Me too, bro, but in pvp game community like DBD it is hard to find respect. Here are too many bad educated people with the emotional maturity of a toddler. And in the internet they all have big balls, cuz u barely can punish them for offending u.
I get it. But until I get a notice or something from devs I think I’ll just stick to this method of dealing with toxic survivors. I’m not great at the killer and honestly I don’t think I will be. I can’t be like the twitch streamers who instantly take down all the toxic survivors. I’m just not that skilled and I don’t think i ever will be. I just have to deal with them my way and if the devs ask why I do the corner play, I will just say “it’s a strategy “ lol

Yeah, I think this is the best strategy. Bully squads often suck big nuts cuz they just wanna hav u a bad time and refuse to do gens. I dont like to play against them, too. NTL I try to get'em all :3 But I don't judge anyone for waiting in a corner :) It is actually sad that so many people still behaves like big a**holes despite the lack of killers we have...
All I want is a little respect. I see it like a sports game. Refs and such call out and penalize unsportsmanlike conduct and since the devs don’t want to ref and make sure we have a nice and clean game then you’re forcing me to be the ref in a sense.

Well just be careful as you never know the pettiness of the people you’re playing against. I don’t go AFK, but when somebody desperately wants me to chase them, I just ignore them as they normally continue to follow me around and I’m completely fine with them not doing generators whilst I down their teammates. 😂
I get all four or at least three pulling the toxic card. So it’s hard to ignore them. All night I got nothing but toxic red rank SWF teams. If I get reported so be it. I refuse to force myself to chase and give in to toxic survivors. They don’t learn to be nice that way. Maybe losing a pip will make them think twice. Next matches I had all the survivors played nice and so I played nice. Downed a few, some escaped. Etc. I’m fine with that and it was fun. Being forced to play against toxic survivors or else punished for DC or AFK seems mighty unfair.

You could actually make everyone depip that way. Afk=everyone depips.

Can’t you be reported for this? I’m pretty sure it would go under going AFK. So be careful.
Perhaps but they seem to never do anything about people being reported. And I wasnt AFK at the beginning.

But that's the thing though. Most killers arent hard. There are maybe two that actually take a decent amount of skill. Nurse, and blight.
I think how you play needs to be a factor too. All these killers play well and are easier on PC but are either broken or insanely hard to play on console. I tried Nurse on PS4.....once. It made me sick to even look at it and I couldn’t really do anything.

Slinger is a c-tier killer that takes practice. Stop thinking that you can just pick a killer up and do well with them. It's not a healthy mindset.
I’m on console and from what I seen apparently he’s harder to control and aim on console. I’ve had people lined right up in my sights and still miss. I wasn’t expecting to pick him up and be amazing. But I could barely get a hit with the gun. Most of my downs came from just smacking them.

About the in-game labels, I just realized it puts the easiest killers as "hard". Freddy, spirit, Michael, ghostface,and oni, for example.
Personally I don’t think Ghostface is easy. Maybe Intermediate. But it is odd how almost all the killers are labeled hard. Makes it seem like the devs don’t want people playing Killers or purposefully making it difficult against survivors, which they seem to favor greatly.
-
@Dizzy1096 said:
Sometimes it’s a good strategy. However if you see the killer is clearly making some big mistakes and they resort to camp & tunnel off the bat its very likely they’re a victim of the emblem system and matchmaking. Both killers and survivors end up in red ranks by playing a lot when they dont belong there, for killers its often carried by camping and tunneling weak survivors and trusty old NOED.
Now they’re doing the only tactic they know to somehow try and stay afloat at red ranks.
I’ll be honest, I’m not a great survivor or a good killer. However I play a lot and now I’m in the high ranks and I don’t think I honestly belong there. I wish either the ranking system was tougher or it would give you an option to manually depip.

