No idea killer is miserable now unless you play toptiers. Survivors gen rush and rush. I almost have stopped playing killer even soloQ is better.

It really is miserable. If you play any M1 killer this game is just a mess now. And when they do gen rush you now which almost every game you can't even catch them at endgame because they are using MFT and Hope. It's hard to even catch up to them with that busted ass combo.

  • @Pulsar said:

I'm not really having many issues with it.

Most Killer powers aren't meaningfully impacted by it.

Rather than nerf a genuinely strong and interesting perk, perhaps we should buff those Killers.

I agree with this. However when it's stacked with Hope it's legit broken. With a 115% killers it takes the entire length of a map to catch up to them sometimes. They should not stack.

  • In my opinion it doesn't need a straight nerf but it should not stack with Hope. That is totally broken. It's hard to even catch up to survivors with a 115% killer when this happens. Had it happen to me last night with 3 survivors at end game. They were all yoyoing perfectly and literally couldn't touch anyone of them. Felt like legal cheats. Horrible experience going against that.

  • Teamwork is what kills every killer in this game except Nurse and in some cases Blight. All the killers are weak vs good teams minus a few.

Gen speeds are not fine, because unless they nerf maps so that the average chase (both hits) lasts 25 seconds, you will never have enough time against an efficient team. And just holding shift + w with the speed boost you get will at minimum extend the chase another 13 seconds. Or you'll guarantee losing 3 gens in the first chase. Which leads to 3-genning being more of a strategy which everyone seems to hate.

What they need to do is even the game out, so that the killer is stronger in the early game, but weaker in the late game. (such that their power is relatively static, barring differences in the killers themselves) That way the game isn't completely decided in the first 45 seconds of a match going on and that the game isn't about snowballing to victory so hard that the other side has a terrible match.

The game should be fun for both sides whether they win or lose. Right now, the game is always miserable to some person or person(s) in the game.

    Amen to this.

Here's the problem it's not the mutli tasking how are you supposed to pressure gens when you can't get downs in general because I can keep 2 sometimes 3 people infected but the people I go against just communicate where my pods aren't they emp and reset the issue is swf just destroys him like trapper

Swf destroys everything in this game gameplay wise.

Discordance doesnt show "genrushing", it shows inefficiency.

It's 2023. We all know the efficient way to do Generators is to split up and repair separately. Discordance shows the polar opposite.

If it was Gearhead, I would agree, otherwise, no.

They are grouping at with 2 gens left not at 5 gens. Grouping up towards the end is very efficient.

If you don't enjoy playing like that OR against super sweaty gameplay, then I don't understand the point of this post. You've stated that you aren't playing optimally or efficiently (and the Survivors aren't either, judging by what you're telling me about Discordance) but, let's say they are, somehow, playing efficiently by grouping up on gens. Why should you be able to win, whilst admittedly not trying very hard, against people that ARE trying their best?

There's really only two options for you, you can either:

    A) Decide that winning is more important and that you'll match sweat with sweat.

    or

    B) Decide that having fun and playing you're way is most important and that the outcome of the match doesn't matter so long as you do what you enjoy.

Will this suffice as an actual discourse opener?

They are grouping on gens with a couple left or 3 max which is perfectly efficient. It's NOT efficient to group at the beginning of the trial. So what you said isn't true. I know when I'm going against an efficient team I have plenty of hours in the game. If I'm getting downs rapidly and gens are still being completed that's efficient. This game has a massive problem right now where the killer can outplay the survivors in every chase and it doesn't matter because the survivors still blast through their objective.

It didn't feel this way when I first started playing as much as it does now. As far as the two options I have neither feel great to pick from. Tunnel and camp and become one of those killers or play the way I want to play and lose more which I'm fine with. What I'm not fine with is losing when I feel like I've outplayed the opponent. Sometimes I suck and I can admit I deserved to lose and other times I feel like it wasn't deserved.

  • @Pulsar said:

I promise you it's honestly not supremely difficult to win DBD games.

Yeah if you camp, tunnel, and play like a scum bag sure it's easy. I don't enjoy playing like that.

When your at a higher mmr and you play 5 or 6 games in a row where you need to sweat to just get a 1 or a 2k its pretty tiring and starts to feel more like a job then a game that you are playing to have fun. And by sweat I mean sweating going for multiple chases and spreading hooks also while pressuring as much as the map as you can. When going against good survivors teams it can in fact be supremely difficult.

  • @patronsaintofpizza said:

I keep seeing all over social media and even have friends that say their survivor games are nothing but slugging, camping, and tunneling. I primarily play solo queue and play it A LOT and rarely encounter these things in matches and if I do they're even more rarely super egregious cases.

