A lot of other games do this. Many FPS games have the camera in the chest rather than the head. Only POV that makes no sense is Blight, why is it so stupidly low?
Blight have a bug that made half his 1st person model to be buried in the ground, which caused the low POV and the only way to fix it is to rebuild his model and redo all the animations, which the devs said it will take some time.
Fun fact: Blight model when standing to his full height is taller than Trapper and Myer.

How did they affect the realm? talbot probably and felix is just another survivor from the entity's POV
Talbot affected the realm by impacting the trials thanks to his experiments on the killers when he was trying to find a way out. It is hinted that he may have helped survivors by giving them the serum addon they used during Halloween. Talbot was able to keep himself outside the trials later and visited the void and many different areas that other characters can't go to. Talbot also used the Entity personal power (he still have it) which have been confirmed and he studied the Entity and what it could be. The devs want to use Talbot to tells us more about these realms and the Entity.
Felix like Talbot was mentioned by the devs to be very close to the Entity too but unlike Talbot they didn't give us more lore information other than his father did fight the Entity before. They may wanted to create a 'hype' till they add more lore for Felix so they decided to mention that about him early.

Did you really forget about trapper plague elodie and the twins?
Trapper was tortured like some of the other killers. Entity tricked the Plague like it did with many others.
Twins were wanted because of the way they looked and the cult just wanted to sacrifice them cause of that. The only time Elodie run into them was the time she almost got killed and was taken after by the Entity after the Entity tricked her into drawing the same thing she draw the first time. There are no deep connection like how Talbot was with the cult and learned many of their secrets.
None of them have a direct connection or effected the realm and the Entity and the devs were very specific in mentioning this information for Talbot and Felix.
-
We shouldn't look at things as black and white. Survivors are not that innocent. For example we are told survivors did kill another survivor in the realm because he kept screaming and they wanted him to shut up so the killers wont find them. They will do everything they can to survive.
What Vigo did is because he wanted to survive and to find a way out of the realm. It is stays and be food for the Entity and then get discarded in the void like trash after it is done with you or attempt to escape.
-
They already created the main characters for DBD. Felix and Talbot are the main characters. They give them the special treatment and linked them to the Entity and everything in the realm. Felix theme is also about hope and never giving up.
They also mentioned in behind the scenes that these 2 do have an effect on the realm. Something they never mentioned with any other characters.
-
One of the devs said when they put the camera in the killers head the player couldn't see the survivors very well because the camera was so high so they moved the camera from the head to the chest to let the player see better.

But what if vigo came in the realm willingly like talbot, how could you trust someone who enters a world of terror just by their free will
Vigo notes show us he did not come to the realm willingly. Same for Talbot, he was tricked to get into the realm like Felix when the Entity used their desire against them and then woke up with no memory of what happen. Talbot desire to learn/explore and Felix desire to find his father.

simple answer: The Twins were sold off to the cult that worships the Entity while Talbot was part of a monk organization of a ancient mystery school that has knowledge of the Entity
while different chapters, the survivor and killer are from separate universes to each chapter (especially the licensed ones) the past 2 chapters seems to exist in the same universe,
said universe being a world were secret societies are aware of the Entity's existence, these societies would discover how to summon the Entity or do research on how it works, with a few organizations would worship the Entity as a god and make sacrifices.
The monks are the same Entity cult that wear the black clocks.

I'm gonna go ahead and say that the serum maybe has nothing to do with his power. According to the lore Talbot gives his service to the entity just for more serum, so the serum he is injecting may be the Entity's end of the deal whenever he hurts a survivors with the power Entity gave him. Additionally this probably keeps his form from decaying which is something the Entity wants.
His power description says the serum is what gives him his power. Him needing to inject it in himself to recover energy makes sense and also because this is something he did as a survivor when the serum lost its effect/power on him when he was using it to help him capture the killers before the Entity drove him mad and he became a feral beast depending on the serum. The Entity is dangling that serum needle in front of him to make him hunt Survivors.
-
It's Trapper, his mask may have looked like it has a 'mechanical mouth' to Talbot. Talbot mentioned the killer that attacked him previously showed up again and he had a fight with him. He then chained that killer and we see the Trapper in the cut scene after.

