I'm religiously on PC now. I dropped PS4 like...months ago.
Obviously I still have my account but....like....why? PC is so much better.
Welcome to pc fellow mate, I hope you enjoy it long enough on this platform :)

Run Iron Will? Great, I can get by that.
So... what do we do when she runs stridor? Run two iron wills?
Use no mither 4head!!
Stridor spirits are reeeallly annoying to verse, can't move anyway against that

Right now, it's not active yet. The hit validation testing starts tomorrow (just in case it interferes with testing for the other changes). But yes, the hit will appear instantaneous and you'll immediately react to it as if you hit them, but if your connection is really bad, the hit will appear to be undone on your end (if you're the killer). The survivor will never see the hit.
At what time will it be testable?
-
I think pig is in a right spot balancewise. So lets go out of our way and think about how to nerf her.
Here is my idea: we add a random factor that when attempting to trap a downed survivor you have the chance to trap yourself by accident and you have to check the boxes for the key (no auto shown).
I think this change will make piggy more skillful to use.
-
I'm only upset when I give a Bubba the chase of his life and only 1 gen is left... then he camps me with revved chainsaw and my team mates throw the game and kill themselves one by one attempting to safe me. This is super annoying. Only happens in solo q.
Pls, just leave and don't feed him. Make my chase worth it.

Hit validation hasn't been added yet, it's being added to the PTB tomorrow.
Was about to say, I haven't noticed a difference

they probably are not allowed, the leaders of bhvr are holding them back.
I personally don't think that someone like @Peanits or @not_Queen agrees with these Billy changes but they hands are tied up and raising their voice could cost their job

"some cleaning up" is a nice way to describe how dirty they did Billy.

Oh man this is accurate. I have over 400 ultra rares on Nurse and they are just chilling in my inventory collecting dust. No use of them

agreed! It was necessary. People are upset because they can't mindlessly spam Billy's chainsaw anymore. 🙄
Explain to me how loop curve attempting is "mindlessly spamming chainsaw" is. Seriously maybe I'm missing something your high IQ can explain it to a moron like me and eventually I have just to press a Key so I can ascend to an omegabrain.

Was that really the reason they justified the ruin nerf? I remembered they said "because it punishes noobs more than veteran survivors" but I might remember it wrong because it's been to long ago for me

In which meaning is this pay to win? Do you even know what it means? And do you know that nurse is still the strongest killer?
It's still pay2win if the strongest free2play killer needs hundreds of hrs of playtime to be good at and maybe 1k hrs to master her... When You simply can buy spirit or Freddy and do very well after 10 hrs.

Enduring = I'm not sure you need it since ideally you won't be eating pallets.
Monitor = Iffy. Smaller TR means you might not be able to mindgame medium distances since they're now outside of your TR. If you're in a chase, chances are your target is within short range.
I usually use Stbfl, Pop, BBQ, and a flex slot.
Me as someone doesn't play spirit often totally agree with this suggestion, very helpful perks on spirt.
-
Because why not? Always change a running system, never heard about that?
-
What I expect: nothing. If we are lucky some bug fixes and wacky animations fixed.
What I want: Billy reverted.

Not kidding bucko, people can change and that includes the BHVR team, not being optimistic is pretty bad as well, give them another chance at redemption
For how long am I supposed to stay optimistic before dropping the coin? Another 4 years? At one point I try to look reality into the eyes and base conclusions on past actions.
It's veeery unlikely that the devs will listen time.

I am the winner because the nerf will go through and the only ones affected by this are going to be what, the 15 people that actually are able to play billy to perfection? Who cares about them seriously.
See, can't stay on topic. Grow little kid.
-
Same was happening to me, I see multiple map offering like the game, haddonfield, Hawkins, the new silent hill map, Lery's...
As If Billy isn't gutted enough they take the oppurtiny to make it even easier for them.
At this point we should get some bot survivors in the PTBs so we can test out every change in calm and peace without 10+ minutes waiting times and toxic survivors abusing anything they can to annoy you.
-
@SirCipher said:
@DwightOP I would as well. I have my own list of people who are super toxic towards me or anyone else in game. It's starting to get rather big.
They're the ones who get the Ebony Mori ;)

Lol really... it does not seem like a "minimal change" described in dev update at all
Oh well, devs are always trying to hide behind these words. Remember when they called nurse nerf "slightly"? Apparently slightly enough to make 90% of the nurse mains drop her.

