maps pr maps with plenty of pallets.

The only real threat Michael has is Tombstone Piece, which he can't just kill someone right away in the early game, everything else is just middle of the road for him. If he has Infinite T3, don't heal, spread out...like he can put pressure out, but it requires ya'll feeding him stalk and making risky plays while he's in T3.

Like he isn't outright garbage but he's very situational and ot as reliable or threatening against decent Survivors...playing against too reckless and too casual/new players is what people rank Killers up to in regards to their Tier placement.

I understand all this and that's why I don't consider him a strong killer. My point was his endgame can guarentee kills purely on just his base kit. This exact scenario that played out in this game pretty much no other killer on the roster would have been able to turn this into a 4k. Maybe Leatherface with his chainsaw. I don't think a killer can that can turn a 0 or 1k into a 3 or 4k within seconds at a 99d exit gate is worst or bottom of the barrel like many say.

  • @Brimp said:

Yeah but you're banking on those 2 survivors near the exit gate to already not be full stalk... gimmicky scenario does not make a killer not bottom 5.

I'd say most of my games I rarely fully juice survivors out of stalk for this exact purpose.

I'm not expecting things to change hugely tbh, I think QoL will be improved for our solo queue players, I don't think it will impact the kill rates too much however. We will of course be monitoring and seeing how much it impacts and whether changes would need to be made, on either side - as we always do.

Maps need to be looked into badly. I'm hoping at some point what's being done with Eryie is gonna be looked at with other bad maps like Badham, Mothers Dwelling, Garden of Joy ect...

I think today was the day for me 0/10. I played during off hours, and every match I got a mix of newish teammates and/or killers prepped for a 4 man on comms sweat squad.

    Today was not my day.

Me and my buddy played together one night as a 2 man. I think we died 10-12 games in a row. Lots of games there was still 3 or more gens left. It was atrocious.

  • I don't start tunneling or camping until 2 or less gens are left and no one's dead. If any survivors give you crap for this they are literally just expecting you to let them win easy.

  • @Krazzik said:

The idea is that you shouldn't get revealed very often. Which is very hard to do to be fair, I've never been good as Ghostie and with how janky the revealing mechanic is, it only makes it harder. Seriously you can be revealed by someone on the other side of the map sometimes, but when I'm survivor and staring directly at him, nothing happens :(

And yes when I'm playing Ghostie I'll try and be sneaky and stalk people but after I get revealed the third or fourth time I just play normal m1 killer for the remainder of the match. He's not very fun and it sucks.

Glad someone agrees with me. He definitely sucks.

I remember how annoying it was to outplay a nemesis in a loop just to get rekt by one of his AI zombies(I know it's incosistent but when it happens u feel like you've lost to the AI not the killer)

Now, they made a killer which relies on the CPU to kill you or pressure you lmao, lemme just corner a survivor somwhere in the map and activate the brainless AI power that does everything for me and sandwich the survivor for a a free down, amazing skillful power indeed.

His guards suck ass. They are slow and you can hold forward away from them.

  • Oh god this reminds of toxic TTVs who accuse everyone who plays killer of sniping just because they see their aura from BBQ lol

  • @TigerSnake said:

BHVR's gonna have to do far more than just 90 second gens and 2.5% progress loss on kicks if they want slowdown to be less mandatory for killer.

They need to stop adding perks that speed up gens for starters.

  • @Mockingjay_S451 said:

Don’t all killers move faster than survivors? Don’t you just keep running after them and then also get bloodlust?

Yeah because that doesn't waste any time for 2 or 3 gens to get done. Lmao

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/359491/eruption-seriously-what-about-hyperfocus-stake-out

Funny, i reduced playing (solo)survivor and play way more killer, because i feel its less stressfull...

Also i dont run slowdown perks, but i got a killer i feel really good with and manage to get good results.

But to be fair, my games are very binary, i either stomp the survivors for a 3/4k with 1-3 gens left, or i get stomped with 4-6 hooks, depending on swf, map, and rng (my mainkiller is dredge, and he depends very much on locker placement around the map).

There are certain times of the day where the games are more fun and less sweat. But last night I had 6 or 7 killer games in a row that were all extreme gen rush games and it was complete BS. Not fun, just pure stress and sweat. I had enough of it.

