Every survivor in dbd hates NOED, Including me but I have enough hours to know there is a counter. Take 1 of your meta perks out and swap in "Small-Game". Sure, it isn't the most OP perk but it does counter trapper too. I honestly hate trapper the most so I run small game to counter 2 things and to buff 1 thing.

    • small game counters hag and trapper.
    • small game counters hex totems.
    • small game buffs inner-strength.

    RUN SMALL GAME, IT'S GOOD.

I rarely encounter Trapper anymore or Hag. It just seems like a gamble and a waste to run small game on the off chance someone uses NOED. Which I rarely encounter anymore.

Bragging about not having been hooked once while the rest of your teammates were hooked 3 times. Sounds like you got exactly what you deserved, for your bad team play to me.

How? I unhooked and healed them multiple times? You want me to just sacrifice myself to killer instead?

Can we please stop? No one was cringing when the Laser Bears competitive gamer girl got added to the game. No one cared when tons of flashy, brightly-colored, or even funny cosmetics made their way onto the store. But now because this DLC has the kpop label attached all of a sudden we're too cool for that stuff.

I have no idea who this ink character is, but if they actually make sense as a killer in a horror-themed game, I'm fine with it. If not, though, they shouldn't be in the game. "We can do whatever because we did kpop lol" is not a good argument, especially given that the new killer clearly does fit in the game lore-wise.

I meant if they can make Kpop work in DBD then they can surely make a killer, who is from a horror game already, work well in the franchise. He was arguing cause he was cartoony that it was cringe and can’t work.

Silent Hill and Left 4 Dead are also dead franchises from companys that dont give a crap about them anymore. But they were still able to join the game as a chapter and a paragraph. Then you have Dead Space pop up on a list of games BHVR put out for the community for what games they want to see next in DbD.

No I meant the company that made dead space is gone. It no longer exists. EA shut that company down a few years back.

Every post. And I completely agree that matchmaking is broken.

This is specific to dragonhensi's rank 15 v red ranks post.

Well how about this. I was in the match and you weren’t? So I think I know what happened.

I'm not hearing anything that leads to me to believe they weren't horsing around and not caring if you killed them.

Not everyone takes the game as seriously as you did.

He’s just being a douche for no reason.

  • You’re failing upward! Congrats!

So they were miles better than you.

But you claim you killed three of them.

    Because you tried hard.

    But they're the "tryhards."

Even though they probably essentially let you kill them.

The levels of cope in your post are just mindboggling.

Oh yeah. They just graciously let me kill them after tbagging and blinding me every chance they got. No they kept going for saves right in front of my face and all sorts of tactics. They were a party. The levels of snark in your post is mindboggling. What’s with the douchey comment out of nowhere dude?

  • @[Deleted User] said:

It's honestly disgusting and shows the lack of any empathy or care from the developers regarding the games health.

They are basically telling their players that if they are not good at the game- they shouldn't play at all. I mean the better you are, the less matchmaking matters to you, so you better dump thousands and thousands of hours into it then if you want to play AND have fun!

It's why I always encourage people not to play the game when my friends ask about it. It's the #1 problem, and thing I hold against the game and it's devs, and believe there is absolutely NO excuse for the state it's in. None.

I'll defend developers at almost any turn, happily it's a hard job I get that- but when it comes to this one specific thing in DBD right now, if I was a developer, I would be embarrassed, but I guess they have a thicker skin than I do.

One time I got three red rank survivors and a level 8 and at the time I was a level 15 killer. They of course bullied the crap out of me and played toxic cause I was underleveled. So I played dirty and camped and tunneled. Managed to kill all but one. Still, I shouldn’t be facing these kind of tryhards at such a low rank.

  • I’ve been rank 15 and such as Killer and I keep getting red rank survivors. It’s downright ridiculous

Half of these games? The only indie game is any of puppet combos games. The rest are from triple A developers like Rockstar Games, EA, Capcom, Bethesda, etc.

These options all ######### on Bendy and the Ink Machine lol. They’re much scarier than a cartoon, trust me. Go ahead and look up Manhunt, Dead Space, and Outlast. You’ll see why these are better options to choose from.

Dead Space is a dead franchise from a now dead company. Zero chance of that one happening. You also mentioned a deathclaw from Fallout, which was weird.

  • @MudSpit83 said:

Ehhh cheap and some expensive ones. Im thinking Nemesis, Piggsy, Someone from Outlast, Frank West (he’s not a killer but id love to see him in the game), Necromorph, Someone from one of Puppet Combo’s games, hell maybe even a Death Claw from Fallout?

Half those games you mentioned are more indie and worse than Bendy being a cartoon.

