Why thank you for asking lol. It’s mounted to the wall with a corner wall map. The tv is so huge that we placed it near the ceiling on the wall

I will give you some tips to avoid this kind of games.
- If you think they are premade and they will crush you, lobby dodge.
- If you see 4 items and you don´t want to waste 1 perk slot in fraklin´s, lobby dodge.
- If they switch to key in the last seconds of the lobby, close game as fast as you can and reopen.
- If they have the same survivor and skin, 100% dodge.
- Obviously, if you see 4 toolboxes just doge, genrush incoming.
- If you see TTV and is online, check if they are premade and dodge.
But, if you want to improve as killer, with the suffering that improving on DBD as killer means.... do not lobby dodge. The faster way to learn is getting smashed by people better than you, and premades will be better 80% of times because they have voice chat and you will play with a huge disadvantage.
Dodging you will learn, but slower than facing premades, I used to dodge just for my mental health, but it is on you.
I don’t learn anything from red rank players except how good dirt tastes.

Yeah lery's is not necessarily a hard map to win on because I played deathslinger on that map a lot but it's so f*cking boring to play on that map, not just for deathslinger a lot of killers suffer from it because you can't use your power a lot. But back to deathslinger if you don't have monitor or survivors see you coming and they start holding forward it takes so long to catch up and some rooms in that map have structures that you can't shoot over, so yeah it's always a slog to play on that map
Not to mention it’s a got loops and pallets and vaults everywhere. It’s a playground for survivors. I usually am excited when I get that map as survivor. As killer no

this map is amazing for him, what? all the corridors are free hits and if they go through a window thats a free hit as well...wait thats like 80% of the map.
On top of this, he has a low terror radius so not only will survivors not see you coming, by the time they hear you, they wont have enough time to prepare for an escape.
All you have to do is hover around the many corners and such. Not to mention the whole team was red rank while I’m rank 12. The gun is useless in such a tightly packed map. Maybe you can make it work but I couldn’t. Not to mention that map is already heavily survivor sided.

This match was made even better when they put me on the Lery Hospital map as Deathslinger lol. I gave up after the first gen.

Look at this garbage matchmaking. Rank 1 Killer against all survivors nowhere near his league. What a joke this game is. Also I’ve faced off against this guy before. Same deal.

@DemonDaddy said:
How is mmr grouping though? Emblems were a garbage way of rating killers, what are the new factors?
I think they said it’s based on your skill or something. Honestly whatever it is they are doing it’s not working. I played survivor and these were my teammates. I felt bad for the killer. We easily outplayed him. It’s blurry on purpose to help not show names. Basically, all rank 4 and I was rank 9. Killer was rank 10.

@Patrick1088 said:
3 gens popping quickly is fine tbh. That just means they didn't touch the other gens. 4 gens are easier to patrol than 7.
Ive had people goof up on the last gen. I was Scratched Myers on Lerys and 3 gens popped quickly. I got 1st kill with 2 gens left. I killed the 2nd survivor as last 2 gens popped. But I downed the 3rd trying to go for exit gate. So at this point I'm looking at an almost guaranteed 3k. I slugged her since I was far from a hook. I didn't want her to bleed out, but I didn't want to lose the 3k lol but then the 4th comes and tries to rescue her and then down he goes. I hook him, but she is by the gates still. Unfortunately I let her bleed out and still got the 4k.
I would say never give up. Even if you have BBQ and get the 4 hooks you'll double your BP. So a modest 16k turns into a clean 32k.
An issue I’m getting though is I’m rank 11-12ish and keep getting purple and red rank survivors. A lot of them SWF. Unless I play during the morning I’m not going to get matches somewhat matched to my skill.

Not going to happen. They just released a new MMR system and from what I’ve seen a lot of my matches are still red ranks and tryhards
-
You know what. After the rift is done I think I’m done with this game for awhile. I’m tired of the matchmaking. Why is a rank 4 in my match? And yes I did DC cause two of them were SWF and all of them were very well coordinated and teabagged at the exit gate when I opened it for them.

I think sanctum of wrath is one of the worst map for killers. I don't know the stats but I can not remember the last time I won on this map, feels like I lose the vast majority of games when this comes up. It doesn't help how you need to camp one side and if you lose 1 gen on that side you're basically screwed.
It’s a great map for survivors. Awful for killers. The area is so huge that realistically even two killers would have trouble patrolling that map at one time

This is why I always take at least one early game perk on my killers. Corrupt, Whispers, or Discordance are all fantastic. Otherwise if you pick the wrong places to check first you will lose many gens and very quickly.
Id advocate whispers or discordance on ghostface either way since it will let you know when to be sneaky instead of walking into the survivors and having to M1 instead of stalk.
I never really understood whispers but that could work possibly with ghostface
-
I think part of it is my mindset too. If I get down to one or two gens and no one is dead I feel it as a loss. It just instantly demotivates me no matter how hard I try to pump myself up and shoulder on. That thought just burrows into my mind and just makes me what to let them finish and move on.

