With new chapters, I usually look forward to the map rather than the new killer/survivor. Sadly, the last few 'chapters' have been lacking a map. It would be good to see some of the 'map-less' killers eventually get their own map.

1 being most liked/disliked etc.
Like.
1.Michael Myers
2.Trapper
3.Clown
4.Leatherface
5.Freddy
Dislike.
1.Blight
2.Deathslinger
3.Pyramid Head
4.Oni
5.Nurse

Whilst The Twins were an interesting concept, the last killer I was honestly looking forward to was Legion. Since then, I've found they all get lost in the mix.
-
Here's mine, which is in relation to my personal performance and enjoyment. It goes against the grain, but here it is:
-
- Survivor: Quentin. Crap perks, crap remake, crap character, crap likeness. Crap.
- Killer: Trickster. He's not for me.
- Survivor addon: Brand New Part. 4 of these at the start...
- Killer addon: Huntress' Iridescent Head. Without a bloody doubt. This needs to go.
- Map: Swamp. I hate that place.
- Offering: Decrease mist Reagent. Pointless.
- Survivor perk: OoO. Just an accessory for trolls.
- Killer perk: Monstrous Shrine. It's got no real use.
-
I personally find Survivor an overall more fun experience. The behaviour of many in the community often make playing killer an irritating exercise. I don't find it particularly fun.
The only killer I like playing as is Myers with a tier 1 mirror add-ons. I enjoy making people jump out of their skins.
-
I like your honesty!
If it was someone like Legion, Trickster etc: maybe go for a group kill or at least incapacitate our pursuer. But if it's one of the monsterous, inhuman looking beasts...I'm going to try and climb that wall 😊
-
I got lucky with this one. I had a friendly Legion allow me to finish the final gen and leave.
And that may be the easiest way. When the 3rd survivors dies, run up to the killer. Drop a items and do the 'come here' gesture. Hopefully you can be friends and point a generator. If you have one gen left, the killer will hopefully allow you to finish it, instead of closing the hatch.
LEGIT? ok go for perks:
-POISED
-DIVERSION
-SPRINT BURST
-WAKE UP
If you want to do it legit, one way is to complete the final gen 99% when the 3rd survivor is in the hook struggle. Wait for them to die. Complete the gen. Now carefully get to the furthest gate (Poised and Sprint Burst will help). You could throw a pebble with Diversion to give yourself a bit more time. Allow the killer to patrol the gate once before they go back to the other one. Now hopefully you'll now have enough time open the gate.
As someone mentioned on here: The Game/Gideon is the best map. Make sure the final gen is on the bottom floor. Complete the final gen using the technique above and get to a gate. Throw a pebble on the bottom floor. This hopefully will make the killer think you've found the hatch and are taunting. Be careful, and make your way to an exit gate. The killer will be more than likely looking for the hatch/you on the bottom floor, giving you enough time to open the gate.
I must say this a real luck based achievement.
-
I agree. I would only advise fans of Ash/Evil Dead franchise to purchase. The included perks aren't anything special. But many DBD diehard completionists will buy all killers and survivors.
-
I admit I did for the last premium pass or maybe the one before, I'm not sure. I was trailing behind and had to unlock the last few tiers. It's just my completionist nature. I then spent the other remaining cells on sale skins.
And, like a fool, I purchased the cells again to unlock the current pass. I have worked my way to tier 50 and am just awaiting the release of the level 4 challenges.
But after this pass, that's it for me. As I mentioned in a thread yesterday, I no longer have the love or dedication for this game to grind for more unlockables.
-
Of course.
-
It would probably end up with all of the happy clappy brigade voting for someone because they think he's "gorgeous" and they would "simp" for him, with requests for bare-chested skins etc (all the usual, tedious nonsense). And then we would get the cosplays and the fan art scenarios (the big social media shares etc)...until the chapter drops...it cools down to the point it's a wet fart...and everyone goes back to their mains.
-
I still have fun with the tier 1 mirror, but I can immediately think of one improvement:
-With a tomestone add-on active, have the ability to grab and kill survivors straight out of a locker. He could pin them up inside the locker with his knife, observe with a slight head turn, then reclaim his weapon.