Blight is mid thirties.
(1838 graduate) (17-18 year old but going with 17) 17 + 7 years with the company + joined the 1st opium war (1839 - 1842) =24 (1846) + 10 into the start of the 2nd war(1856)= 34 + 4 if he stayed till the 2nd war ended (1860) = 38 year old
but since he was kidnapped while the war was still active he may have been 34 + 1 year that he may stayed with the monks till he healed = 35 year old
-
@Hoodied said:
He seems to release alot of Blight Serum when sprinting, most likely he needs to inject himself to keep him from passing out due to his version of blood loss
Interesting, but doubt what's in the needle will be enough to cover for a 'blood loss' after he done sprinting if that is the case, which I think it is not because his body is always releasing the serum and he don't seem to have a problem with. Most likely it is to boost his abilities temporarily when in trials as the OP mentioned.
-
All the points you mentioned are acurrate.
It is likely to keep Talbot from 'waking up'. Talbot is not completely gone and is just buried within the Blight, so this could a way to keep Talbot from gaining back his mind and remembering who he was because right now he has absolutely no consciousness of his past self.
The Entity may also have a ptsd thanks to what Talbot did in the realm and don't want to deal with that again, so it made Blight take a shot every time just to be safe lol

That's the most logical justification I've seen thus far, since BHVR intends to continue to use Talbot as a storytelling piece, it'll be interesting to see how everything unfolds in the coming years.
I'm guessing we may get these stories on Halloween since it become his theme. I think the stories we will get are from before he mutated into Blight because he had his mind and memories back then.
I want to know if the serum he created can lose its effect on him slowly. The more he uses it, the more his body builds up a tolerance, like how drugs effect work and if he can gain his mind back slowly this way, but without his body changing back to normal since these body changes seems irreversible.

"I'm pretty sure true blight is from repeated usage of the serum not his first use of it otherwise he would look like true blight in the trailer but he has his default skin instead."
You wouldn't be saying this if you saw the Doors Unknown cinematic. It's clear as day how Talbot became True Blight. The point of my comment towards you wasn't about the effects reverting, it was about your total lack of understanding on how Talbot's first true exposure to "lethal" amounts of serum affected him, causing him to change into the True Blight we see. And since that was his first transformation, and the cinematic trailer for Descend Beyond shows him in his human form, the only logical conclusion to make is that the effects wear off after a time.
Unless you think the cinematic wasn't canon which makes zero sense since every other chapter cinematic is official in context to the story of the update and the characters included.
The event in the tome is mental so he may or may not mutate by the end of it.
If he mutate first time by the end of the tome:
The 1st mutation was because of the Entity forcing the nectar into his body and since that was the nectar in its pure form without it being modified the effect wore off for the first time after the yearly blight ended.
The 2nd mutation we see is from the intro cut scene is the permanent mutation since Talbot modified it like he did with the rest of the serums and the item descriptions (Compound Thirty-Four and skins) point towards that because it mentions it being the last serum he created before he become a feral beast.
He is normal Blight any other time of the year and on Halloween he turns into True Blight because the serum in his veins would be supercharged during that time and the canker blossom within him, turning him into a True Blight temporary just like how the Entity has to deal with the mutation/blight temporary during the yearly blight.
-
They didn't specifically hunt for Charlotte and Victor, the twins were one of the many targets for the hunters. They sold them later for the Entity cult and it must be something they have done many times cause of profit.
The cult stuff has been around for a while, but they didn't go in depth with it till they added Felix and Talbot. The monks from the school that used Talbot and got rid of him later could be part of the Entity cult because of the forbidden and lost texts they own and how they were working on wanting to expand their mind in the search for other dimensions.
It's hinted these cults are the reason the Entity are able to reach and take people into its realm. Without them the Entity may not be able to do so. Fitting since the Entity is more of a parasite.

Probably don't want Elodie's first interaction with Felix in a while leading into him getting munched on. David is a punching bag.
Thanks to her Felix and Co were about to be taken by the Entity first time cause she finished one of the drawings on the walls. I think Felix wants nothing to do with her cause of that and let's not forget how she didn't help King and is the reason the killer know their location cause she was searching the chest and making lots of noises lol

Talbot experimented on many killers so we will still get blight skins for all of them new and old. You can think of it as them getting infected because Talbot did that before he mutated, which I think is what they are going with for the story.
Storywise, they just finished telling us how Talbot mutated into The Blight. The devs are not done with him, they created him to be a support character. In behind the scenes they mentioned Talbot being very close to the Entity and he is one of the only characters that was out of trials in limbo (after he learned about the serum from Vigo's journal) and could visit the void and other zones of the Entity that other characters can't go. They want to explore stories in these areas with him.
I'm crossing my fingers they separate the man from the beast as part of Talbot lore (thanks to the way they built him) and add him as a survivor ingame lol

The entity canonically messes with the minds of killers and survivors.
While the 'all memories of trials are removed from survivors' has pretty much been retconned by now, we have a number of killers the entity tricks into killing. 'plaything' might be the wrong word
How was that retconned?