Tonight I played solo queue for almost 5 hours, and had some light camping in a few matches during EGC, no apparent tunneling, and only one instance of slugging. I never understand why people say solo queue is so bad when the majority of my matches are fine. Even when I have days of almost no escapes, the games are still mostly fun.

Is the problem really that bad and I'm just a rare exception? Curious to hear from others.

This is me as well. Maybe 1 in every 20 games do I experience full on tunneling and face camping. I think those people are salty liers.

Yeah but when you lose 3 gens by the time you get your first hook it forces you to play in a more boring way if you want to have a chance at getting more than 2 kills.

    Bingo

  • @Pulsar said:

    That's...literally their only objective.

This is true but it's also the most boring argument that's been made for ages to defend survivors. The OP is referring to the teams that finish the gens in 4-5 minutes. It's boring and there's very little gameplay for either side. And in a lot of cases NOT ALL I'd say it's not even lack of pressure from the killer it's 100% pure survivor efficiency. Thank God half the survivors this game are dumb and don't focus on gens because this game would have been dead ages ago. If every game was against 4-6 minute gens there would be 5 killer plays on each continent and NOED would have a 90% pick rate.

I never understood this mentality that higher prestiges are automatically the scariest survivors. It’s literally just a number.

Nope BS. Everytime I go against a prestige 100 and I chase them they are a god looper with BM around every corner. It's definitely not just a number.

  • @Annso_x said:

No, being injured is not your merit, this is your fault. The killer played better than you and you were injured. Imagine being rewarded for it.

It's not like killers have a basekit mechanic that rewards them with a speed boost when they can't catch a survivor in 15 seconds, or that the longer the survivor beats them the more haste the killer gains...

Bloodlust is to correct horrendous map design.

  • Steamers always accuse people of sniping when they lose lol

  • Playing killer feels like a gen rush sweat fest 4 out of every 5 games. Playing solo survivor you're doomed in 80-90% of matches. If that first survivor goes down immediatly in chase forget about it.

I'll also add there is absolutely no excuse to go down immediatly at the beginning. A whole map worth of broken crap and pallets at disposal. Everytime this happen I roll my eyes.

Thank you BHVR for killing the Game because low Rank Survivor crying about everything

Why do u nerf all strong Gen Regression Perks but give Survivors new Gen Rush Perk in every Update ? Dejavu whit Prove Thyself and u cant defend Gens anymore Gens are so fast done that u instant lose 3 Gen against a good Squad the Pop Buff sadly doesnt do anything since it still current Progression we need old Pop Back

MFT is so stupid and broken and destroys every M1 killer in the Game ... yeah make a injured Survivors faster 4 ever so they cant extend chase much longer against every M1 Killer where the Map Design is already trash because there are way to many save palett next each other ( talking about u Saw Map or Knight Map ) This Perk is going to be broken like old DH

The Healing nerf in the Last Mid Chapter Update didnt do anything Survivor still get healed in seconds i had Games where a Survivor got unhooked and was healed after 5 seconds wow insane Nerf but Call of Brine, Eruption and Oovercharge got nerfed to Dead

The new Map is huge Survivor Sided ( im suprised )

Survivor Mains wanted to have the Game Easy Mode and now they got easy Mode but are wondering why they only Play against Nurse or Blight ( and Wesker but he is killswitched ) in high Rank

it looks like the Game only get balanced around Blight and Nurse and the Devs try to make the Survivor stronger against the strongest Killer but ignore the other Killers

DbD is in a State now where Tunneling and Camping the First Survivor is the only way to have a Chance against decent groups and this also going to get nerfed what are Killers allowed to do ?

Toolboxes, Prove thyself, Dejavu and MFT needs nerf to make the Game balanced for Weaker Killers also alot Maps need to be reworked

Im really scared to see what is next Nicolas Cage is most likely going to have very broken Gen Rush Perks because he is a huge and very unique License because he is a real Person and not a Character from a Movie

Dodge lobbies until you get 4 survivors below prestige 10. Seems to be working decently for me.

  • The maps are safe and they know they are untouchable.

  • @Science_Guy said:

This kind of tit-for-tat equivalancy doesn't work for plenty of perks, though. Would it be balanced for Survivors to have a perk that grants 50% longer stun durations? Gotta get rid of Enduing then. Would it be okay for Killers to see the aura of any survivor within 36 meters? Then I guess it's decided, Bond needs to go.

Almost like we're talking about an asymmetrical game and what works for one side is implicity different for the other...

Its a 4 v 1. The enduring comparison you made is a joke.