-
I don't give a monkey's. The new killer isn't my cup of tea in appearance or power (has interesting lore though) and all these new survivors are moulding in to one.
-
David and Myers (with a tier 1 mirror😏)
-
Had a thought maybe have a twist on the story.
Feature the factory, with various torture rooms exhibiting different victims etc. Have it also feature numerous dead clients (traditional red clad, surgical masks etc). The clients would have arrows stuck in them, pinning them to walls etc.
It turns out the Masked Woman/Archer from part 3 has visited Slovakia and run amok in the Elite Hunting factory. She's murdered all the building's customers with her crossbow.
As a power, she could torment her prey with her arrows.
She could collect more arrows in the same fashion as the Huntress and her hatches.
A survivor can be hit with arrows which remain in the survivor until they're emoved.
Survivors can function with two arrows attached, but a third sends them in to the dying state.
The survivor can remove the arrows, but by doing so they're faced with a difficult skill check. If the survivor competes the skill check, they pull the arrow out without commotion. If the survivor fails the skill check, they pull the arrow out and cry out in pain. The killer is notifed of their position.
I would prefer the a client in style of part 1, but the part 3 Masked Woman would be a very cool addition. Although it mixes the timelines with Paxton, the factory and the Masked Woman...Hostel would be a good fit for DBD in my opinion.
-
@KiwiCoattails said:
I’m not sure that this will ever happen but I am a fan of Hostel and would love to have Paxton as a survivor. Do you have any ideas on what ability the killer would have?
To be honest, I hadn't given a killer power much thought.
Well if they went with the Masked Woman/Archer from part 3, that would be a simple crossbow ability. This could make her another Huntress in some respects. This was why I considered her as a killer: she has an obvious ability and she looks very creepy.
If it went down the preferred route with a part 1 'client' as a killer, the options for a power are not so obvious. Maybe the killer has a perk called Valuable Asset or something. The client desires the most sought after prey. The best performing Survivor with the most bloodpoints gives double bloodpoints if hit/hooked/sacrificed.
Maybe the killer has the ability to kill survivors after a suitable amount of punishment has been given.
-
I can't be bothered doing a list, but Jaws is my favourite, then Halloween.
-
Killer games are more intense than survivor games, and this is thanks in part to the eye-ball rolling behaviour of many players.
Killer games can be particularly annoying when attempting certain rift pass challenges and/or killer adepts.
I doubt this will ever change.

So just had a game where they survivors all brought petrified offerings and the hooks were miles apart and they just ran around trying to body block and flashlight save.
Now I'm no stranger to the bully squad, this game is rife with these kinds of people but I'm just kinda tired of having to deal with game after game of really unpleasant people to play with.
Its not about winning the game its about having fun and this kind of garbage is just not fun.
When I see three flashlights I equip lightborn and franklins and get ready for what is going to probably be a really crappy game.
I should have dodged the lobby, I knew it was going to be a crapfest. Now I 4k'd but only because I felt an intense sense of "these pricks need to be taught a lesson". But I shouldn't have to do that when playing a game for fun, it made me just as toxic as they were so really everyone loses in that scenario.
We get to the post game screen and I'll forgo the vitriolic chat and abuse leveled at me for bringing lightborn and franklin's (god forbid I should bring perks that ruin this grief squads fun). What really struck me were ranks though 1 rank 16 and 3x rank 4-1. Its clearly a smurf account bully squad trolling around for low level killers to just abuse.
I've never been more in favour of a solo mode against bots because sometimes this community is a rancid dumpster fire to play with.
Agreed. And I speak as someone who has played this game since it dropped on PS4 back in 2017.
I would say it's the worst player-base of any game I have ever played (I understand other communities are bad, but this is a personal opinion).
I recently decided to complete the current pass and then go full casual on DBD. This is something I've attempted to do for sometime, but I kept bouncing back. But this time, I have other games, interests and responsibilities to accommodate my time.
