  • I only usually have fun as Myers, Clown, Leatherface and Trapper.

  • I saw content and updates cease for Friday 13th. I found that saddening.

If DBD disappeared, I wouldn't be bothered.

  • I do, but I'm not enjoying it. It's been a love/hate thing since it's PS4 release for me.

I'm just finishing off this pass to 70 (something which is frustratingly tedious) then I might call it a day. I've had enough.

  • 100% agree.

Play as killer with their perks: nobody survives = Adept Killer.

I have all the killer adepts, until Trickster was released. I haven't unlocked him and stopped doing the adepts after The Twins.

    They're far too annoying.

Now...if they become a simple 4K...I would be somewhat interested.

But as it stands, my days of Adept-Attempting are over.

    This community has an obsession

Select people within the community do.

I personally find the whole concept overdone and flat out embarrassing.

  • I know one change: it shouldn't give the survivor the ability to twinkle-toe over open traps. That's bloody ridiculous.

  • I'm having trouble with Risky Repairs. A complete toilet of a challenge.

I tell you, challenges get worse with each Rift.

Soon it will be 'complete all gens without any other survivor touching them with the game uninstalled'.

I just don’t understand what it is about this game that just brings out the worst in people. Between surfing the forums and in game experiences I’ve had with survivors/killers I generally do not understand how this game is going as strong as it is. I want to say I enjoy my time when I play but how most of my matches go SOMEONE is ALWAYS going out of their way to grief other players just because. Post game chats just add salt to the wounds. Is it majority of this game is young teens and just haven’t grown up or people just so filled with spite that they will take it out on anyone? I don’t understand why this game in particular is one of the worst when it comes it’s player base.

Unfortunately it's the nature of online gaming.

This is why I prefer offline single-player games.

  • On the subject of the challenges: Risky Repairs...great fun...honestly...fantastic concept 😑

Much like the Take One For The Team Team trophy, this challenge encourages counter-productive and disruptive behaviour.

Risky? You have to have blind luck or potentially leave a gen at 99%, have the killer stride toward tou, pop the gen then get pursued.

Completely moronic. I'm not going to miss challenges like this.

  • Did it first time this morning luckily.

I did it from a distance when the perk lit up, but another way is playing risky and near enough waiting for the killer to be in smelling distance. Then point at them.

  • It's natural straight after new Rift challenges or a new killer is released.

Some players get frustrated with others' challenge-driven play. Some hate the new killer.

Plenty think "sod this" and quit.

And yes. I've seen this a lot today too.

  • @StardustSpeedway said:

I feel like the killer challenges don't take too long to complete. It's the survivor challenges that are the ones that require way too much matches to complete a SINGLE one. They only progressively get worse as each level releases. It wouldn't be so bad if I could have 2 of these challenges selected, but you can't.

Some of the challenges are truly tiresome and act as speed-bumps when working through the pass.

Have 20 gens completed? At least 4 matches.

Find 6 red glyphs? At least 6 matches.

    Etc.

The current Rift is the first one I ever completed (reached Tier 70 today)

I had to play for entire days and whole weekends

Well this is it. It's certainly a lot of work for a few re-coloured skins and charms. One grind I can happily do without.

  • @Lily0 said:

I think I saw somewhere that the next pass will have reduced grind? But im not 100% sure and it hasnt been confirmed by the devs ofc

Yes a couple of users have mentioned that in this thread at least.

Regardless, I am still very much going casual with DBD.

When I knew I felt relaxed about not unlucking the new chapter, it was confirmed.

I've been contemplating it for a good while, but now is the time.

  • Another thing that I'm packing in with is the PS4 trophies. As someone who had 100% Platinum with all the DLC at 100% too, I am not going to miss those killer adepts, and from what I hear, Trickster isn't the most suitable character to attempt it with.

Regarding going for 100% of DBD trophies: it was a huge mistake for me. I then had to follow up and do every DLC 100% aswell. It made for some very irritating experiences.

  • Incoming "Ok cya" and "Bye then" comments...oh they're already here.

I can understand frustrations about the new killer, I grew tired of new mediocre additions. It's the first time I haven't day 1 purchased the new content, and I have no intention of unlocking it all. But for me the whole game in general is an issue: I'm not having fun anymore. As a result, once I 70 this rift pass, I'm going casual. And I can't wait.

  • Trickster = Turdster.

  • Bloody hell I am glad this was my first ever non-purchase/unlock.

  • Don't bow down and be a mug.

It'll be the same old routine:

-There will be rumblings of a new chapter.