A couple of ideas.
It appears you can die repeatedly in the entity's realm, so possibly a warning that you WILL die and that doesn't end your torment.
It could also represent that if you keep dying and eventually lose all hope you become a new killer for the entity. Kind of like how hollowing works in dark souls.
You don't become a killer when you lose all hope/emotion. The Entity get rid of you and throw you in the garbage bin AKA the void.

It would be weird for this to be non-canon or another Talbolt, given that has never happened before and all of the archives have been about his journey, so it wouldn’t make much sense.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1696612#Comment_1696612
The inconsistency is that we saw the events in which Talbolt transforms into the normal Blight, and they must have happened before, so it wouldn’t make sense to have him just revert to normal Blight when he has to become the normal Blight yet. He could regress back into a human, but I don’t think that I like Talbolt being in the void, becoming a Killer as True Blight, going back to a human and to the Void and then becoming a Killer again. Just feel redundant.
As mentioned above, I think this is a mental illusion that shows him subjugating to the power of the Flower and the Entity, maybe he eventually becomes True Blight physically later, as it said in the description, due to an overdose of serum, but this is him succumbing to the need of the flower to become a killer.
And the Blight can still think and act, even if he is mostly a drug-addict in a never ending high moment, because we know that he is experimenting with survivors, that he uses the cane to fool people and even in the True Blight descriptions, he question if he is under control of the Pustula now.
I'm with you about the mental thing. Was explaining the physical changes because the Entity changes too during it is yearly blight and it make sense because the flower he is using is from the Entity.
I see Talbot and Blight as different characters (other skins description point to Talbot real self being deeply buried in the Blight, which may explain what is happening in this tome). Talbot despite his faults, still had his humanity and still wanted to do good despite his obsession. Blight on the other hand show nothing of that, he is more of a crazed beast instead of a man and the way he behaves show that perfectly.

@chieften333 said:
My guess is that the true blight is another talbot grimes. The lore states that there is a multiverse, and who's to say the entity isn't playing favorites with talbot and making multiple blights?
Blight form change to True Blight because the Cankers blossom within him, the Cankers turn into Pustulas during the Entity yearly blight but it dies after the event is over. The serum in Blight veins reacts during the event and turn him into True Blight, but he goes back to being normal Blight after event end like how it is with Pustulas. The Entity deal with the same thing each year.
-
The Archive cut scene is a mental thing and it shows what's going on as the serum is taking over his mind slowly but surely, turning him into a feral monster. Talbot lives through the pain he has brought, he suffers from his guilt, and the ruin brought by his ambition.
The pit of corpses is Talbot trying to escape the Entity, the flower that made him fall is an allusion to the addiction he developed which make him fall.
It represents how Talbot is trying to gain control over his mind and how he is trying to escape the monster that is the Blight, but he is deeply buried and need help if he have a chance to be pulled out from the Blight.

It's fine if you don' mind the existence of these cults in the lore, but it's pretty hard to argue either of them were well-written. With both of the new characters, the addition of the Entity studies is clunky and heavy-handed. Blight had a standard story that could have reasonably ended when he was left for dead in the ditch, but for some reason he had to be mysteriously saved, only to be mysteriously betrayed, and finally to mysteriously disappear. Why any of this necessary when Blight had already been blithely responsible for mass murder and been extensively involved in the botanical experiments that tie into his powers is the real mystery.
And I already explained how the actions of Felix's father's group are absurd even if you actually accept that Entity-aware secret societies exist.
Talbot wouldn't work as a killer because he didn't want to kill like most of the killers. He wanted to help humanity, but end up with the unintentional deaths of many. He only experimented on enemies (war is not black and white) and felt guilt over the deaths he caused unintentionally and had nightmares over it.
He even didn't hurt survivors in the realm (he only targeted killers) he did that after he was driven crazy by the Entity and become Blight.

This too.
Like, would a lot of us mind if the devs would go and just bin about half of talbot's story, and instead have a dark fog seep from the dead woman's eyes, engulfing him?
Or if Felix just went on a typical white upper-class douche begbacker trip and got lost in some ruins?
EDIT: you know what I reckoned would have worked as well?
Scrap felix as a whole, and give us Talbot as both Killer and survivor. I mean, Talbot is the alchemist from back when, and space is warped and time in bendable in the Entity's realm, so, it could as well have worked the survivor!talbot would 'yet' have to become The Blight, or that the Entity didn't know what to make of him, so it could both timelines in.
They can give us Talbot as a survivor by separating the man from the beast. Either let Talbot free himself from Blight or let Vigo step in and help him, Talbot have information Vigo could be interested in. Blight will still be around to torment Talbot because it amuses the Entity.

not the existence, but as i've seen a couple of times now, apparently the devs said that such organization exists in each reality the entity takes people from, as in these cults are what gives it access to these realities. IF i understood things correctly. if that is the case, that's what I am unhappy with. the idea that the entity needs a bunch of morons before it can interact with a timeline.
The Entity feels more like a parasite than a god with the way it behaves and it needing people make sense.
The monks from the ancient mystery school pretending to be a monastery could be one of those Entity cults. Their work was meant to be hidden since they were working on are forbidden and lost texts that are not available to just anyone. Talbot wanting to share what he learned was a threat to them. They used Talbot and got rid him after taking what they needed.

