I used to play StarCraft 2, the only "casual" lobbies are vs your friends, that's not an actual casual lobby. Apex has casual lobbies filled with sweats. I've never seen a true casual lobby in ANY game honestly.
Nah, sure even in unranked matchmaking everyone is playing seriously, because the game is like that : you have to put yourself at 100%, or you'll be destroyed, but players are more less entitled to a victory. By that I mean you won't get a "GG EZ" in the end, or "you played like an [insert what you what]", ...
Where in the ladder matchmaking, the ranked, you play your rank, you play strictly hoping that one day you'll be n°1. That's why SBMM emphasize.

I'll toss you another one. Competitive in Overwatch has become an absolute meme. Know where the Competitive sweats went? Into RoleQ Quick Play, and even into the hell of a lot more casual Quick Play Classic in the Arcade mode section.
And they still sweat like it's a Comp mode.
Overwatch players are a big joke, its community is one of the worst I've ever known. It instantly made me stop the game... Overwatch has the bigger haters possible, as LoL.
I remember that SBMM is a ladder, where you have a n°1, a second, ... Current ranking is just "you're rank 1, as are many other players" so you don't tryhard that much.
But SBMM, you can always increase your skill score, and that emphasize tryhard, and in some way, unhealthy gameplay, where casual players will must throw some games to decrease their scores, if they want some cool games.
If you implement a SBMM matchmaking, you have to implement an unranked matchmaking. I'm sorry.
-
I'm quite sure that he's outclassed by Clown and far far more by Nurse, but we will see, as everyone said.
-
Maybe that is a good idea, it would add allow some exotic builds !
But I have a question, are killers allowed to have multiple "half perks", or just one slot would be able to contain two of these perks ?

I don't know what games you play, but most games with casual lobbies are filled with sweats who can't keep up against other sweats.
Well, StarCraft 2, which is too much known for being competitive..... So I know what I'm talking about.

Guys, stop with this argument. Just stop, this is wrong. In fact there will be some tryharders in casual mode queuing, but that would be an absolute minority.
By saying that, I'm sorry but have to assume you just never played any competitive games.....

Not really true. I'm a solo surv and my last games yesterday was horrible. Slugging, tunneling and all the time the same builds like pop/tinkerer/ruin/undying makes the game in this current status not playable for me. Always facing in my last 6 matches a rank 1 or 2 killer, my mates are the same and myself is 5. Yes, I really enjoyed my last games 👎
And I'm a casual player. That means I play maybe 7 or 9 matches per day or in two days. I don't have the time to spend "more time" into this SBMMR, so it'll match me better.
Sorry to say this but in this current status not enjoyable for me 😶
This kind of games is why SBMM will hurt solo gameplay.
Unranked matchmaking would prevent this gameplay, over slugging, camp, gen rush with brand new part ,... It would happen sometimes, sure, but rarely.
I'm a strong advocate of an unranked matchmaking or Quick game (the name changes depending of the game)

Top killer mains: It's not fair. I put a lot of time and effort into this game to be good and now I'm being punished going against sweaty SWFs after SWFs.
How will I ever do my 50+ win streaks again??
____________________________________________________________________________
You're being matched against someone just as skilled as you. Sorry but no more lopsided matches for you.
My suggestion for both if you don't like it?? play less sweaty and maybe your SBMM will get lower.
Nop, I don't want SBMM because there isn't an unranked matchmaking.
If there is a ladder, quick game matchmaking should exist too. Because SBMM will emphasize competitive gameplay, so players will sweat more overall. "Dude, sweat people will go anyway in unranked games for easy games and bully" that would be a super minority, but overall it would be more enjoyable for everyone.
Even in super competitive games, the unranked games are far more nicer than the ranked ones, and hardcore people that go in unranked to bully are super rare.
Good bye the 3/5 fun and cool games, hello 3/4 hardcore games with SBMM.

