Some loops are still infinite loops in the game against 110% speed killers if they didn't have blood lust.
Also part of point of the game is that you WILL go down as a survivor and its your job to stall for as long as possible to help your team win.
110 killers are not M1 killers. They are 110 for a reason. They should use their m2 to stop a chase.

@IamB4tm4n88 said:
Outdated??? Ha. Sounds like a true survivor main. Its not just about catching up to a survivor, its about ending a chase quick to get to a gen. Plus a pallet knocks him out of BL anyways. Infinites were a horrible thing. Every survivor main now is gonna say "A smart killer wouldnt chase for too long" then you have no knocks, no hooks and still 5 gens getting done because of how quick you can get a gen done especially with the buff to Prove Thy Self. How about this then, take bloodlust out and add a feature that makes the survivor exhausted over time for holding doen the sprint button for to long. Take away sprint burst cause its "Outdated" also say bye bye to Dead Hard because its also "outdated". Before everybody goes off saying im a killer main, im not I am a 50/50 player lever 4 Survivor and a Lvl 5 killer well before rank reset today. Ive played this game for 4 years and it gets worse and worse evrey year with its balancing updates. Not every loop should be safe. Its called skill
Sure, I'm a survivor main who is asking to not nerf Billy. Makes so sense. Check my post history before making such a stupid claim
-
@Hoodied said:
Uhh, Bloodlust is used to confirm that eventually the survivor will go down or get hit, and removing it will bring a spike out of killers that are strong inside and outside of the chase, I.E killers like HillBilly, Nurse, Demogorgon, etc just so they can apply pressure to generators faster or even purposely exit a chase. And reworked maps still have powerful loops, just the extremely powerful ones are gone. Along with what I said, indoor maps will definitely bring issues as these maps usually have alot of vaults (Lérys and Midwich) which will indeed require the killer to have BloodLust to catch up to the survivor faster so they can defend generators
I personally down survivors just fine without bloodlust. Bloodlust 1 rarely kicks in before I land a hit and I can't even remember the last time saw BL 3 on my screen. Simply because I'm good at chasing down survivors, even as an simple M1 killer.
Those who can't shouldn't get handhondeld. After all the map reworks it has a similar vibe to me like old MoM
-
@SCP_FOR_DBD said:
I don't feel like its that big a problem considering it takes a while to start up. Short and unsafe loops getting even shorter and unsafe with the length of the chase makes sense to me.
To me it doesn't make sense that a killer gets handhondeld in an already winnable chase. The worse player shouldn't went out winning the chase.

If Billy was a new killer being introduced, you can bet your ass there would be complaints about him.
The devs can’t do ######### without people like you whining and crying that it’s unfair.
No there wouldn't be.

Yes but they try to listen to both sides and make as many people as possible happy. And there certainly were people that felt like Billy's base kit was just a bit too strong.
Basekit? Barebone Billy to strong? These are noobs. Addons ok, but basekit Billy was to weak sometimes.
-
@FFirebrandd said:
Let's go back and look at what the devs actually said, shall we? "For the most part, we are happy with the way The Hillbilly performs."... "Given that we’re already pretty happy with the way The Hillbilly performs..."
Those statements are not the same as "Hillbilly is fine." That "For the most part", heavily implies there's at least something about Hillbilly's power they weren't OK with... and the changes make it clear what that thing was. They weren't quite happy that god Tier Billies could basically ignore the existence of his hammer with no down time. Did they make the overheat mechanic too restrictive? Yep. Are they fixing that? Seem to be.
And it was his strong addon combination. Like everyone said.

They’re trying to find a middle ground. Maybe try being civil instead of acting like a bratty child who didn’t get the toy he wanted for Christmas.
The middle ground was already there!!! Maybe try to be logical? If bhvr and 99% of the community saw basekit Billy fine, what are you trying to achieve with a change? "middle ground"? Lmao get out with this nonsense
-
"Blue bimbo" killed me :D
I agree, I still still don't get why they change a fine killer instead of all the other killers with issues
-
@[Deleted User] said:
Damn, they could have just not changed him at all but this is a clear sign they are listening to the community and actually trying. What a way to be ungrateful lol.
They shouldn't have changed him the first place.
-
What annoys me the most is the community right now. BHVR throw us a bone and the entire community starts defending them "uuhhh don't be so entitled, be happy that they listen and gave us something"
Yeah, I guess I have to be happy and remain silent now since bhvr isn't slapping my face but instead spits on it. Yeah.
-
I hated deathslinger day 1 and it has nothing to do with Billy. His design is terrible, like instant quick scope shots with 0 seconds reaction time for survivors? It's so obvious how bullshit it is.
And deathslinger isn't even strong, 4v1 against good survivors and he get steam rolled. But the 1v1 us soooo freaking boring and unenganging like spirit.