A scientist who researched The Entity heavily and even managed to make things from the Fog, case and point The Hatch existing. He got lost in the Void, but found a way out using the Putrid Serum; I assume he then tried to make more of the stuff next Blight but couldn't for some reason. Talbot found his journal and all his work in his lab (hence why he's got things like Plague Bile or crushed up bits of the Rose Bouchets in his add-ons, and literally has Vigo's Journal for one) and tried to replicate the Putrid Serum too to escape, creating thirty-two different compounds. Compound 32 (one of his add-ons) was his 2nd to last hope. It failed. Compound 33 was his final chance, and it failed him (which, same), turning him into the monster that is the Blight. His current location is unknown, but he's probably not dead and instead found a way to manipulate the Entity's Auric Cells into making a sub-realm to himself.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/197240/how-powerful-are-vigo-and-the-entity
Vigo's just a smart person who found a way to manipulate the Entity's Auric Cells, which is what it uses to create everything. The Entity is, as far as we know, a limitless being who can reach across multiple dimensions and affect the minds of everyone it touches, provided it has food. That food comes in the form of emotions- like Danganronpa, Hope and Despair being the two main ones- and the stronger the hope/despair the stronger it becomes.
Now I can't stop thinking about it since I referenced Danganronpa so have a gif of Junko Enoshima.
https://thumbs.gfycat.com/TenderBoringDeinonychus-max-1mb.gif
Talbot could have got the Plague Bile when he captured killers because he experimented on them. The crushed up bits of Rose could be something he originally had because he was a survivor and survivors had the New Moon Bouquet as an offering.
He couldn't create the same serum from Vigo's journal because it had some of these pages torn out. That's why he kept creating many different types of it. He created thirty four different compounds. Compound thirty four is what mutated him because he took a high dose of it.
We are getting compound thirty four with this Halloween event.
I think that Vigo is the Observer. In one of the animation the Observer learns that one of his books is missing and Talbot has Vigo’s Journal.

Talbot is past his survivor days. He was a survivor for a while but left to experiment with ways to get out and then, yknow, got voided and then become a serum junkie. Time is weird in the Entity's realm but I doubt that the Entity would be crazy enough to exploit timelines enough to have Talbot go against his future corrupted self.
I don't mean having him as a survivor because the Entity decided to exploit timelines somehow, I doubt it can be done.
The devs said the idea for him is Jekyll and Hyde. Talbot (Jekyll) is still in there trying to break free from Blight (Hyde). They can either make him get help or make him free himself (going back to survivor) because they established that the Entity can be fought.
Entity having a morbid sense of humor will create an identical version of Talbot when he was Blight to torment him about it or Blight will be there for gameplay, like many things we have as gameplay, but I prefer the lore reason.

What if his too interested to leave the realm?
*for some reason my comment disappeared each time I post it*
He got addicted to the serum by accident. The reason for all his experiments is to get out of the realm. He was able to keep himself out of trials after the experiments and was able to go through different areas in the Entity's realm where no survivor or killer can go. He still has this ability for sure.
Devs mentioned in their latest video that the idea for Talbot is Jekyll and Hyde. This could mean Talbot (Jekyll) is still in there fighting to break free from Blight (Hyde) and he is not completely driven crazy by the Entity. It would be interesting if Talbot was able to free himself because they established with Felix's father, Janos, that the Entity can be fought.
Talbot is one of the few characters that impacted the story and it will be a waste if they decide "yeah he is a killer now, that's about it".

what I meant with 'want of a nail' (check the meaning here: ) With the 'main' lore it wouldn't make much sense, yes, but i'm talking about alternate timelines, where things went just a little different. What if Anna's mother had survived the encounter? What if Caleb had never started working for bayshore or never agreed to the warden's deal? What is Sally had found a different job after her husband's death? etc.
it's small things that could have led the current killer roster down a path in which the Entity might have snatched them as survivors.
And, hell, the entity has a rotten enough sense of humor for all we know to bring those versions (as well as killer versions of the survivors) into the mix for s---s and giggles.
Agree, the Entity have a rotten sense of humor, which make you want to punch it in the face if it had one. Don't know if the devs will go with alternate timelines but lets wait and see if this will be added to the lore or not.

