The ones in canon with the direct link to the Entity are Felix and Talbot/Blight. Devs mentioned both have an effect on the realm as well.
Talbot was only able to travel the realm because he kept himself hidden from the Entity. He also was able to harness and use part of the Entity's own power and he did all that before he mutated into the mindless monster that is the Blight.

The only killer with damage not related to their pre-entity life is Trapper, so this arguement kinda falls apart there
Killers being willing and unwilling from the damage on their bodies is canonical.
-
It was stated that none of the survivors were supposed to be truly good people. Survivors were all meant to be flawed in some way or the other, they are not that innocent.
For example we are told survivors did kill another survivor in the realm because he kept screaming and they wanted him to shut up so the killers won't find them. Jonah is not the first survivor to cause death, Talbot/Blight was picked by the Entity to be a survivor and he caused death without realizing it till he discovers it later, Nea caused the death of a guy who followed her because she marked his car, David harmed people and we were told he is an ######### long ago before they started using the tomes and Dwight almost caused his boss to kill someone because of the stuff he put in his coffee. What they made it clear for us is, these people are picked to be survivors because they showed guilt and remorse and didn't lose their humanity like the killers.

I'm on board with the idea that she's basically the host of the crow's power and what she's doing is very unclear to her as her vision is under the entity's control, based on her eyes being almost pitch black. She uses her weapon like a paintbrush. Maybe she think's she's creating something? There's also the spirit idea where she wants revenge against The Black Vale for their corruption and killing the artists and her friends.
She laughs when she hit the survivors, so she could be enjoying it and view it as art. Like how she saw the death of the man as a piece of art.
Someone pointed out there are no crows in South America. After reading her story I believe the crows were sent by the Entity and was keeping an eye on her cause it sensed the potential in her and was preparing her cause the Artist saw herself as the reason death come to the people she is close to and the Entity wanted to take advantage of that, like how it took advantage of the Spirit rage.

What killers besides trapper have damage tho i can't see any other killers with that kind of thing
Focusing on the original only.
Damaged: Trapper, Wraith, Blight, Nurse and maybe Hag if the runes she used are not what transformed before she was taken.
Plague was diseased before she was taken and Spirit cuts were received from her father, so these two are not damaged.
-
@BasementDweller said:
I could be wrong, but didn't the Entity torture Trapper because he didn't want to kill for the Entity?
Maybe the same is happening to her? Who knows.
If the killers are unwilling you can tell from the damage to their body. Killers without damage are killing willingly.
The Artist doesn't have any damage on body other than from being tortured when she was kidnapped by the man and was given paint/ink as a weapon.
Her story feel similar to the Spirit story with how both felt rage. They may explain more in her tome but rage and maybe wanting revenge seems to be the main thing for now.

Devs mentioned cosmetics are not canon. The only canon skins are the default and the killers blighted skins because it canonically connects to Blight lore.
-
None worked with Blight when he was experimenting, he worked alone while trying to find a way out of the realm by creating and using different types of serum. The Entity couldn't get Blight because he kept himself hidden after finding Vigo's journal and he may also have used part of the Entity's own power to help with that because he was able to harness it. Entity got him later because his addiction to the serum took over and he started to lose his memories.
After Talbot mutated into the feral beast that is Blight he completely lost his mind and he has no memories of who he was. The serum may have replaced his bloodstream, so there is no way to get rid of it. He is probably the most devout killer because he has no emotions or will of his own and has the closest connection to the Entity of any of the killers.
-
Canonically survivors lose a little bit of their soul with each death. When they lose all hope, they become useless to the Entity and it put them in the void. Any survivors that is mortally wounded and 'die' during a trail or after escaping will be revived by the Entity, but it also erases their memories clean and relocate them back to the campfire.
-
They either move to the next trail immediately after or may just get moved to their own areas after a trial is ended because canonically killers are not kept together, each of them have their own areas they are kept in separately.
-
Devs said cosmetics are not canon. The only canon skins are the default skins and the blighted killers skins because it canonically connects to Talbot/Blight lore. They also said there is only 1 of each characters in the realm. Since the Entity favor some of its food it may just wait till one character is in the void then it takes another version of the same character in the realm.

i always thought time wasn’t linear in the realm so Talbots and blight could both exist but idk
They can keep Blight around for gameplay or separate Blight and Talbot, and we end getting both Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, the serum can be used as the reason for that.

