If feels like this post is just an excuse to stir up drama.

I think it's pretty unlikely, characters like xenomorph have higher chances but aside from that I don't think so.

We've already got pyramid head who is stronger than the entity but I want more characters who are stronger than her because then we would someone to put her in her place if the need arises. Give us Cthulhu or Satan himself. Idk but you guys know where I'm going with this.
Ph is a person's guilt taken form while the entity is a go's, how the hell he is stronger than the entity?

Here are some head cosmetics that need fixing that I found.
One thing that I have to say is that a lot of the cosmetics look way worse in low graphics (comparing with before the update).

algae hair Nea ( it doesn't have the black part anymore)

meg's face animations make her waaaay too angry

jeff looks way older now imo, I think is the lack of eyebrows + eyes too small
I like 95% of the head updates but some still need some work
Isn't Jeff supposed to be old? I've always seen him as someone in his 40s

They should just stop making maps because all people do is complain about any map put in the game. It's always so bad for one side or another and nothing is ever good enough... This game is forever stuck in an endless loop of reworks with no end in sight.
I feel like everyone just wants every map to be the same, it's the reason i hate outdoor maps so much, they are just a copy/paste of each other with a coat of paint over it.
-
Im a fan of the changes, the only things i didn't like were the coldwind daytime and Kate's face.
-
THIS, I'm a Carlos simp and i need him ;-;
-
New Dwight is kinda weird but between the new and old versions I'll choose the new one, I hated his frozen shocked expression.
-
I think Meg looking angry/ determined kinda fits her
-
It will be just like Midwich, try to ignore for some time, people will still complain but it will be way less often.
-
Just finished Fearstreet and some of the killers looked so cool, it would be pretty lit

Teachables are canon, perhaps not the perk themselves, but the knowledge that they represent being given to others through the bloodweb is canon, as shown in the quotes that keep appearing when you level it up:
Last night I got out of The Fog, in a matter of speaking. I arrived in a pocket of tranquillity where the monster was nowhere to be seen. I stopped running and was immediately filled with a strange calmness. I lay down near the bonfire and closed my eyes for the first time in what seemed like days. After long, deep breaths, I plunged into what I first thought was the darkness of a dreamless sleep. And then I saw it: the Bloodweb, a space between reality and abstraction. There is no sleep here, only torment. Even my own mind is shared and bent at The Entity's will.
I feel confident that I can inculcate my awareness of the Bloodweb to the others that are trapped here with me. Maybe they can unlock their inner strength with my help.
Survivors losing memories after each trial wouldn’t retcon that, as it still canon that they retain some knowledge gained from it, like doing generators, totems and the main rules of the trials.
I prefer it like this, I the idea of memory loss, but if it was just a partial loss like not remembering who escaped and who died, wich killer or was and were they were it would be okay for me.

I like the map :(

I wish it was the other way around, older lore is too short.

Thanks god, i won't miss the goblin

Try not to be stealthy? Ur not gonna learn to loop if you don't go and try it
Some people are hopeless cases, I'm not stealthy, i watched a lot of tutorials/guides whatever, know all the maps layouts, have 3k hours and I suck at looping.
-
This is my list. I marked some characters from the same franchise as legendaries like Cindy being a survivor and Brenda being her legendarie for example.
-
Re and silent hill, never played and didn't know nothing about it before the teaser and it got me really hyped. Played Re2 and Re3 remake, Re 7 and 8 as for silent hill I just read the story and enjoyed it a lot.
-
It makes more sense like this, hopefully the devs will do something.
-
Wich console are you playing at? Mine is a ps4 slim and it runs the same as other maps.

As a survivor main, I used to like the Coldwind maps because they were kind of survivor-sided. After the rework I just hate them, not because they got better for killer or anything of the sort, it just hurts my eyes. And goddamn totems are invisible on these maps.
I just wish they went back to night time.
-
That map is not for everyone, it's my favorite map but I can see why it's one of the more hated ones.

And that contradicts with gameplay and the Trials themselves, unless all Trials with duplications, non-default cosmetics, and all but one Player account are "non-cannon".
So my head-cannon is The Entity develops a preference for certain Character archetypes to be used for the Trials. "Claudette Morel" is less of an individual, but more of a blueprint of experience and emotional state. The Entity trawls through Universes snatching up individuals closely resembling these blueprints. Most of which resembling the core variant, but sometimes they may diverge significantly. These variants able to be used in Trials, but who may be "conditioned" not to realize, or even notice, that they're in the Trials with "themselves".
(Funnily enough, this is similar in concept to Loki with the "Core timeline" and the TVA, difference being the "core" variants are plucked for the Trials to suffer or Kill (or both) endlessly)
In regards to what The Void actually is, that still is a good question.
I think a lot of gameplay features usually are non canon to lore like multiple survivors or perks per example, for me it makes more sense, but your headcanon is pretty cool!

