They usually get the hatch tho. Your best bet is try to escape. You can struggle afterwards if you want.

If you had a decent chase or two, some altruism and objective you are fine anyway. Don't get tilted by others because you will act irrationally and do things that aren't in your best interest.

Most hatch hoverers once they find the hatch stop helping at all. Most of them never helped to begin with. Hatch hoverers seem to hide the whole match and wait for their team to either do everything or leave by hatch. I don’t want some selfish Claudette getting away while everyone else worked.

  • @KolbyKolbyKolby said:

I'll die for them, there is literally no winnable outcome in that situation, with two people left there's never realistically a scenario they can both escape.

Yes but most of the hatch hoverers are people who just hid the whole time not helping anyway

No offense but also I see your icon is a huntress icon; I take it you main huntress?

I say this because If I mained huntress with these current hitboxes every map would seem fantastic lol.

Alrighty nevermind then, carry on :)

I love huntress but I’m not good at her. I wish I was :( I dominate usually as Trapper though. I’m better as him.

  • @HollowsGrief said:

It looks fantastic but it is WAY to safe, it needs a serious nerf to how many safe pallets their are (which is basically all of them.)

Idk I still hate the map but just hate it slightly less. Most killers can usually dominate on that map no matter what. I never win or my team for that matter on that map.

Those potato survivors you get must be something else. Even not that good survivors know how to abuse the heck out of that map.

I play Trapper usually. I always trap the heck out of windows and pallets so.

  • @danielmaster87 said:

Old The Game being killer sided is still one of the biggest joke arguments in this game. Even assuming you did get good door and pallet RNG as killer, gen rush still applies, map splitting destroyed you, and the god pallets were all still there. And now there's more god pallets. It's the new Haddonfield now.

Anytime I play that map as killer(haddonfeild) I usually dominate.

  • All this update has done if give crap killers free wins.

Nah, i'm joking. You can't trust Megs. Most of them are playing terrible.

you can usually count on a Meg for hook saves for the most part

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I was about to come raging into this thread by the title.

Huntress is the best designed killer in the game because she has very high skill ceiling and is not easy. She can be balanced by numbers instead of a power rework.

But you meant the hitboxes. Which has to do with hit validation, latency, desync, as well. So fixing those would not be easy. In Huntress's screen, hatchets are usually legit. Doubt they can fix these in the near future, if they haven't been able to fix it the last few years.

Well I guess I will have to be extra careful with her axes

  • @Jarol said:

I'm Main Ash too along with Quentin and Steve, you love me :D

    Indeed I do lol

That's funny I ran into a Meg with a facemask that would constantly lead the killer to you, slammed a pallet in her face she got down I unhooked her and she played nicely afterwards.

Oddly enough I decided to be nice and save the body blocking Meg from the hook. She too became nice after that.

  • @offwhiteknight said:

Ash is good. Meg is okay. I stay as far as possible from any Bill.

Claudettes and Dwights are the worse. I groan when I see them in my lobby.

  • @halfmanhalfape said:

The survivor emblems are broken atm and I deranked to purple ranks, and the teammates are really god awful.

I just suicided on first hook as I saw a Cheryl walking within 5m of my hook, forward, backwards, forward, backwards, while the killer was already off chasing someone else. Not to mention she is only 5m away from the hook, you might as well save at that point.

Get me out of this game right now!

That’s one weird thing about this whole update. All the survivors know the game is ten times harder for them now. But instead of playing it stealth or smart they are being dumber than ever. I can’t tell you how many times I start the match with someone and they immediately start running and vaulting everywhere.

  • @mouse0270 said:

I basically die on first hook for few reasons:

    1. Killer is Doctor, not that he is hard to play, but he gives me a physical headache if I play against him to much... And This game isn't worth actual pain to play
    2. Killer is huntress with Iri Heads, once again, not that its hard, it just hurts me to the core of my soul to see it happen.
    3. I am playing solo and no survivor saves me before stage 2 and the killer isn't camping. If you a group of people don't make an effort to save me in 60 seconds then I really don't want to be playing with them.

Are these good reasons? nope... Do I care? nope...

