Killers got basekit (to an extent):
- Brutal Strength
- STBFL
- An additional 50 seconds
- and mini PGTW.
Oh they also got a 60% kill rate!
Just because one side receives a change doesn't mean the other needs and equal and opposite one, if that were the case the game balance would never change.
All these changes do very little. The mini PGTW is 2.5% it might as well be nothing when survivors are pushing gens fast. Unbreakable is a meta perk that survivors are getting for free. Killers got yellow Brutal strength, 2 stacks of STBFL, and 2.5% kicking gens. That hardly has the same impact as unbreakable. Terrible comparison. Unbreakable can turn a hopeless certain 4k for the killer into a complete reset of the game and multiple survivors escape.

"-Every advantage survivors rejoice about, leads to more camping and more tunneling."
This is the hard truth that survivors do not want to accept. Why does a killer tunnel? They get conditioned when they play top tier survivors that they lose if they do not.
Also Killers tunnel because getting 4 hooks on each survivor does nothing. As long as that is true then it is better to get three hooks on one person and one hook on a fresh survivor. In order for this arrangement to change Killer needs Base Kit buffs that would apply a bonus for hooking each "fresh survivor".

-"So if a chase lasts 30 seconds then that means 90 seconds for Survivors to do Gens"
Most survivors don't play killer or they don't play killers at a level where the survivors are really good. And almost zero survivors can play any killer besides Nurse/Blight (or Spirit with killer instinct) at a competent level.
The reality is people who play DBD professionally as a streamer with 7-9k hours of experience get beaten regularly by people who efficiently focus on generator repair and can loop at a minimum level of effectiveness. The same streamers who play a comp team finish the game with 1-3 hooks. Is that exciting to watch? No. Would it be exciting to play if you were the killer in that game?
DBD is balanced around bad playes who can loop for about 30 seconds. The game is completely broken when you play people who can loop for 60 seconds. And then broken again when you have a bully squad who at the end of 60 seconds takes hits for the first survivor (or breaks a hook, uses breakout, etc.).
Tunneling might not be fun or fair to the survivor but in the current balance it is fair to the killer because chases are far too long relative to how easy it is to fix generators.
This is the 100% truth.

Killers still tunnel and camp at 5 gens so I don’t think that’s the reason.
Yeah but I think that's more a person being an ahole problem then a game problem. I will start to proxy camp or tunnel if there's 1 or 2 gens left and I have no one dead, I feel like most rational killer mains play like that then the ones that camp and tunnel at 5 gens.

was part of the nerfs fine print that it just doesnt work when you press it half of the time? why is this game sooooo bad man. can you just stop touching things?? killer players are gonna cry no matter what, they spend their free time doing 30 mins of actual playing the game, and the rest is spent crying somewhere. please stop touching survivors, and fix this god forsaken perk
If it's not working for you it means you aren't timing it right and the killers waiting it out. The perk is still strong it just takes skill now. Old dead hard was total BS!
-
Myers. I have to use stalk addons or it's just brutal.
-
While I agree the maps have to many pallets I don't like and disagree with the gyst of this post.
-
Survivors think the killer should leave the hook at endgame to give all the survivors a free and easy rescue and escape.
-
DH is not garbage. I've watched my girlfriend successfully use it over a dozen times tonight to extend chases and safe herself.
-
I don't mind the new DH. Old DH was a cancerous growth consuming this game slowly. The amount of bs dead hards to safe pallets when I had survivors mindgamed made me want to quit the game.
-
Buff base kit for Myers, PLEASE! Nerf the tombstone piece whatever.
We've had a Halloween trilogy coming out since 2018, can we at least get a halloween 2018 skin if we aren't going to buff him??? Come on man.
-
Myers, he needs to be buffed. And I'm sick of saying it at this point.
-
@Brix said:
Slinger at least should be 115 imo. Like why is Artist even 115
I don't think any killers should be less then 115% except Nurse. Seems outdated as hell to me. Myers is 105% speed in tier 1??? Why??? His undetectable status isn't that powerful that it warrants him moving at a snails pace.