I'd beg to differ... It doesn't make sense to get blighters killers who were brought in by the entity after Talbot's transformation, yet retcon it and say it happened before. The other survivors, or even the Observer, could introduce a new storyline that revolves around the serums, or even an effort by a character to "cure" Talbot.
There was never a truly satisfactory answer to *how* Talbot captured, knocked out, or restrained any killer to perform these experiments; since he wasn't a survivor, he couldn't have stabbed them in the back with a vial A Lá Decisive Strike.
There's just so many more ways to continue the blighted events and the story. IMHO, which isn't worth much.
The serum is what gives him the strength to capture the killers and he later was able to harness and use part of the Entity's own power, devs already confirmed that. Talbot was a survivor and he was hunted by the killers in the first Halloween event story. This is part of the Hallowed Blight Journal.
They really should have kept Talbot around and use him like how they are using the Observer, at least there will be a chance of getting new things instead of what they did by ending the event and the story. The way they built Talbot and the theme of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde they give him, give them the option to do many things with him and he still has a chance to be cured cause unlike the other killers he mutated while in the realm cause of a high dose of the serum. They can even give us an event that let us the players cure him, I hope they see potential and use it.

Right, but we're getting 2 new killers being blighted, after the experimentation by Talbot has stopped. We also have previous survivors dressed as apprentices or assistants of Vigo, clearly having used serums in studies. Somewhere, pustulas must still be popping up and someone is still messing around with them.
Sorry, just smells of cheap excuse to not provide a large Halloween event this year.
Tell the devs that, they mentioned that on a stream and a tweet that the blighted event and the story for that event ended when they turned Talbot/Blight into a mindless monster. Any stories we get for Talbot/Blight will be a prequel not a sequel (unless they say otherwise) and any blighted skins we get for the killers is from before he mutated.
-
The Entity didn't stop having the yearly blight. We are not getting the event because Talbot/Blight mutated into the mindless feral beast and is no longer around to experiment with the blight. If we get Talbot back somehow we may get another event cause the main reason he will keep experimenting with the blight is to find a way to escape the realm.
-
The Entity need to undergo a purge because the blight make it weak and the yearly purge has been mentioned in Vigo's journal. The Entity is still dealing with the yearly blight it's not gone. The main reason we are not getting a blighted event because Talbot mutated into a feral beast and is no longer around to experiment with the blight, if we somehow got Talbot back we will get another blighted event for sure.
-
They didn't add a memory 1751. Don't focus too much on the numbers, they are always random.

Does the entity just grab a bunch of crows after it snatches people? o.o
They are not normal crows, they are part of the Entity. Everything in the realm is part of the Entity.

Someone made this video on how they think it'd change the Stranger Things timeline according to the DBD world with the entity pulling them into its world.
I meant the devs not being in control of licensed characters and how the owners of Stranger Things are removing them from the game.

Non-canon to main series. Canon to this story. Think of it as an alternate universe or whatever of a story it's somewhat more than fan fiction it's part of the Dead by Daylight story.
I really wish it was this easy I mean look at what happen with Stranger Things.

Exactly, just because they're from another game or whatever originally doesn't make them non-canon.
No it's not canon to the main series the characters are from and the bios/archives stories stories for these characters are no different from fanfic. Licensed owners allow the devs the creative use but they do not canonize whatever being made.

Guest characters are not canon.