I don’t mind playing against huntress until recently. I can’t dodge her axes anymore. Had a match where I saw the axe fly by me, no where near me, and still got hit by it. How can I dodge something that I dodged and still got hit with?

  • @Reverent said:

You can trust Meg. Same, like Ash.

I would agree with that until one Meg I encountered. She was a PC player cause she got that awesome Mask that I so want that is exclusive to her. I saw the killer coming and messed up and failed a skill check. I tried to book it behind her. She stopped bodyblocked me in the doorway and let me get hit then moved and ran. She punished me for an honest mistake even though we would of had to run anyway due to the killer coming.

You can't just fix latency though, there will always be latency in online games

Then how am I suppose to juke and dodge the axes if that’s an issue?

  • @OniWantsYourMacaroni said:

    It's Latency

    That's all

    Well fix it man!

  • @WishIcouldmain said:

That's more polishing her then a rework.

I guess I used the wrong word. Just saying it’s hard to dodge an axe when you think you dodged it, see the axe fly by you, and still get hit.

Made up story by a jerk DC’r.

The killer downed me, and it was obviously unfair because I’m SOOOOO amazing, so I DC’d to screw everyone. Totally awesome right?

  • @DjangoTheGhostface said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/227335/killer-mains-must-be-loving-the-new-update

Rage post aside, why don't you play killer then?

Yeah thought so. Ask me and I'll have the same reply no one wants to play that ######### longer than a match or two. Also please tell me you're a pc player because ive been playing nothing but survivor and the hitboxes are bullshit....like usual. But ive seen many PC players phase through hits that i would have got hit by on the otherside of a pallet and around a corner

I play killer sometimes but not as much as survivor. I like both honestly. But I’m not the best at killer and I’m a console player. So anytime I get a bunch of PC players in the game I know I’m going to get wrecked and tbagged on. I have a rule where I only accept two cross play players per match because I can’t handle anymore than that. Plus I’ve noticed if one PC player starts to be toxic the rest start mimicking them.

  • @MochelMyersWetcave said:

It's a bad patch for both sides.

No reason to Fall into the circle jerk of Killer bad/ Survivor good and vic versa.

I wasn’t really blaming killers per say. Just being a bit salty and snarky. It was more directed to the devs than anything.

  • @Aneurysm said:

killer gameplay feels mostly normal, so meh. Annoying hits on survivor are annoying but I've escaped most games since the new patch.

I'm not sure why you're telling off killers as if they were responsible for this patch instead of bhvr's incompetence.

I wasn’t telling off killers. Not their fault. Just being a bit snarky is all

  • @Alice_pbg said:

"Had a few teammates before lead the killer right to me to lose him and then he downs me and hooks me"

how do you know it was on purpose? it's way more likely they simply were running towards the next loop and you were there.

on topic, I almost never suicide on hook. and when I do, it's to give someone hatch.

and if they make no effort towards saving me, I stay on hook as long as possible.

to me, playing the current match > going to the lobby and queueing to the next one

Cause I was working on a gen and I had a clear view of the survivor and killer. The other survivor had a clear view of me and made a beeline to me. He could have easily lead him away but didn’t. He changed his course to come to me in hopes of me getting downed to save himself.

  • @EntitySpawn said:

Honestly if you quit or ######### on first hook because you go down fast, dont like the killer or have a survivor accidentally lead them to you in a chase then please stop playing, its honestly annoying to wait in queues just for some loser to rage quit, you won't get better if you dont try and stick at it, all you do is ruin the game not to mention its kind pathetic to suicide on hook within the first min or at any point in the game

I’ve only started killing myself on first hook when I get downed in this update. Cause it seems either i or one of my teammates get spawned near the killer cause the killer hits someone in less than five seconds of the match starting. I’m not playing that match cause we are basically already screwed

  • @KlapzCheeks said:

Was playing against a Freddy who tunneled and camped. The first tunnel DCed and he facecamped the next person. I went in for the save got downed but saved them then hooked and camped. I killed myself on hook then got a message from the Freddy. Theres no use in staying in a game where the killer tunneled someone to DC and your camping. So ######### on hook and make sure they depip just like you.

what did the what did the Freddy say to you? EZ win I bet lol

  • @IWasLeft2Die said:

If its my teammates fault I get hooked and they make no effort to save me as well as anyone else's ill let myself die. Mistakes happen but at least try to help resolve your mistake.