Playing killer is just an eye-rolling chore the majority of the time. The poor matchmaking, coupled with the behaviour/attitude of a large chunk of the players, make one feel apprehensive to play DBD for extended periods.
I would enjoy bots too. Although there wouldn't be nowhere near as much challenge, at least you could kick back and relax. And it would be nice to have match without a teabag or a flashlight click.
I play against bots on For Honor and it's FAR more fun than playing against real players.
But that's the nature of online gaming: once some players know a particular trick or tactic, they exploit it in to the ground. And if it wins them matches, why shouldn't they?
And then you get the little darlings who boast about how they looped/blinded the killer all match and made him quit. They even make videos about it. It's all so...tiresome.
So for me, without the pass, and the collection of mediocre skins and useless charms, there will no urgency to grind away.
I believe games should be fun experience, not something done out of necessity.
-
Old post...but yes I agree. Saw the film last night. Enjoyed it.
-
I don't like it at all.
I can understand the character icons being on screen, but the layout is not 'at a glance'.
The old set-up worked perfectly fine.
At the very least, give us the option of switching between the new and old HUD.
-
I far preferred the old HUD. Would of least liked to see any option to switch between the two.
But regardless, I'll get used to the new set-up.
-
It depends how the survivor team plays.
On paper, it's 4 v 1. But if the killer is seasoned enough with their desired killer, he can make a competent team in to mincemeat. Yesterday I was playing with a Tier 1 PC Nurse, who had naturally burned a Gideon offering. You can imagine how that turned out.
On the other hand, if there is a SWF squad (yes, many of which are quite unbearable), who know all the tricks and vault loops etc, along with having planned perks which compliment each other, the killer can be subjected to a humiliating destruction.
Again, it's all measured on the behaviour and ability of the players.
Overall, whilst there some elements of the killer role which are problematic ie one down hatchet Huntress, I think the game leans in favour of survivors. There are plenty of second chance perks which are at a survivor disposal. Also, playing a killer, the pressure is on from the start: the clock is ticking down as gens start to progress. And when you go after one survivor, you've got the other three potentially hammering away at gen. The pressure role is eased at the beginning of a match as survivor: here the pressure is shared with three other players, and you only feel the noose tightening when your teammates become hooked or die.
You could look at it as the killer can, true to title, kill the survivors. Every hook state acts as a 'live lost'. But on the other hand, a completed gen acts a 'live' for the killer.
Personally, that's my take on it: Survivors have the upper ground.
And I'm a 50/50 survivor/killer.
Nothing new to this opinion.
-
After finishing the last tome I wasn't on DBD as much, usually just doing my dailies. In regards to the new update:
-I dislike the new icon display layout, but I will get used to it in time
-The Clown update is nothing but positive. He's everything as before but now with more abilities which add to his pressure. Not ad spectacular as the Doctor buffs but still good work.
-The new map graphics look excellent. Gideon was my favourite map and now it looks even better. Very authentic.
Looking forward to the new Tome dropping today.
-
I voted NO as it's my most used Survivor perk, but...as handy as it is, I wouldn't be totally lost without.
As a 50/50, I can understand Spine Chill being somewhat irritating. When you approach a half fixed gen, and the survivors are long gone.
It would be interesting to see how effective it would be if it only activated when you were on your own, ie not multiples on a gen. As it stands now, if only one survivor has it equipped and they suddenly cease fixing a gen...all the other fixers are also potentially immediately alerted. But then the issue with Myers and GhostFace is that if there was no way of SC activating whilst doing group tasks, they could potentially fill their stalk tiers up easily. The survivors would have to rely on their manual observations to look out for those two, and GhostFace can be particularly tricky to spot.
I would say keep it how it is. Much like BBQ&C, it's an effective perk but altering it would make it useless.
-
Survivor is definitely less stressful, but getting a 4k with a killer feels more rewarding than escaping as a survivor.
-
These two conveniently. Both of them.
I usually get good results with The Clown and Wraith is fun with an aura reading add-on.
Leatherface and Trapper are my overall favourites, however.
-
It seems the newer killers are ironically the most forgettable. You would expect these recent inclusions to be fresh in your head, but often they're lost in the mix. People like the killers they're comfortable with, and rightly so.
