  • Xenomorph Skin for Demo

Edit: Make it Pred-Alien skin, since the roar would look weird in a Xenomorph skin.

  • Best chase music: Toss up between Pyramid Head and Demo.

    Best design: Pyramid Head

Best Killer in terms of win rate / strength: Freddy followed closely by Pyramid Head

Best Killer in terms of fun: Demo

Best Licensed Killer based on popularity of the Franchise: Toss up between Michael, Pyramid, and Bubba

    Best underdog Killer: Pig

    Best Killer to hate: Bubba

    Best Killer to meme: Ghostface

  • I have run into a lot more lately than I have over the years. Granted a lot of people hack anyways, but they typically do it discreetly. Running into overt hackers just bewilders me and the frequency of it is even more baffling.

  • Rank 1. So the variety of players ranged from potato's to SWF death squads, typically the latter more often than not.

  • @casper11 said:

It's not quite right, I think it struggles with infrequent players.

My survivor games - the role I play more often - have all been wipes, but wipes that felt like a couple better decisions somewhere could have reversed it. Though I have noticed more tunnelling and camping, which has made them less fun, even compared to 4k wipes before. I also played 2 matches right at the start against clearly deranking killers, which I think might have artificially boosted my own hidden rating.

My killer games have been genuinely demotivating. I don't play much killer - I kind of go 20 -> 18 -> 20 across every reset period. I'd say realistically I'm about 14-15 on skill, and would feel it fair to play players in that ballpark - but based on messaging post-match I keep getting rank 3-8 survivors. I've totalled 4 hooks and 1 kill (a Leon who took pity on me in endgame and died to the entity) across 7 matches since SBMM.

I'm not against SBMM, but I think if nothing else it needs a mechanic to swing too-easy/too-hard each match as it narrows down, because realistically the result of being completely outmatched so many games in a row is just that I quit until the test ends. I don't know if anyone else has had a similar experience? I think most people who play as infrequently/poorly as me at killer probably aren't on the forums so I guess we're unlikely to hear their experience lol

Typically in the forums, it seems people main one side over the other. You got some players that just don't play the opposite side at all. I main Killer hard, so when it comes to complaints on the forums of tunneling and face camping bubbas, it's so rare for me to see and understand because it doesn't happen to me. Even when I do player Survivor sometimes who maintains Rank 1 or has to crawl back up from the low ranks due to low activity as a solo Survivor. (before MMR).

There's already a DC penalty to prevent people from doing it a lot. And that penalty is already shared with everyone in the DCers party.

Make DC penalties in general harsher and the "collateral damage" that's 100% unavoidable with any remotely functional DC penalty system gets worse. It's for a reason that the first levels of DC penalties are fairly short, to not hit someone that has a genuinely accidental DC out of their control with a session-ending 30+ minute timeout right away.

Stuff like preventing the hatch from opening for X seconds or even forever if someone DCs just gives survivors a tool they can use to screw over other survivors. Oh, that person actually used their brain and decided to just chill on hatch instead of trying to save against a killer making sure any unhook would be a trade? That's """cowardly""" or """antimate/immersed behavior""" to some people, and they could DC to try to deny others the hatch in situations like that.

There's no easy nor perfect solution, because neither actually exist. The hatch/key idea of making the hatch only spawn when either all gens are done OR there's only 1 survivor left is probably the best approach, as it would indirectly make dc for hatch a lot less relevant as well.

I'd argue against it. Paraphrasing someone else in here who stated it, when someone DC's, just make the entity do the animation of killing them similar to EGC. That way there's at least a few seconds to remedy the situation so that someone doesn't win based on an unfair exploitation.

The hatch/key idea is not the best approach because it doesn't solve anything. That's simply the design of how it's intended to work. When you have people taking advantage of it by DCing so that there's only 1 Survivor left which immediately spawns/opens the hatch, it goes beyond the scope of what it was supposed to be used for.

just be happy that you dont play against 3k-9k hour players basically every game.

But I have, hundreds of matches have gone against Survivors who far outplay in every regard even before the MMR. I only have about 2k hours into this game in total and checking my recent players, I've gone against 6 individuals who had 6K+ hours, and 2 who had 3.5k+ hours. There's probably more but I'm not going to scour for them.

    Good players have tons of items , addons and offerings ;

Spending more doesn't do much to a large number.