  • I'd get the license to the Blumhouse Halloween trilogy and add new Myers skins along with other stuff. No idea why this wasn't thought of at all. At the bare minimum update Myers model.

So is queuing up for a game just to be slugged, tunnelled or face camped.

Using an EMP is a real strat, trust me. It’s a survivors right to be able to play however they want. My suggestion is as a killer if you don’t like it, play some survivor.

If you allow yourself to get tunneled out at 5 gens you suck at the game. You have 100 pallets on every map to use and main building with broken windows on most maps. Maybe learn how to abuse all the BS survivor sided loops in the game and the killer will stop chasing you and go tunnel soneone else and by that time multiple gens should be done if your teammates aren't morons. (Which to be fair they probably are.)

This is why people are saying singularity is trash

This game is a joke. Killers a joke. Devs give survivors all the tools they need to make the killers laughably bad. Your skill means nothing.

  • I'm leveling the killer to prestige 3 to unlock all his perks then never playing him again. The EMPs kill his power and I dont have time to surveillance cameras when I need to pressure hyper sonic gen speeds. Even if you do hit them with the biopod they negate it to quick with the EMPs.

  • It's all about looks and not the gameplay with these devs.

  • Yeah im not playing this killer. Not to mention the absolute waste of time scanning the cameras is like 90% of the time. I love how the devs design killers pretending they have an hour to do things before the gens are done.

  • Of course, they always play it to safe with killers. They're horrified of making a killer to OP in the eyes of cry baby survivors.

  • @C3Tooth said:

When you start chase, stalk progression all reset? I thought he can 99 for next chase.

If you have someone say at 75% stalk and hit them they become injured but you lose the stalk progress you had on them. So if you lose the chase and they go off and heal you have to start the stalk progress over. This can happen often because he's an m1 killer and his power goes on cooldown so sometimes you can't top off the stalk quick on the survivor so you have to hit them or waste time just leaving them and going after someone else.

Prove saves like 7 seconds and it's still inefficient to group up on gens.

You wouldn't mind if we just got rid of those changes then, I presume?

If they reverted the changes it would feel no different for me playing killer. Half the games are sheit either way and go to fast before I can try anything. Before and after they added the 10 seconds the games feel exactly the same to me when I'm against a team that prioritizes gens over everything else.

  • @Phantom_ said:

The only purpose it has nowadays is for killers to just camp. Considering BHVR wants to "do" something about camping why don't they remove the whole basement aspect?

    Yes?

CoB, Overcharge, STBFL, PR, DMS, Deadlock, Eruption were all extremely meta and powerful options.

Gens took longer, DH got a big nerf, DS got obliterated, Killers break things faster, recover faster and Survivors got less of a speed boost on hit.

If anything was going to make Killers stop tunneling or camping by giving them powerful tools so that they wouldn't "need" to, it was that patch.

The 10 seconds to gens did absolutely nothing. It did something for the first few days then everyone started using Prove Thyself and strong toolbox addons more which negated the 10 second nerf to gens. The fact people keep bringing this up as massive killer buff is laughable. I never felt a difference in the gen speed at all.

  • @I_am_Negan said:

Stop camping and tunneling for kills and you'll have fun matches.

DBD the only game where someone says "don't play to win." So you're supposed to play to lose right? That's a lot of fun.

  • @Orthane said:

I either get completely stomped and barely have 2-3 hooks by the time they get 5 gens done, or I completely stomp them and they only finish 2. There is almost never an inbetween. Having an actual good game is super rare. I've had a few where I didn't have to tunnel and still got 2-3 kills and those feel good. But having to hard facecamp and/or Tunnel because I have 2 hooks and they're on last gen, and they spread them out so I can't 3 gen is so unfun. I hate tunneling but I HAVE to do it in most games or I won't even get 1 kill. Gens pop so extremely fast that every regression perk is completely unviable and useless. 125% of normal Regression whoopy doo that means it'll take survivors 22 seconds instead of 20 seconds to repair 1 whole minute of regression! The only useful one is Jolt, and that's just because on pretty much every M1 killer there's no better options.

Idk what it is about the games I've been having lately but it truly feels like tunneling is a requirement if I want to get even just 2 kills most of the time. With how fast gens fly by when 2 people have boxes, Prove Thyself, and maybe a few other tools for gen speed, and God forbid one of them has a BNP. Which means you are forced to take someone out of the game as quickly as possible or before you know it all gens will be done. And if you injured everyone too bad, because Adrenaline is picked by over 25% of all Survivors, and if that pops not only can you not catch them, but they've also healed instantly. Incredible.