  • Let me add one more thing. The main reason they can't balance gens is because 90%of their maps are garbage and survivor sided. To big, to many pallets, to many safe loops, to strong windows and structures.

  • Bullcrap no one uses Hyperfocus I see it in multiple games every day. And like I said when I don't see it it's toolboxes with overpowered add ons like BNP and prove thyself on top. Maybe killers wouldn't bring annoying slow downs every game if gen speed was balanced. If I could go for chases and hooks without worrying about blasted gens in 4-6 minutes I'd never bring another slowdown again. And I'm sure many killers agree and would do the same. But the devs can't balance gens.

  • @TigerSnake said:

Honestly, Hyperfocus Stake Out combo isn't that strong IMHO. It relies on skill checks appearing (which despite Hyperfocus increasing the frequency of them appearing as you get more stacks, they sometimes still take forever to pop up), the user able to hit the greats (harder than it seems, especially as the cursor moves faster), and Stake Out requiring setup in order for you to more reliably stack on more progress with Hyperfocus. Only issue it really has is when a toolbox is involved with it, as toolboxes increase the chance of skill checks appearing and BNP skill checks count towards Hyperfocus, so if I'd change anything on it, just make the perk not work when repairing with a toolbox.

In my experience playing survivor when using the combo its pretty strong. You get stake out stacks pretty consistently. And the skill checks come more frequently as you get more hyperfocus stacks. You can absolutely murder a generator on your own.

  • Killer is a joke in this game. I will play a couple games and immediately switch to survivor so I don't have to deal with the plethora of bullshit. Maps suck, outside of 3 or 4 killers they all suck and have no answer for the busted maps and bloated amount of pallets. They need to nerf Nurse and Blight and reduce the amount of pallets on all the maps significantly for any high mmr or competent killer to have fun in this game. Camping and tunneling is the way to go and it's boring as hell to play that way and I dont like ruining others fun but the game just sucks now.

  • Maps and the lack of going for chases because the generators will get done to fast if you commit to chases. Maps have to many safe areas and to many pallets. Chases are trash and very survivor sided against 90% of the killer roster.

  • @RakimSockem said:

So remember back when there was this big hoopla about how 40 perks were being changed and this was supposed to shake up the meta and make different playstyles come to light.....

Yeah that happened on the survivor side, but the killer meta changed very little (if at all).

95% of my games yesterday against various killers were "Eruption, Call of Brine, Pain Res, + insert aura reading perk here". Now while you can argue that "technically" it's a meta change because Eruption wasn't used before the buff, it has the same affect as the old meta perks so the playstyle is the same, except more boring now because killers break chase every 15 seconds to kick a gen.

Meanwhile when I look at survivor perks in most games, there's a huge variety of perks being used and different playstyles at play. Some people go for extreme healing builds. Some go for gen rush (I find those boring), some go for stealth, while a few stick with the old meta (Dead hard, CoH, etc)

So I would love to see an ACTUAL change to killer meta perks to the point where I don't have to run into the same boring perks 30 games in a row

When the devs fix busted maps and gen speed. That's when the killer meta will change. So long as one 1 minute chase can result in 3 gens being done enjoy the brine, eruption junk.

  • @brokedownpalace said:

"Killers don't want to use these gen blocking or regressing perks"

No, I really think a lot them do.

I don't like using them because it feels cheap. But if I don't use them I basically aiming for a 2k because the gens are GONE.

  • @Sycamore said:

They should add an instant kill animation for Myers pulling a survivor from a locker. How much more unrealistic can this game get 🤣

He should grab them out of the locker and close the locker door then pin them up against the locker with the knife.

  • @Janeliet_Romeo said:

Why would it not be addressed? We’ve been getting so many balance changes lately to both survivors and killers, but the most unbalanced thing in the game has not been addressed. I don’t see why that should stay that way. As a killer, playing against 4 solo survivors is completely different than playing against a 4man swf

Agree with you 100% but nothing will ever be done about. Playing against a swfs is easily the most frustrating unfun part of the game. I'd rather be hard tunneled 10 survivor matches in a row then face 1 gen rushing perk stacked swf.

  • @Veinslay said:

Why is he a ton of fun to play against compared to any other killer? Cause his power is telegraphed so much?

