  • I wonder if part of this new system is the level of your character. I like to level up my killer and survivor as much as I can before playing them for the first time. Is this a factor? Cause I have a level 30 Deathslinger and so on and I am not good at all. I barely get a 1k much less anything else. So why am I getting red ranks and survivors that are clearly above my level.

Yeah I just don't understand I wonder if something is bugged.

I am a red rank killer who gets nothing but browns today.

When they popped those 3 gens before I even managed to hook someone I knew they were way past my skill level. I gave up and just let them be. Of course they had to be toxic and clicky click me and tbag. Just couldn’t leave.

  • I’m a rank 14 killer. Just got pair with 4 man red rank SWF team that popped gens faster than I can shoot my speargun. So no, the system isn’t working for me.

  • I would say the killer deserves to see their ranks. Especially if they are a 4 man red rank SWF while I’m a rank 14. I don’t think seeing ranks as survivors is necessary though. The game is just too easy anyway for them.

  • I’m afraid I can’t help you then. I don’t have a bad ass. I have a great one.

    Camp or tunnel penalties?

Yeah it’s called losing the match by focusing entirely on one person. It’s incredibly easy to win as survivor. Also why is it that anytime someone brings up an issue people like you come in and bring up a completely different topic? What-about-isms is really annoying. Can we perhaps discuss what the actual thread is about?

Isn’t that usually a mistake for survivors to do? Lumping all of the repaired gens that close together just makes the rest of the map easier to patrol. It’s a tactical error that can be exploited by a good killer.

Honestly though if I haven’t even gotten a hit much less a hook before three gens pop it just demotivates me to continue. Not to mention the other three will just complete the other gens by the time I down someone else

  • In a weird way I like them. It’s like cleaning up to me. Which I like to clean. Break some pallets, open up the doorways and let some fresh air in. Mop up the blood and you have yourself a lovely place to relax after a hard terrifying day.

  • I’m not too keen on the idea. Only because it’s insanely easy already as survivor. However, if this was to be done I would recommend them being trinkets and not totems. Like what you can add to the belt of your character but bigger. Have them hanging from trees or certain areas in the map where the killer can swipe at them and destroy them.

  • Not a girl but an Ace main who loves the ladies and I’m PS4. But I highly doubt you would want to play with me. Not because I’m bad or anything but because I love Ace and I flirt. Heck, I flirt as Killer. Trying to “pick up chicks and carry to hatch” lol

Again the header at the top testing mmr rank wont matter at all for today until the 19

I know but he’s asking so.

3 survivors working on a gen together is anything but gen rush.

That's not how you gen rush at all. It's super easy to counter. Just go to the gen and watch them all split up and waste time.

Gen rush is when the 3 survivor are each on their own gen (with toolbox it's even better). And that usually means you chased someone without downing them for too much time.

What you are describing is just survivor doing their objective not efficiently.

What happened was three survivors were working on a gen across the map, where there were gen after gen close together. One popped before I got over there. Saw one person run away. Starts stalking. Another gen popped then another. The 3 of them just went from gen to gen and got it done super quick. I know that’s not technically a gen rush but with how quick it happened it sure felt like it.

There needs to be some type of mechanic that prevents generators from flying too quickly at the start of the game. I can be running Corrupt Intervention, but even with that, it's very difficult to pressure four very good survivors with someone who isn't Nurse/Spirit and it's common for 1-2 gens to be done before a hook is even achieved.

I'd argue making Corrupt base kit, or add the ''trial warm up'' idea suggested by ScottJund, where generator repair speeds are heavily reduced until the first chase begins, so survivors don't complete 1-2 gens before the killer even has a chance to apply pressure, especially on maps like Mother's Dwerling where you can't even reach a generator on the other side of the map before it is done. To stop killers abusing this by being AFK, perhaps make it last only a minute and have the generator repair speed be 50% slower or something.

Sure, it's pretty boring for the survivors, but games go by FAR too fast because of the early game getting rid of 1-2 gens before the killer can even apply pressure.