Hmm. For Tome I, the Alchemist, that doesn't seem to be the case, he was part of the Trials before becoming a Blight, and was able to subdue the Killers. But for Tome V, that could be the case for Talbot. The question is if they're the same. (And if DBD does retcon, or write things off as a progressing timeline/alternate realities)
Regarding skins being cannon: It could be reasoned that cosmetics are simply alternate versions of Survivors/Killers from different universes.
Hell, I only bothered reading the Observer log sections for the Tomes, but it seems that from Tome 5, an alternate variant of Yui could be an Oni variant, from our perspective a rule 63 skin variant. (Memory 377)
Arcus 2217 of Tome 5 directly describing an in-Universe observation of a Survivor variant of Claudette. A bit on the nose, and if taken at face value, Emperor Dwight is another variant in Tome 6.
Devs said in a stream a while ago that there's only one version of a character present in realm. In that tome it said that the entity might have preferences over who it picks, in theory it probably waits for the current claudette to go to the void to pick another one.

Teachable are gameplay only. Canonically survivors lose their memories after each trial and killers are kept separately in their own areas. Talbot/Blight was able to capture the killers before his mutation because of the knowledge he gained from Vigo's journal and the serum he used, which allowed him to access areas none else can.
It makes more sense them to be gameplay only but the memory loose always irked with me, it contradicts a lot with og lore so I tend to ignore.

There are different, alternate universe versions of every Killer and Survivor in DBD, therefore almost any ship is canon.
(I heard from someone that this is actually true, but I’ve yet to find anything on it)
But devs also said sometime ago that they are not present at the same time, so no multiple survivors in trials.
Edit: sorry I forgot it was a post about headcanons and not really discussions :p

You say that like the entity isn't Eldritch in nature aka its Alien in nature.
But if your referring to the non Eldritch aliens then I agree they'd be out of place.
It's just that the entity's feeding ground is on earth. It sounds unlikely it would look for a killer elsewhere.

Aliens in general.

Yes, i like getting new lore and a lot of outfits for the price of one. I completed every rift until now.

I remember a quote from the devs a while ago (at least I think so, my mind might be making this up) that licensed characters were unlikely for tomes because you have to pay for them and they want people to be able to finish archives for free (even if you have to grind a ridiculous amount for an original character, it's still technically possible to get them for free). Bill, being the only licensed character in the tome, is a unique exception because he IS free so there isn't a problem with people being forced to pay.
So sad as it is to say, I don't think it's possible right now.
But at the end of the last year they said something among the lines of "there's a few liscenced characters wanting to tepp their stories". We only got bill until now, so i think it's possible.

I’m probably jumping the gun here but is the new clown cosmetic gonna be a store item or a rift unlock? I ask because it’s coming with a tome.
Most likely rift skin

Oni has been like that since launch thanks god, sometimes it feels like he gets his power every 2s imagine if orbs didn't disappear.
-
Not a fan of anything space related but if people are happy with i wouldn't mind that much.
-
I forgot to put the " Every character is real in an universe and fiction in another", this for me changed the liscenced characters for the worst and I just ignore this part of the lore.
We all share the fear of the unknown and having a survivor arriving in a trial and knowing everything about the enemie is pretty stupid. This also applies for survivors, someome like Laurie could spent all her time off trials wondering on how her life would have turned out to be, but if someone knew her from Halloween they would just tell her, for me it takes away a lot of the emotional depth that liscenced characters could have and I preferred when their stories were all real in the main universe.

I don't think myers is even capable of that
I just see Michael as someone who just doesn't care about, he knows there's a punishment for disobeying and he doesn't care. The Entity probably already know this and let it slide a few times since there's no point but it can definitely stops him if it wants.