I've started playing Survivor with a No Mither build and even when I'm basically exposed all the time I have so much more fun than as Killer. When I'm playing Killer it's a constant battle with frustration while I desperately try to get 1-2 kills and getting annoyed when 2 gens pop in a minute when I'm on first chase. But with Survivor, I can genuinely just have fun. Maybe I'm just bad at Killer, but playing Killer is just so demoralizing in so many games.

It's not just you. It's happening to me every other game. If I have less then 3 hooks by the time there down to 1 gen I just DC now. Face camping at endgame is not fun and its the only play left at that point.

  • Hum, Myers, and Freddy are so incredibly handicapped in their base kit it's a joke.

  • @fussy said:

Any Means (my favourite survivor perk btw long before its last buff) need a cooldown, at least 30 sec.

    CoH still broken af.

Dark Theory also increase vault speed.

    Selfcare 45-50%.

Oppression could easily have 40 sec cd.

Grim Embrace 60 sec and works twice if you didn't hook someone twice in a row.

Hangman's Trick. I haven't seen this perk either in my matches or on anyone's streams for three years. Still untouched lmao.

    Fire Up 5-5,5% per token?

Game Afoot 8-10% for 10 seconds

    Thana 4+4+4+(4+4)

Predator shows scratch marks of survivors for 2 seconds after they stop running.

Should I continue? Or do the killers have to use Sloppy/Corrupt/Deadlock/No Way Out for another year until they are became "meta" and get nerfed?

I've been wanting a Dying Light buff forever. There is no reason whatsoever it should buff the obsession. So stupid.

  • @Gandor said:

So you are complaining that if the whole enemy team is better then you, then you should still win somehow? Why? How is that fair? Also you can still create deadzones and no matter how good said survivor is - he will still go down. If there are no resources to loop around, then even best player in DBD will just die.

It's 4 vs 1. If 4 people are all better than me then the matchmaking sucks. Also anyone can drop a god pallet and escape a chase, a good looper or a horrible player can do this. The poor balancing of the maps and all the safe areas make it impossible to know if you're actually against players better than you or if the map is just carrying them to victory.

  • @H2H said:

I think there would be a way to add victory points to certain actions in such a way as to have a more clear, definite win/loss.

    For example:

Killers get 3 points for 1st hook stage on each survivor, 2 points for second stage, and 1 point for sacrifice/mori. The diminishing points for hook stages would incentivize going after fresh targets (i.e. camping and tunneling someone only gets you 3 more points, which is the same you’d get for hooking someone else for the first time).

Survivors get 3 points for each gen complete (or maybe 5 for the first, 4 for the second, 3 for third, 2 for fourth, and 1 for the fifth), and 2 points for each survivor escape (or maybe 3?)

First side to get 21 points wins. If neither side has 21, the team with the most victory points wins.

I know there are issues with this, but I think this general idea could work.

I‘ve also thought about something like a Battlefield style ticket system where survivors have to escape before they run out tickets and the killer tries to exhaust their tickets before they can escape.

    I love this.

I mean this is literally all the survivors are supposed to do. If theyre getting gens done too fast youre chasing good looping survivors too long.

Some games you don't have any "weak" loopers. And in that case you're screwed. Even mediocre loopers who played the game for awhile can be a problem because they know the basics and what's safe and not safe, god pallets, predropping, and they can cause problems as well. So not everyone has to be a god looper to cause a big issue. The sad reality is you need 1 or 2 weak links on the team or its gonna be a bad time. Drop chase? And then what if they next person you find is good to, this can repeat and it's GG.

  • @I_CAME said:

I don't know why people default to "killers camp and tunnel because of X reason". Killers were literally camping and tunneling at peak levels when eruption was at its most broken. People do it because it's ez mode and there is no other reason.

I tunnel when I'm in trouble. 1 gen left still 4 survivors alive. Or if I can't keep up with the speed of the gens. Not cuz it's easy mode. A lot of killers camp or tunnel to try and make a comeback from a bad start.

I have to disagree. Camping and tunneling was huge before the gen regression perks were NERFed. I'm not saying there isn't a problem, but using gen speed as an excuse to tunnel and camp is bull. Most do it at 5 gens anyway. Maybe camping and tunneling has caused "gen rushing".

Also I'd say 1 in every 20 survivor matches I play does a killer actually truly tunnel and camp. And I'd say 50% or more of survivor games I play 3 or more gens are done by the time the killer has 2 or 3 hooks. And don't say the killers are bad because that's a load of crap. Maps are to save and no matter how you are at killer downing can be very difficult before multiple gens are done.