Hmm. For Tome I, the Alchemist, that doesn't seem to be the case, he was part of the Trials before becoming a Blight, and was able to subdue the Killers. But for Tome V, that could be the case for Talbot. The question is if they're the same. (And if DBD does retcon, or write things off as a progressing timeline/alternate realities)
Regarding skins being cannon: It could be reasoned that cosmetics are simply alternate versions of Survivors/Killers from different universes.
Hell, I only bothered reading the Observer log sections for the Tomes, but it seems that from Tome 5, an alternate variant of Yui could be an Oni variant, from our perspective a rule 63 skin variant. (Memory 377)
Arcus 2217 of Tome 5 directly describing an in-Universe observation of a Survivor variant of Claudette. A bit on the nose, and if taken at face value, Emperor Dwight is another variant in Tome 6.
Talbot WAS part of the trails but after he found Vigo's hidden lab he was able to keep himself out of it cause of the information he learned from Vigo's journal and the serum he created, we already have a conformation on him being out of trails and visiting other areas in the realm none else can go to from the devs.
There was a retcon and it was confirmed by the devs. Talbot was retconned to be the speaker in 2018's Hallowed Blight journal entries, originally attributed to Benedict Baker.
Yes, there is a multi vers but they made it clear to us when it's a different version of the character like how they did with Yui and how they are hinting it with the Cloudette from the rift but in Talbot case there was non and in a stream a dev was talking about Talbot/Blight story and he didn't mentioned it being a different version of the character at all but kept talking about it being the same character. They also talked about his story in behind the scenes and they kept talking about the same character, nothing at all being a different version.

He was experimenting on them while he was a Survivor, presumably mid-Trial. He got trashcanned into The Void, somehow regained the memory of the Pustula, and became our favorite crack-addict grandpa we know today.
(At least the currently explored Lore version, there are other variants of
himThe Blight as noted by the Cosmetics.)Talbot/Blight was able get into the areas each killer is kept in because of the serum. The serum also helped Talbot stay outside the trials and the Entity couldn't detect him.
Cosmetics are not canon, the only canon skins are the blighted skins. There are no other versions of Talbot/Blight and the reason he has different outfit/design in the archives is because they didn't finalize his design back then, and he was meant to be Benedict Baker, but they changed that.
-
Teachable are gameplay only. Canonically survivors lose their memories after each trial and killers are kept separately in their own areas. Talbot/Blight was able to capture the killers before his mutation because of the knowledge he gained from Vigo's journal and the serum he used, which allowed him to access areas none else can.
-
1: Talbot/Blight was able to capture the killers because of the serum he created, which he learned about when he discovered Vigo's hidden lab while running away from a killer and in it, he found Vigo's journal. He learned from the journal that he can escape the realm using the Cankers when it blooms into Pustulas and that the Entity undergoes a purge that happens once a year and during this time the Entity is infested with blight and become weak, the Pustulas only show up during this time. Wanting to escape, he decided to follow what the journal says and start creating serum from the Pustulas. Talbot couldn't create the same serum from the journal because Vigo's journal had some of these pages torn out. He was able to capture killers and he only experimented on them. Talbot experimenting on the killers were strictly business, it was not for enjoyment. He needed to find the best process for creating the serum without the bad side effects, that's why each serum injection has its own number with the material that was mixed with written on it for each killer.
2: The Entity created the trials so it can generate emotions to feed on. It needed the help of a cult to be where it is now, it is not some kind of unstoppable god. It is more of a parasite cause it needs to feed on emotion to stay alive and gain power and during Halloween it becomes very weak. We already have characters that fought and pushed back the Entity like Felix's father and Felix is part of that group too. We also have characters that used the Entity power against it and it couldn't do a thing about it like Vigo and Talbot.
3: We don't have that many infos about the Observer. He was banished from his world for reasons we don't know yet and is held as a "prisoner" in the tower. The Observer has something called the Auris, which he uses it to see the memories of those who are stuck in the realm. He is also trying to discover what else he could use the Auris for and if it could be used to help him escape.

