There are very powerful combos for killer that also work together really well. Just look at Pop, Corrupt, Discordance and Thrilling. I would use this over your suggestion any day.
Or if you have trouble with DS and unbreakable combo, toss in Infectious fright. By the way, how to counter infectious fright? Calm spirit? :D
Also, and i can not stress this enough, unbreakable/Ds combo is useless if you just go for the unhooker instead of tunneling the unhooked guy. If you play like this, 2 perks of his 4 are completly uesless, the 3rd has no effect yet and DH is not that great since dedicated servers. You can even slug the unhooked survivor and THEN go for the closest one, whats the big deal?
(before you come with "try that on red ranks", i am rank 1 killer and i play every day 15-20 killer games + playing mainly all killers weaker then huntress, and still win almost every one of those games)
Corrupt and pop don't synergize, corrupt is gone and barely does anything. If all 4 survivor run ds and unbreakable, they have 8 minutes of God mode total.
I must be in a region where 75% of red rank survivors are gods. They don't miss dh, and they're all incredibly good loopers.

Do you enjoy matches against double slow down Freddy with Franklin's and an ebony? Iri head infantry belt huntress with an ebony mori? Hook camping deathslinger with monitor and an ebony mori? Hook camping silent all seeing wraith with an ebony? Playing against killers that pull out all the jerk moves IS NOT FUN. It might be fun if they suck and you can clown them anyway, but at red ranks they are usually decent and they have stacked the deck so much in their favor that its lame as hell. THAT is sweat, and its not fun for anyone. This isn't war or the Olympics, its an f'ing video game
I guarantee you the people that do that have been destroyed in the last few games. Had that happen to me tonight, three games, one kill. Started the next mach with double windstorm wraith, and a survivor got toxic. I snapped and went full sweat, camping and tunneling one guy down and slugging for the 4k.

Close the forum, this man just said it all. The only thing I would add comes in on flashlights. Skill is one thing, but its absolutely unacceptable for a killer to be blinded by something he can't even see. On numerous occasions, I've been blinded while staring at a wall.

Yes and like i said, there are tons of killer perks that also cant be countered, like Bamboozle or Pop. There does not always have to be a hard counter that makes a certain perk useless. DS is a second chance perk for survivor and pop is a second chance perk for killers if you think about it (both slow down the objective of the other team)
Not really the same thing. Pop you can switch gens or get right back on it. Bamboozle, you just go to a different loop. With the ds unbreakable combo, there is nothing that can be done, because you don't know its there.
The problem with survivor second chance perks is how well they synergize. Ds, dh, unbreakable, and adrenaline is a stupid powerful combo. It would be like surge, pop, old ruin, and thrilling all working together.

Adrenaline: Not op at all, they have to run 3 perks the whole game to get it activated, which is not always (mildly said) the case. On top of that, the benefit is not that great most of the time.
DS: There is an amazing counter to that: Dont tunnel. And if the survivor runs in your way, down and slug her. Whats the big deal?
Unbreakable: Pretty much the same with DS.
Exhaustion perks: Are you joking?
OoO: Play a stealth killer and have a free wallhack while the survivor has no cluse where you are all the time.
Diversion: lol
"There is no counter" is such a bullshit argument. I could also say where is the "counter" of bamboozle? Or Pop? Or corrupt? Or Safe the best for last? Or Monitor and Abuse? Or Or Or....
Ds and unbreakable together can't be countered. You have to make them waste one. Adrenaline is fine, but noed is it's equivalent. The play a stealth killer is a bad argument since you can't change mid match.

Then you got unfortunately placed against a team that’s higher skill than you. That’s the byproduct of the poor matchmaking system.
if you got outplayed then that’s tough, the killer has the edge and if that’s not enough then idk what you want me to say lol
Wasn't about skill gap. I played near perfect and they played near perfect. When that happens, survivor wins every time.