  • @MudSpit83 said:

    No

Why not? If Kpop is now allowed an actual cartoon character doesn’t seem so far fetched and bad lol.

  • @glitchboi said:

I really needa play the games lol, they've always interested me. Maybe the puddles could work like Freddy's snares with a twist?

That was what I was thinking honestly.

Oh. Well as a new killer you are going to get dunked on for a while. Just turn the chat off and ignore it for now.

I’ve been playing killer for years now and I still get death threats in the endgame chat. I think it’s hilarious; but I also don’t really get bullied anymore so it’s usually salt instead of smug.

Id recommend getting sloppy butcher and NOED in your build. Both are fine at level 1 and are better than anything you have.

Long term id really recommend trying to get corrupt intervention, pop goes the weasel, and enduring. You can use bamboozle instead of enduring too but enduring works at more loops.

If there is no obsession wraith is really good at farming survivors straight off the hook. Like, really really good at it.

That’s good advice too. I’m planning on eventually getting the dlc so I can get all these perks but it sucks I have to start right off the bat buying dlc and such

  • @Irisora said:

Grab your Enduring and Inner Strength perks and Knock Out their Overwhelming Presence to achieve a Calm Spirit of Iron Will ❤️😜

Now.. Dbd poety aside, if you ever find the typical douchebag just ignore him and go find another survivor, they don't like to be ignored and will make mistakes than you can take advantage of it to even kill them all. But if you are just chilling around ignoring and finding an easier target is the best choice.

If one is being toxic usually I do. But this time is was a whole 4 man squad of them.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

As others have said the game is just unbalanced. Even the 5000 hour sweatlord killers have the same experience unless they’re against potatoes and often the only way they win is by slugging the team. If survivors do gens you actually dont have time to hook them all.

Do the math. Say it takes you 20 second to walk across the map and find a survivor, 15 seconds to get that first hit, 20 seconds to catch up from the speed boost and get a second hit (survivors holding W can waste about 20 seconds), then you weapon wipe, pick up and hook about 10 seconds maybe. Thats a good case scenario and that’s 65 seconds, gens take 80 seconds so that only leaves you with 15 seconds spare. Considering the maps are full of safe pallets if you come across a good survivor its gonna take even longer.

Survivors start next to gens so if all 4 split up and do separate gens then yeah by the time you end your first chase even if it was a decent chase 3 gens are almost done. You can try to spread damage but with such large maps it can be hard early on to juggle a team.

If I had to name one must have perk I’d say corrupt intervention. Making survivors run a little further to generators and shrink the map for 2 minutes is essential.

But I’ve seen good players consistently have short chases. Every hit within 15 seconds or so and I’ve had it myself and yet the gens still get done. This is why so many are frustrated with the state of killer because playing well or going against a team of bad runners doesnt guarantee you a victory its still completely on the survivors depending on how aggressive they are with generators. The game is in their hands. Just like chases the objective speed has the same issue - its up to the survivors to make mistakes. Killer gameplay was apparently an afterthought to the designers

That does give me something to think about. Honestly I want to be good and not have to resort to tactics like camping and tunneling like I hate as survivor but at the same time it’s hard. Especially with toxic survivors.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

AH bully squads. Yeah it's frustrating, it becomes less of a problem at a certain point because after like 1000 hours or so you reach a state as killer where they can't really afford to diddle around too much to do that kind of stuff without getting punished to some degree.

Thing is DBD is just a game, and honestly I don't care if a mod comes in here and starts making a fuss- if they are being very toxic like that, just go into a corner of the map, face it, and go watch a show or do something else. I did that when I was learning and had groups like that, never did it in excess and was never banned even once because I rarely had to actually do that (genuine bully squads are really rare tbh)

As for what to do that won't start an argument here or bring a mod in here gowels a flappin', I suggest changing your mindset.

I mean, some people doing things like that are honestly not even trying to be toxic they are just trying to mess around and have fun; and you might find you can squeeze a lot of enjoyment out of those games. Just start acting silly and messing around; and odds are they will suddenly try and farm with you, or maybe just horse around and whatnot with you for a bit. If they are just trying to bully you, if it becomes apparent you are having fun with it....well you've just taken away the bully squads strongest power, they are not upsetting you like they want.

Lastly, another thing you could do is something more extreme. This is what I did to train myself for DBD mentally:

I just took no perks at all, no addons, nothing. I played low tier killers and played super clean and gave every survivor every advantage possible. It makes any victory even just one kill feel much better; and you don't feel as bad about a loss, while still learning a lot of things about the game and getting much better very quickly. You'll lose, a LOT, but you'll stop holding so much value in what you are considering a "Win condition". I mean the bullying only bothers you because what, you can't kill them if you wanted to? Well then, at the end when they go ggez and all have every meta perk under the sun and you have literally nothing, it really does make them look like quite the losers especially if one or two of them died xD

That is very good advice. Thank you. Means a lot to me.

