I mean, yeah... Behind Borrowed, Decisive, Deadhard, and Iron Will. Most people not running Deadhard are running a different exhaustion and Unbreakable is still way better that Spine Chill.

I am a Ghostface main, bruh. I do not like that perk, but let's not pretend it is spammed at the same level of those perks. Meta is a strong word when you can only run 4 perks and ideally it only competes with 3 slots. A solo survivor would be far better off running Kindred.

Spinechill is for those solo survivors that assume someone else will be running Kindred. Lol. It is quite far down the list of broken perks even if it is better than the other 95% of perks.

No. There are several meta perks that Survivors can choose from. I can't tell you how many games I've played when Ranks was a thing that Rank 1 Survivors were running SC. Especially when they nerfed DS to the ground.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2497317#Comment_2497317

Yes but this is more due to the fact survivor perk are only good but their meta is broken compare to them. Example spine chill its a good perk specially against spirit and wraith player and the stealth killer but compare to the survivor meta the perk is only meh.

Killer its different like i said in my example pinhead with hoarder and franklin can help him getting is chain hunt faster but use those two perk huntress and they are completly useless. With survivor i can use the same build on Feng or Nea and you will see no difference. Thats what i mean by no diversity

TF you on about? SC is definitely a meta perk. Especially for Solo survivors.

  • I feel like this was made up just so Survivors can have an easier time winning games. Preventing the Survivors from escaping is part of the game, which includes slowing down or preventing gen progression. If you as a Killer become REALLY good at doing chases or downing Survivors quickly, then yeah you don't really need to do slowdown perks for your gens. But it's an option, a nice one to have. And not every Killer/player is exceptional at ending chases quickly.

Oh really? We still have people hacking movement- and action speeds, flying, self hooking etc. These have been ignored for years! The variety only ever increased with new added mechanics (like 5 minute headon stuns and kicking animation from victor).

Yeah.... which proves my point? Did you not read what I wrote?

  • @Hanselpup said:

I was playing a level 16 Nurse and everyone escaped. My emblems were below the safety pip, and I should have lost rank. Why didn't I lose rank?

Ranks don't matter anymore with the new MMR system.

I´ve been playing since 2017 and from my experience, cheaters have always been around. I agree though that the frequency of encounters has only increased over the years. What´s most baffling is that the exact same hacks have been used back then and in all these years they haven´t figured out how to prevent them or establish a working anti-cheat. Big sadge

They have prevented them. Problem is, hackers gonna hack. There's always a way in to keep doing what they're doing.

That's less a hardware issue and more a code issue. Due to the nature of online unscripted melee-range combat, the AI driving the actors in our individual scenarios cannot accurately predict what someone is going to do in order to puppet it for us. That couples with the... Words cannot express how poorly made DbD is, so I hope this statement does. Anyway, the garbage info the game has to deal with for absolutely no reason clogs up the already-strained limitations of close-range online gaming and makes everything that much worse, which is why the recent changes they made to pallet stuns and vaulting is so ######### ridiculous (they just shifted the problems instead of fixing them, because fixing them would require DbD to not be something that I have genuinely had nightmares about).

Could be cluttered code, could be hardware only having the bare minimum components to run this game. Honestly no idea. I'm not opposed to the code being cluttered since somehow editing the code for one Killer/perk creates a tons of bugs for others.

Didn't the dedicated servers come out in late 2019? That's barely 2 years.

They did, they switched from the Killer being the host to dedicated servers. However, the servers seem to not be efficient based on the process of information. I'm still hitting Survivors who clearly vaulted and ran a few feet from the window every now and then. I'm still getting pallet stunned even though I landed a direct hit on a Survivor and the sound/animation of them getting injured plays.

Their is ways to determine that in programming. Comparison algorithms and what not. Organizations use software to do all sorts of things ranging from say weather patterns to computer games.

BHVR have been working on this for some time now. Collecting data on how we play. Looking at the patterns. Things such as if a killer does thing A while value B is in this threshold and object C is triggered set D to false. We don't need to know what A, B, C or D represent. BY trying to manipulate the new system you have provided as good example why we don't need to know what those values would mean or the process used to evaluate them.

It's not linear, it's not black and white. It is constantly evolving/learning based on the data it is getting on how we play. It appears to have caught on to what you were tying to do and it is working as designed.

We're talking about the same Dev team who seemingly breaks their game every time a new Killer is released and has still refused/taken so long to fix the long list of bugs that are still prevalent in this game.

I honestly doubt that BHVR was able to come up with such a complex system on the first try with absolutely no issues. Need I remind you the last time they attempted MMR over 1-2 years ago? And before you compare the 2, the initial MMR system they created and the one they have now are completely different systems.