See that's a mistake. Hooking everyone once is good if you want to bloodpoint farm with bbq but if you actually want to get kills someone really should be dead by hook 4-5.
You really need to actively ignore 1 to 2 survivors untill someone is dead. I think someone on this forum called it reverse tunneling and it does make sense. Needing 9 hooks untill someone is dead compared to 4 or 5 is a world of difference.
You don't need to go hardcore tunnel into camp ofcourse but you do need to show a little teeth to stand a chance. You want to get the 3v1 asap and you want to defend hooks if you can.
Now it isn't easy. Like i said survivors hold all the power at the start and the smallest mistake can lead to a loss.
But keep the defend 4 gens and ignore 1-2 survivors in mind and it should increase your killrate quite a bit.
I hope it helps. It is a very frustrating road to become better at killer and i think everybody had that match where they scratch their head thinking what on earth they did wrong
If I do that I’m sure to be called a trash killer and camper
-
Whatever I’m getting a lot of hooks but no kills. Yay me. I’m winning guys.
-
@Sonzaishinai said:
While it is certainly disheartening you really shouldn't give up. There's a big difference between the first generator being done and the last one being done.
You can lose 3 gens in the first 2 minutes of the match and then never lose a gen again because the survivors made your patroll route so small.
I've had countless of matches where 3 gens were done in the first couple of minutes and then hold on and got 9+ hooks with a 3/4k.
The first couple of gens really don't matter that much
My problem is by the time is gets down to em the final two gens I’ve hooked everyone once. But with how fast gens go realistically you should have at least one or two already on death hook. I’m finding it very impossible.
-
@Sonzaishinai said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2019817#Comment_2019817
Yeah it certainly not the best.
The big problem of the game right now imo is that at the start of the game the survivors hold all the power.
All palets are up, killer has zero pressure. Large selection of gens. When they split up properally you can't defend all gens. It's impossible.
Over time the scales start going to the killers side. Pallets get destroyed, less gens to defend, people get injured and hooked. And once the scales tip towards the killer it becomes very hard to turn it back. Once a survivor is dead and the killer can keep the pressure survivors generally have very little hope to win. That's why so many killers try tunneling someone out
If you can't defend all generators against all survivors you shouldn't even try. At the start of the game look for 3/4 gens close together and focus on defending them. Corrupt helps a lot cause the generators blocked are ussually close and you can guaranty they don't get progress untill you get some pressure
Also try to focus on 2-3 survivors untill someone is down. Best case would be to hook survivor A then B then A then C and then the final blow to A. That should allow you to dodge ds while pressuring other survivors and still getting someone out of the game asap.
Also learn when to slug. It is vital to the pressure killers have. It takes between 4-20 seconds or something to hook someone. That's an insane amount of time to not be pressuring anything. If you didn't have to slug to win a match the survivors were out of your league. It is absolutly vital to be able to pressure
Now these aren't perfect solutions. You'll still get matches where the game ends before you can get the advantage. But it does help a little and the mindset of focusing on 4 gens to defend instead of 7 will help against the demoralising feeling of losing 3 gens before you were able to do anything at all.
Again not a perfect solution but it's what works best for me so far
Well I’m consistently losing. I haven’t killed a single survivor. I’ve hooked all of them multiple times but at the end of the day it’s the kills that matter and I’m not getting them. Survivors hold all the cards and I’m playing with a deck of blanks. I gen patrol, etc. maybe I’m just not cut out for killer. It’s way easier being survivor to me. I barely have to try and I usually get away
-

But if you can’t even hook Someone before two gens pop you’re in a bad spot as killer. That’s what I’m running into
-
It happened again. I can’t spend more than a few seconds on a chase or else I lose a gen. I do not understand. I managed to hook two this time once. But that hardly did anything. I still had 0k. I’ve never seen gens pop this fast. Maybe I’m just getting survivors who just want to do gens and get out but it’s so weird.
-
I honestly don’t understand what I’m doing wrong. Patrolling gens, I find a survivor, don’t even chase them for an insane amount of time, gens start popping. And before I know it all the gens are done. Just had a match where the gens got all done in like not even four minutes. I can’t chase a survivor for more than a few seconds and gens stop going off. I didn’t even get a chance to down one. I know I’m coming across as whiney but it’s just really confusing and disheartening