  • @SilentPill said:

Play better, that’s it. Wraith isn’t the best to take into SWFs although with a solid build you can definitely give them a run for their money.

As bad as it sounds, with NOED you can basically have 5 gens to tunnel someone out and still get a 2k. Though a 2k is a loss to me.

    What is your wraith build?

I’ve only played Wraith three times. So I’m new. Deerstalker, Unrelenting, Shadowborn, and Predator. And I didn’t know they were SWF. They revealed that after.

  • @Canas said:

I fear there's nothing that can be done, this is why most killers want a way to detect SWF/premade groups just so they can dodge those lobbies. These sweat squads can be completely ruthless and are the biggest issue this game has in terms of balance and overall fun. All you can do is either go afk or outright dc.

They wouldn’t let me. And if I DC’d I would get penalized for it

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I main trapper as well, if you are willing to stream a match or two on discord I am willing to help you learn.

I suggest you acquire the perks corrupt intervention however as it's probably one of the most mandatory perks in the game for him, compared to any other killer even.

As for temperament, you need to understand DBD is a ridiculously luck based game with a tremendous amount of unfair things going on all at once; too many to list even a lot of the time. So you need to stop being so invested in a large win or loss condition.

I started playing Clown recently for example; I literally do not care about gens or winning the game- I will literally let them all do every gen while I chase some really good survivor because I am just trying to learn how to play Clown in a chase; I could give a ######### about literally anything else really. I do not care if I get downs, hooks, or kill anyone. All of that is now a bonus to me not the objective.

I actually gave Wraith a try for two matches. First match of course was terrible but I 3kd next match. He seems easier to control and quick. I like Trapper but I may need to try other killers too. I even like Huntress though I’m not good at her. Have Doctor a try and couldn’t really get his power down. It seemed rare for me to shock them. Nurse was terrible and made me sick to look at at.

  • @Omans said:

Watch how skilled killer streamers play the game. Find a streamer who explains what he/she is doing as killer and why he/she is doing it. Practice that.

Despite all the 'woe is me' 'killer is impossible' posts on this forum, the killer role right now (for a skilled player) is quite advantageous. The current matchmaking system makes playing killer...i don't want to say easy, because if you get bad map luck against a good SWF it requires a lot of sweating...but, like, I 3k(hatch)-4k around 90%-95% of my games. I'm a really good killer. I have 4k+ hours in the game. And I know if I go against the best SWF teams every game that 4k percentage will be much lower, but the fact is there just aren't that many great SWF teams to be facing them every game.

The problem you are having is that you don't have much experience as killer, and the survivors you are facing are actually touching generators, instead of rank 15-20's who would just hide and die.

Take my advice from the first paragraph. Start watching great killer streamers. Ask yourself what you are doing different from that player. Practice hiding your red light. Stop breaking every pallet and following the survivor like a puppy. Use mind-games. Learn spawn points.

Sounds like a lot to learn, right? It is. But, like I said, a strong killer can 4k most of his/her games at red ranks.

I keep getting red ranks and SWF teams in my matches. And I’m only rank 14. I can’t cross the 13 rank cause I constantly get my butt handed to me and matchmaking makes it worse

  • @bjorksnas said:

How to play well as killer

Do 2k hours of mastery of complicated strategies of both chase and mindgames against you opponent as well as learning to read their stategies before they even do them, as well as learn all you can about the killers you play and the perks you use

    How to win as killer

This one is subjective but the easiest answer is you win by having fun, thats right its not about killing all the survivors or keeping them at 5 gens for the entire game its about having fun and doing what makes you happy, you don't need to worry about objectives such as if they left. Winning because you are having fun should be the first goal and the traditional sense of winning should be a nice bonus on top of it but not a requirement.

I try to not let it bother me. But when they realize I’m not a good killer then the toxicity comes out cause they can run circles around me. I’ve done some good mind games before so I know not to just follow the survivor constantly in a straight line.

  • @bjorksnas said:

Doing a hex totem, in a corner, as the killer approaches, and not leaving it as they do to not be cornered

I have a strategy to counter that as well

    (don't do that)

It was a Nurse. There was no approaching. She was just there the second I worked on it

  • @[Deleted User] said:

My tip is don't spend any money on this game again. Perks won't carry you. Just master the killer you main and forget about winning because the game is actually unbalanced.