@Chaos999 said:
Flashlight Sabo teams are the easiest of games.
Depends if they have a gen jockey or switch someone out to be a gen jockey. If that's the case enjoy being bullied while gens are still getting done. And depending on the map and how good they can loop, forget about it. It's over.
-
And Myers is a relic from when survivors would hide and seek. He needs a buff. Tier 1 speed debuff needs to go! And as soon as he hits a survivor in tier 1 he should instantly go into tier 2 without needing to stalk. The game goes to fast for him to be wasting time stalking for a minute when the game starts.
-
Killers have 4 perk slots. I'm not running Surveillance when all it does is tell me someone has tapped the gen. Doesn't even mean the survivor is there.
-
Yeah against clueless megs, lockers Dwight's, and Blendettes. High mmr survivor teams are evil as hell to go against. You aren't winning 95% of your games playing nice.
-
You literally have to m1 if they just run to pallets and windows. His saw sucks. Although it is fun sniping people at the start with Lethal lol

That wouldn't make any sense though. The evidence is overwhelming they balance for very bad killers. There is zero evidence they do anything to help bad survivors, they are dead when the match starts.
I also forgot to mention Bloodlust was actually buffed, which rewards very bad killers and punishes good survivor gameplay.
Really why are God pallets in the game?

My point is people only complain about god pallets. Survivors never complain about unsafe pallets on a map. It's perfectly fine if there are pallets that are unsafe and can end chase quickly but heavens forbid there are several god pallets on a map
Because a good survivor won't even use an unsafe pallet or run in the direction of an unsafe pallet knowing it's unsafe. They will W to a safer area or start utilizing windows if they are near by instead. God pallets literally can destroy a killers pressure entirely. Ever play an m1 killer on the meat plant? I've had games where I'm literally just breaking pallets all game and the gens are done, 1 or 2 hooks and that's it because there's a safe pallet literally within reach everywhere. An unsafe pallet to me is a garbage pallet that the killer is guaranteed a hit, not a 50/50 pallet that can result in either the killer getting a hit or the survivor vaulting the pallet before the killer gets the hit.
God pallets which are the worst design in the game, 50/50 ones which are the best design, and unsafe pallets which are garbage design but not as bad as God pallets. Killers are forced to interact with God pallets every game. Survivors do not have to interact with an unsafe pallet.

Friendly reminder that DBD is a PVP game. You are supposed to lose unless you play better than your opponents which you obviously don't if you still struggle despite 90 second gens.
Everyone acting like 90 second gens take an eternity when they used to be 80s seconds.
-
I 4ked a bully squad with Deaths linger last night and it was so satisfying. However I played out of my mind and don't think I missed more then 2 shots with my gun. I consistently nailed them even when they were 15-20 meters away from me. Killing these teams basically requires perfect killer gameplay. If you make 1 or 2 mistakes the games basically over. My build was also perfect for the game, I had Agitation which countered them trying to body block hooks over and over and pain res which stopped them from completing the last gen like 4 or 5 times. Without those 2 perks I would have lost and probably 3 or 4 man escape even with my damn near perfect play with the redeemer shots.
-
Swf is very obviously the most unbalanced and infuriating thing in the game. Yet you can't have a discussion ever about it because all the "punished for playing with friends" people start with their nonsensical banter. It's a game and swf is a huge balance issue when it's a 4 man on comms. Creates bullying and lopsided gameplay in favor of the survivors but we can't talk about it ever.

Ghostface.
No point in having "reveal" as your main counterplay when you can't reveal him because it doesn't work.
Interesting as when I play GF I get revealed from a bush 30 meters away while I'm crouched behind something.

Dying Light is now a better slow down for all other killers besides plague and legion lmao
-
They should have just made the change to 3/6/9/12 percent per injure. Now the perk is total sheet on all killers except Plague.