I have absolutely no intention of using Blight, Pyramid Head, Deathslinger or Oni again unless it's to complete a challenge.
Saying all this, I liked the concept of The Twins. Flawed but entertaining.
-
Especially with a mirror add-on in Gideon or Lery's.
-
I think the death time being influenced by killer proximity is interesting.
In the past I have thought how a camping killer could alter the generator repair speed, but that really is a can of worms. Maybe it could be associated in a perk.
-
I like all these ideas.
However, my preference would be Nemesis, Jill but the Mansion from the original.
Saying that, I wouldn't mind seeing the characters and house from Resident Evil 7.
-
Currently playing a little gem called Distrust. It's influenced by John Carpenter's The Thing and involves a group of individuals in Antarctica trying to survive after their helicopter is brought down by an alien force. Addictive and challenging.
-
I don't expect a 4K with The Twins every match, even though I have their Adept. But you can often have a fun match with them.
-
Well my DREAM chapter, as in outside the realm of possibility, would be JAWS.
ALL the maps would be flooded including a special Amity Island map.
The survivor would have to wade and swim to other structures in order to fix generators.
The shark would be stalking the survivors from the depths and would have a unique attack pattern.
Killer: The Shark
Survivor: Quint
Map: Amity Island
-
Yes.
Arena Mode - The killer has to hunt respawning survivors. The survivors die after a single hit. The killer has to kill as many survivors as possible before the time expires. The survivors have to obtain certain collectables before the time expires. The more kills/collectables at the end of the match, the higher personal bonus. A map vote takes place before each match.
-
She has a stealth capabilities and a lunge attack.
Surveillance is one of the strongest killer perks and is highly effective with Pig. Make Your Choice is also favorable.
Some of her add-ons, like Amanda's Letter, make her even more powerful.
Equip some other perks like Nurse's Call, and the Pig's combination of stealth and charging attacks are highly effective.
Her traps however, are seriously flawed and need work. As her 'main power', there is a lack of threat when having a Reverse Bear Trap attached to your head. This shouldn't be the case.
There are some great aspects of the Saw franchise which, license allowing, could really make the Pig feel an even more authentic play experience.
-
The 'legendary' skins are ridiculously dear. Some do look good, for example the Krampus Trapper...but the issue with killer skins is that the controlling player can't actually see them whilst playing. But that's the joy of 1st person game skins.
-
Billy from Gremlins...with Gizmo in his backpack.
-
I think it's most logical use it to signify that the killer is camping.
Sometimes doing it to indicate an unhook opportunity can bring the killer back to the hook to protect against a potential rescue.
By 'waving arms' in the presence of a camper, the killer may be inclined to go and check the gens and hunt other survivors.
-
Doctor. All that screaming and fake images...gets right up my nose.
-
The very best? Jaws. It is a horror film, I won't be told otherwise. It's also my favourite film. Closely followed by Halloween (1978, if I needed to confirm).
Disappointments? Jason Goes To Hell springs to mind. I remember walking to school and seeing the poster in the video shop of the silver mask entangled with a gruesome worm...surrounded by fire. It looked awesome. Finally a new Friday 13th film!...I pestered my parents to rent the vhs...watched it...and was completely disappointed. Jason appeared in it for a couple of minutes at the start and the end. Bad memories.
-
Charlotte should pull him out of a top hat. TAA DAA!
-
Paris Hilton: "Mr Puddles! You're mine forever!"
-
Hag would be interesting. Brutal with teleportation abilities. Could also have some gory fatalities.

any Adept challenge.
those are the main reason why i just never went for achievements
By far the best time to go for Adepts is soon after rank reset.
They can be tough, and I remember Nurse (PS4) being particularly tricky.
Here's a confession: The only one in which I didn't do myself was Pyramid Head. I kept getting close but was finding playing him very difficult and frustrating. Someone (a fellow fog-dweller but on PC) asked if they could try, sat down and did it first time! I was shocked 😆
But Adepts can take you by surprise sometimes. You have that good feeling that you're having a decent match and maybe, MAYBE it's going to pop.