That is interesting. I still say though there needs to be a way to stop survivors grouping up on one gen. I’m fine with two survivors on one but when you get 3 or more it’s just ridiculous

  • Oof. Well you got an hour for me to write everything down?

  • As Killer I played once against a 3 man SWF team who gen rushed and got three gens done before I even got my Myers to rank 2. If they were that desperate to get out then get out of my game. I gave up and just let them leave. I seriously think there needs to be a penalty or something for more than two people on a gen.

As for survivor, I’ve gotten nothing but baby killers and baby survivor teammates and I’m rank 8. So so far it’s been awful.

  • I just bring Franklins Denise and go for that survivor first. You want to be a coward? Fine. Lose your lifeline

  • I don’t DC as survivor cause survivor is mostly insanely easy for me and I’m rank 8. It’s just the game is so survivor sided. As for Killer I’m tempted to DC but I just give up instead. Had a match just now as Myers where it was a 3 man SWF team all huddled together. They popped three gens before I even reached tier 2. I gave up after that. If you want to leave that badly and not even interact with me at all then by all means, get out of my game. I don’t DC, but I don’t play either when stuff like this happens or I encounter a toxic SWF team

  • First match I got was a 3 man SWF who all huddled together and just gen rushed. I was Myers and before I could even hit someone or get to Tier 2, 3 gens popped. I was so done after that. I just let them do it and leave. If they want to leave that badly and not even interact with the killer then by all means, get out of my game.

With survivor side I’m getting baby killers and baby survivors, even though I’m rank 8. Occasionally I got red rank killers but still. It’s either one extreme or the other.

  • Played a match as a Killer finally. They all just huddled together the entire match and gen rushed before I could really do anything. All high level players while I’m rank 14. What a joke. How about fixing gen speed while you’re breaking the matching system

  • My matches are all over the place. Either I get rank 1 killers or rank 20 baby killer. Same with survivors. Though mostly baby survivors

  • My matches are all over the place. Either I’m getting amazing killers or baby killers. I’m getting potato survivor teammates who hide at the slightest heartbeat and are too scared to work on gens. I’m rank 8 as survivor. I have no clue how this system is suppose to work.

  • I’m all for it. It makes sense and it would boost people coming over to the game to try it out. We need more players, especially killers.

  • This system is a joke. I’m either getting extremely amazing killers or baby killers. All my teammates I’m matched with a baby survivors while I’m rank 8. They hide at the slightest heartbeat and are too afraid to save or do gens.

Well, I mean reasonably there are different people behind every Claudette lol.

Yeah but there’s a certain percentage that use her to just urban evade and blend into the environment. They either wait for their team to do everything or get hatch

  • @CluelessWanderer said:

I'm a Bill main. It's true I try my best to save my team mates and be decent. I'm also never toxic to a Killer (because it's lame).

I love playing a 65 year old chain smoking war vet. Bill sounds SO done when he's injured lol. He's like "Not this ######### again".

I always play solo queue which is a gong show on a good day, and one match against a Demogorgon I had the worst team mates. I saved them constantly. Healed them- ran the killer around and they barely did gens. When I was on my first hook they let me hang there until struggle and when one finally did get to me they unhooked me right in front of the Killer (he wasn't camping. It just took them so damn long that he had time to wander around and come back). I limp and sputter off with my cigarette and 2 team mates get sacrificed (last hook).

It's just me and a Claudette left. The one who unhooked me in the Demo's face. I couldn't figure out what she had been doing the entire match because the Killer spent a lot of time on me yet no generators done. I keep trying to do them like a trooper (what else am i gonna do?) and the Demo finally gets me and I just give up LOL. At this point I'm just bored and I know the Claudette is just hiding waiting for me to die, and I know from experience she won't save me when I get hooked. I just feel it in my bones.