  • Better servers. Honestly, better servers would solve a lot of issues. Pallets validating through Server first sounds like a great idea in concept until you realize there's a gap of information being registered between 2 hosts. It's annoying, and they need to upgrade their hardware already. Been 5 years now and they still won't upgrade.

  • You forgot these at the exit gate while you were tea-bagging.

    Clown.jpg

  • Not even question. Everyone wants it. Right now we're just going through the painful growth stages of adjusting Killers to survivor skill level. I could be a God tier Demo but I am absolutely horrendous on Twin. If I play Twins, I'll be matched with the bottom tier of Survivors until I crawl back where the game is relatively even.

I want to enjoy a game, not sweat hard because I'm going against SWF death squads.

they do tho. in the tome she sacrifices because she thinks it can cure people infections. evil actions from people trying to do good.

Ah, if the tome tweaked her lore that way, then I rescind my previous comment. But it still remains for Hellraiser. Personally, he as an individual character just doesn't fit the mold of what DBD has been setting.

  • Now that you mention it since I completely forgot about her, she doesn't fit in either. She's no Killer in her past life. And the only reason she does now is because... she believes the Entity is her God and she's in fear of it? It baffles me. If they tweaked her lore and stated she performed ritualistic murders in the name of her God because she's an over-religious zealot who's off the deep end, I'd be all for it.

  • @IlliterateGenocide said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2474798#Comment_2474798

of course they had to make creative liberties , and about the manipulation. many other killers like nurse fall under that category. im not saying trickster huntress or slinger dont fit. im saying everyone fits just as much as the other.

Unless I missed something in recent lore about the Nurse, she isn't being manipulated. she went insane and murdered all her patients (I think because she thought it was helping them). And even if the Entity IS manipulating her, it still plays out nicely because she's already an insane and violent murderer.

Hellraiser fits into none of these categories. He's a Hell Priest that tortures in the name of masochism for his God. His mannerisms, his actions, his speech don't fit with what DBD has setup and have. He's no Slasher, and he's not even technically a Killer. He just torments people. Again, this is my opinion, so it obviously it isn't right or wrong, but he doesn't fit with the rest of the cast when you compare him to anyone else. I WOULD agree that he fits in more with DBD than Twins though. No idea why they're here based on their lore other than the fact the entity chose her for some reason.

  • @IlliterateGenocide said:

He fits just as much as Candyman. maybe even more. plenty of the killers we have now don't necessarily fit either.

Huntress.Trickster.Deathslinger. are some killers that have allmost nothing to do with horror and if these guys fit. so does pinhead, candyman, or even FNAF

Aside from DeathSlinger which I'd have to agree, that's completely untrue. Trickster is an original slasher killer (Freddy, Myers, and Ghostface are primary examples of Slasher Horror film Killers). Huntress is a psychopathic murderer who preys on victims in villages and steals their daughters, who is also an original horror Killer (Similar to Hag, Doc, Nurse).

Now if you were to say Twins doesn't fit, or Pyramid Head, I'd have to completely agree with you. They don't. BHVR had to word it for DeathSlinger and Twins that they're being manipulated to a certain degree. And PH is essentially given a new identity since he's the result of the main protagonist's repressed guilt in Silent Hill. He doesn't exist outside of that, and BHVR took that and changed it so that PH is his own person.

Now when you take this and compare it to say, Pinhead. It's not comparable. Pinhead is a character who revels in masochism and sadism to the highest degree in Hell. Candyman would fit the lore more into DBD since he is a classic slasher. A supernatural one at that. FNAF is just some crazy robot who resides in a kid's playstore/diner.

People without high standards like you find her very attractive. The hole in her chest adds personality

Tf is attractive about Twins? Or Pig? or most if not all of Plagues skins?

  • Blood Warden.

Every time I equip this perk, I usually massacre the team before I can even use it. When I don't equip it, suddenly I have to clutch endgame plays.

  • Update BP Web so it's quicker and more efficient.

As I've stated on numerous threads, particularly the long thread we have here on the forums with regards to console optimisation...this is still work in progress for us and the team is working on fixing the issues that Consoles are currently facing, especially those hitches when things like Dead Hard is being used. This is an ongoing process.

Then the team should possibly stop pushing out more and more content and focus all efforts on refining their code and putting their game into a healthy state? There's been petitions and other talks (won't even mention it without getting banned again) where people are constantly asking to stop all new content releases and focus a chapter on purely fixing the game.

If they have time to push out Hellraiser and fix (most) of his game breaking on PTB, they got plenty of time to focus their attention on the game as a whole.

  • @Hex_Llama said:

Instead of thinking about it as killers vs survivors, we should be thinking of it as toxic players vs the rest of us. The toxic players express their toxicity differently depending on whether they're on killer or survivor that day, but it's not a killer or survivor problem. It's a toxic player problem.