No, it really doesn’t.
Killer is meant to be strong - yes. But there’s a huge difference between playing against a killer, and a mastered killer, and you can feel that difference very easily in a game.
The game is hugely not friendly to any side from the start. I had little idea of how to play as survivor or killer, until my own confidence grew. The truth is - you can get past a learning curve on a killer, why? Because you run the show. You decide and dictate what kind of match it’s going to be. But as a survivor, you can never fully master being one. You don’t get to dictate how the match runs, you can’t make a killer stop facecamping or tunnelling - and you have to learn to adapt because you’re never going to consistently run into the same type of killers each game.
The one thing that is on the survivor’s side is being able to escape from the killer and hide if need be - but they’re taking it away from survivors. Even now, with the huge maps when I’m running a killer, I accidentally run them into my team because of how vast the deadzones in the game are.
but that’s just my experience
I played against a 15k hour team of survivors. One guy alone had over 9k hours. I got two hits total, hits, not downs. I did everything you're supposed to do, ran the loops right, broke chase, pressured gens, etc. They ran every loop perfectly and flew through the gens. I wasn't dictating diddly crap. Trust me, when this game is played at a high level, killer is helpless.

Or you know, playing well. But keep crutching on overpowered perks and thinking it's skill.
I'm sorry, but survivor does the same. Every game it's the same old meta perks.

I’m afraid that you’re going to have many killer mains come in here to bash your opinion - or try to argue that killers aren’t op - when they are.
Speaking from my perspective, getting into the game with little prior knowledge was difficult for many reasons. I had to watch a streamer for months on end to grasp the game to actually find it fun and worthwhile.
the game is very killer-oriented and the new changes are going to kill the game for survivors even more. Many of the “god loops” that are going to be removed weren’t abused by everyday survivors, the averagely skilled players. They are abused by players that play at a higher level that can run killers for 2,3 or 4 gens. Running a killer for 3 gems is a big achievement for myself that I’ve only experienced a handful of times in my plenty hours on the game. Condensing the maps is also easily one of the worst things that they can do when not taking in consideration the powers of the killers. But they’ll learn when the amount of survivor players further quits or start limiting their playtime
Killer is strong when you're new and have new teammates. I went from rank 5 survivor to rank 13, and I can't escape a rank 17 killer with rank 20 teammates. But I can pip. Once you get to red ranks, the game changes to survivor sided in a huge way.

And what about when the killer is just an overpowered character, running overpowered items, or running a mori? You want to give 3-4 extra minutes to an iri head huntress with a mori? It's just a dumb, braindead mechanic that is completely RNG based in solo Q. The only people defending it are people crutching on it, I believe that.
Silly for iri head huntress to run noed, but take the L and move on to the next game. Noed is pretty much the only counter and deterrent to the gen rush.

Good luck finding all the totems on the indoor maps, or a map like springwood. Good way to waste 3-4+ minutes without a dedicated totem hunting build which will be useless 9/10 games because you don't see NOED too often at high ranks.
Killers will always make excuses for this perk. And I main killer, I know it's BS and I don't even try to deny it.
Exactly. You spend the 3-4 minutes, which gives the killer time, or you gen rush and risk the noed.