A survivor CAN become a killer (Talbot was thrown into the void then he got out and became a killer because of his addiction)
Personally I think the survivors who might become killers are: Jake Nea Feng David and Yun-Jin
Though becoming a killer when you lost all of your hope Is very rare.
Talbot become a killer because of what he have done and the Entity needing a way to control him, not because he lost hope.
All survivors who become empty husk are thrown in the void. Killers are killers because they lost their humanity and made a choice and are willing to kill, which have been mentioned in a stream.
-
@ItzZane_ said:
Maybe...But you kind of forgot something...The thing that seperates survivors from killers is that survivors have humanity, Like they only help eachother because it feels right, But who knows Maybe when Yun-Jin loses hope she might become another killer like blight.
Yun-Jin is very difficult to understand, I don't know if she is willing to help others
But what i think is that she helps others Just differently...It's hard to explain.
If survivor loses all hope they are put in the void (trash bin), they don't become killers.
Talbot/Blight become what he is now because the Entity took advantage of his addiction and corrupted him, turning him into a feral beast. To turn him into a killer the Entity tortured and destroyed his memories of his past self to make him an actual killer because he didn't lose his humanity, which is the main reason he was picked as a survivor. Also the Entity saw him as a threat because he took part of the Entity personal power and used it and he was able to get out of the void and he hid himself from it, he also has a lot of information about it. The only way to get 'rid' of Talbot is by turning him into a feral beast.
It was stated that none of the survivors were supposed to be truly good people. Survivors were all meant to be flawed in some way or the other. For example we are told survivors did kill another survivor in the realm because he kept screaming, and they wanted him to shut up so the killers won't find them. David King did hurt people and the Devs told us he is an ######### long before they start using the tomes to show us the stories more clearly. Nea caused someone to die accidentally, which is something Talbot did too but all of them were picked as a survivors.
What they made it clear for us is, these people are picked to be survivors because they showed guilt and remorse and didn't lose their humanity like the killers.
-
Duality is the reality of this world.
They are written as human beings and not the perfect Mary Sue just cause they are the 'good guys'. It was stated that none of the survivors were supposed to be truly good people. Survivors were all meant to be flawed in some way or the other, they are not that innocent.
-
The reason why he has different outfit in the archives is because they didn't finalize his design back then and he was meant to be a different character (Benedict Baker) but they changed it.
On a stream one of the devs mentioned how they wanted to show how Talbot become the Blight in Doors Unknown and there was no mention of this being a different version, rather it was the same character. They also mentioned that they want to use him to explain some things that happened in the realm, and the events will be from before he became The Blight.
-
So far no for both but that idea make sense because of the way they built the character and the skin description does point to Talbot still existing within the Blight.
The devs wanted Blight to fit the idea of a man reduced to a mindless, wild monster that goes feral and bumps into things. Him running into walls and bumping into things could be meant to show that as well.

I guess we'll wait and Yui had visions of the future BEFORE being captured by the entity we've never seen/known any survivor who had visions from the entity
It's no difference from what the Entity have done with other survivors, each survivor were taken in a different way that affect them personally and there is nothing weird about it. Yui had a conflict because of the choices she made and Entity used that. If I'm going to follow your idea then the Entity targeted Felix twice and had to trick him to get him into the realm but all it did is just using something that affect him and that about it.
Agree, can't wait to see more of the survivors and killers stories, they should add more stuff to keep us busy with.

I checked the BTS of descend beyond and they did not mention felix being special Also kate is special too Forget about her? Yui i think is special too
Why are so focused on 'special'....? Felix like Talbot is very close to the Entity if you want to see this as 'special' then fine I guess. Kate just run into an area with a ruin, which anyone can be there. Yui was kidnapped by the Entity and was shocked when she saw the Oni first time, I mean its not normal to run into something you hear stories about and its normally nothing more than a legend. Lets just wait till we get more infos on that cause its annoying how very limited infos they give us when it come to lore.

Also Can felix leave the campfire? Nope Can he bend The Fog's rules like vigo & observer? No, he isn't special, he's just another survivor
You are ignoring the words of the creators. Like I mentioned earlier we are limited with the information we have and this is something they said in behind the scenes, which have not been mentioned for any other characters, check the videos if you want. Only thing we can do is wait till we get more information added to the rift about Felix and Talbot.