No. The entire point of Talbot is how his ambition drove him mad enough to become a Killer.
I do want a Survivor from the 1800s like him, but not Talbot himself.
He becomes what he is because the Entity took advantage of what happen with the serum accident. If he didn't get addicted to the serum he will still be trying to find a way to get out of the realm.
They can create a friend who is trying to find Talbot after he went missing but adding Talbot will give us a chance in getting a killer version of survivors and it make more sense adding him because they already established him as a survivor.

Personally I'd lvoe to have survivor versions of all original killers ingame, just to see where in their lore the 'want of a nail' point is. bonus points if there'd be special mechanics when they face their counterparts
The reason adding Talbot as a survivor work better because he was originally a survivor, not a killer. I don't think we will get a survivor version of the killers because lorewise it won't make sense, but creating a killer version of a survivor work because this is something they established with Talbot.

The Blight's lore and existence as one of the Killers are proof he won't be able to really continue towards his goal.
Killers are all bound to serve the Entity. Some, like Pyramid Head, are in a strange sort of alliance with it, while others, like Trapper, have been so warped and tortured into servitude that almost nothing of them remains (it's an outdated idea now, but the original lore of the Killers characterized them as inhuman beasts rather than people).
Talbot is no exception. The climax of The Hunger story in his lore was how he failed to overcome his addiction and the powerful pull of the Entity. He could have been another Vigo, but he failed and was twisted into the Blight.
It's possible that some part of his reasoning mind is still inside the monstrous creature he turned himself into and it's possible he still performs experiments. But it's irrelevant now.
He belongs to the Entity; the goal of his research (to be able to use the Serum to traverse the Entity's Realm freely and unhindered like Vigo can/could) can no longer be achieved.
It's possible some other lore character might learn from his mistakes, but for Talbot Grimes it's over.
They can make him another Vigo even after his transformation. His main goal from making the serum is to get out of the realm. During the Hallowed Blight the Entity become weak and he have this knowledge about it. He already know how to make the serum from the flowers and can keep experimenting to get out with each Hallowed Blight, I mean he was able to get out of the void already. He should be more in control during this event instead of the Entity because of this. They really can do many interesting things with him and hope this is not the end of his lore.
-
After his transformation he will harm both sides equally. You can thanks the Entity for that.
It will be kinda funny if Talbot is still trying to get out of the Entity realm with each Hallowed Blight. Giving the Entity a royal headache about it.

Maybe on Survivors, or those add-ons are from before his transformation. The Hunger tells us "He'd rip survivors and killers apart limb from limb for that feeling again." This was before he transformed. During his time as a "Survivor," I don't get the feeling he was entirely... friendly. Given his state of mind when he entered the realm (carving Death is only the beginning into the stone until his fingers bled and then into his chest), I don't think he was interested in really helping the others, and we also know Survivors can kill each other, through Arcus 893, which says "The other Survivors drowned him in mud to shut him up." Death is heavily implied.
And the thing about Killers meeting each other in the realms directly conflicts with other statements made that they are in their own realms until pulled for trials, with the Legion being the only ones who are able to meet each other.
Talbot wants the serum for himself, and only himself, now as well, only occasionally using it to murder Survivors. Even if he is sane enough to experiment on other Killers, and even if he CAN reach those other Killers, his addiction could be too powerful for him to overcome now.
That the part after he got addicted from the rat accident and the flowers died and he couldn't find anymore. The Entity took advantage of that and turned him into what he is now. Dude is driven crazy by the Entity.
He experiment on a dead rat with the serum. The rat come back to life for a short time and bite him, which made him addicted to the serum and made him very powerful. He only experimented on the killers when he was a survivor.
Talbot wanted to help people with his potions. He didn't know his potions caused deaths, when he learned about it he felt guilty and wanted to redeem himself.
(carving Death is only the beginning into the stone until his fingers bled and then into his chest)
His research were taken from him by the 'School' that saved him and he was trying to get it back. He wrote that later because the Entity started whispering to him and he wrote what he thought was his research on the walls of the room with a stone. After that the Entity took him and forced him to join the trials like the other survivors.
-
Blight is unwilling. He isn't a killer born out of evil, but driven crazy by the Entity. If he was killing people like most of killers did, the Entity would have taken him as killer not as a survivor. The dude didn't know his potions caused deaths, when he learned about it he felt guilty and wanted to redeem himself.