I’ve actually seen an increase in toxicity from killers recently, I’m not even going to lie. The difference is, I don’t receive abusive messages from them. One of the most random things I had recently was a Clown who hadn’t downed me all game and he found me whilst I was trying to find the hatch. He downed me and just stood over my body throwing bottles so I just went to make a sandwich because he didn’t seem like he was going to give me the hatch. I returned about 10 minutes later and he’s just carrying me around the basement on his shoulders? lmao.
Why would you waste so much of your own time to be a dick? I wasn’t bothered by this as I went to do other things, I just don’t get how he got pleasure from it and what I actually did to ‘deserve’ it? Just because I hadn’t been downed all game didn’t mean I wasn’t being productive. He chased me on 3 different occasions and kept giving up. So was this his way of ‘punishing’ me for knowing how to put up a good chase? I mean, good for you Clown? 🌚
We might have had the same clown then. I had one do that to me as well. Constantly throwing bottles at me after he downed me.

Replayability of survivor comes from chases and intense moments (imo).
Replayability of killer is the thousand different approaches you can take to beat a survivor team through strategy or mechanics. Survivors are essentially one trick with their movement, wouldn't you expect them to run you forever if you could only pick one killer?
Don't be so lethargic, the best part of killer is its difficulty to master. You just haven't seen it yet.
It’s not being lethargic. It takes more skill and time to be a killer and you don’t even have to really try too hard at being survivor cause you have three others picking up your slack

I agree that noed is infuriating and should be changed to feel less ######### for the survivors, but as everyone else has already said, the outcome of your match was not affected by noted at all. If you wanted to be chased a little longer in the endgame I get that, but you were going to die either way.
The outcome may not have changed but it seems like overkill when it’s just a 1v1 scenario.

They shouldn’t be matching 1 ranks with anyone above a 4 or 5
How we feel the system should or should not be is not the explanation to what the system is supposed to do.
A rank 8 can be paired with a rank 1. That's just how it is. Also yes, its possible for what you saw due to how long queue times have been.
And what part of it’s still broken do you not get? It’s a broken system and their new way of mmr is terrible as the last.

+-8 ranks. Thats the scope of MM.
And I’m saying matchmaking is still broken. Here’s another screenshot just now. They didn’t fix anything at all. It’s still as bad as ever. 3 rank 1s and a rank 2 vs rank 7? Yeah that sounds like nothing is wrong at all

We once played against a wraith who made it clear from the start that they were just farming. We all went along with it and had a great time. We played around with the Wraith the entire game, dropped all the pallets so they could break them, let them constantly break the gens, and let them hook us all twice. We had played with plenty of farming killers before and done this many times, so we didn't even bat an eye at this. Like all the other times before, we thought they'd get their two hooks each and let us ago (again, happened every time we played against a farmer) except this killer decided to turn at the last minute. After our second hooks - while we were healing each other - the wraith slugged and hooked everyone, getting a very easy 4k. In the end game chat the killer apologized and laughed about it. Since then, we haven't really trusted farming killers anymore. It was a lesson learned, which was kind of sad since those tended to be the most fun since everyone (us and killer) always had a good time in those rounds. Live and learn.
Only takes one person to sour everyone else for a long time

I actually just had one last night. I was already dead but I played with my friend and he was the last survivor in the trial, and the Pig took him over to the hatch making him think she will give him hatch. As soon as she carried him over hatch, he went on the hook and then the Pig started hitting him on the hook. That was so messed up lol.
I’ve had a Freddy do that to me once. Took me hatch. Dropped me and closed it. Then put me on hook and repeatedly hit me.