I just flag the Demo down and am like; "Just end this and let me move on, bro" (we were just playing hide and seek by that point). And when he picked me up, I didn't wiggle. I was so over it LOL. And the Demo was like..."Uh, Bill? ". He must have sensed Grandpa gave up because he puts me down., I see the aura of the Claudette and there she is, across the map; not doing a generator *of course*. The Demo waits a bit, leaves me slugged and goes off around the map. Comes back to me and sees she hasn't bothered to pick me up (I'm fully recovered at a pallet). I think Mr. Demo catches on that I had shite team mates so he goes off in search of her, finally gets her (and I'm living for it), hooks her and gives me the hatch.

I don't know if it's Bill's apathetic noises, his wheezing, his refusal to release his cigarette from his mouth even when he's on a hook, but it's true some people have a soft spot for Gramps.

Usually when I’m killer and I know there’s a Claudette in my match I go for her first if I can. Otherwise I will never encounter her on gens or unhooking teammates. She’s a drain on her group and I always feel bad for them. I can’t stand coward or lazy teammates so as killer I try to go after them and leave the survivors who are actually trying for later

  • @DarkPit said:

Especially if you give me a little jog towards me to watch. But I wouldn’t mind giving a Bill the hatch. But usually in my games Bills die quick when I’m killer :( They are just too self-sacrificing

That's too bad, you're missing out on the Dweet experience. It's ironic that you say that because Ash mains are always arrogant little f*ckers whenever I go against them lol

Arrogant to Killers yeah lol. But they are usually good teammates at least

  • @Im_Tired said:

Jeff and Bill mains are definitely the nicest

I’ve had one or two toxic Jeff’s as killer. One was so bad I let everyone else go just to make him crawl to the exit gate. Only to pick him up at the last second and hook him. So satisfying

  • @Karao_Ke said:

Bills are definitely the most altruistic teammates out there & will almost always sacrifice themselves for you in the endgame, atleast in my experience. But I will say that they are usually terrible loopers and end up mindgaming themselves lol

Though, I tend to have a soft spot for Dweets instead, particularly with the default clothes or the Dwight-in-a-Box cosmetic. Even if the Dweet is toxic, I still can't help but think they're just the cutest little things. Can't say the same for bald Dwights/Dweards though, such *ssholes.

Honestly I hate Dwights. A lot of toxic people use him and I’ve had really bad experiences both as killer and survivor with them. I do still love Bills and Ash Mains though. Ash mains are also very helpful and sacrificing for their teammates.

Survivor is DBD on easy Mode, with premade is just like tutorial difficult.

If you get tired of facing bully squads, take a break of the game, this is DBD, 4 Friends bullying One solo player.

You just can adapt, leave, use oneshoot addons or run Insidious and dont give them points.

When I started at the Game, I used to feel frustrated by these kind of lobbys and It took me more than 700 hours to understand that devs are not interested on killer side, because is the biggest amount of players and they dont want to make them angry, if survis are Happy, they spend money on skins, so do not make them angry.

You have to Accept this and keep It on mind, the actual gameplay is not going to change, BHVR is not going to Nerf survivors as they deserve and playing killer you Will be allways bullyed, tbagged, threated and blablabla.

Just play what you want but keeping this on mind. Or just play the Game they want, be a toxic killer, abuse them, tunnel and slug them, just play like survivors do

I don’t even use meta perks like a lot of red rank survivors and I’m a purple rank and still I don’t struggle much in a match. I honestly turn on survivor when i want to relax and calm down after a few terrible matches as killer. That’s exactly what is wrong with this game. It should be stressful and a headache sometimes to play survivor cause you are fighting for your life. Instead it’s a walk in the park and the killer side, which is suppose to be the power role that you stalk and kill your enemies, is more stressful and rage inducing.

  • @gibblywibblywoo said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2027145#Comment_2027145

Same here. Mainly just play solo survivor now.

It's a mix between killer becoming "too easy" and new content being boring in some respects. I've been playing since 2017 so I got used to that challenge, over time due to killers buffs (a lot of which were needed, some not) and pretty significant but relatively fair survivors nerfs, the game is just too easy now. The SWF god sqauds still make this game a joke unless you're a god Nurse, sure.