If you constantly see 3 gens pop before you hook a survivor, then you straight up need to improve your early game as killer. As the previous poster said, if you spend a bit of time learning survivor spawn points, then you don't have to play a guessing game on large maps. If finding the survivors isn't the issue, then you need to invest time in learning how to manoeuvre and mind-game around loops.
If you don't care enough to improve your gameplay, then I question why you would want to bother bringing it up on this forum.
This isn't just directed at your post btw.
I try to do the mind game but I’m in green ranks and I’m constantly put up against purple and red ranks. They don’t fall for it most of the time and I’m usually just wasting time. I have watched streamers like spooks and truetalent and whatnot but honestly it seems like everyone does so that’s a problem

Although I understand hearing gens pop as killer isn’t fun. I think you should also understand that without perks you might have a bit of a problem.
I still cannot see how you found no one and how 3 gens popped without you even being able to patrol. Something just doesn’t add up. Not that I don’t believe you, but that has literally never happened to me, even perkless. I will find someone in the time it takes to complete a gen.
What killer were you playing?
I was playing Ghostface and patrolled the side of the map I was on. All three gens on the opposite side pop while I patrolled those three gens.

You don't have a computer to edit? You can even crop a couple hundred pixels off the vertical axis to remove names. Anyway can you say you know survivor spawn points? Learn them with respect to where generators have spawned on your map. There's a reason why great killer players don't lose three gens before finding people.
I don’t know spawn points
-
if I’m being honest I played heavily these past two months and I guess something just snapped and i don’t enjoy it as much as I use to. Survivor a fun and all but I would like to play killer but it’s just demoralizing when you try your best and gens pop before you even get into your first chase. Then if you down someone according to the unwritten rules you have to leave them to be saved cause don’t want to be a camper. Two seconds later unhook and the whole chase felt wasted

Can you start recording your gameplay and post here? I bet when you spawned I would be able to tell you where the survivors spawn points are and therefore which gens to patrol first. This is something you really should invest your time in learning. Slap on corrupt intervention is a bandaid to your issue too. I see you've said rank 12 are out of your league and I'll like to remind you that you've argued with me about game balance and killer being too weak. I do agree it's too easy to rank up though, bad killers and survivors always seem to be skewed too high for their actual skill (more so survivor). 0
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2019603#Comment_2019603
This too.
I got banned for doing that cause I didn’t black out the names of the survivors. I’m on console so I don’t have editing tools.

I mean it's not "gen rush" it's their objective.
Unless they had like 4 toolboxes, 4 brand new parts, prove thyself x2 streetwise builds where that is ACTUALLY the goal.
Anything outside of that is just survivors doing objective.
I meant gen rush in the sense that all three gens were done before I could even move.
-
@BSVben said:
Why bother giving up? You might as well see the match out. You never know how it is going to end up.
I've had plenty of matches where it seemed like I was heading for a 0k turn on a dime.
The early game is always the weakest part for killers. The end game is the strongest for killers.
And if you feel like you can't patrol gens effectively (especially on large maps), identify your 3 gen opportunity and protect that. The survivors will have to come to you.
I was playing Ghostface and Didnt even hook someone before the three gen. I don’t want to camp and tunnel so it was a wash to me.
-
@Zaytex said:
Sadly, this does happen on large maps and you shouldn't blame yourself, it's the game's fault.
HOWEVER, you do have the option to bring perks like corrupt intervention which prevent those scenarios from happen, no wonder its one of the best killer perks right now.
I’ve only been playing a couple of months. Just finally bought some of the dlc but haven’t unlocked corrupt intervention. Whose perk is that? Cause I only bought Myers, Ghostface, and Deathslinger DLC

You are not the only one who feels like this. But the devs don´t seem to see the current situation as a problem. Since they introduced a new survivor perk, that increases gen speed.
I’ve noticed it’s almost a given you will lose at least two gens before you end a chase with someone.