Tbh I've run into that person before, they are a known toxic player who grossly harasses survivors. It's just sad that they never do anything technically reportable really, they know what they can get away with and what they can't.
What did he do?
-
@Mr_K said:
Been awhile since I've heard the term "hook vacuum". 🙄
Killer has ~15s to get you on a hook. If they were able to hook you after one breaks in front of them, then you were too close to the 1st for your teammates to save you.
The game wants the killer to hook you after winning a chase. So the act of hooking isn't supposed to be difficult or a struggle to do. Would you rather killers slug everyone before attempting to hook? Because that's the alternative.
I’m just saying if there’s a hook less than two feet away from another that’s bad hook placement. Especially since there are perks to help sabotage hooks and tools. There is no point in having those perks at all if hooks are right beside each other

There more survivors than killers.. for obvious reasons. So sometimes you will get paired with higher ranks than you to reduce que times.
I would prefer being given an option. Wait a little while for a more evenly matched game or instant match. I don’t appreciate being thrown into the ocean when I can barely swim.

So hiding in a locker when there is 2 survivors left then when you get downed after opening a gate to 80/90% only to hop of the hook with deliverance and then using sprint burst and DS to get to the gate anyway is fair? Because that’s what y’all are doing to us.
I don’t use any of those meta perks.

These posters are all correct. MM will try to fill lobbies will everyone of the same rank, if it can not do that it instead expands the range of ranks +6 or -6. As SWF uses the highest rank for MM that would mean this group would be matched with killers between the ranks of 1-7.
However if the MM can not find a killer within the +/-6 rank range it will expand the lobby to any ranked killer to ensure people don't have lengthy queues. As the devs have explained in a recent dev stream, their is not enough killers, particular red/purple rank killers, playing during peak hours (evenings, weekends) when all the SWF groups play. So hence why mismatched lobbies are so common.
The only way to fix this is to get more people playing killer at peak hours. As they will never put a hard 6 rank limit on MM as that would force surivors to have 10-30 minute wait times all the time at peak hours.
It seems the devs only care about survivors. They should honestly look into why there are so few killers. Cause you know....that sounds like a very bad issue for a critical role in the game.

That is technically correct matchmaking.
Don't get me wrong the ranking and matchmaker are garbage, but technically it's working as intended.
Anyways, I wish reporting people sending messages like that was possible, you can do it, but nothing will come of it. That's another big problem with the game. I just had a SWF t-bag me on haddonfield cause they got out...like no duh you escaped, I literally have no ability to stop you.
How is that working correctly? All red ranks, no purple. All of them are 4 or more ranks ahead of me. All three on comms and such.
-
@Raja said:
They won't do nothing about it and people will just make excuses like "the game will die without swf" or "I use comms to talk to my friends not call out killer position" which is a lie.

Of course they admitted they were in a party on comms so my traps were practically useless

Try disabling cross-play.
Sometimes you just get unlucky.
3 of them were all PS4 players. Only one was cross play. And I must be the unluckiest person ever cause all I ever get is red rank survivors.

@Pilot said:
Seems like you ran into one of those bully squads.
They are rare for me but 99% of the time they fail miserably.
If you're still upset about it, perhaps a small break from the game will help. I know from personal experiences. I've had my blood boil a few days ago lol.
You can blame it on an unlucky night. We all have those.
Why am I getting all red ranks. 4 red rank survivors and I’m a level 8. I’m nowhere near their level and I got tossed into the fire.

It’s suppose to be a chase. But the way killers “chase” feels like a pleasant stroll through the park.

@JHondo said:
The killers I feel move faster are Ghostface, which I think it's the sound of his cloak is like the wind rushing past so he just feels faster, and oddly enough Hag which I think is because of her hight she feels faster despite being slower. All in all I think a lot of it has to do with sound design and character model. Demo feels slow as hell due to his loud pounding plodding foot steps, same with Oni and Charlotte, his armor thumping along with his stomping foot steps or her pots and pans clanking with her heavy foot steps just makes them feel slower despite being 115%.
Wraith feels slow too. And there’s no reason for him to feel so slow. He’s a thin skinny man with no armor or anything yet he feels sluggish.
-
Maybe it’s just an optics or visual problem cause I know survivor side the killers look fast I suppose. However from the killer side it always feels like my character is just taking a slow crawl across the map. I don’t feel any urgency in my movements to get the survivor. When I play survivor I feel the character running and desperately trying to survive and get away.