How tf are they so close to the entity? Does felix leave the campfire or can he? Nope he's just like any other survivor And blight's mind is just gone
shrug the devs are the ones who mentioned this in behind the scenes. Unlike them we are limited to the information we have.
Talbot is not 100% gone because its hinted he is still within the Blight, he is just deeply buried. Before the Entity took Talbot it spoke to him, and he also came face to face with the Entity. Talbot also affected the realm with his action, and he may also have discovered what the Entity is because he studied closely. Another thing the dev confirmed is that Talbot do have part of the Entity personal power with him.
Felix's father fought the Entity before with his group, Felix is part of that group and he has information none else have. The dev mentioned that Felix do effect the realm like Talbot.
We have to wait till they release the rest of the stories for these guys in the rift to know more about it cause these are the only information we have access to for now.

Forbidden Knowledge would have to be like a mettle of man perk where its effect is super good but its so hard to activate it just is a meme.
Fend off could be lose scratches for 1/2/3 seconds and you have say 3 tokens makes escaping chases actually escaping the chase but you only have 3 chances
A free flashlight just isnt a good idea
Well, it is just some ideas, I'm sure someone has better ones. We would be lucky if they decided to add Talbot as playable character or continue his story after he became Blight. At least we know they will tell us his story from before his transformation, when he was traveling the realm.

Ima be real all of those sound op as #########. 16 hooks to win instead of 12. Instablinds back. moving almost as fast as a slinger not even counting other boosts. Hope fend off would make it impossible for an m1 killer to down you without bloodlust.
Lol! That why I'm not on the dev team.
You still need to aim with the potion like how you do with flash light so if you missed you lose that chance and have to wait for the CD. Maybe change Alchemist to stay at 60sec CD and just increase the duration from 1.5/2/3sec. Trying to keep it less powerful than a flash light.
For Fend Off that why I added token lose on hit but think changing it to gain speed temporary for X sec instead of making it permanent will be more fair.
Forbidden Knowledge can be active after saving X number of survivors or taking X number of protection hit and the timer is already less than the original struggle phase.
-
@Thunderous_670 said:
Bro that sounds like such a cool idea, I'd be down for that, finally we'd have a hooded survivor, besides I can easily think of a sort blight perk where he gets blight sticks to use on himself with a token system after being in a terror radius or performing a altruisitc action, or maybe finding it in chests or unique areas.
Can think of some that go with his lore and personality.
Forbidden Knowledge: On your last hook instead of being sacrificed you will be put into the struggle phase. The timer will be half the time of the original struggle phase.
Alchemist: You throw a potion at the killer stunning them. The stun time is less than the flash light stun, if flash light stun is 5 sec the potion is 3 sec. Have a CD of 60/50/40sec after each use.
Fend Off: Each time you evade a killer after a chase you gain a token. Each token give 1%/2%/3% increase to speed, up to 3 tokens. You lose a token each time the killer hit you.

Yeah Talbot's lore honestly could go so much deeper and especially in his time before becoming the blight
We are getting that, the devs said in behind the scenes they are going to show what he was doing before he transformed and will use him to explore the areas in the realm he visited. They will also use him to show us what the Entity could be because he studied it.
-
Lorewise without going into the multiverse, they can easily use the same character as a survivor thanks to the way they built Talbot as a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde kind of character as they mentioned, and also because he was originally taken by the Entity as a survivor.
He transformed while in the realm because the Entity exploited his addiction to the serum. They can let someone save him like Vigo for example cause he is the one who created the serum and have knowledge about it, Talbot also holds Vigo in high regard, so these 2 will make a nice team, or they can make Talbot save himself by separating himself from Blight, and we end having both Dr. Jekyll (Talbot) and Mr. Hyde (Blight) the serum can be used as the reason cause we don't know what other effects it has. They can also use the idea of the serum losing its effect from time to time, and he switch between survivor and killer without remembering what he did as a killer but make him try to cure himself because even if he doesn't remember he is still aware of his transformation.
They really can do many things with this guy and hope him becoming a killer is not the end of his story.
-
@FrostySeal said:
I'm not entirely sure but I think Blight is the strongest killer physically, so whenever he used the serum its only natural that he'd be able to overpower the killers.
Correct, physically Blight is the strongest and the serum is what made him able to capture the killers and be able to enter their areas. This was confirmed in one of the Halloween notes when he mentioned the rat he injected the serum into bites him and later a killer (Trapper) attack him, and he was able to over power and chain the killer after thanks to the serum.