But I actually don't remember the last time I faced a good team. They're so incredibly rare, the vast majority of survivors are very bad (though the same is true with killer, Ruin/Undying has inflated a lot of killers skill much like SWF. Cleanse a Freddy's Ruin 2 minutes in and watch him panic). And I have very little faith in this MMR system.

In regards to new content the only killer released in the last 4/5 chapters I actually enjoyed playing is Blight, he's fantastic. Everything else sucked and I got bored of them within 2 weeks. Pyramid head was extremely unimaginitive in power design and is exclusively played by tunnelers. Deathslinger may as well just teleport you to a hook when he sees you thanks to those hitscan-like insta shots, you can pull off some cool shots and I like the reeling 'em in part. But he's very dull outside of that. Twins is just horrendously boring to play as/against, and trickster just looks like a worse hybrid of Huntress and Legion. They're either making dull hybrids of existing killers, or making killers that have minimal to no counterplay making for boring matches for both sides.

Also no new maps, breakable walls are a pointlessly forced mechanic, new perks, much like new killers are just worse/objectively better versions of existing perks, I could go on.

You must be lucky then. Where I’m from late at night is when I play and I get nothing but the sweat 4 man red rank squads.

  • You know what I might play this on repeat while playing killer. It might make me relax and not care as much cause I won’t win either way lol

  • @Tsulan said:

Thats the result when the supposed power role isn´t the power role. A killer should be as strong as 4 survivors. Yet, we have survivor mains that push for a 1vs1 experience.

Anyone remember Evolve? They also made the Hunters role stronger than the Monsters role. The Monsters could find a lobby in seconds, while the Hunters had to wait a very long time to get a match. Which is what we have already in DbD.

I actually agree with that. This game is a horror game. The killer is suppose to be a forced reckoned with. Something that takes 4 survivors to take down. But it doesn’t feel that way. Instead of being in a horror movie it feels like a comedy. With the killers being the punchline.

  • @UnentitledBunnyMan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2027215#Comment_2027215

Playing as deathslinger is much more stressful than huntress or Bubba IMO. I quit playing him like months and I find this game not that sweaty.

I tried Myers as a change up. Survivors were right in front of my face and I was still missing hits. I guess I have to be right up in their bunghole to even land a hit. I DC’d from the match after missing some hits that honestly should have landed. I was right on their back.

  • I hate Myers just to play as. Anytime the survivor is right in front of me I miss hitting them. I guess I have to be so close to the survivor that we are spooning to even get a hit in. It’s laughable.

  • @UnentitledBunnyMan said:

Playing as huntress or deathslinger is satisifying when land a hit, and Bubba's saw is powerful enough to let u get to red rank. And all of them are not very diffcult to master.

I play as Deathslinger. He’s fun but still. Cant get much of a win with him either. I use to be a purple ranked Killer and I’ve only been playing for two months. Honestly the game has changed so much just since Jan to me it’s almost unrecognizable to when I started. Not in a good way either. The atmosphere in my matches and just the feel of the whole thing feels off and different. I dont struggle much with Survivor, it’s not intense. With Killer it’s just all stress and hard play and no payoff. Cause even if I’m hooking people more than a fishing tournament could hope to do I still only come away with one kill, sometimes not even that.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

So basically "I don't like this game" okay, fair enough, I can get why you wouldn't.

    Then just....don't.....play.

I mean, the game is what it is, and no major changes are going to really happen ever, some small ones happen over the course of years but that is all you are gonna get- if that is not enough then yeah, just stop playing.

I don’t like the game. You’re right. I like the idea of the game and it has spurts of fun. But the game has so many issues and flaws in design and gameplay. But it’s more than that. I explained it in my post have stacked against Killers it is. You would have to hit people over 24 times to get a 4K. Not including the perks and heals and such. Plus I said survivor was more fun but it was also boring at the same time.

  • @Kirkylad said:

You're not the only one, I use to play killer a lot back in the day but now it's just not enjoyable anymore.

Once I have the achievements on the killer they only get brought out again for daily's and archive challenges. Other than that I stick to survivor or play another game instead.