    If those Good Players have tons of items, addons and offerings ;

Then they're not using them. Having the ability to spend your BP to gain more is the point. And unless there is someone out there where they have P3 50 character with all max perks on every character both Survivor and Killer with the max # of items, add ons, and offerings, you can always spend your BP. Choosing to hold onto the million until the next chapter comes out is pointless because you can easily make 200k back in a couple matches. It just sounds like bad management of BP.

  • @loopsahoy said:

The bloodpoint cap was added to " stop grinding unnecessarily large amounts of bp" . We see players all the time grinding to 1 million and not wanting to play because they can't earn any more and they don't have anything to spend it on.

New chapters may give some incentive , but when you p3 50 them you've really reached a point where bp cannot do anything for you.

The whole grind / spend / grind loop is caused by the bloodpoint cap.

There are 3 things all players would really want to have:

    . No bloodpoint cap.

. More things you can use bloodpoints for. ( most notably : trading in bp for shards : )

. Remove perks from thebloodweb , remove teirs; when you unlock a perk as a teachable have it teir 3 on every character.

Dbd is looking a lot better with the mori and key changes , mori changes , and perk changes we've been receiving. theres only a few outdated killer addons and power features that need buffs / nerfs , of the only few remaining problems, the ones that need the most changing is the grind , the bloodpoint cap , and more you can use bp for .

But there is a point to spend them..... All the add-ons and offerings that aid your character? Something that costs a trivial amount when you can easily get those points back.

It's impossible to have a chill game

You play survivor? Your team is bad and the killer tryhard

What about killer? Every game i do it's a sweatfest, no matter the killer i play, it's literally impossible to play and have fun.

I'm losing interest in playing and i don't think I'm the only one complaining at this mess.

What the devs don't understand is that the game is casual, there's no way to balance it properly

Waiting Monday to play again and hopefully this buggy mess system never comes live in this state or will kill the game

Casual? Idk what game you're playing. Nothing ever casual about playing DeadByDaylight. Being Rank 1 on both regards, (Always Soloing) is a nightmare and frustrating experience. I have to play in moderation before I get angry at the toxic sweatfest of SWF's.

  • Rancor / Furtive Chase / Nemesis (Oni perk, forgot what it's called) / Blood Warden

  • Also to further cement this:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T3hoIPqrAsg

    Timestamp 8:25.

This Streamer tells his buddies over comms to DC soon as he saw the hatch (wasn't successful, he went down and they refused/didn't in time). Now you might try to argue that he's joking, however I've gone against this Streamer before, and he said he'd DC soon as his buddy found the hatch. Killed them both but still, he's no stranger to it and actively does it. If you looked up Dc for hatch on Youtube, you'll find DOZENS of videos where this happens. It proves how common it is.

  • @Bwsted said:

How do you chase healthy survivors?

Please, don't tell me by tracking breathing through chase music, because that doesn't happen, unless it's like a Jeff or Jane right next to you.

    You get my point.

And there's an activation condition. They have to be injured and one hit to down, or the perk literally just occupies the slot.

Is there no input from the player? That could be said about dozens of perks. It's not really a requirement for good design. Dead Hard does require input and it's one of the most hated perks in the game.

IW is a good perk. It's not gamebreaking or unbalanced. If we nerf good perks, then we inevitably get more of the same meta.

Except IW is a meta perk. It's also not just tracking grunts and cries through chase either (it helps, but it's not the sole method). The whole point of those grunts and cries is to possibly alert the Killer that a Survivor is nearby if they have't healed for whatever reason. If you take that ability away, there is absolutely no way to counter it unless you ran a Killer who defies that (Plague, Nemesis, Oni, etc).

Edit: With that in mind, I'm not saying we should nerf it or change it. But every perk has a counter. IW should be no different.

  • A lot more than the previous years. Granted a lot of people hack anyways and we just don't know it. However, the more blatant ones like teleporting, hatchet wielding ghost face, etc. are a lot more common, even before MMR was activated.

If most of the games work great on my console why should I buy ssd? And I fail to see point in ssd being cheaper than hdd since I don't need to buy hdd either.

Because SSD's are... better? If you're one of those "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" kind of people. Kudos to you. However an SSD brings a better performance on everything. HDD's can only go so far.

  • Depends on the context. If it's just an average boring match, then no. If it's like, edge of your seat kinda gameplay where you're racing against skilled players or about to lose all 4 of them, then yes.

  • @Shaped said:

Everyone does. Some people who switched to ssd have better experience but there is no way I am going to buy one just for dbd. Na ah.