Similarly, I had a teammate and I remaining and he blatantly refused to unhook me because he found the hatch. I was on my first hook and moved to second hook and I saw the killer going towards him. My teammates was motioning for me to let myself die but I was committed to staying until killer got him. Killer downed him and hooked him then I left myself die. Sweet justice

Lol I do the same thing. I try to stay on as long as possible when coward teammates pull that stuff. The minute these cowards find the hatch they stop doing gens or just helping in general. Though they mostly hide throughout the whole match anyway till everyone else does their job for them. I want them to die with me.

  • @TheeclumsyNinja said:

I love the survivors “game is so killer sided now have mercy!” Lol tf outta here with your flash lighting/tbagging/god pallet looping booty.

I don’t tbag or anything just to be toxic. And I can’t work a flashlight to save my life.

  • @BuggyNurseMain said:

Bruh wym, you think the hitboxes are better for killer or something? You don't even play killer, stop talking like you do. Disgusting.

Bruh, I do play killer. I play both. Stop talking like you even asked me if I did or not.

  • I also have a rule that if I spawn next to the killer or nearby and get hit in the first five seconds of the match I just give up and let him take me. I’m not playing that match at that point and sadly since this update either me or a teammate is hit in the first few seconds of the match.

  • Not to mention either me or one of my teammates are spawning near the killer. I just had a match where I spawned near a killer and take two steps and was immediately hit and downed before I knew where I even was. It’s like they decided to take a hammer to this game and just pound away and hope it still works in the end.

Spirit, nurse and Freddy are used because maps are larger and it is easier to navigate with them. Large maps favor these killers. Small maps will have less distance between gens and more LoS which means it's highly likely other killers will be played over the three strongest ones.

Well anytime I have gotten The Game it’s always been up against a Nurse or a Spirit and they stomped every survivor in the matches. The only non-teleporting killer I’ve encountered on the Game was Ghostface and while he wasn’t as bad as the teleporting ones we still got ruined.

  • @Moundshroud said:

I keep hearing about these broke hit boxes and wondering when do "I" get to have one. :) I've been playing a Tier-1 Myers and have NEVER whiffed as much as I have in the last several days since the update. Did all the Killers but Myers get a broken hit box that is bigger, while mine is even smaller than before? :)

Most of the broken hit boxes are coming from killers like Freddy, Doctor, Ghostface, and Leatherface and Clown. Probably more honestly.

  • @Zeus said:

Aren't these good changes? I'm not sure about survivor POV and haven't experienced anything unusual about it so far.

As for smaller maps, it means less holding W and wasting time depends on survivor skill and not by how long you can hold a button

Smaller maps means teleporting killers like Freddy, Spirit, and Nurse can easily dominate the matches. And if this is true and becomes more widely known. You can guarantee to see a lot of killers using these three for easy wins.

Killers are sick of survivors tbagging on the the other side of magic bus invisible wall and abusing fat shame spots

Fat shame spots are everywhere, including for survivors. I’ve encountered them all over the swamp map.

  • @Warcrafter4 said:

You say that in the same update that has given "The Game" up to a literally 24 pallet spawns per(The average # of pallets per game from what I know is 8-12).

Also playing a killer who has to manage their power is disorenting but is outright nightmarish if you also are using Devour Hope/Whispers making it so you also have to look at the bottom right corner constantly.

This is making you literally having to look around the screen in circles just to try to get all the info you'd need which is eye-straining to say the least.

I’ve played the game map a lot since the update, and while it gives survivors a slightly better chance, due to it being a small map and the large hit boxes, neither me or any of my teammates have gotten away, much less even finished the gens. The closest I ever got to my team and I winning a match on the game map was when we managed to get the gens down to one.

  • I guess I’m being kinda snarky here but every killer I’ve encountered isn’t even pulling punches or showing a bit of pity. They don’t have to but darn. Since this update I’ve at least tried to let one survivor live. It just feels like unnecessary try harding when they honestly don’t have to due to the update giving them a free pass. I’ve even had killers recently keep hitting me on the hook cause I dared to try sometimes even if it’s pointless during the update. Idk it almost feels like the broken hit boxes have brought out the worst and toxic killers.