I’m not saying that’s a bad move but people in this discussion were asking why I didn’t do this or that or tried to get her to follow me. I was explaining that she didn’t take the bait and there was nothing I could really do.

Why weren't you doing totems then?
If I come across a totem I do it. But wasting time constantly running around looking for dull totems only makes it harder to do gens. Especially when people are dropping like flies. Honestly usually you can tell if someone uses NOED cause they use other hex perks as well. She didn’t though. So I was on the lookout for totems during the match but it wasn’t a priority

In a lot of situations, I find myself running right behind the hurt survivor and let myself be hit.
I do that when it’s close to endgame or endgame. Admittedly I don’t do that off the bat. Especially with the teammates I had that would have been a risky move cause more than likely we would have both just been downed.

If gens are flying etc then it's a legit strategy but if not and they're doing it from the start they're just trying to be toxic and make the other peoples game suck.
The funny thing is they probably went against a group of survivors last game that they thought were toxic and lost and cursed them out saying how toxic they were. Then they're now being toxic to you in the next match, kinda ironic really lol.
He did right from the start. Only one gen was even done.

I wonder how everyone gets tunneled so hard; or if people's definition of it is just different than mine.
I was tunneled like two times today, and both times DS saved me. I've had far more killers who had chances to hard camp, tunnel someone, or do things and chose not to, then I ever have ones that choose to do that. I mean, most killers I get will actually take the loss of a kill even to not do that.
I like being tunneled tbh; I know I can run a killer, I take DS adrenaline and such and like running the killer. It sucks because I know I am not getting out generally, but I can usually keep them busy for so long that either all the gens are done, or teamwork forces them to go after someone else.
I’ve just noticed that both the lower and upper ranks of killers seem to camp and tunnel. Only the middle ones seem to not. But that’s just my experience.

In your op you said she was tunneling 2 survivors, now you seem to be claiming she was keeping pretty even pressure among 3 Survivors and still keeping enough pressure on you without hooks that you couldn't do much.
Which is it?
One survivor died really early in game cause she tunneled him first. He didn’t even make it to midgame
-
@AsherFrost said:
So the killer had a 3k, but wasn't pressuring you whatsoever, which means you had all the time in the world to do the totems and didn't. Then when NOED popped she got you because you still didn't hide or look for the lit totem.
I mean to be fair I didn’t really have time. I needed to do gens cause she was constantly going after the other three. I don’t want to be mean and say they were bad survivors. Maybe underskilled or just unlucky. I had to keep healing and trying to save them as well.

You don't just have to just stand there. If you were that good at looping, you could keep trying to bait her into a chase and waste her time. Even if she was in a chase with someone, you can body block for them if you haven't been hooked yet. It is not stupid to take the pressure off of your teammate. Your choice to not do so contributed to your loss.
There wasn’t much I could to force her to come after me. She wouldn’t even bother with me after awhile and just constantly search for the others.

Try inner and detetectives hunch, together they keep you Healed up and counter the Killer Meta /Ruin/Undying and other hex perks like NOED to the point that it's not even funny. You've still got an extra 2 slots for what ever you want DS, Unbreakable, BT etc.
Give it a go and let me know what you think. I can only speak from my own time running thus in my build, but it's yet to let me down...

Kinda yeah. You made yourself a non target for the killer by being more skilled so they went after everyone but you to create that end game situation since it was the only way to get you. Had you taken the time to get hooked earlier and kept yourself as a valid target for later your team would have had a better chance at survival overall as the killer may have had more inclination to chase you if they had downed you earlier in the match.
Or, she would hook me and then down the others before they could unhook me and thus the match ends quicker.

Part of being a good teammate is taking aggro for your team. If you haven't been hooked, you should be willing to be hooked in order to give your teammate a chance. The only time you shouldn't take aggro is if you have bad teammates that don't play properly.
She chased me multiple times. I’m not going to just randomly take a hit for my teammates or just stand there and let her hit me. That’s a stupid move.