I'd recommend buying one anyways even if you didn't play DBD. SSD are awesome and relatively cheap compared to HDDs.

  • I don't like it either. But the perk is fine and was utilized properly. Actually it needs to be fixed because you still got players getting downed even when they DH. Regardless of me getting irritated with how it's used during chases, it's still acceptable.

  • @CornHub said:

I can't see them changing it so it doesn't effect people who aren't exploiting. Unless the DCer is on a smurf, then they have to wait out the DC penalty, their team has to wait out their DC penalty, they lose all their points on an already grindy game, AND they have to be even more cautious if they ever want to exploit again within the time frame. Personally, a 3k with a DC is more satisfying than a 4k.

You're absolutely right. However, it's still a common practice and seemingly accepted in the community. Even with everything you listed, various players are still doing it frequently. And it seems the majority of the people kinda accept it and let it happen. This shouldn't be condoned, it violates the integrity of the game and there should be some way to adjust it. Whether it's a my offered solution, @Trag1cBrons0n solution, or a better one given by BHVR.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2429281#Comment_2429281

Which is where my second comment comes in, considering the game is boarderline unplayable on a lot of machines ATM that ran it fine pre 5.0.0, and despite BHVR's efforts to fix it still remains a crashing, buggy mess. Accidental DCs are incredibly common right now because of this.

So, again, change that's healthy for the game in it's current state.

That fix could be healthy, or could not be healthy. We wouldn't know until it's implemented. Your comment still means nothing other than an attempt to derail my initial point. Which is that players SHOULDN'T BE ABUSING this mechanic.

  • @xenotimebong said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/273019/hatch-dc-exploitation

There is a punishment for it. The dc penalty is the punishment. The more they do it the higher the penalty goes, and if they’re a SWF, if one of them gets a penalty then they all have to deal with it.

I'm aware the time goes up higher. But, this is based on frequency of the DC rate. And at some point, the timer for DCing resets. Idk what the timer is for that, I rarely DC outside of internet issues. And the timer I've always comes to see is 3-5 minutes. It can still happen often enough for it to be a regular occurrence.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2429263#Comment_2429263

Yeah but name one fix that would be healthy for the game? Factoring in the current state of DBD on lower-end machines that should run the game fine but crash and DC frequently due to horrible optimisation, of course/

Idk where you're to go with this comment, but I'll answer the first question. A solution I can possibly see and offer is that if a player DC spawns/opens a hatch, that hatch gets blocked for 60 seconds by the entity.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

So they get a 5 minute penalty... then another... then 15 minutes... then 30 minutes...

It's not sustainable, at all, and they're robbing themselves of points because... what? You were going for the 4k and didn't get it, but still won the trial?

Woe be you, and the fact you couldn't get a 4k and this team is now matchmaking locked for at least 5 minutes.

It's not about the 4k. It's about abusing an in-game mechanic that can't be countered and shouldn't be abused. And it sounds like you're condoning.

  • @Killing_Time said:

Wraith is the current BALANCE of what a killer should be imo. He can be played at a high level without add-on, has decent mobility, and can end chases quickly. We need more killers to be balanced like that. He'll still get stomped by swf or even solos with the experience tho.

If he can get stomped, then he's not balanced.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/272317/animation-for-death-dead

No thanks, I dont want to lay on the ground for 4mins every game because Killer can earn the same BP as they hook. Animations is what they should add.

I didn't say to earn the same BP as they hook. I meant they still get the same amount of points if you bled out. Which is like 50-100.

  • Only hack that I know a lot of people get away with that can't be proved is when people get max items on everything. That's what I'd consider is subtle hacking.

The amount of 99% blinks,1 blink only bug, dead zones, and more bugs introduced with each new map, graphical update, and patch says otherwise.

Anyone who says Nurse is overpowered or “brain dead” hasn’t really played her or is just going with the trend.

Good job putting those people in their place though, I would say keep playing her.

They had me on Ormond and not only did I keep missing my blink attacks, my Nurse wouldn't phase through rocks half the time because I either wasn't putting enough charge into it or something. It was a struggle.

Pretty sure Huntress Lullaby doesn't stack with madness skillcheck procs, which would mean as soon as a survivor hits Tier 1 Madness for the first time the perk is dead.

Then it can be switched out with Ruin/Surveillance. Either way, I've seen Survivors dozens of times fail their skill checks more frequently with it and it hasn't stopped me from getting consistent 4k's. Especially on The Game.