Not only that but when I first played Killer it was amazing. I felt like a horror movie icon. Survivors were scared and ran. They panicked and made mistakes. It felt like an actual horror game. I get it that that play style can’t go on forever. People get better and all that and I can’t blame them at all for it. But it breaks my mindset of being a terrifying killer and honestly breaks my immersion when they fix gens in front of my face( I’ll hit them, then they will just continue on gen) or save their teammate in front of my face. They tbag, click flashlights at me, etc. I can’t imagine Jason or Freddy in their movies would have their victims do that to them. So my very own horror game where I’m the killer is now just a comedy, and I’m the punchline.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2026931#Comment_2026931

SWF isn't cheating, voice-communication is. There is no built in voice-com mechanics.

You're using an outside program to gain a significant competitive advantage in this game that artificially boosts the team's performance beyond their capabilities in real operating conditions.

In a normal game you can't tell someone where a totem is. You can't say if someone is coming for a save. You can't say trap right there. Yet any of these small thing early on could be the pivot point for the game snowballing or not.

Voice chat isn't just one of those bits given freely. It's a thousand small changes under the guise of "well I can press m1 and juke just like a normal game" without recognizing the real impact that makes.

You can't wipe out so much of the chaos and uncertainty which defines this game and still argue that you're playing the game as its designed to be played. Survivors are not meant to be coordinating or communicating beyond their their limited perk selection and rudimentary pointing. The difference is ######### monumental.

Truth is, VC is an advantage over normal players (ie, compared to the same team without that crutch) that's about as significant as an aimbot or wallhack in an FPS.

It is cheating de-facto no matter what the developers say until they either include it for real or balance around it in a way that takes account for the massive difference between a game where plays have zero coordination/communication and one where the players have total communication/coordination.

Yet.... voice chat is allowed nevertheless. Same way stream sniping is allowed according to the official rules. Personally, I would call them both cheating and prefer both be eliminated. But to think of one as cheating and the other crossing some line... pure hypocrisy. There's no getting around it. It's simply delusional.

I can agree with that. I’ve been in parties before but we don’t use headsets or anything. We just send psn messages before or after the match. So no real advantage there. It’s just funny people complain about going outside the game to gain an advantage and watching a stream is unfair but then go outside the game and use Discord or VC for their four man SWF and think that’s fair.

  • @ttvbardberd said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2026945#Comment_2026945

Is that not a fair comparison to make? I mean it's definitely a bit of a jump, but the premise is the same.

Hating a group of people (streamers) based on bad experiences a player had with one of them is to an extremely less extent the same thing.

Oh my lord you’re serious. Holy crap. You’re delusional

  • @ttvbardberd said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2026929#Comment_2026929

It sucks that just because someone had one bad experience with a a certain person means that they will treat all people from that particular group with aggression and unfairness.

Sounds similar to something from the history books I learnt about in school🤔

Oh lord you seriously did not just make that comparison. Please tell me you didnt.

  • I don’t even watch the stream while playing just leave it up to hear their comments. Even then their comments don’t help me out in the least cause there is always a 20 second or longer delay. I’m gaining no advantage at all. For example I can down and hook the person and be chasing someone else, 20 seconds or so later on the stream I’ll hear their player scream and be hooked with the streamer yelling I got hooked. So what advantage is there to that?

  • @ttvbardberd said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2026893#Comment_2026893

But the matchmaking has nothing to do with whether it's fair or not to stream snipe. The matchmaking is something BHVR are actually trying to fix to improve everyone's experience. Also as I stated in another comment, the reason you get put with red ranks at the rank you are is mostly because the game is trying to balance a SWF where one is a red rank, and the others are lower. So yes it needs be fixed, but there is no easy way to fix it.

Uh no. Every SWF team I’ve encountered is 3 red ranks and maybe one purple while I’m 13. So it’s not fair in the least. Then they are on comms the whole match and are being toxic the entire match.

1 … 13 14 15 16 17 … 26