@dezzmont said:
The entity seems to be willing to cooperate with killers of a certain level of... cosmic ability so to speak. There is no realistic way the entity COULD 'trap' Pyramid Head, and Myers maybe for a bit for as long as Myers doesn't realize his 'true power level.' Instead it lets them assist him.
Pennywise is the avatar of something semi-omnipotent, much like The Entity, so it could full well show up in some sort of partnership capacity. Pennywise's goals and motives are extremely similar to The Entity's, even though their preferred... flavor profile lets say is different, and so it could be as simple as The Entity inviting Pennywise to dinner, especially if Pennywise gets the PH treatment and has a pseudo-mori baked into their kit.
The real weird thing is that Pennywise showing up has implications in terms of Steven King's multiverse, especially because The Entity would fit into it extremely well. But that also would up the 'cosmic level' of the setting a bit. Obviously we don't need to get The Other (AKA GOD) or Maturin the Turtle (Also kinda god) in there, but I am not sure the implication of the existence of powerful benevolent cosmic forces really fits DBD, though it would lead to cool perk fodder (and make sense for blessing totems!).
And this is assuming we are just talking Pennywise, and not The Deadlights, which is Pennywise's 'true nature,' both the same thing as him but also a different, grander entity. Low key The Entity is really really really obviously based on The Deadlights (A sapient pocket dimension that kidnaps people to torture for all eternity) so that is more of a problem for the hypothetical crossover than anything else, unless BHVR wants to say The Entity is The Deadlights, or some reflection of it, reconciling Pennywise can be a bit hard because The Deadlights are just so comically similar to The Entity it would be weird to not address this.
So the baggage is way less 'The Entity couldn't tame Pennywise' and more 'Bringing Pennywise in brings a whole lot of lore DBD very clearly borrowed from that will be hard to reconcile in a cosmology sense.' But this was also somewhat a problem with Silent Hill kinda. Silent Hill serves as less of a problem. While Silent Hill is a genius loci (Well, three kinda, Silent Hill lore is weird) much like The Entity, its way more passive and non-sapient despite having a clear MO and goals (At least, two of the three Silent Hill 'dimensions' do), so its easier to kinda just ignore that but its still sorta weird.
So maybe they will just completely ignore the heavy lore and just say 'Pennywise is here because he saw all these tasty snacks in The Entity's Realms and not even he knows if he and The Entity are one and the same or not' and just dodge all this nerdy stuff.
Why people hold Myers to such a high standard? The movies only depicted him as an immortal guy, survivors can briefly stop him with a pallet and the entity is a God, it would just traps him in a room until he starts obeying again.
-
I agree with the memory loss, it takes away every chance of story progression and it's a pretty boring concept.
I don't mind the cultists, it's cool to know the influence the entity has in the real world, i just don't want them being forced into a "main antagonist", it's implied they took part in Charlotte and Talbolt's abduction but on another archive it also says that they left strange symbols in a asylum. I don't want them being the sole reason for every character abduction.
One of the things that bothers me a lot is that some characters are fictional and some are real in other universes.

As long as the power is cool, and if the character has nice lore so it wouldn't feel out of place I would gladly welcome him.

Spirit + stridor
Blight + tinkerer
The spirit match will be boring as hell, but when i am against a tinkerer blight i just want to quit.

Let's better nerf Rin, Nurse, Blight, Canniball, Executioner, Huntress, Deathslinger. Playing against them is sometimes not as fun and fair as against the rest. And add to each killer bug that the Clown has now. And dress all killers in clown costumes and replace chase music with music from the Benny Hill show. With offscreen laughter after each stun, blinding, gen done. To make this game look and sound exactly as it really is, and not ridiculously claim to be horror.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2365893#Comment_2365893
This is exactly the devs fault. They made a balance where you don't have to be careful to survive.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2366233#Comment_2366233
Even seeing the killer as just an opponent, you may be afraid that your character will die early, which will cause the match to end too early for you. That will be quite authentic and real for the horror component as well. Because it will make you avoid him and not play dumb game of "hey, I'm here, catch me ahahaha". Which killer are you usually more careful with and less catching his eye. Spirit or Pig? Executioner or Billy? Certainly some are much more feared.
It wouldn't be fear for me, more annoyance. And for the other question it would be killers that can end the chase early like ph, nemesis and etc since I'm not a great looper and stealth killers.

i can’t tell wether generalv and i are thinking of the same sound, but the one im talking about is at the very beginning of this video where nea loads into the match, and it plays as the camera is turning. you sort of have to turn your volume up to hear, but it should sound like a faint ringing sound. i used to love that sfx!
I miss this sound, adding more ambience sounds wouldn't fix the lack of fear but it would certainly help.

Survivors don't lose memories after the trials, I HATED when they introduced this in the archives. It just take away every opportunity of story progression and it also contradicts old lore.

Huh. I heard somewhere that The Entity mind-wipes the survivors into thinking every trial is their first. That way they don't just give up and The Entity can keep feeding on their hope of escape.
Benedict being the exception as he somehow managed to retain his memories.
I read that too but I don't take that part too seriously due to the older lore indicating otherwise, maybe only some losing memories? Everyone could lose them but maybe our survivor cast were "special" and able to retain them.
-
Pretty sure the survivors know they are trapped. We have the teachable perks, Benedict's notes and the campfire to back that up.
-
Judging for the survivor's perks for me it's worth it, Didn't like playing as Nemesis but o always lose when im against him so idk.