  • @Phasmamain said:

They are definitely OP but brain dead is definitely a stretch

He called her brain dead because she was Strong and when I told him it's the hardest Killer to master along with being the most bugged, he said it wasn't. That's the only screenshot I didn't bother getting since it cut out right after.

What is your build, I'd like to try it. I'm getting tired of having 2.5 gens get done by the time I finish setting my traps and get into my first chase.

Unnverving Presense, Distress, Huntress Lullaby, Surge

  • Never ran into one that does. And my Doc runs a specific build where you'll hardly ever get a generator done.

  • I can say I've personally done it as a Rank 1. But only to toxic teams that run specific builds so they never get hooked ever.

  • I play at Red Ranks solo as a Survivor and I can't think of a single time I've ever used DS. Before and after the changes.

  • Shouldn't blacklist any maps based on a Killer. Perk Selection, Killer Selection, and Map Generation is all random for a reason since it can't be biased and favor a particular side. If the game should cater its maps based on the Killer you select to give you an advantage, then the game should cater to the Survivors by giving them knowledge on what Killer you select so they can pick the best perks to counter you.

  • You mean the money they make from doing Chapters and cosmetics isn't enough to get a "rejoin" feature? Bs

  • SSD is good regardless of whether you play DBD or not. If you don't have an SSD for your system, I'd recommend getting one.

  • You say try hard but think about it from this perspective. Queue times for Killer can range anywhere from 2-7 minutes. I'm not going to sit around and wait for a game just to not be able to properly play and enjoy it. Especially when dozens of Survivor groups before and after you will do the same thing.

  • No, he wasn't. He had his extreme advantages such as always knowing where the Survivors were at in the dream world and they never knowing where he was. But beyond that, he was average.

  • Any Survivor that puts on a last second item such as a key/flashlight/toolbox so the Killer can't put something on to counter.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2333543#Comment_2333543

1 - Of course its worst than ever since i'ts instant T , im playing since 2018 and i never met so much tunneling before. So yup i guess it will be worst again in the future

2- stop talking to me as an newbie, i know that the killer wont leave an hooked surv if someone nearby. Im talking about the ones that are in the opposite of the map but that gonna come back just to sue you to death, that have the choice to start another chase but that gonna choose the easy way out and ruins someone else game on purpose. Yeaah its part of the game... just like making a fishtail in a F1 race

3- No, if a killer wants you dead, he will eat the DS and the BT no matter what. You can be unlucky with the map structure but stop calling someone's gameplay you dont even know potato, at this point its laughable

4- because the event is just basically this. The killer tends to play more unfair since he will be rewarded anyway

5 - once again, no. I can answer that maybe other killers can catch on, have 3k or even 4k without being jerks ? We wouldnt have such DC's as survs if the game were fair. And i dont know why you talk about queue times but ok.

5- im on PS4, and its awful i can tell. Anytime the killers hits someone, anytime someone use dead hard, and some randoms moments for no reasons, you got a 0,1 sec freeze.

For others yeah sure i'm a survivor entitled blah blah blah git gud blah blah blah..

    1. Not talking to you as a newbie. I'm deconstructing your arguments. Now attached to that, if you get unhooked with the Killer being across the map and he comes back and immediately finds you, that sounds like you're either leaving scratch marks to your position, or you just stood under the hook to get healed. If I as a Killer do a Gen patrol and I don't see a living soul along the way, and the only notification I get is where you were unhooked, I'm naturally going to go over there. Hopefully to get the Survivor that unhooked you. If you're the ONLY person there that I see on my way back, I'm naturally going to chase you and down you. So if the shoe fits... lace it up.
    2. I most certainly can, mistakes happen. If RNG is on your side in terms of vaults, pallets, and tiles and you're STILL messing up against someone who is equally skilled or worse than you, that's bad play on your part. Or in other words, being a potato Survivor because I've seen it and done it myself from time to time.
    3. Event doesn't correlate with being tunneled.
    4. DC's still occur regardless of whether someone get's tunneled or not. I've had people DC on me for being the first ones downed. I've seen people DC when a Killer plays Freddy or Spirit. I've had people DC on me just out of spite right before I hook them. People will even DC when they get hit after dropping a pallet. DC by tunneling is not as common as you think. And DC is only more rampant now since they removed penalties for it.
  • @IlliterateGenocide said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2333550#Comment_2333550

Yeah that's what I mean, the majority of the time deadhard does nothing but buy them 2-3 seconds, compared to twenty to thirty that Sprint or lithe can possibly buy

But you're ignoring what I just said as well as others. Deadhard if you're in the middle of nowhere with no vaults or pallets nearby will only buy you 2-3 seconds. Deadhard utilized to reach a strong or near infinite loop, or at a good tile link location that good survivors know how to utilize, will run you anywhere from 10 seconds to a minute or 2.