@DaGreenBolt said:
I'm done and just burned out by the game due to how the recent patches were basically a cluster ######### of crap.
I played 60% killer, and 40% survivor, and the recent patches essentially made the killer role exponentially harder to play, while making survivor somewhat of a breeze to play. The two worst patches was the utter disaster of the nurse nerf, and the ruin nerf. These two patches are the patches that killed the game for me.
The nurse was a killer that needed an add on rework, but not on the base kit. The basekit was balanced were the time you put in to learn and master the nurse, rewarded you equally. Now the Nurse is the opposite were the time and effort needed to learn and master doesn't equal the reward, where the reward is low. There was a ton of feedback from the ptb, yet they weren't even listened to, and decided to release the nurse in the most unfun way possible. The Nurse is an unfun and boring killer to play now, and when playing the survivor, playing against the reworked nurse feels boring, instead of exciting from the old nurse. Essentially this patch, really deteriorated the compassion for this game.
The Ruin nerf was the breaking point for me, where gen times were a problem, and ruin helped mitigate that problem for an opportunity to play fair (aka no tunneling, camping, slugging, or unfun add ons, unless I'm facing a 3 to 4 man SWF bully squad, then all fair play is off the table.). Also the fact that Ruin got nerfed because of new players, and apparently players who can't hit skillchecks (seriously if you are at red ranks and can't hit great skill checks, you shouldn't be there). The Ruin nerf made red ranks a sweat feast for killers against optimal survivors, and SWF, and a breeze as a survivor with optimal red rank teammates. The dev stream after the nerf, just added fuel to fire, when they said to expect to "Lose 3 gens in the early game". The ruin nerf just made about 80% of the killers unviable at red ranks.
The fact that you have survivors having a lot of second chance perks that cover up any mistake a survivor makes. Especially with the Unbreakable + DS combo where you are untouchable for a straight minute and don't get punished. I've been hit by DS at times where I don't even tunnel, in which I just down survivors too fast because they are potatoes.
Lets also mention how toxic some players can be and just attempt to bully you when attempting to have fun at the game. This game has the worst toxicity on a level I haven't seen before, especially from survivors. The amount of butthurt some players get just by being outplayed and the amount of spam they attempt to flood you with by just playing in a way someone doesn't like. I've been DDOSed by a survivor just because I slugged them.
The last thing that just annoys me is how the rate of survivor bugs get rapidly fixed compared to killer bugs. Survivor bugs like the DS bug, and the Basement bug got relatively fixed in a week or two, compared to the killer sound bugs, which have been going on for at least 3-6 months. We had bugs on the nurse, which made her unplayable there for months but still not fixed, but a DS bug can be fixed in at most two weeks? I'm sensing a pattern here.
I said in some previous posts that after I spent all my ebony and ivory moris on killers, I would quit after ruin was nerfed, and today is the day. I gave the Devs one last chance, and so far they shown me that a 2.5 sec sabo is fair, the toolbox "nerfed" ended up making toolboxes essentially mini-BNPs, and releasing a killer who is arguably worse than clown, despite the amount of feedback.
Currently, I'm find games like Minecraft, War Thunder, COD, and Plague Inc Evolved a lot more fun and enjoyable, and actually rewards you for putting in the time and effort to learn.
I'll still lurk around the forums, and watch youtube vids of DBD, and might come back if the game changes for the better, but for now I'm gonna spend my time and money on games that don't favor one side of the spectrum, and has a better community.
TL:DR: Burnt out from the game due to how crap the recent patches are, and how certain patches essentially deteriorated the game for me, and essentially killed it.
You're not wrong about any of it. I was about with you until deathslinger. Something about that killer just meshes with my play style and made the game fun again.

Because honestly I face red, purple and green survivors all the time... So yah I can say so... Sometime I get trolled really good, but most the time I kill everyone.
I got a mix of red, purple, and green earlier thanks to rank reset. I crushed them on haddonfield. Now a week ago, I got 10 matches in a row of solid rank 1 players with 1500 hours minimum. 3 kills total.... in 10 matches.

Honestly I don't find being a killer difficult at all... Like I don't even bother spending blood points on them. Every killer perk is powerful with no draw backs, and as a lvl 13 killer and I'm only that low because I don't play killer very much other than to complete challenges. Yah sometimes all the survivors escape but for everytime that happens I kill every single one in a 6-1 ratio in my favor, so I don't get when people say that survivors are OP...
I hate to be that guy, but at rank 13, you really aren't in a position to say killer is easy. Get up around rank 4-7 where you get solid rank 1 survivors running meta perks and map offerings, then tell me how easy killer is.

I had this idea in my head for a while now. This isn't a suggestion, this is a question to the community and an interesting thing to debate/talk about.
Given that the Killer would be the Xenomorph otherwise known as The Alien, What would the creature's powers be?
Would a dark Space Station-like map be fitting to Dead by Daylight? Do keep in mind that simple "exit gates" would have to be changed to something like "vault doors", behind which are "escape pods", because opening a gate right into airless space wouldn't be a genius idea. xd
In my opinion, a chapter like this would include a very cool map with different exit mechanics, as well as a rather scary killer with interesting powers.
What about the perks though?
Discuss!
I feel like the xeno would be similar to demogorgon with a slash and lunge attack. Maybe even a Billy style sprint. I would like to see stealth ambushes from the ceiling, but this wouldn't work on most maps.
I feel like there would need to have something revolving around the face hugger. Either a pig style where they have to find a surgical pod to remove it, or a spot where you can caccoon them and the team would have a short time to rescue them. Like two minutes to rescue them before they get mori'd.