To be honest, I sailed through Oni, Deathslinger and even Blight with ease. I thought I was going to have a rough time as I found it hard to get to grips with those killers. The Twins were another easy ride on the adept highway.
However, I wouldn't get in to the habit of going for Adepts...or DBD trophies at all...or even trophies on any game. I quit and feel better for it...until a new DBD chapter emerges.

I think wounded healer is fine now that its fixed- I'd put it in the catagory of passive trophies--it's one you eventually get just by playing the game for long enough.
True, you can get it by the playing the game in time. But the trophy-hunter itch is that you feel inclined not to heal youself or be healed. The quickest way to obtain the trophy is by using No Mither but that can put you in a compromising position in each match.
I think I just have bad memories from it through wasting long periods of time attempting it without confirmation it was bugged. I kept the avatar as a symbol of hope 😄

The Myers-Achievement where you have to Tombstone-Mori everyone. Surv would just jump into lockers to deny you the achievement or dc. Got it during the time, the MM-System was active so I was paired with absolute newbies. And I got entity displeased for getting the achievement.
Doing the Last Gen and leaving through the gate was annoying, too. But had a killer who showed mercy after everyone died except me.
Escaping through the hatch with all 4 survivors is another hard achievement.
Honorable Mention: Every Adept-Killer trophy in red ranks.
@Damarus said:
I don't think I'll ever be able to get "Evil Incarnate", tbh. And I'd rather hit my testicles with a sledgehammer than try that again.
The Evil Incarnate trophy seems to be a thorn in the side for many players. I luckily got it on my third attempt. The first time one player d/c and the second they found the hatch. With these issues along with the highly irritating locker technique, I can see how some give up on the achievement out of pure frustration. You really need to get lucky with a team who don't d/c and hide. And that can be tough. Really, Myers needs an update whereabouts the Tombstone add-on gives him the ability to kill survivors straight from the locker. That would solve the issue and also be very cool. Maybe have Myers stab the survivor in the locker, and then slowly admire his work before retrieving his weapon.
Where Did They Go? was and is a terrible trophy. It was my final trophy for the Platinum. I got it pure luck after I brought a key and the killer got caught in the pallet float glitch. You really need a SWF squad with keys, maps and also perks that compliment your quest.

Skilled Huntress is one of three I farmed for. F that.
the other two are Adept Nurse (realized later I actually was able to do it without farming) and the 3 blink grab.
Left for Dead is probably up there now, but I think I got it before the changes that made it so hard.
everything else was manageable for me.
Rescue mission I didn’t really attempt yet, got only 1 done. It will take time I guess but I will get it eventually
@ohheyitsbobcat said:
Skilled Huntress no question. 100 24-meter downs is way too much and requires you to not only be really good at Huntress but your opponents to be really bad and you have to do it a lot. Very very dumb trophy. Outside of the new trophies this is the only one I need besides 1000 hatchets which is just time consuming.
Taking One for team. Whoever thought 250 unhook protections hits was fine is straight up insane. I only just got this and I've been playing for 2 years with probably close to 1k hours.
Left for Dead is one that is almost impossible nowadays unless the planets align. I got it only because a Billy decided to let me go the gracious soul.
4-man hatch escape was probably the toughest one just counting the platinum. Got this back before killer could close hatch.
Escaping Disturbed Ward without getting hit is also pretty bad since it basically requires you to hide all game and do nothing.
Killing all 4 surviors via Mori/Devour was also pretty annoying because of the dc's. It's not as bad now with disconnects but with the Mori nerf this one will be a lot harder.
I agree Skilled Huntress was an appallingly ill-advised trophy. Admittedly I farmed for it as a buddy killer.
Taking One For The Team was a serious pain the butt and took me ruddy ages. Completely moronic concept.
Wounded Healer was also an unpleasant experience, largely in part to it being glitched on ps4 for most of 2019. Then I would use No Mither to save on killer interaction, but in turn became an easy target which was a burden on my teammates. Shoddy.

LEGION.
I always seem to do good with the big foot bunny.