  • Dead hard isn't an issue. I mainly play Killer and I'll walk up on a Survivor and wait about 1-2 seconds to see if they Dead Hard before I bring them down. They either A) Don't have it or B) Do have it and I annotate it for the future. It gets a little agitating at times when they use it to correct their mistake but if they were making mistakes before, they're going to make them again. And I typically bring them down immediately after they use it anyways.

  • @Venzhas said:

Yeah another tunneling topic, yeah we know the song its a legit strategy but wow, now as a solo Q I feel lucky when i'm matched with someone that doesn't hard tunnel every game, or camp

And there is most of the time no genrush, no toxicity, to me its not a question of counterplay, its just "i dont want to play fair, because i dont mind about other people fun so let's bully them for no reasons "

I had to bring back my DS which is, even added to BT, still not enough to counter it in my opinion

Plus this event is totally failed, the idea was to reunite people, but it divided more than ever.

I cant imagine new players on DBD how this behavior can keep them playing ?

This + lag issues = Unplayable game.

    No thanks

    1. This same topic has been said almost verbatim every single time, every single update, since the existence of the game. It is not "worst than ever".
    2. I'm a Rank 1 Killer who mains Demo for a living. And I get accused by the saltiest of players for "tunneling" and "camping" because in their eyes, I should ignore anyone around their hook and go across the map and stare at a wall for 30 seconds to a minute before I even think about going for the player who unhooked them. This is when DS has never gone off and BT has never gone off.
    3. DS and BT does absolutely counter it. That's the whole premise of the perk. If you still can't get out of that situation with 1 or both of those perks. That means 3 things. A) You're a potato. B) You or your team wasted all the pallets in the area for you to loop the killer and make your escape. Or C), RNG is not on your side based on where you were downed and where the Killer hooked you in terms of vaults and pallet drop locations.
    4. Event has nothing to do with your initial statement, so idk why this was thrown in there.
    5. Because other Survivors know how to catch on and play? You also have to think of the difference between the Killer main community and the Survivor community. If you noticed, Queue times for Survivor are almost instant whereas Killer requires you to wait 1-3 minutes. Sometimes even 5-7 if you're really unlucky.
    6. No lag issues unless you're a console player but so far, I haven't seen any on PC and my wife who plays on Playstation also doesn't suffer from lag issues. That's not to belittle your statement, I've seen quite a few posts in the forums about lag issues when it comes to consoles, but it doesn't affect everyone equally.

    Again, matchmaking being a mess.

I just find stupid that a rank 10~ gets paired up with 5+ ones.

I dont really know what my teammates did tbf, i was alone that entire match, so idk if they did anything to trigger the guy, like the things you mentioned, which btw, i dislike, idk why survivors feel the need to be annoying beyond belief by clicking flashlights or teabagging, etc.

Hell i even remember a match that was a draw (2 kill) where i actually praised the killer and complained at how freaking useless my teammates were lol, for context, i worked HARD to get rid of extremely dangerous 3 gen, which i did manage, but my teammates ended up causing a different one, and then they left me without a slimmer of doubt after i distracted the killer long enough for them to finish they mess.

Again, not once in your OP did you say anything about the matchmaking process.

  • I was around for his rework. I mean specifically I'm not getting location notifications when a Survivor screams at Tier 3 Madness. Nor are they running Calm Spirit. I hear them scream constantly but I never get a notification of where it's coming from unless they get hit with Static Blast.

  • First 2 perks are absolutely ridiculous. Third one would honestly be great though.

  • What constitutes a weak Killer? Or a Strong one? I main Demo and I usually tear SWF squads apart at Rank 1, even after a 2 year break. Spirit according to some is the most Strongest killer (for whatever reason) in the game and I suck at her because I hardly play her.

Strong killers are strong based on the player that uses them. Only time a killer is weak is when someone doesn't know how to effectively use them. And after that, it's based on map and the skill level of the opponent(s) you go against.

  • It's the same Anniversary Event as it always has been every year. People get mad they can't farm BP with someone who doesn't want to farm and complain in the forums.

  • Sounds like you're not Rank 1 on PC.

1 2 3 4 5 6 … 19