10 extra seconds for each gen and that's without all the slowdown perks killers love to use. It's a buff to camping/tunneling as well. NO, I won't stop until SoloQ players get the buffs they desperately need. Next
I agree solo needs buffs and agree the slow downs stacking is annoying. Thanatophobia honestly should have been nerfed not buffed. But to say revert the gen speed is a complete joke. Good survivor teams still pound these gens out like it's nothing. The 80s gens were way to fast and the 90s kinda is to. What they should have done is kept gens the same for solos and increase the times for swfs. The swf coordination just simply makes the gens look like a complete joke to complete.
-
@IronKnight55 said:
Idk. I'm not having fun even if I'm escaping, especially if the killer throws on a bunch of gen slowdown perks. Gens need to go back to 80 seconds, tunneling/camping needs to be looked at and maybe a few changes to some of the recently changed perks on both sides (DS, SC, Overcharge, etc). I'll be happy if they at least do those things. Longer gen times are killing it for me... it's just sooo boring.
It's 10 extra seconds. STOP.
-
You wanna remove his tombstone add ons? Then he needs a major and I mean major base kit buff.
-
@tamsmi said:
im sorry where did i request that? i said i wanted killer buffs toned down a bit. the only reason im losing to people worse than me is because they are buffed beyond belief
The killer buffs are barely noticeable. You can still chain pallets. The drama is ridiculous on you survivor mains. An extra 10 seconds to gens, bring prove thyself and overzealous.

Sorry but its a skill issue and not a design issue if the killer gets dunked on in 4 minutes. And you coping hardcore rn
Nope every killer has games where the gens get done in 4-5 minutes. Otz all the way down to a brand new player. Its map rng, survivor spawns, and gen efficiency. Sometimes there is nothing the killer can do about it. Sometimes the killer plays bad and sometimes they don't. The "skill issue" answer is a cop out argument for issues with the game.

And in your killer games how many times you 3-4k? Honestly
Probably somewhere between half to 3 quarters of them. But I also had a couple 4 man escapes all well where I got destroyed.

What have you done, BHVR...
Every game I've played so far in solo Q was buffed Thana + sloppy + camping killers... even camping nurses. And gens take ages to complete. Literally ages.
Let alone the fact that every random in solo Q wants to be altruistic at the same time and they stop repairing gens because of the lack of information we have as solo Q players...
Stop the drama please. I've played many survivor games and have run into a thanatophobia killer twice. The gens take 10 seconds longer, that's not ages. In fact in my killer games I barely notice a difference. Games still go by to fast.

Mikey
Wraith
Sadoko
Pig
Ghostface
Mikey is my main. I love him because he is so versatile with builds and play styles. They really captured the style of the movie character the way he creeps, stalks, and then kills. I am also a huge Halloween fan.
I like Wraith because he has some fun add ons.
Not really a fan of the others. Sadoko is very meh. Pig has no control of her own power. Ghostface can be robbed of his own power.
I'm so excited for Halloween Ends. Unlike most I thought Halloween Kills slapped hard!
-
I think map offerings should go to but I have a conflict with it, it would destroy Scatch Mirror Myers. That addon will never get used again, you need an indoor map.
-
Myers is way better then GF in my opinion.
-
I played nice killer and had everyone on death hook pretty much. Last gen popped and 2 out of the 4 survivors were fully juiced out and a 3rd survivor closed to fully juiced.
Another game where not tunneling or camping causes a 4 man escape loss.
-
As someone who mains Myers I am sick and tired of him not being looked at base kit wise. Very outdated and could use some really cool buffs but devs do nothing.
-
That's not matchmaking that crappy spawns coupled with stupid gen speed.
-
Yeah I don't think anyone is standing in Michael Myers way without him gutting them or pushing them and crushing there head up against a wall in the lore but this is a video game unfortunately lol

I always thought this game needed things like Types of Generators.
Red - Normal - You know this one.
Blue - Heavy - takes longer to fix
Brown - Old - higher change and faster skill checks
Green - Unfinished - Need to find a spare part to start repairs. Touch gen to highlight locker which has part.
Beautiful idea, love it honestly but will never happen. Sad.