We've taken feedback on add-ons as well, don't worry. There's only so much time to make changes between a PTB and the actual release, and that post is just for the changes that are locked in for the initial release. It's still possible that there will be some add-on changes in the hotfix, but I can't confirm that just yet. We could also make further base kit tweaks in the following hotifx(es) if necessary.
Well then it would be smarter to mention it in the post instead of making it look like you only made the rev heating change

Be thankful they even listened. These changes make the heat mechanic sound like it will be a realtively minor thing to deal with when playing Billy.
Why should I be thankful if I'm still not touching it? Should I be thankful for what? That's a tiny bit less annoying? Thanks I guess
-
No, it was in the game before nurse chapter release

Listening? They haven't even adressed the addons issues, or the new animations everyone has to learn again, what are you on about?

Ask again in 2 years when bhvr milked another 50 million dollars with new content.

It's a poorly optimised game. Even on pc. From my emote steam library (130 games) dbd has the worst performance.

Yep. I want to move to PS4 since crossplay is coming, but I also don't want to have to buy everything again or get all the perks for everyone again. I P3'ed Cheryl dammit! And have every available perk on Pig.

Why won't you answer the question? Who's "we"? The way you said it makes it seem like the devs are actively doing things nobody wants, even though the literal hundreds (most likely close to a thousand) of "nerf Hillbilly" threads everyone who's been on the Steam forum and this forum has seen over the years prove otherwise.
Do you want me to list names now or what? Freaking hell some people.

Oh well, you will have a LOT more grinding in front of you if you want to get all perks maxed on everyone. And don't forget that the perk and character pool is increasing every 3 months. Good luck on that (I wouldn't try tho).

I mean yeah they are starting to run out of ideas, but I've been seeing this more for perks rather than killer powers, like Killer perks now a days aren't as good as the originals like stbfl, bbq and chili, and so on, now there are some exceptions of course with nemesis and deathbound but at the sametime it feels like ideas are just running dry and they can't think of anymore good killer perks without it being stupidly powerful.
Oh yeah they lost ideas on perks when they released huntress I guess. Occasionally they get some inspiration and bring 1 good perk on the entire dlc and that's it. I swear they force themselves to create 3 perks every time and it's going more harm than good because it's only polluting the Bloodwebs more and makes it more confusing for newcomer. They need to stop being this stuck in the "always 3 perks per character and always 4 DLCs per year" mentality because eventually noone can keep track on it.

Dbd might not be the game for you. Theyve been making killers that specificallt stop looping, or at least make it much harder, since doc. Anti loop killers are literally never going any where
Uhm duh, just because I don't have fun against certain killers I have to dodge dbd? What kind of cavehuman logic is that?
-
Yes easily the worst. I'm actually impressed how the devs could create a map which makes playing on it so unenjoyable for both sides at the same time.

Why did Nurse and Hillbilly get nerfed if survivors find them fun? For me Plague and Freddy are fun to go against, i can agree with spirit tho
Because they were the only killers standing a chance against swf. Key word is CHANCE. And swf groups want to continue bullying killers. And generally baby survivors keep crying.
Oh and trip, once the Billy nerf gets pushed out people will play spirit and Freddy instead and Bhvr will takle them aswell.

What makes Demo unfun to go against and mid tier? I'd say he's the 2nd most fun to go against after Billy and low A-high B tier. His power isn't uncounterable and he actually has mindgames to it with risks for both sides, aswell as a pretty fair traversal mechanic with counterplay and decision making
Edit: nevermind, somehow I read deathslinger as demogorgon
My bad, I forgot demo. Yeah, he is fun to go against however he is not really that strong imo. He can easily get genrushed like clown and can get hard cocked by certain maps

"Run in a zig zag" - thats not how this game works, you lose distance, you get hit. Theres plenty of clips from zubat alone with him just ADSing repeatedly and jokingly saying "outplayed" after they dodge a shot they have no way of knowing isnt coming.
Having skill thrown out the window for guessing isnt good gameplay
Lmao sounds crazy, can you share such a clip :D

That's probably MMR running secretly already. Since 2-3 weeks im versing only sweats, probably because I play sweaty aswell and MMR says "well you are supposed to play sweaty players only now".
As soon as I play poorly on purpose or go afk a few matches I instantly get bot lobbys again for a few matches till I roast enough bot lobbys to verse sweat lobbys again.