@Desh said:
Hello, I'm Desh.
Some of you must have forgotten who created this game. You know, the Devs. The Devs that worked hard at creating what is relatively a great and unique product that you can enjoy with your friends or by yourself. The poor Devs that I constantly see being belittled and harassed in the forums because of something that an individual doesn't like. Not every aspect of the game is going to be perfect, nor will it be tailored to your specific needs. Being absolutely rude to the people who created this content for you to enjoy isn't going to solve anything either.
It takes a lot to build a game, and a lot more to maintain an online game at that. As long as new content comes into the game (content to keep the game fresh and enjoyable for you by the way), there will always be new bugs that will mess with the game. Report the bugs so that the Devs can do their jobs and move on. It needs to be annotated, but adding hate-filled content into the mix isn't aiding anything. If you don't like how something is run (i.e camping, a perk, a killer, etc.), then discuss it in the forums without calling out Devs for being one sided or useless.
It takes time to patch the bugs because you have to find the root of the problem, it takes time to cater to the requests of individuals if it's a good idea because now they have to design what you envisioned and make it fit into the game and keeping it as balanced as possible. If you don't like something, be an adult and state it with facts and reasoning on why you think it is a bad idea.
Just be mature and appreciate the Devs hard work. They don't have to give you new content.
Let's get something straight, the devs didn't create this content for us, they created it for a paycheck.
Now, the devs have 100% earned the hate. The ruin patch notes talked only about survivor fun and took zero feedback from the killer community. They basically said this is how it's going to be, deal with it and git gud.
Killer bugs are ignored, but survivor bugs are fixed instantly. If they want people to be nicer, they need to realize there are two player bases.
-

With 2.5 second sabo, you need a little more warning.
So basically you need hangmans trick to counter sabo. You give every survivor immediate access to sabo, but hide the counter behind a paywall and massive grind to unlock it.... And you wonder why the killer mains have a deep hatred for the devs. Wee bit of bias there.

I've had 1, 5 minute timeout for a crash midgame since penalties came in. these 2 crashes happened in loading screen at roughly 50%. game just froze and nothing short of ctrl+alt+del would fix it. 2 out of 8 isn't very good odds of a hard lock up of the game. hope you guys are on the fix for this soon. in the meantime keep banning those unsportsman like dc jerks that still plague this game somehow.
This bug happens to me a lot. My record is 5 in a row.

@Peanits said:
Regarding sabotage time: Right now if they decide to keep sabotaging the hook after being hit, they will sabotage it, but they'll wind up trading themselves for the person you're carrying since you'll be able to hit them immediately after. We're keeping an eye on it just in case to make sure it doesn't get out of hand.
For Hangman's Trick, the number used in the PTB was much higher than anticipated. Due to the spacing of hooks, that 16m radius gave you essentially map-wide aura reading on all survivors, completely overshadowing perks like BBQ & Chili. The idea behind the perk is to help combat sabotage, not to give you information on every survivor. You'll still get information on the survivors before they can sabotage a hook, letting you react and change your plans sooner.
As for the last question, I'm not entirely sure what you mean. The Doctor received some add-on changes in this update, but he also received changes to his base kit as well (in addition to the massive base kit changes from the mid-chapter). Killer like The Plague and The Trapper also received base kit changes in this update. We don't focus on one or the other, we update both add-ons and base powers. Additionally, we do tend to make add-ons that change the way a killer is played these days rather than being straight upgrades over their default power.
Except there won't be a hook trade, because they will use two survivors. One for sabo and one for blocking. Did you not watch what monto, puppers, and satt did in the ptb?

That all this is, just a delay to get people off their backs, but they have no intentions of fixing this crap.