The point is that you CANNOT bring other killers up to Billy's level.
How would you bring up for example myers to his level?
Stalk would need to not be limited per survivor which would break addon balance.
Even weak billys can hold m2 against 90% of the potatoes that seemingly don't know what windows are, even freddy doesn't snowball this hard.
Now you bring a completely different topic to debate and dodged my question. This is messed up now. You just try find anything to stand as the winner of the discussion. I'm not going to deal with that unless you stick to our topic.

I'm not sure if there even could be a legal issue. Maybe from telling the reporter exactly what happened?
It would be nice tho to have an email just stating "Yes, we have received your complaint and yes something has been done".
I feel as tho their entire report system could use an overhaul more in favor of the reporter. But as I stated above as long as they're handled then I'm happy. Them letting us know would just be a bonus IMO.
I really would like to have the bonus tho, I have a full txt file of steam profiles who were obviously cheating but I can't keep track of who got banned or not

Except those games do not happen regularly enough for 99,9% of the playerbase so why even talk about it, it's the same argument as with marth88's experiment, the devs know that a survivor squad will always beat ANY killer except nurse, should they balance a non-competitive game around 0.01% of the community? hell n.
You act as if every killer is a professional killer. If there are noobs on the survivor side so are noobs in the killer side. What's you point, I missed it.

@Mandy said:
@DetectiveBingBong sadly no, whilst I would love to see a way where you know your report was acknowledged, we don't currently have a system for this. It might be something that's changed in the future but I don't think it's high on the priorities list at the present time.
Are legal issues preventing you guys from telling the reporter what happened? Or simply not implement? Would be great to know when a cheater is banned or not
-
100% Huntress gets an "addon pass" because of iri head... And a basepower cut off: can't hold hatchets long enough or something stupid like that. Or maybe you can throw a hatches every 10 seconds because her arm has to rest after throwing one.

Mandy, I really support the DBD developers, even when they make questionable decisions, but I don't think this is the best way to go about making Hillbilly require more skill.
If the developers wanted to make Hillbilly take more skill, they can do that without reducing his skill ceiling. For example: Curving was one of the most skillful things an experienced Hillbilly could pull off, but now the Overheat Mechanic removes the majority of that potential. If the developers wanted to punish improper use of Chainsaw without removing skillful use of the Chainsaw, add a cool-down after missing, not canceling the rev, with the Chainsaw.
I know you're probably stressed right now with all the comments jumping on you, but I can reassure you we all want the same thing here: to see DBD become successful! 😊
This would be a real change targeting the "more skill" goal for sure. Is good? That's a different debate. But at least it would hit the main intention. However the current change made exactly the opposite: it removed skill and just nerfed the killer.

There was no real reason to wait until the PTB. Anyone who watched the preview video and analyzed it could tell it looked bad. Getting hands on time confirmed it, and even confirmed it's worse than expected which is surprising.
Yes some people overreacted with Game is dead, but at the end of the day Billy's "minimal change" is a very hefty nerf. Now we'll see if BHVR does as expected and just pushes this through, or if they'll do what top players suggested and revert changes and fix some add-ons which pushed him over the top. I honestly have very little hope due to past trends.
I can only agree with you... My hope are nearly non existent if I'm being honest... To See the guy in charge for balancing (that guy who paints his finger nails, I forgot his name) saying live on stream that clown is just underrated just explains to me how they came up with such a Billy nerf...
The only hope for DbD is when bhvr revisits the balancing team and recruits new and fresh players to work on this. Ideally streamers who are very good at the game.

Im now imagining cooldowns on EVERY killer. Huntress gets a cooldown and if you hold the hatchet up too long, she's gotta massage her arm because those hatchets are HEAVY.
Oooof it's funny on one side but scary because that's exactly how I would imagine bhvr nerfing her

Yeap, It's an actual scam and a huge middle finger to everyone that took time to master hillbilly.
And here we are slowly moving more and more to a pay2win system for killers
-
Ghostface is pretty good with fast recovery addons, going into stealth mode very often is when he shines.
Glad you enjoy him, but they took away my favourite killer :( hope you can enjoy GF long enough before bhvr does him dirty aswell
-
Overperforming? Overperforming is a killer who takes not much skill and can 4k every single lobby of legacy survivors while you just put your first 100 hrs into the game.
Reality: put 4 legacy survivors against a legacy Billy and it's going to be 1 kill and 3 escapes. This is reality. Billy "overperforms" against noobs who only M1 at gens and that's it. But every killer overperforms against noobs.
Billy takes a tremendous amount of time and skill to master him, especially when you try to master every little trick and the most satisfying called curving. Billy has a very balanced basekit with enough depth.
U can try to call Freddy overperforming or Spirit, that would sound much more reasonable and would open serious and genuine discussions. But definetly NOT Billy.