@Hex_Llama said:
I would introduce different types of gens. Instead of having them all work the same way, I'd create a mixture of different features they can have that affect the strategy you use to repair them and make it harder to just split up and churn them out. Maybe some of them require more than one person to work on them, or some require you to go find an item before you can repair, or some take a long time to repair but they're almost impossible to regress -- you can come up with lots of conditions.
I think it would make the game more interesting for survivors and also help to negate the problem where people just mindlessly stack on gens to finish them fast.
This isn't a bad idea.
-
If someone goes down within the first 20 seconds of the match yeah its kinda gg. It's just a massive slow ball that cant be stopped if they are somewhat competent as Nurse.
-
Forget about trash talking while using DH. They will trash talk when using DH, DS, UB, and IW. Like total tool bags, then when you kill them they complain about tunneling and camping. Like seriously bro your whole build is second chances..

Survivor meta = uninstall dead by daylight and find a better game than gen simulator 2.0
An extra ten seconds, cry about it. All survivor have to do is split up and one person runs the killer for 60 seconds and its GG in it's current state. Gen speeds have been broken forever an devs have been to scared to touch it till now. Should be 100 seconds per gen as far as I'm concerned.

it rewards "skillful play" about as well as old dh. also cant really be baited out more than old dh. this is barely a nerf. could even be a slight buff
It can't be used for BS distance to windows and pallets.

@egg_ said:
If in your games you rely only on slowdown, I think you kinda have to work on your own gameplay.
Also we have no idea what changes are coming, and most survivor meta perks are getting reworked too. So I don't know why you're making a huge deal about it, as of now
Tbf if he is at a higher mmr you HAVE to use at least 1 or 2 gen perks or the games over before you can even do anything remotely productive. I've had games where all my chases are quick, doesn't matter because I used a meme build with no slow down and the gens fly.

@Sheridan_LT said:
I noticed survivors become really obnoxious when playing some of the weakest Killers in the game like Ghostface, Pig, Clown, Legion and Freddy. Why?
Because they know the killer has nothing in there arsenal to combat them. So they get cocky and Abuse them.

@ArchAbhor said:
I stopped using dead hard since last chapter drop to prep for the nerf. I've gotten better at looping because of it. It will just weed out the bad players who use it as a crutch. However I think we might see an uptick in people getting better at looping because of it. Which imo is better then the current dead hard meta.
I 100% have no issues with a person outplaying me at a loop without Dead hard. Thats earned. What's not earned is reaching a pallet that you shouldn't reach because you pressed a button.
-
@GoodBoyKaru said:
It's funny you should call them bad when Dead Hard For Distance™ relies on them strategically routing correctly to a tile they know they can hit and then loop. DHFD isn't correcting a mistake, it's enabling a play they can make knowing they have Dead Hard, and there's a world of difference between the two.
That takes no skill whatsoever. All jungle gyms have a pallet. Its not difficult to know where the pallets are. Killer gets a little to close for comfort, press E to the pallet. It's brain dead easy especially if you use Windows of Opportunity.

"It sucks and it's unfun to have played well, better in fact then your opposition"
The issue is that you did not, in fact, play better than your opposition.
Ghostface is an M1 killer. Which means you were on top of the downed survivor. Somehow, the other survivor managed to get in without getting hit themselves, use FTP, and get out without getting hit as well. Either they timed it perfectly and got them up during the swing cooldown, or they had a stand-off with the GF which they somehow won. Either way, the OP got outplayed outside of perk usage.
FTP is the perk in the game with the absolute highest skill ceiling. You didn't get 'second chanced', you just got outplayed.
They used FTP while I was in my attack cooldown, that's not getting outplayed. The game wouldn't allow me to react in time to stop it. Only way I could have avoided that was to have 8 stacks of STBFL.