It's getting really tiring at this point. Everywhere I go on this forum I see crap like this:
Someone has an idea? "The devs won't do this because they only care about 💲💰🤑"
Someone reports or asks about a bug? "This probably won't get fixed until half a year later because bhvr is [insert role] biased 🤡🤡"
Any balance change (or even a bugfix) is made? "See? They only cater to entitled [insert role] mains ☺️☺️"
Like, holy hell. I get that y'all are frustrated about the balance and how changes are made very slowly but have you ever considered that making a working 1vs4 game is VERY HARD and it will never be perfect? Not to mention that Behaviour is not a gigantic AAA game company.
Changes will come to both sides in time. The devs aren't ignoring either of them. Stop making every single thing into an "us vs them". Feel free to tell your opinions and criticism to the devs but stop assuming they only care about one side. If that was the fact, the game would be dead already.
First off, they only care about money. They do this for a living, so they don't care about customer opinions or quality of product, so long as it isn't affecting the bottom line.
Bugs don't get fixed for a long time, unless they are survivor bugs. They've proved this time and time again. See the nurse speed glitch and huntress glitch.
Balance changes in the last 6 months have all been major nerfs to killer and buffs to survivor. This patch is no different.
They always fall back on the give it time and we need data, but with the number of matches that happen per day, it shouldn't take more than 2 weeks for balance changes to happen. Funny that they manage to get cosmetics out quickly. Its almost like balance and bug fixes don't bring in money.
This game isn't dead because it doesn't have a quality competitor.
It's not a tinfoil hat theory if its actually happening. They don't care about killer, this is getting more and more concrete with every patch. They will continue this trend until it hurts their pocketbook.

The lobbies take so goddamnd long to load that i forget. It's always irritated me, but I can usually catch it on the lobby, not so much with a key. Since literally everything except perks get auto unequipped, it would be nice to at least have a little icon that shows what you have equipped.

3 Reasons why I think this:(
(1) killer mains or survivor mains complain about every thing:( which made the game unbalanced :(
(2) when devs add in a new killer or something then comes the complainers next:( then something ends up getting nerfed which then upsets other players:(
(3) players leave because of one change:( which makes match making broken :(
Devs fix your game before it's too late:(
Also listen to your player base:( no one asked for ruin to be nerfed even though I don't use it my self:(
You did this with other perks too:(
Now look what the game has become :(
It has became a unbalanced game:( fix your game or sale it to another game company:(
This game has no competition currently, which is why it won't die. As soon as a top publisher comes out with a competing game, this one will either fix it's crap, or die.

4ked against 3 man swf. All swf members have over 1 000 hours and there s one solo player with 150h.
They struggled to fix 2 gens by the way thanks to "nerfed" ruin.
But i guess those survivors just did some mistakes which led them to total destruction.
Lol, 3, 1k hour survivors and one 150 solo. I would dominate that team too. When I open the profile and see nothing but 2.5k-5k hours, that's when I know it's not going to be a fun game.

Nurse was and still is the strongest killer in the game by far and the players that were good with her before are still good with her now - without using perks (shadowborn only). The biggest change was the add ons, removing the Omega blink and extra blinks, was really needed because it made nurse incredibly easy to play as, and for such a strong killer a high skill cap is needed.
She's definitely not weak now, she's still the strongest - what I hear most from Nurse mains though is that it's less fun to play with her base kit right now, that there's a frustration element to it.
Do you any data to back those statements up? YouTubers, streamers, bhvr stats? I understand that you take the stats with a grain of salt, but she has the lowest pick rate and the lowest kill rate. It would seem to me that if only the skilled played her long term, then her kill rates would be very high.

Basically title. Cosmetics are one of the best things in the game, imo, other than the actual gameplay itself. It keeps the game visually fresh and it's fun to customize different outfits.
Playerbases from games like Overwatch and Fortnite are huge on skins and customization. But in DbD I mostly see characters in their default clothes or bloody prestiges. Especially strange to me since so many cosmetics can be bought with shards without spending a dime.
Because I come from an era in gaming when added content meant adding gameplay. I have no interest in visual style, I want proper gameplay and new content that changes how the game is played.