If you're complaining about keys you were going to lose that match anyways. Keys aren't the problem, killers crutching perks and holding themselves back is.
Well uhh if you have a 3 gen, or the three remaining survivors are on death hook and injured, no, that wasn't a game the killer would loose.
You can leave now that your only point is destroyed, Mr. Killers are bad and use crutch perks

Actually, I'm pretty sure Scott also mentioned Blight with Nurse and Spirit, plus I think he also said to a lesser degree Billy. My guess is that the developers will nerf the perks just like they did with the Strider/Spirit combo.
And as I said, nerfing some killers by nerfing perks is a terrible choice.
-
Oh damn please yes, when the killer decided to be the worst d*ckhead that has ever existed and let the 9999 minutes pass just to let you bleed out, that's an absolute nightmare.
-
I guess all the complainers of "Ruin/Undying/Tinkerer" that have seen the Scott Jund video about it forgot something important : this build is not OP, even on Blight, the game is just transforming into a stall game, and in a stall game, patience is needed.
Only Nurse with double range of Spirit with movement speed during phase are problematic with this combo. But, I'm sorry, if a combo is nerfed to the ground because of only two killers, this is absolutely wrong. That would be the same thing as buffing Iron Will and nerfing Stridor, just to nerf Spirit but the lazy way. The result : one perk destroyed, and one perk god tier, and the main issue is not solved....

Hight mobility killers with ruin / udying. That's it. I am not saying it's OP but I think this would be a bit more healthy for the game.
Even with Ruin/Undying the perk is fine, you repair to 70%, wait for him to come, he will loose time to find you, and probably won't, he will leave, and you go back. If the killer is entitled to come to Tinkerer alert, you can play around and gens will fly, trust me.
And if the meta is Hexes, survivors have to take one perk to counter hexes. Inner Strength is a powerful perk, and Small Game is a very good perk (also there are maps, everyone forget that). Tinkerer is a good perk, so I always expect it when I reach 70% of a gen, as I always expect a Chili BBQ and enter in a locker.
Killers changed their gameplay because of DS and BT, survivors have to do the same about Tinkerer/Ruin/Undying (which are three perks that say they are here, DS and BT the killer don't know until he eats it).
Plus, the combo gets destroyed when Ruin is gone (so Undying toow in fact). And if the killer has Pop, and is a top tier killer, well, there always will be ultra top tier combo. These are called Tryharders or Competitive players. You can't remove them from the game. To destroy this combo, you have to destroy EACH perk individually, and really destroy them. Tinkerer, you would want to disable the sound cue, Undying, well, totally rework it, and Ruin, making it 150% and it's a Hex ? Totally not worth it, it would be never used.
This combo is top tier, as DS/BT/Unbreakable/Sprint Burst (or Dead Hard) is !
You activate Ruin on your gen by tapping it ? Expect Tinkerer, play around, transcend Humanity, escape :p I genuinely think we can't do anything about this combo, but to destroy each perk, and that would be a really terrible decision.
-
The perk is fine as it is, in what way a sound cue and an undetectable effect is OP ? You can even harass the killer with it if you're smart.
-
@RoboMojo said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/276553/any-proposed-changes-to-ruin-undying-tink
I wouldn't change them at all. Unlike the old Survivor 'small pp' build, the Killer 'small pp' build has meaningful counter play. As Survivor, you can:
Run detectives hunch or small game. (This will become much more viable once inner strength becomes a general perk)
AND / OR
Split up on gens. Seriously. The Killer can only pressure one person at a time if you split up.
When both of these are used, it is entirely possible to beat this build consistently.
Also, I would like to add that when you know the killer has this combo, you can harass him.
Repair to 70%, hide, see the killer losing time, he goes, you go back. It works more if the killer is a brain dead that always comes when Tinkerer rings the bell. This is annoying if Ruin is still there, but the killer will loose more time than survivors by searching people and stopping chases.
-
Having Bloodlust faster is a bit unfair, and it would emphasize chasing like an idiot. The gameplay would be an absolute no brain mode on.
And survivors wouldn't have anything to counter that (only God pallets, but these are very limited).
As the OP said, some tweaks to the current effect would be nice, like a longer undetectable effect, or maybe something more. Even though I think that no perks should reward a Bloodlust use, as this was created to counter infinite loop, not being a major part of the killer gameplay.
-
Let's do that chronologically :
Firt I didn't main any surv, I didn't like anyone of them, but I imagine I did main Meg, because I had Sprint Burst and Adrenaline basekit (I didn't want to spend too much BP in other surv, in the beginning, Sprint Burst/ Lightweight/ Adrenaline /Kindred was all I needed)
Then came the Silent Hill Chapter, I loved the PH them so I immediately bought the chapter, and tried Cheryl.
Who has a fabulous voice imo. And since this chapter, I main her, and I even bought Cybil Bennett, who is my actual main. She's a badass woman (daymn she rides a freakin chopper), I like that, plus her style is uncommon in DbD !
And killers.... I mained Nurse. I suffered. A lot. XD starting the game by wanting at all costs to master her. I'm a pure lover of hard gameplay, a real masochistic player. I love Doom Eternal in Ultra nightmare, I love Ultrakill, I love StarCraft 2, .... That's my passion, eating good and (maybe too ?) hard games in my face.
That was an absolute error, but now I main her like hell, and, as I said, I love PH theme, so I'm playing him sometimes when I want chill games !
-
1. Chili BBQ
2. Lethal Pursuer
3. Sloppy Butcher
4. Save The Best For Last
5. Agitation (so underrated imo)
6. Mad Grit (when it works, it's a total GG's)
7. Iron Grasp