Well, I am used to them camping. That's not an issue so far as my reaction is concerned. The issue is how uppity they get afterwards. If I were to camp (I have only ever camped at EGC to secure a 1K in a clearly bad trial for me), I'd own it. For that parenthesis, I did just that. I admitted I camped for the 1k at the end. I wanted some score. I was playing Plague in one of the largest maps in the game and they were spread out, and the map was from an offering, so ya. They knew what they were doing, and my reaction was pretty tame. They got their win, I got my 1k. People that go out of their way to ignore their actions and claim it as something else rubs me the wrong way, and players that turn INSTANTLY to insults and vulgarity because they did something THEY KNOW is scummy is like putting salt in my lemonade. I'm going to wince. I'm going to react. Even if it's just laughing at how insecure and poopy butt the player is acting, but ya.
I’ve luckily never had killers message me first after pulling scummy stunts. Unless I message first asking why they had to play like that. Said it nice and not mean. Then they turn on the hate messages but I guess I asked for it cause I messaged first.

Can we all just say it’s a crutch perk at least? And admit that DS is a crutch perk too to be fair?

I had a challenge a few rifts ago where I had to stun the Killer with Head-on as Jane. I was the last Survivor and hadn’t been hooked yet but wanted to try and at least get the stun, but the Killer would not come towards the locker I guess because they were not a fan of Head On.
Either way, they ended up messaging me talking trash the entire time and bitching and whining that they were not gonna come to the locker. After about 2 mins of me explaining that I had a rift challenge and getting trash talked, I finally just gave up and got out of the locker and allowed them to down me. When I did, they left me on the ground to bleed out and swung at my down body the entire meter as I just laid there waiting to die.
I was proud of myself because I wanted to DC due to how much of a douche the Killer was being and having to sit there bleeding out for a whole meter but, I stuck it out like a champ 💜

Had a Bubba once that managed to down me and slap me on a hook. He was hard proxy-camping my hook, never running more than a second or two away before coming back. The other Survivors did their best to get him to chase away from the hook, but he would always immediately run back. When the trial ended, the guy was an absolute hole in the chat. Had this cringey macho-man attitude that made it sound like he unironically wheres t-shirts with tribal tattoo designs and a grim reaper drinking beers and flipping people off. I checked his steam profile and it REALLY WAS tribal tattoos and middle-finger-grim-reapers everywhere.
Another was a match against a Huntress. Rank 1 super-sweat. Okay, whatever. We're down to two Survivors left, and I get dropped pretty hard. Not denying their skill, they clearly knew Huntress very well and chases were short and vicious. They clearly wanted to slug for the 4k, but also had hatch near where I dropped. So the Huntress would patrol a bit away and come back, checking on my slugged body and the hatch to make sure I couldn't get away. The whole time I'm bleeding out, and the other Survivor is wisely not engaging because it would be suicide. I ended up bleeding out, and the Huntress went after the last Survivor and eventually got them. From the moment I hit the ground to the end of the trial was about 7-10 minutes. Post-game lobby was just an explosion of insults from the Huntress because the last Survivor chose NOT to run in to their death and instead hide to see if they could find some avenue of making a play. The Huntress complained about our team being female genitalia, our overpowered perks (nobody was running smol-pp builds), and the respect I had for their skill completely vanished on account of how absolutely toxic of a person they were.
I have Killer Brain, even as a Survivor. I always look to see why a Killer may act in a certain way and give them the benefit of the doubt. That Huntress was well and truly beyond any doubt. They were an #########, there simply was no other explanation for the amount of BS they tossed around.
Honestly I don’t even count Bubbas as toxic anymore just the standard. I have seen more camping and tunneling Leatherfaces than not. I can’t even get angry anymore seeing LF players play toxic. I just assume it’s the norm for them.

I had a similar thing happen to me with a Michael. He was just standing at pallets and hitting them and smacking gens, clearly letting us know he wants to farm. We have 1 generator left and he gets to Tier 3 and pulls me off the generator and kills me. So the rest of the team fix the last generator and leave. He messages me to say sorry and that he was trying to get an achievement for killing everybody as Michael and he said we wouldn’t have let him do it otherwise. So I replied and said if he had messaged me prior to the game and asked to farm to get his achievement I would have happily let him kill me lol.
I only farm as a killer if the team just give up or if somebody has disconnected. So I’m always suspicious when a killer wants to farm from the start of the match. 👀😂
I’ve had a Freddy and a Wraith want to farm and surprisingly both let all survivors go at the end. I was hella suspicious the Freddy would turn on all of us but he kept his “word” in a sense and let us all go. I don’t mind farming. It’s a nice change of pace and it’s rare to come across farming killers.