But a lot of people use BBQ and Chili for example. Which is a Leatherface perk. It’s just I Main trapper and use to do decent at least. Now I’m lucky to even get one kill.

  • @bjorksnas said:

Wait you are complaining that due to YOUR let me state that one my time YOUR poor maneuvering of going into a corner leads to you getting trapped which leads to getting hit

If you read my comments I said I was doing a hex totem

Not if it's Leatherface, to be fair. Although he'd have to catch OP with just an M1 Killer's abilities, so that's a pretty fair punishment/reward for them both.

    It was a Nurse

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/229858/bodyblocking-still-a-problem

I mean, if he's chilling there and staring you down, your whole team has free reign to pound gens. If you're just getting boxed in and hit, stop running into corners.

I was doing a hex totem and he came and boxed me in.

  • @crowbarman said:

If a real killer found you in a closet, my guess is they could body block you from leaving.

Have to say I feel a twinge of dread when I see the Blendettes or the base kit brown coat in lobby myself though. I run Kindred enough to frequently see what everyone is doing. The stereotype exists for a reason.

What a joke.

Yeah you’re just destined to eat dirt at that point.

  • Alright apology accepted. Just be careful. Accusing someone of being racist, homophobic, etc etc can be very damaging, especially if someone ever found out my real name etc. So if people ever accuse others of this stuff they better be real sure.

Everyone has their own generalizations based on experience. I for instance can't stand seeing Steve or Ash in my lobby. Nea as well for that matter. Why? Because they all play super aggressive but are bad at it. Along with the Nea's that urban everywhere.

Does that mean everyone who plays them is automatically bad? Of course not. We just tend to remember the negative experiences more vividly. Same is true with Claudette's.

I will agree most Steves I see play like jerks but I’ve had nothing but good experiences with Ash mains. They are usually such team players and always have your back and work hard to help their team.

  • So you accuse me of being racist then all you have to say is a snarky little sentence? Is that really all you have to say for trying to invalidate my experiences with people who play her and then just attack my character and call me racist?

  • @Frontdoor6 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1965764#Comment_1965764

    Not to mention kinda racist

And if its not that, it feels like thats whats going around lately. I've been camped, tunneled, left behind and betrayed many times because of possible racial issues. One guy even said they were racist

You really pulling the race card? That’s crap and you know it. I don’t like people who play this character cause they play her with the sole intention of hiding and never helping. Obviously one again, not all Claudettes (tm) but she has a stigma for a reason. I honestly feel the same about Dwights. They mostly hide in lockers and let their team do the work too. (Not all etc etc) so Am I racist there? Or I can’t be cause Dwight is white? Unless you use another skin for him I guess.

  • @ALostPuppy said:

I think you could probably narrow it down to just blendettes. Those players almost always do nothing but hide and you can't rely on them for anything. The scariest combo as a solo survivor on EU is a P3 Claudette and 'FR' in their username. I've seen quite a few of these players and they've all turned my survivor games into a 3v1v1. Every pallet I walk past I have to say a small prayer for it hope the blendette doesn't immediately kill it 10 seconds later.

Other Claudette mains are chill though, and they are usually good players. Except the purple jeans + orange smock ones, they'll DC after they get downed a single time, every time, without fail.

I haven’t encountered the smock Claudettes. I had a Kate though who DC’d after getting downed once. She didn’t even wait till the killer picked her up. Screwed us over big time in that match

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1966476#Comment_1966476

So already we've gone from 95% of claudettes to one specific player? Yeah, trash players pick every character on both sides. It's better once you work your way out of the mid ranks.

I was just giving an example because you were defending this Claudette saying she was probably doing gens and such. She isn’t the first one I’ve seen pull this kinda stuff.

  • @AsherFrost said:

    1. Rank 9 is about mid-level. There are 20 ranks, so it's almost smack dab in the middle. Getting rank 9 is as easy as playing 3-4 times a week with an average pip rate.

    2. In my experience playing Claudette I tend to find people like to assume what I have or haven't done. They'll see me right next to a broken totem, or newly finished gen and still assume I just watched some mystery 5th survivor do it. I'll unhook them and try to lead them to safety, and instead they'll run right into the hag traps because they think crouch walking is cowardly. Then they'll blame me, when they were the ones who were on the hook to see the traps placed.

    3. If any of these Claudette players really did nothing but hide and wait for the hatch, they are de-pipping every match even before the rank bugs, so they're literally taking themselves back to the kiddie table. It's a self solving problem.

Anytime one of us was hooked I saw this Claudette crouch walking everywhere never working on a gen. She was constantly searching for the hatch. Cause the minute I got hooked I watched her run straight to it, open it with a key, and peel out. That was her plan all along. Just escape through hatch.