Just calling something unfun and badly designed is a bs argument and its 100% subjective, i dont find any of these killers unfun to vs, but then i take the time to learn them and understand their counters.
It's not about understanding them or learning the counters. I know them very well. It's just unfun. Doesn't matter if I win or lose, I simply don't have fun against them.
-
@anarchy753 said:
I've gotta say, I flat out don't understand the devs' design pilosophy half the time.
Look at Huntress, she came in and they were like "ok, we have a ranged killer, so to compensate we're gong to make it so that survivors have a really large area that lets them know she's around."
Then Deathslinger comes out and it's like "ok, we have a ranged killer, so let's make him stealthy af, like no terror radius until you're already in shooting range, and add ons that can let him shoot you outside TR."
Generally, since Legion every single killer is bad designed but with oni being the expection.
Spirit - unfun to go against and bad designed (at least strong tho)
Legion - unfun to go against and weak (mid tier at best)
Deathslinger - unfun to go against and mid tier at best
Plague - unfun to go against and mid tier killer
Ghostface - unfun to go against but at least kinda strong ish
Pyramidhead - unfun to against
New Freddy - unfun to against but at least super strong
Like idk, devs are creating so bad designed killers...
Back then: Billy fun, nurse fun, Myers fun, Huntress fun and then it kept going down hill. They are losing ideas and since they force themselves to create 4 new killers every year there is just bullshit created.

The problem with "they don't listen to X" is that you're conflating "listen to" with "act upon what is said". They are not the same thing.
If I want to accomplish a goal and you tell me I should try X, but I try Y instead, that doesn't mean I didn't listen to you. It means I disagreed with you that X was a good idea. Given that the game has grown a lot since launch, I think the devs are on the right path, even if the vocal minority believes that they're not.
Dbd hardly keeps players. There are as much joining as leaving. Just take a look into the global achievement and you will see how bad it actually is.

I mean, I suppose I get what you're going at.
But... You're taking the sloth route.
Automated Anti-cheat systems are generally unreliable.
They get the job done sometimes, but primarily, it's through *Community Communication* that gets most people banned for cheating.
That's how it's been for some time. Nothing gets the job better if you don't do it yourself, especially not an A.I.
Then I wounder why I encountered more cheaters in the past 2 weeks than in my entire 5k hrs previously. Something is obviously going wrong rn.
-
@GoodBoyKaru said:
If you have Video/photo evidence just report them using bhvr's system? That's how you get them banned?
I rather have them not cheating in the first place (like previously years) then going thro all the process of reporting ingame, uploading footage and making a ticket (doing it anyway tho) and also dealing with cheaters in a match

I... can't quite answer that to be totally honest. After four years of playing a lot of people get jaded, burnt out, tired of it all. Not me I guess, I'm still just as lively and hopeful a fire as when I first started, just a lot more experienced and understanding now I suppose. So I guess you could say that faith comes from some weird sense of perseverance
I mean, am I wrong to think that despite all the mistakes that have been made in the process of developing this game that they've still done a pretty good job so far? From a practical point of view the more mistakes the better, because that's how they learn and grow, how they figure out what works and what doesn't, and creates a more solid and clear view of a foundation of experience to build off of that makes the project better and more refined.
A lot of times balance doesn't even come from a pure and perfect state of being. Often for many multiplayer titles they may never be able to attain that pure balance, that perfect version of the game where everything works and flows together entirely smoothly. Rather, balance comes from the constant see-saw motion that comes from the decisions being made, the constant teetering of back and forth movement that favors one side and the other. This thing and the next. I don't know, it's somehow a comforting thought.
Honestly that's probably not an answer, certainly not the one you were looking for. I bet you probably expected me to cite the good decisions they've made in the past like the great Freddy rework, or the Doctor rework, hell even the Ruin nerf was decently successful, etc. other things like that. Maybe I should've mentioned that stuff.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Dunno, it is what it is. That's what I decided to write.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying bhvr is always doing bad. The thing is tho, once they have done something they most likely won't change it. Be it a good change (doctor for example) or a bad change (nurse for example). To often they just leave it as it is and EVENTUALLY tweak a few numbers and that's it. That's my issue with bhvr and my non optimistic view on it
-
Rank 16 killer is probably a smurf or a good player who had a long break.