So swf will continue to use it way too much while solos struggle to get use out of it. Yet another perk that's a middle finger to solos.
How do you expect the devs to balance perks to be useful in both swf and solo if they never give QOL changes to make them more useful in exclusively solo??
That's actually well said !
-
@Emeal said:

-
There are a few killers that needs a rework or tweaks the faster possible. Trickster for a complete rework, Spirit to give just a little bit of feedback to surv, Trapper because he lacks something.
But, Myers is old as hell, and overridden by some killers and even perks. I would like to see him matching today's DbD taste, if i can say.

Killer perks have very strict aura reading limits for a reason, killer thrives of information and is required to make most of their plays off of what they do and do not know. This is why we have never received a killer perk that increases the range a killer can utilize that information.
This reason can be applied to survivors too, so it's not a good point imo.
I think they would add this perk one day, because it would improve some underrated and underused perks.

Wow, there are actually people that are complaining about Tinkerer, that is something.
When survivors want to sit on a gen and stop being aware when repairing.....
Seriously, this perk, when you know the killer has it (and you can know it by... Just paying attention.), It becomes a harassing perk for survivors. Repair to 70%, get out if you think he would come, wait a few seconds, and come back to active again Tinkerer if the gen has regressed... You can mess with the killer like hell, and his time would be used to nothing but "where survivors and banana".
And I really don't know in what way "it punishes survivors that are doing objective, this is bad design", the objective of the killer is to protect the gens, and it helps the killer by showing where to go. The undetectable effect is cool, can be used in chase, or to sneak behind UNAWARE survivors.
If players are bad and not paying attention to a potential Tinkerer, this is not the perk that is to blame.

a pretty massive buff. Comobing it with other heal related perks would allow for some extremely annoying strats to heal yourself off hook in a few seconds (on the order of around 10 seconds if combo'd with 2 other perks)
Imagine this new SC with Desperate Measure, Bothany and Resilience.
But yes, buffing or nerfing a perk has to be wise thought because there is synergy/combo with other perks that has to be kept in mind.

Ill say it once and ill say it again, this game will straight up die if it goes longer than 3 months without legit new content (not new cosmetics).
People NEED new killers/maps/survivors/perks to stop this game from becoming stale, it will very quickly die off if they do that.
I know consoles are having quite the problem right now, but they already addressed that theyre fixing it, and no content drops are being held back to do so.
Wish you put a "both" option on the poll, because thats what they should keep focusing on.
Well people need it, in fact in 3-4 months a few people would leave, but the comeback of the game would immediately brings them back, as the big final update of Borderlands 2 did (7 years after the release of the game).
Plus, a big optimization would make any further content far more easy to do. When you have a spaghetti code, with terrible conception, everything is so difficult, and will ask more hardware resources than usual.
In my opinion, this is a win-win situation for them, they would be more confortable to add any content, and we would have a sane gameplay and updates.
And you can't do both : if you're adding content to a code, you have to add a code that is working with the current code. So if the base code is disgusting, what you'll add to it won't be a good piece of code.
Like a house, you don't add rooms if the floor and foundations are unstable. Developing is the same. So you can't do both. Trust me.