Still a player test build, if the change stays when reaching the live build then thats when the issue comes in, believe me its fully possible BHVR learns from mistakes. Just stay optimistic
Omg are you kidding me rn? Imagine someone believes the ptb feedback will make big changes happen. What you see I'm the current PTB is exactly what you will get on live build. They will do miniscule number changes and that's it.
You tell me to stay optimistic as if this is the 1st ptb we ever got. So many PTBs in the past showed us that feedback is not taken serious. No matter how many people come up with logical and reasonable feedback changes (even with videos showcasing issues and big streamers talking about) they don't listen to it.
-
@brokedownpalace said:
But there's nothing wrong with people who said to wait until the PTB. Now we know for sure that the nerfs go too far. Now we can complain with evidence to back it up.
Knee jerk reactions are rarely or never good even if they end up being right in the long run. It's not the people were saying "these nerfs seem too harsh, I don't think Billy deserves this, and here's why" it's the people who were saying "BILLY IS DEAD LETS ALL LEAVE DBD THIS IS THE END OF THE WORLD BHVR ARE MORONS LETS CAMP EVERY SINGLE SURVIVOR IN PROTEST"
There are 2 things wrong with it:
1. Not using your brain to make a logical conclusion based on the information already provided
2. Not learning from BHVR's history of PTBs.

okay but the spirit nerf didnt change of the issues survivors have with her, and if you think the freddy rework was a nerf not a buff idk what to tell you
True, they missed the point on spirit nerf and went overkill on Freddy. But many people pointed it out on both sides. But you don't see this pattern most of the time, you have to admit it's mostly the exact opposite (like Nurse and Billy to name the recent bad ones)
-
@OutcastEric said:

I disagree that nurse is still the best killer. I think spirit beats her 2x over now. Unless you're a robot and can hit all of your blinks. Then sure nurse is better. Spirit is more consistent at ending chases now, isnt map dependent like nurse is, and is a 110 movespeed killer. Plus spirit has way better addons with no downsides to them. Except the amulet. Which was again...over nerfed
I agree Spirit is overall a better killer just because of the fact that Nurse is so extremely hard to master. You will get better results with spirit than spending the same time on Nurse. Therefore it's really not worth it to pick nurse just to be a little bit more powerful after spending 1k hours into it.

So you think BHVR, a capitalist company, is actively trying to push consumers away and drive themselves into bankruptcy?
They already made 113 million dollar, they can do what we they want at this point. And they will obviously try to make it more and more casual friendly for survivors so they earn even more golden noses.
-
@Callmehandsome said:
Survivors are majority of the playerbase. So obviously they will always be slightly biased towards them. Couple years ago they said that they would be too scared to nerf billy and they have been gaining courage by nerfing less used killers like; nurse, spirit, freddy etc. If you cannot accept this fact that you need to switch playing survivor (like i did) or just quit playing. Nothing will change
But survivors were mainly comparing about:
1. Spirit
2. Freddy
3. Iri heads
4. Huntress hitbox
5. Deadzones
6. Deathslinger quick scopes
......
99. Billy With cracking addons
This doesn't even represent survivor bias anymore
-
As killer: oooof, not touching him anymore
As survivor: oooof no fun chases against Billy anymore because I will only verse Freddy and spirit now
What a lose lose situation, they achieved nothing with this change but pissing off more people from both sides.
-
@Todgeweiht said:
Yikes, I get why tho, considering the time you get the most heat is when you are revving your chainsaw, those add-ons would immedeatly become top tier because they would allow you to not gain as much heat and rev quicker at the same time.
Yet engravings still increases charge time. Yeah, devs are not nerfing Billy, "Just minimal changes"