Because this is the #1 problem in the game and always has been, gen rush. Which in turn causes the #2, #3 issues camping and tunneling. If I lose 3 or 4 gens for 1 hook why the hell would I leave the hook and go for more chases lmao.

I’m doing fine playing casually as Scratched Mirror Myers without even using map offerings. PWYF, Haunted Grounds, NoED and Franklins. Franklins is amazing with the current healing nerfs since it takes away Med Kits. It’s also fun to camp an item while hiding behind a wall, waiting for the survivor to come back for it.

Sure, I get my butt handed to me by people who know Myers weaknesses and how to loop, but it’s not that often and it’s nothing that a little bit of tunneling and proxy camping can’t help with in evening the odds.

How the hell are you playing scratched mirror on outdoor maps? I wouldn't even be able to get a down lmao

  • @Seraphor said:

You can make arguments for why a given map is survivor or killer sided, but this is ultimately conjecture. Do you have evidence the maps are favouring one side too much? That evidence would be kill rates. A map that was truly survivor sided would have a significantly lower kill rate than the average, and vice versa. BHVR have this and have acted on them before when they reworked Eyrie of Crows. Unless you have kill rates to indicate a significant bias one way or the other, this is ultimately just "I don't like this map". You could say BHVR have a very loose margin for what is deemed 'significant' so as not to be constantly reworking maps all the time, but again, conjecture. I'm sure if one map being so survivor sided that it required a rework didn't result in it being killswitched before, then no current map in the roster is so imbalanced that it should be killswitched.

For example, most think Midwich is killer sided. The arguments for why that is are sound. However there's also the issue of hook placement, exit gate positions, and strong loops that require breaking down doors. There aren't really any 'weak' pallets either, besides the two in the chemistry lab and the library. These all serve to balance the fact that Midwich is a small map on two levels, but many may not recognise this due to confirmation bias. People are more likely to recognise unfavourable conditions (this map is too killer sided because I always die) than favourable ones (I survived on this map, must be an anomaly because it's killer sided), this is called confirmation bias.

This is also largely why I don't believe map offerings are a problem. Maybe they are at super high comp level play, but I don't believe the kill rates are actually that varied for the general playerbase. Most maps are generally fairly balanced, with different aspects favouring one side like strong loops or larger map sizes for survivors, balanced by different aspects favouring the other like potential 3 gens or close hook placements, not to mention that fact that different killers have different map affinities, ultimately resolving in relatively even kill rates.

Anecdotally (because after all that's all each of us have), I have died and escaped on every map, and I have scored 0 kills and 4 kills on every map. All maps are viable, which means the balance issues, which I'm sure exist, probably aren't that significant.

Kill rates don't mean #########. You can camp people to death in this game. The farm map and cowshed in particular are survivor sided because it would take an experienced killer playing any m1 killer 5 minutes to down a good survivor 1 v 1 on that map. Almost every loop is ridiculously safe with long walls on each side and the killer can't see anything over half of the haystack loops.

  • I play on controller and for the most part I'm ok. But every once and awhile I'll get a survivor that I literally can't hit. We're talking spun over and over again. I try to do a short swing doesn't work, try to back up doesn't work, try to spin with them doesn't work. Frustrating and at times kills the game for me. The FOV sucks and its hard for me to keep my eyes on the survivor.

So basically "I am losing" *activates tunnel mode* "I am now winning.

This is generally why incentives wouldn't work, lol

This is how killers have to play for kills unless the survivors suck @ss and can't loop for more then 10 seconds.

  • What they need to do is make it so the survivor objective can't be completely so ridiculously fast and then remove tunneling from the game completely. Make it impossible to tunnel, put a mechanic in the game that prevents it. But something MUST be done about the speed of the gens, its so ridiculous and always has been tbh.

yeah right, all survivor should start the trial on the hook and only the 4% gang wins a chance to fight against the killer.

Pretty sure I've seen you comment this on other posts. Stop with the over exaggeration lmao

I'm sure many of you are tired of hearing complaints about the new dead hard nerf, however I just wonder why BHVR didn't keep dead hard the way it was in the PTB that it disabled if it successfully protected you from damage (if it took you into deep wound).

Now even if you just missclick it or use it and get exhausted without it successfully protecting you, it disables.

Now I understand what people mean with it being truly dead. BHVR could keep it as it is, but I would love if they could add that it disables only if it puts you into deep wound, meaning you could use it several times per hook state until you've hit it. What do you think about this suggestion? That would be more balanced.

DH is still viable. You just can't use it on your first chase. I don't understand why people are acting like this perk is dead. You can still use it and it's still the same obnoxious BS at pallets.