For a semi-new reworked map, that one Springwood map is just awful.
The school tile has too many safe pallets.
In one corner, you have a two-story house that is a complete gamble if you can manage to force a survivor to jump out and get a free hit.
In the opposite corner, you have a basement also known as the "house of pain" taken straight from Haddonfield. A total nightmare to deal with that safe tile... GOD FORBID you get a god window that spawns there.
I just feel like this map is just really awful, especially given that it's honestly not that old. Depending on where I'm hooking someone, I feel like I'm forced to hard camp if two survivors are nearby... It's just not fun whatsoever.
Feel free to vent about bad maps. I just wanted to get this off my chest...
Badham basically has three infinite loops. Any survivor with half a brain can loop the killer for a long time.

Every time I see someone complain about noed in post game chat xbox or psn messages they almost are always running the perks or all 4 of those perks mentioned in the title? Why is that? You have 4 good solid perks vs my 3 I currently have so how is it unfair?
Because they're used to an 80% escape rate thanks to a strong perk combination and devs that cater to them, so when they die, it must be a perks fault.

From my experince on xbox and pc its ez 4ks almost most game as billy at rank 7 on xbox and rank 2 on pc. I only get tryhard swfs who gen rush every 10 to 15 games
No, not every game. The other night I was playing nothing but rank 1 teams, got 3 kills in 10 matches due to gen rush and toolbox builds. That was miserable and made me quit for a few days.
Last night though, I got a 3 man ruthless against red ranks, then a team that wanted to meme around with object and crouch walking. I played along, two hooking everyone, then letting them go.
So yeah, a lot of survivors take this game easy to seriously, but some still enjoy it.

Why do you sound so killer sided? You realize there are issues on both sides right? Survivor side can be depressingly not so fun because of killer efficiency too man. Especially with the slugging thing and how stupid cheap melee hits are. They need to take the melee range down on the killers. Why is it they’re a mile away when I’m on the other side of the vault going down is beyond me. I understand some people have gotten good at looping but not everyone is Good at that. If the killer gets any stronger or anymore buffs I’ll consider quitting survivor side too. More often than not killers can still be really efficient. How about they take away Mori’s that are robbing me of my 2nd and 3rd hook? Like it’s ######### up on both sides. I want more of a chance. Unless you’re telling me this game is designed for the killer NOT to find anyone all game. It’s just a short lived experience on survivor side sometimes and it makes me not wanna play leaving with 5K points after getting slugged and tunneled all game. Stop your Fvcking complaining on killer side. You’re mad because you feel if you can’t get all 4 EVERY single game than it’s not fun to play? Are you telling me you’re not finding or killing anyone all game? When I find people playing killer I put people the Fvck down Every game. I might not get everyone but it’s really not that serious.
Rank 6 killer with 350 hours. Played 10 matches 2 nights ago. Lowest hour survivor I got was 1500 hours, lowest rank I got was 4, most teams were rank 1 swf. In 10 matches I got 3 kills total. I'm not asking for a 4k every match, I'm asking for balance. Devs need to open their eyes and try playing the truly good survivors, because this game is a garbage heap right now.

Mid chapter is what they said previously. I don't think it's going to help much anyway. Not enough high skill killers, so you're either going to have long waits at high skill, or the same mismatch that we have now.

About the only good thing i can say is this game has helped my anger management, because nothing can piss me off more.

"But it's alright because you NOED, and whilst the Survivors were too busy focusing on gens or helping each other they forgot to do totems. Now they're all down because they panicked."
If we're going to assume Perks set-ups, play-styles, etc, then the discussion is pointless because there are endless possibilities of what can happen.
Stick with the parameters of the situation and work with that.
The team of rank 1 survivors with 2500 hours in the game don't panic with noed.
That same team always runs ds, unbreakable, iron will, and deadhard.

Baiting pickups does take precious time. That's two survivors not doing gens! Also, slug the one that's down, and chase the one trying to blind you.
And you have two other survivors hammering out gens while you're dicking around. Oh and the guy you slugged has unbreakable, so you lost the hook and you're still chasing the flashlight guy.