@Lexilogo said:
Well, we can't know precisely, but:
- We know he extracts compounds from other plants as confirmed by some of his addons, much like how Claudette gathers plants for medicine
- He uses elements extracted from Killers, such as the plague's bile, as confirmed by his addons
- He uses "soul chemical" (DMT) extracted from human pineal glands (The Doctor was also interested in it. it's a real and very powerful hallucinogen, though IRL you'd have to be really silly to do brain surgery to try and get a dose, it's naturally occurring in plants)
- There are also mentioned "chemical treatments" in some of his addons, so The Fog is most likely providing him with other generic lab chemicals to treat and preserve his serums.
Though, in the present, Blight is probably too busy tripping out of his mind to get any serious chemistry experimentation done. Compound #33 is defined as his "penultimate serum", so #34 is probably the last serious one he finished and tried on himself before entering his current state.
He may have used the same materials he used for the serum that was mixed for the killers. They were written on the injection, copper was one of the materials.
Compound Thirty-Four is definitely the last he created because it is mentioned as such and it is what mutated him and turned him into a feral beast. Would be interesting if he was still experimenting to find a way to escape the realm but doubt he is sane enough for any of that now and Entity destroyed his memories as well.
-
Just because the color is yellow it doesn't mean there is pustula in it and if it was made from pustula it would be in the description but it's not.
Lorewise the serum is meant to be created in a certain way. Only Vigo know the correct way and Blight learned that from Vigo journal. He is the only one who have the journal with the instruction.