Because you can hold W, his power stinks, and his map pressurs stinks so you can blast gens. That's what survivor mains love about facing him.

  • I agree to an extent about the gens. If the killer doesn't have a single hook by the time 3 or 4 gens are done there's basically no reason to continue rushing as the killer has basically lost. Depends on what killer is being used but if the killer is playing Nurse, Blight, Spirit, Oni, or someone else and has no hooks chances are they are new at the game or new at those characters and theres no real worry that they will slug everyone.

Nah dude, you're wrong. If you didn't bring any antigen perks, then gens would be done in 8-10 minutes. It's your fault for bringing sweaty anti-gen perks and forcing survs to tryhard on gens! /s

I know your being sarcastic lol but I have a YouTube video explaining my whole issue with the fast gens I just posted it a couple nights ago. I was super tilted because I brought a full chase build and the gens were done in I think 4 minutes and 20 seconds or something ridiculous like that. So I was forced to camp and tunnel cuz I had no other play if I wanted at last 1 kill.

  • The fact that 3-4 gens can still be done before the killer gets a down is why this game is a joke. It's also why SBMM being this game is laughable.

  • @Brimp said:

Or rather... killers being incentivized to camp from the amount of 2nd chances survivors now have ONTOP of exhaustion perks.

Don't forget all the pallets and safe loops on the map that most killers can't do anything about.

  • @Sava18 said:

Damn the opposite happens to me. Pretty much anytime between 12AM-5AM I can expect full meta survivors with 3-4 medkits some with styptics and the chance that they dc is low. I don't mind sweat, ill just match it.

    What time zone are you?

  • @Regulus47 said:

A good fix would be making it so when the killer hooks someone they teleport to a hook far away so it's harder to camp. Like pyramid head's cages.

Except at end game. They killer should be allowed to camp or try to protect a kill at the end. Knowing how DBD works the rng will teleport the survivor to a hook right next to an open gate for a free escape.

  • @ByeByeQ said:

    How about NO.

The Nurse exists. And she can stomp with this perk in its current form already so they cannot buff it.

See this is complete BS because I agree with you on Nurse but God this is getting annoying how all the weaker killers get shafted because of Nurse. This would be a beatiful perk for M1 killers BUT NO NURSE.

  • I don't think it's bugged. They just have zero clue on how to design a map that is fair to killers. The last few maps have been a complete joke and survivor sided nonsense.

  • He's god awful. Play Myers and stay in tier 2 all game, don't use tier 3. That's what this killer is. M1 killer with a power that absolutely sucks. I've been getting trolled by survivors all night using this killer. I even see survivors running into the guard territory on purpose and not getting hit. Total sham. Run in a straight line, no anti loop because the survivors just run away from the loop. No counter for pallet looping . Garbage.

  • He's complete trash. I just had a game where the survivors just ran straight all game and I couldn't do anything. I'm a tier 2 Myers the entire game with this killer. His guards do absolutely jack, very easy to counter.

  • To be fair they actually loop the t and l walls pretty good lol

  • @CBT137 said:

the killers aura cannot be read if they are undetectable.

Ok so tier 1 which is the first 30 seconds of the game if you're playing Myers correctly. When he's in tier 2 he's not undetectable.

  • Fogwise is going to hurt Myers even more. Like he needed more difficulty.

  • DH is fine as it is. I'm just grateful they changed it to what it is now. I was on the verge of quitting this game seeing 3 to 4 dead hard uncounterable for distance every game screwing me out of downs.

  • I agree it would be cool if they had like an easy, medium, hard difficulty of the bots. Maybe on hard they try to rush gens and have a tendency to predrop pallets or something to that degree. But I'll take anything with the bots right now. When I have challenges and tomes to do I'll play public, when I wanna chill play vs bots.

  • Dying Light. The gen speed penalty should count for the obsession to. They can keep the healing and unhooking speed. I think it's stupid and makes the perk crap because the obsession isn't effected by the slowdown.

  • @Ghouled_Mojo said:

I hate the new Haddonfield. I preferred the old one for either role. It’s ######### horrible

Please god no the old Haddonfield was a million times worse. The fences alone and the damn house of pain with the open windows.