People DCing against a killer is 0 reason to nerf or change them. The type of people who DC will DC for literally any reason, then blame their opponent.
Map? Not their fault they DC; the map is 'unfair.'
Killer? Not their fault they DC; the Killer is 'Broken' or 'Unfun'.
Perks? Again; not their fault. That perk is 'crutch' or 'OP' or 'Unfun'.
BHVR should never, EVER balance around DCers. They could make the most balanced Killer ever, and some people would still DC and claim the Killer is 'OP'.
Well every surv DC'ed facing the old Legion.
Tbh I do the same against Trickster, there is no counter play if the Trickster is playing safe, you will be down in a matter of second. A strong killer is a thing, but a killer that doesn't provide any actual counterplay is something else.
Everyone knows from the start that his power has no in between : or he's busted, or he's underwhelming as hell. Plus his power is uninspired.
To conclude, he needs an actual and complete rework.

Although you're clearly joking I just can't get over the fact that DBD runs like a total joke on PS4/XBOX1 even though some PS3/XBOX360 games had comparable or even better graphics.
People really have to remember games like Crysis 3 (played it on PS3 back then) and then look at DBD.
A game from 2013 with these graphics ran perfectly fine on PS3:
https://i.imgur.com/dM3IgXd.jpg
Meanwhile this game (DBD) with these graphics stutters / freezes on PS4/XB1/some PCs:
https://www.playcentral.de/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Killer_Tentacule.jpg
I shouldn't be complaining since I no longer have to deal with fps drops as I got a Series X now but I remember just how terrible it ran on my XB1 so it still annoys me knowing that some people I play with merely run into walls because the game made them do it.
You can't even tell if someone was just a bad player or their game froze making them look like a bad player.
Yeah Crisis 3 was nut holy ! Consoles couldn't handle it by the way xD

Know nothing about them. How do their symmetries work? Also do both sides have the same objective or do they differ? Depending on the answers to these questions, it could explain why things like smurfs or 'tryhards' are less frequent in them.
I guarantee you, just as there are people deranking to rank 16 and bullying new players right now, there are gonna be excellent players who play exclusively unranked for the same purpose. And this is gonna be way more noticable due to the nature of the game. A good team of survivors can deny a new killer any chance to win, and a good killer can stomp any team of new survivors. There needs to be a ranking system in place to prevent players with too much skill disparity between them to be matched against each other as much as possible.
Halo Reach is a well balanced game, because everyone has access to the same things, and StarCraft 2 is quite assymetric because of races (well, the game is highly competitive, so it is well balanced), but the goal is the same in both sides. Anyway I don't know why it would change anything.
These types of people would be a minority, and in ranked they can still derank to stomp on new survivors or new killers.... So providing the two modes wouldn't hurt anyone.
-
No dude, f- censorship, do what you want to do :)

This. Nothing stops them and it would most definitely happen. Separating unranked and ranked queues would never work.
So every other games that has unranked/quick game matchmaking, it doesn't work ? They are full of tryharders ?
Sure there will be tryharders that would come in quick game, we can't prevent that, in any world.
But the reality would be that the majority of the players in quick game would play way more sweaty, and I even think post game chat would be overall way nicer
-
Yes, it won't be hard to provide the two game mode, like, they just have to "copy paste" the old match making if you're searching for a quick game,
And use the new SBMM if the player chose a ranked game....
But you know,
It's exactly the same thing as to be able to enable/disable chat filter, they won't do anything, because they know what's better for us......

Nobody would take it seriously if they'd stop spamming.
FNaF was cool in 2014, sure, but it's fanbase has always been toxic. They aren't doing themselves any favors with this behavior.
Let's talk about spamming, so the candyman community is toxic.
Toxic by doing what ? Please develop.
Yeah, as I said the kids that did their first steps in the horror genre now have grown, and when you have grown with a game, you love it, and one of its character becomes a strong symbol of the genre.
The fanbase of FNAF aren't kids anymore, and they ask for their idol to be added, what's wrong with that ? Like the fact they are doing things will change your life, why is it necessary to systematically crush them. From the beginning, it's not even a "if they weren't spamming they wouldn't get that treatment", from the beginning they are crushed in the DbD community

They have that right, you know it's Hellraiser ? Move on and let them do whatever they want, time will prove they are wrong, or right.

And that's annoying as hell(raiser-let's stop here), it's a game, a mf game, why it has to be that complicated, that's unbearable from my point of view, that because of a lack of knowledge about the Scott Cawthon case (that is harassment by the way, what he got), the FNAF franchise is boycotted.