Back at clown's rework there was a rank 1 killer who clearly thought they were extremely clever for playing IF slug nurse on the ptb, amplified with vigorous nodding and head shaking whenever she downed one of my teammates, who weren't the best ever.
But I was having a good day and she couldn't down me, or even get a hit on me. She also couldn't keep the others down bc I kept reviving them with WGLF. I kept going for a while until I remembered this wasn't actually what I got on the ptb for so just started following her around, crouchwalking behind her until she noticed. When she got me on the hook I was furiously kebabed all the way until death, with me cackling to myself irl like a cartoon villain.
Hit her with the gg wp and got a lot of Russian words in response which I didn't bother putting into google translate. I only hope we can see each other again in the non-ptb fog (or maybe not)
I’m surprised the Hag was hacking since she was Russian. Russian and Chinese players are well known for hacking competitive games.

@StibbityStabbity said:
Personally, I don't mind this method.
When people bring up going against sweaty players, the responses are normally "depip to a lower rank", "git gud", "uninstall", "play Survivor", or something else along the lines of "deal with it and move on". That's precisely what you did. They can't complain you got super sweaty, can't complain that you complained about it, can't say you didn't recognize you were outmatched and accepted it. You basically took all the usual advice and rolled with it.
When I am severely outmatched, and I mean SEVERELY, I still run around and break gens or pallets to get BP. I'll intentionally wiff attacks to look like I'm trying, but break chases the moment they start to make any progress on getting away. No mind games, no real chases, just pallets and gens to kick. When I run out, I very lazily look like I'm giving the minimum effort to try. IF a situation occurs where my playing dumb gets them to drop their guards and get too close, I'll quickly decide if it's worth dropping the act to do some real damage or if it would be too easy for them to get back on their game. Sometimes, this causes the trial to take a complete 180 where they went from dancing on the Killer to having three Survivors on hooks and the last one frantically trying to get unhooks so they can just leave. Sometimes, it just makes them rush the exit gate and leave. Either way, I've made BP and roasted their marshmellows a bit.
I like that method but honestly I don’t think I can do it. I’m not as skilled at suddenly turning a 0k to a 2k unless they mess up big time, which has happened before but rare, especially with a SWF red rank team. Plus even doing the bare minimum of gen and pallet breaking feels to me like giving in and playing their game. I want them to know they will get no enjoyment out of the match at all and no reward beyond leaving the match. DC, or do your gen simulator and get out. You guys ruined the match so suffer the consequences of it. I don’t mind depiping, especially since I don’t feel like even should be going up against red ranks or earned it. Depiping and ranks don’t mean anything to me but I know it means the world to red rank people.

- As someone who adores playing both Ghostface and Myers, I respect that.
- The issue is the items. The items are essentially their “power”. The diversity in perks and such make each their own unique little thing, giving Survivors more special abilities alongside the items may be a little...troublesome.
- I wouldn’t say the game’s labels are always the most accurate. For instance, Wraith is labeled “Intermediate” when he’s, in my opinion, at least, one of the simpler killers to use.
In summary, the idea of having more unique survivor “power” and maybe statistics is interesting, it would be a whole new system to deal with. One that would, knowing this game, be infuriating.
I bought Myers, Ghostface, and Deathslinger. I haven’t tried Myers yet and played Deathslinger once and honestly I didn’t like him. I’m on console and the aiming felt off and I could never hit them when I wanted to. Down the sights and everything and still missed. I’ll keep trying but so far I’m not impressed with him. Plus a lot of maps make his gun almost useless. Like Hawkins with it’s littered hallways. I haven’t tried Myers yet but I’m excited to. At first I thought Ghostface was going to be difficult but I got the hang of him alright and love him. I think I honestly lean more into being a stealth killer more than anything cause I can’t really do well with the out in the open confrontational killers.

I'm on console as well. Don't look up or down. That's my advice. Keep your screen centered, and don't fire unless the survivor is in the middle of it.
I’m not saying I was going to give up playing him. He honestly seems interesting though a lot of maps don’t seem made with him in mind so the gun seems to be very situational. Like I got stuck with him in Hawkins where everywhere is littered with junk in small narrow hallways. So not a lot of moving room.

As I said, I dont judge u and I totally understand u for doing it :) Popular streamers are a really, really bad example for the strength of a killer and for the balancing in general. You cant´t compare yourself with those people playing DBD 24/7, especially not, if u hav a "normal" job and a family. Unfortunately a lot of survivors point on those big streamers and tell u how bad u are, cuz u cannot do 50 4ks in a row with an perkless clown on haddonfield.
I mostly meant it as it seems only these twitch streamers who spent hundreds of hours on the game can effectively deal with a 4 man red rank SWF team, and even then they don’t enjoy the match either.