  • Well right now I’m over Tier 14. So I think I’m doing good so far.

Yeah they've done a lot of under-handed sneaky changes like this that no one ever talks about . With every map change they've made - the map is shrunk down significantly in size - but the number of hooks remains the same too.

Is all this true? I never noticed? I need evidence!

  • @TimeOutTimmy said:

Sure it is playable, but by no means is it what I would consider fun. Survivors who are experiencing the hit issues cannot gauge any distance when it comes to a killer.

I dropped a pallet, killer didn't get stunned, but he aimlessly took a swing and I took a hit. The clown standing at the top of the stairs hitting me while I am at the bottom.

I normally have no issues maintaining red rank. I have went from a rank 3 to an 8 within the past 2 days. It is so ridiculous, it has become comical.

Same has happened for me as well with the clown. He can hit me from a mile away. Makes it all the worse because of that mocking laugh. Like he knows it’s messed up.

  • @whammigobambam said:

Not unplayable just extremely unenjoyable. Which single handedly defeats the purpose of gaming. I kept asking for horror in the surveys. I did not expect them to follow through by gutting the game.

What better horror than making the Killers near undefeatable and always winning?

  • Just another rift and such. It’s my first rift event so I want to beat it.

  • It’s gotten to the point where I’m even the weakest killers are dominating all their matches. I gotta say it’s a great time to be a killer. Just sucks for everyone else.

  • Honestly I would be right there with you if it wasn’t for the limited event. I really want the rewards so I’m having to hate play the game to get them. Hopefully after that and if the stuff still isn’t fixed then I’m taking a break.

  • im a new player. Just started a little over a month ago and just in that month and since it’s update I’ve seen big changes and fewer players. If they can fix this quick then the players will come back, but every day they don’t fix more and more players leave and may not come back for awhile.

  • @ArthurPadula said:

The tunneling has gotten way out of hand. I just played against a pyramid head who tunneled me off hook with borrowed time and DS, and still he came for me. It's too much. This game's biggest problem is it's players.

Honestly I would stomach the tunneling if it wasn’t for the fact that now it’s a guaranteed hit for the killers due to the outrageous hit boxes. Oh pyramidhead sees you a mile away? Better swing now cause it will still hit.

  • I’m a relatively new player. Only been playing for little over a month. However I played so much that I seem ranked up to 4 on survivor. Ever since this update I want to quit and be done with this game. I honestly didn’t think this game could lose me so fast. If they could just fix the hit boxes first and foremost I would be happy and slowly work on everything else. I just had a clown hit me from the bottom of the stairs while I was at the top and nowhere near him.....a clown....I mean....come on. Right now I’m honesty hate playing through it cause this limited event is my first in dbd and I want to see it through. But wow, what a way to introduce new players like me to this game.

  • What happens to the killers? Do they eventually get used up and die too?

  • @NickChinchill said:

I think lore-wise, the characters slowly become husks from being killed too often and losing all hope, finally being completely devoured by the Entity and becoming lost. I think that the idea of the survivors 'breaking free' approaches a sort of conclusion; if they escape then that breaks the premise of the game and ends the story. If death is not an escape, but then an escape is found elsewhere, why die?

That said, we've been getting more Survivors tied to the Entity directly in some way - Elodie and Felix's backstories mention a group of people seeking to stop the Entity somehow. It might be that there's going to be some kind of event or lore drop that ties up the story and releases the survivors from the game loop.

    That would be pretty sweet.

  • @animalmak said:

My friends and I did it one time because we were playing a Ghostface who was stealth basement camping. He got two people down there and hung out, so I (stupidly lol but I didn't realize) went to rescue and also got caught down there. Last person escaped through hatch because it wasn't like we were escaping the basement anyway if he was just going to stealth upstairs and wait for us to get unhooked. We just didn't feel like stayng in that match longer than necessary and were fine with the depip because it would have happened regardless.

I had that happen with a spirit. She camped the basement and started hooking everyone. I managed a wicked save on two people there after she finally left for a second to get someone running. Eventually though she got everyone and I bled out. I wasn’t going to let her hook me and made her work to find me. Luckily she never did.