  • The meat plant is pathetic. I chased one person on purpose once to see how long it would take to down them. 5 pallets for first hit. All god pallets. 4 more pallets to down them. As I picked the survivor up the 4th gen went off. I threw the game on purpose because I was just curious to see if 1 survivor could just throw down god pallets all game and have all 5 gens pop, almost!

  • I hate Map offerings and think they should be gone to BUT scratched mirror Myers would die and that would be bad.

  • I don't mind DH anymore as a killer main. At least I feel like I got outplayed when they time it right now. As opposed to that uncountable DH for distance bullshit to pallets and windows of the old DH.

  • @CookieBaws said:

He need a power cooldown after a succesfull hit. Because people just cheese cloak speed and you have to be near safe pallet or tile to actually counter him.

That's a part of what makes him decent. That's like saying a Myers is annoying because pops tier 3 when he's directly behind you. Thats how you have to play the character to get the most value of their power.

  • @Kirahie said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3257431#Comment_3257431

Yeah, theirs nothing to get better when their are 10 linked loops all with God pallets and a true infinite thrown in for funsies.

Fix the maps and people won't feel hopeless.

Yup this is it right here. I had to start making a rule of, more then 1 pallet without a hit leave and chase someone else. That is so BORING! Especially when each survivor you engage chase with runs to safe pallets. Your only chance is to create a few dead zones and eat pallets to the head so you can start playing with 1 or 2 gens left. It's absurd.

  • Solo Q games are either a good team that actually does gens or complete slaughter fest where 2 gens max get done before everyone's dead.

Killer is frustrating because the maps are unbalanced and annoying as hell. To many pallets and survivors have gotten to good at the game and know how to run you for ages. I know all the killer tricks. Moonwalk to hide the red glow, double back, fake one way fake the other way and go back the other way again. And against good survivors none of it works.

  • @Brimp said:

Yeah dude just chase the first survivor that will pre drop most pallets/live at a main building, realize you need to leave, then have the next survivor and so on do the same exact thing.

    Yup

  • @Mastapalidin said:

I know what you're talking about, you hit them once and they miraculously find pallet after pallet to save them every single time. By the time you down them 2-3 gens are gone, and if you chase somebody else they just pre-run to some super safe structure. The way M1 killers are now and the way these maps are.. this game is indeed a lost cause.

Pretty much this. It's just EXHAUSTING to play like this. I thought games are supposed to be fun lmao

  • @Veinslay said:

Just learn how to pressure gens bro! You got a massive buff in 6.1.0 in the form of .2 second faster pallet breaking and weapon cooldown. You should be 4king easy every game!!!

    Haha I enjoyed this.

  • @Roaroftime said:

Killer is now easy mode, you're being handed 4k's thanks to the hundreds of survivor nerfs and thousands of killer buffs including rapid pallet destroying perfect for the game map. Skill issue.

You mean the 30 pallets all within 10-15 meters of eachother lol.

  • @Sweet_Potato said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3248816#Comment_3248816

    Haddonfield.

Except two buildings with strong windows this map is usually pretty unstacked and survivors can't do much besides holding W into nothing.

You will never see Badham in usual map rotation unless you bring a map offering. Those maps have a chance of like less than 1% each.

Game is survivor sided only against certain killers. It's pretty much killer sided against Nurse and stealth killers.

Garden of Joy is survivor sided, yes.

Eyrie is balanced, cuz there is ALWAYS a 3gen around main building. I got a 4 k with Bubba there literally yesterday with first hook at 2 gens left (but 3 of them were in/around main building...)

RPD is not survivor sided against stealth killers.

Cowshed, Gas Heaven and Groaning Storehouse are pretty survivor sided, yes. Groaning Storehouse is very RNG dependend however and can be balanced or even killer sided if you only get pallet gyms, 4 lanes, TLs and new crap tiles.

Ironworks, Mother's Dwelling and Grey Panties (if survivors know how to play it) are other survivor sided maps.

Sanctum of Wrath is killer sided. Every map is Nurse sided except Lery's and RPD.

However. Even on most survivor sided maps I've seen such crap door spawns, with literally 0 chance of winning if killer knows how to play door game properly.

Eyrie is not balanced. It has tons of pallets, lots of the are safe and the map is HUGE!

1 … 4 5 6 7 8 … 13