-We'll have all the usual YouTubers like 'The King' come out with another reliable licensed prediction video, naming all the usual names from Candyman, to Jason, to Pee Wee Herman.

-The 5 second teaser will drop.

-More smiley, sponsor-laden videos from 'our favourite fog whisperers' will follow. Teaser featured a chain? IT'S PINHEAD! Teaser featured snow? IT'S THE THING! Teaser featured sky-scrapers? IT'S THE STAY PUFT MARSHMALLOW MAN! etc...

-We get a few more social media hints.

-The Youtubers do even more detective work, which naturally turns out to amount to nothing.

-The trailer drops. It's nothing anyone expected.

-The clowns go crazy. They're dressing up as the new killer, they're drawing suggestive artwork of the new killer, they're outright admitting they're in love with the killer. The usual nonsense.

-DBD social media accounts retweet/share the super-fans submissions. It's one big party!

-The PTB is released. Players notice that there are some obvious faults with the killer's play style.

    -The chapter is released.

-The party is in full swing. The streams are open. The cosplayers are out in force. The donations are being sent in. It's going to be a night to remember.

-A few hours in, the majority of players realise they dislike the new killer. And they go back to their main killers.

  • The fact the announcement of this chapter got a lot of attraction with loads of lunatics excited like kids at Christmas...only for the killer to be a huge, ineffective disappointment:

    I find that highly satisfying.

  • After the majority of 'glowing' reviews (😂), I would probably avoid the new killer. I certainly would not spend actual money on him.

Even the sad-acts who cosplayed as him and spent all night streaming themselves struggling to get to grips with the new killer (currently removing all the make-up and hair dye)...I reckon even they would now have some regrets.

  • I wish I could donate Plague, Oni, Deathslinger, Pyramid Head, Blight and The Twins.

  • I would consider that a blessing.

  • One thing I have learnt with DBD is: don't be a consoomer.

  • As seemingly one of the lucky ones aka a person who didn't buy/unlook the K-Pooper, I must say my only slight disappointment is the fact my perfect 100%-100% of DBD trophies on PS4 is now at 100%-85%. But oh well...I still have the Platinum.

I remember how frustrating the killer adepts were. I will certainly not miss them.

I remember how obsessive I got over the broken Wounded Healer trophy or how many attempts Taking One For The Team took. And what about farming for the ridiculous Skilled Huntress nonsense. Truly awful experiences. What a waste of time.

Todays the day: the final level rift challenges. Complete the challenges...get to level 70...aaaaaand breathe.

Out of curiosity y do you feel the killers you mentioned are waste of shards?

Not necessarily shards. As shards are free and accumulated through playing. I suppose using them to unlock a killer, to at the very least acquire their perks, is logical.

I admittedly have purchased all previous chapters/killers/survivors with money. But recently the penny dropped (no pun) and I finally noticed I never go back to the more recent killers.

  • The only thing that keeps me going is the thought of the army of individuals who are sitting there...dressed as the killer...trying to play as him..and it's sinking in how crap he is.

    ...'Wink'.

  • But guys! Don't worry if he's crap! We can all swoon over those mouth-watering winking Trickster GIFs.

    😂😂😂

  • I personally feel like Oni, Deathslinger, Pyramid Head, Blight and Twins were all wastes of money. Although I managed to get all their Adepts, I never went back to them.

But I've avoided the K-Pooper. And it he's a waste of SHARDS, I'm sure glad I didn't use cells or spend money on the chapter.

  • Not to mention we also had the highly anticipated debut of The K-Pooper.

Tomorrow is going to be a right hoot with the new Rift challenges.

  • Give it until after the Easter weekend: you'll seldom see Trickster as killer.

  • "Wait! Wait! He's pretty! And he's a K-Popper! And he winks! What about the winks!!!"

    😂😂😂 what a joyous occasion.

  • Because a shower of social media obsessives got all hot under the collar over a 'pretty' killer. They enjoyed this for numerous reasons, including the belief that it irritated fans of 'traditional horror'. They also enjoyed the opportunity to dress up like the killer and do kissy wink face selfies. But amusingly, I hear the new killer is 100% pure cack prime. Which is absolutely hilarious.

  • Wow! That's fantastic. I think I'm going to dress up as him! Look out world! Here I cccccccccccome!!!!

  • Remember all those happy clappers who kept going on about how 'gorgeous' the Trickster was and how they were 'simping' for him? Dressing up, doing cosplays? The fan art? All the winking?

    It's all so tiresome.

    😂😂😂😂😂😂

  • I switched on today because someone told me the new challenges were out. This is my last premium pass grind. Once this tier 70'ed...I'm done with this Rift nonsense.