People aren't stupid or "wrong" for liking Nurse's new lore. With that said, I agree with what appears to be the majority/popular opinion on this one. I don't think Nurse's Tome content improved her at all.
It's reflective of a general problem with other Killer tome lore where they often feel the need to make the Killers more evil, even when it doesn't fit. Despite some of the best-liked Tome content, like Hillbilly's or Wraith's, being their most humanising. This is especially apparent in Legion's Tome where Susie's character took a complete 180, but Spirit suffered from it too. (Spirit's was not so much the premise as it was the execution being bad, though. Wraith's tome also dealt with the idea of a latent bloodlust and it did it fine)
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1979589#Comment_1979589
It traces back to literally one word: "Purification". "Thoughts of purification emerged in her mind." I always read that of being a bizarre thought that would only make sense to The Nurse personally in her maddened state, not something that could be boiled down to a communicable idea like eugenics.
And, as many people have pointed out, Nurse's mori contradicts the idea of her being a eugenicist. It explicitly demonstrated that Nurse thinks what she is doing are mercy killings.
Besides, as anyone who's played Mass Effect 3 could tell you, if all the fan theories came up with a better story than the one you chose to tell, maybe the story's the problem.
Plus, it definitely retreads Doctor's territory too much. Eugenics isn't exactly what his story deals with, but I don't think the topics are sufficiently divorced to justify them both being seperate stories.
You cannot write fan theories or fanfictions without the original story. That's what the fan part of those words mean. There was close to nothing about most of these characters' personalities, nor were any details about the events provided originally. We barely had information and the only way of getting any clue about what was probably going on was through bios, add-ons, perks off of which fan theories were built unless the devs spoke about it.
Thought the same about the Mori before they added more stories about her, but the tome/rift item (plus the add-ons) gives the idea that she may have kept that "special treatment" for people who were "special" to her. We have confirmation that she has at least done that to the boy with the wooden toy who was close to her.
Another thing about the Mori is that it could be intended to tell us that she completely snapped, which fits more with her original story because asylum's are not all sunshine and smiles.
I also want to add that the Nurse's story is interesting: it seems to touch on spirituality and negative energies/environment affecting people and taking a toll on her.
The Nurse, desperate for food and survival, she took up a job in an asylum that took her in despite her lack of qualification. If I remember correctly, even if this asylum was based during an era where churches took in cases of insanity it still required a certain type of qualification, none of which the Nurse fit. What I mean to say here is that this asylum itself is quite questionable.
It seems that this asylum also plays a role in taking its caretakers down a certain road. The Broken Woman probably was on the same road as the Nurse, and the Nurse went further down the same road. Of course, add the energies/environmental effect on the people working there and it would propel their mental health down the gutter leading to the exact conclusion both these women reached.
Neither of them were insane, rather it was something they chose to do after reaching their boiling point in the asylum. The child whose hair the Nurse braided was, from what I see, an unfortunate case living inside an asylum: however, there were many other cases around her who were clinically insane.
There is an interesting contrast between the Broken Woman, who is the end result of negative energy, and the child who represents the beginning of a journey towards an arduous and scary journey. A scared child surrounded by insanity until they reach the end of their humanity.
The Broken Woman is also a symbol for the end of all humanity. I believe in the Bible it says that to kill one human being is the death of all humanity. The child is the face of humanity, what the Nurse probably felt when she started this job: "I don't want to be here, I shouldn't be here, I have no choice though."
It is also possible that the asylum played a role in the worship of the Entity. It is also possible that the patients there were folks who were supposed to be touched or taken by the entity. As I said, the asylum is questionable and it would not be a surprise if it was a place of experiment and Entity worship.
If I remember correctly, the Blight was there before his transformation. The man being in a church/asylum represents a place worship, a place where he probably sought safety or a momentary reprieve (I doubt he sought God in realm of the Entity but hey, who knows). This asylum was corrupted and twisted, providing no hope or light for one seeking safety. The transformation, in the asylum where the Nurse snapped, shows a good symbol of descent into insanity, in his case it touched on schizophrenia.
However, touching on Blight would require me to touch on a lot of his lore and I'd like to keep this about the Nurse.

sigh Look, I know you probably lack the reading comprehension to get what the difference is, so I won't bother explaining. But y'know, when about as many people in the community say the tome entry felt wrong for the nurse as there were people saying the new UI sucks... are you going to defend the new (not new new) ui design as brilliant and fitting?
Just check her original lore. What have been used for the tome is from there.
Some are just upset because they wanted their theories to be canon but were proven wrong and they also ignored what already have been written in her original lore.

It isn't good.
Sure, you may like it, but the issue is, as many have rightfully pointed out, it doesn't fit with what had been there with the nurse before.
Sally was the emotional counterpart to the later added Doctor. Her Mori has an air of a mercy killing etc. Making her this cold, calculating person that sees everyone below her and will kill to free herself of those beneath her, putting herselg above god or something...
Sorry, but that's Herman Carter, not Sally Smithson.
Sally's entire tome entry reads as if it was carelessly thrown together from old drafts for the Doctor's entry (btw: his entry is not detached at all) possibly because someone at BHVR figured having three killers get sympathetic backstories in a row would... drive away paying customers? (develop logic in gaming is all over the place, and cross your heart, would you be surprised)
But making Sally sympathetic, despairing over the cruelty she's witnessing and going on a killing spree out of misguided care and mercy (not counting smithing (hah) those that commited cruelty) would have been good.
Killer that are just bastards like doctor, clown or ghostface, they don't need lore entries to make them sympathetic. They are made to be hated. But Sally? Just like Billy and Phillip, her story is one where the feeling of the entity already messing things up to 'unleash' potential should be there.
The Devs stayed true to the Nurse lore, they didn't change anything about it. In her original lore she joined the asylum because she had to, not because she wanted to help people. The idea of purification have been mentioned there as well.

They are meant for advertise only and they have done this many times with the short teaser for their trailers as well.

Canonically there will be non because the Entity wipe their memories clean after the trials, doesn't matter if they escape or not.