I am usually excited about new DBD DLC, but now I'm so far in the other direction. I haven't even bothered unlocking this chapter, with accumulated shards besides purchasing it.

This doesn't mean my disinterest is caused soley by the release of 'The Trickster'. Whilst I do think the new addition is embarrassing, it goes further than just that: I'm honestly not having fun and haven't for a while.

I still love horror. I still love games. But I'm just drifting away from DBD. I have some good memories, but everything has it's prime shelf-life.

I'll still play, but only occasionally.

  • I'm busy playing Dying Light and writing.

I'll get the level 4 challenges done, complete the pass and relax.

Not even sure I'm going to bother with the Trickster/survivor dlc (and I have previously first-dayed every other chapter). I think I'm finally drifting away from DBD. We'll see.

when Saturday night was Blinddate, family fortune and Gladiators? ahhh fun times, also family fortunes, super market sweep and fun house? lol

    Haha.

Oh I remember Gladiators...especially Jet! 😍 I feel like Alan Partridge.

I used to like Generation Game too, with Brucie and then Jim Davidson.

It used to be all good tv...and then Casualty started and it was bath time.

On Sunday evenings I used to hear the Poirot theme tune...it always reminded me: schoooool tomorrow 😣

  • Favourite horrors? Jaws. Closely followed by Halloween. Then, The Thing.

  • It popped up in association with Friday 13th trailers on YouTube. I got interested with DBD when I heard rumours Michael Myers was going to be included. Got the game pretty much on release on PS4.

  • I agree with your frustrations but honestly can't relate to the 'super OP killer' bit.

On a side note, I'm just awaiting the final level of the current pass. Once I complete the Rift, I'm going to be playing DBD far less.

I'm good with the map, but I can't think of a killer that would be vastly different from what we already have.

The three fingered guy from the first film would make for a decent Survivor, but he should have a gen repair speed handicap :p

True, it could look rather like mixture of Lerys and Gideon, but the setting would be fitting. It would be interesting to see what easter eggs would be included.

Hopefully they could overlook gloved Paxton's finger count! 😄 Maybe give him a perk called 'Three Finger Discount'.

it's in his base kit, it's not an addon

tbh doctor doesn't really have anything else other than revealing survivor locations. the small stun when you shock someone only wins you a hit about 50% of the time because it has a delay, so the survivor can probably still throw down that pallet or vault the window.

there's also a tactic of running as far away from him as possible when he's using blast to avoid getting hit. it only reveals you if you are in his terror radius.

I think his add-ons have such long, detailed descriptions that I lost track on what's add-on and what's base. Regardless, I think it should be removed from his base kit. I think he's still highly effective without the fake doctor ability.

If we are letting Hostel in might as well let the lady from Teeth in. Or Human Centipede.

Well we have the Saw franchise catered for. Granted, the original 2004 Saw film isn't as grisly as the original 2005 Hostel film, but the Saw series as a whole is. Also, Amanda in her Pig carnation, wasn't revealed until the sequels.

Also, I haven't seen Teeth, but I would say Hostel (regardless of the gore) is of a much higher class, in terms of quality and marketability, than Human Centipede.

  • Unpopular opinion: it's my favourite map.

Would be amazing ...love the pic wayyyyyyyy better than bs garbage trickster character. Have you seen fan made alien chapter on YouTube?

I've seen a few fan-made chapter concepts and some look very good. There is also plenty of decent fan-made chase themes on there too.

I for one would like an Alien chapter.

  • @Pilot said:

For a second I thought you making refence to the the Hostel from India... Because When I searched it online I got sent to a few Indian series...

*Proceeds to zoom on killer 7 times back and forth, sun rays, god rays, image shatters, image shatters again, insert dramatic / shocking music*

    ------------

Not sure how Hostel would fit in DBD. I know only of the ones from 2005 and 2007

TBH I would love to have a killer that's doesn't have a humanoid form for once.

Yes I'm referring to those two films and the third installment (imo the original is great, the second had a few good moments and the third was pretty mediocre).

I would love a Hostel chapter. I think it's a perfect fit for DBD.

  • Yes. If the survivor has to be a set distance in order for it to one-down: fine. In which case, you could also up the default 1 hatchet amount.

  • I really dislike going against Doctor.

The whole experience is far too chaotic and noisy. The constant screaming/madness effect/electricity is a pain.

One a side note, I believe the add-on that allows the Doctor to see fake doctors (indicating a survivor presence) should be removed. Static Blast is more than enough when it comes to locating survivors' positions.