And where do you generally see toxic players playing most as?

  • @SaltyNooty said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2447320#Comment_2447320

Oh no, that's far from the truth. I'd rather face off against the nurse but it's the fact that they're ALL RUNNING THE EXACT SAME PERKS, or near-identical. Like Infectious fright is the MAIN thing i saw in every build and it was annoying because the range is literally the Terror radius. Now frankly, that's not bad because all you have to do is avoid the Terror radius, it's more of the matter of knowing when you're in that terror radius and or how to GET OUT of it in time; especially with a nurse who can just teleport towards you and down you in less than a minute.

Except damn near a lot of Killers running IF. Are you upset that a player uses a meta-perk? I can't think of a single time I ran into a Survivor that WASN'T using one of the main meta-perks (I.E UB, DH, BT, DS, IW, etc.) Granted, I use BBQ, Whispers, Sloppy, and Nurses Calling on mind because I'm just starting to learn her, but still. I main Demo and I use IF on him.

That's completely different to Strangers Things chapter having a date on when it's going to be removed

And once again, the map isn't going away until November and it's currently August. People want to play the map a few more times before they are unable to do so anymore. Idk how often you get Hawkins on your blood web, but I get it maybe 1-2 times out of every 10 cycles if I'm lucky. What's a measly 5k points for the map offering when you make triple that in one game usually?

  • When people stop playing altogether or BHVR moves on to make another game. Games die eventually.

    For example which perks?

This way the gens are flying like crazy

Eh, that's quite the visual glitch - first showing no perks at all, even with corrupt intervention firing, and then suddenly only during the endgame score do perks appear in his list, none of which are corrupt intervention? Smells fishy to me.

How long have you been playing DBD?

Perks for Killer don't appear until the match is over. This prevents people who play together to relay what the Killer is playing.

  • @fogdonkey said:

These survivors aren't even healing and the gens are flying liķe crazy. They finish the gens in front of me, before I coild use pop goes the weasel. Or often I see with bbq that they are doing gen on the opposite side of map, no chance of stoping the gen.

Nah. If Thana became base kits, say goodbye to most of your perks that rely on a Survivor being injured, because they'll focus on healing instantly.

  • Map isn't going away until November. We're still in August.

  • No. Add a TLDR because I'm not going to bother reading a whole essay on why you think a perk sucks.

  • A good nurse isn't a sweaty nurse. When you get past the baby tier nurses (AKA me), you'll realize that you're highly outclassed unless you run a sweaty SWF's death squad.

  • Never made it far into the match to be able to use it. But man is it fun to meme with when you're able.

There's no way Freddy is stronger. Unless you have the add on failed skill checks will wake you up, his anti loop is like old Clown but even worse, where survivors can leave even more easily the loop, and the teleport is not that essential.

I dominate with Freddy having no add-ons. Perk synergy is key obviously, but he maintains such massive map pressure that's unparalleled among Killers with his teleport and his anti-loop Dream Snares/Pallets. No one comes close to his power other than Nurse. The difference being that Nurse has a high skill ceiling and Freddy does not. PH doesn't even compare.

  • No. I came to enjoy and play the game since there's nothing else like it. Not obligated to serve anyone else based on what they feel or want since it's a competitive versus.

And what even qualifies a "nice survivor"? One that doesn't t-bag and click flashlights? A normal player? Truly, what a bar to set.

  • @Power_Guy said:

Honestly, just make DCers die to the Endgame Collapse animation when they DC, complete with the 'late sacrifice' points or whatever it gives.

This buys the Killer time, and it's not unfair for Survivors unless you specifically point to someone waiting for a hatch. In that case; it SHOULD be unfair for them. Which it would be.

I believe someone said this already, and it is the best way to fix the problem. People not waiting for hatch are not affected, people waiting for hatch are screwed, and the Killer gets his EGC points.

Exactly what I'm saying and a couple others have said. However it seems like they either are accepting of the exploitation or saying that the DC timer is the one and only solution.

  • @Seraphor said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2430993#Comment_2430993

    15 minutes certainly does.

After that it's 30 minutes, and so on.

Do you get how they increase with each DC?

You get one 'free' DC if you consider that 5 minutes isn't a deterrent.

SWFs aren't continuously DCing like this, they wouldn't be able to play for hours at a time.

Think about this concept for second.

There is a large player base in this game. Which means there's more than one SWF group that can do these DC's. On average a week, I prob experience this exploitation...... 4 times a week if I'm being conservative in my estimates. And I play dozens of matches every day, 7 days a week.

Now the DC timer, only increases if you're frequently DCing. However, that DC timer, resets. Idk when, or how long it takes to reset. But what I do know is that there was a period of 2 days where I DC'd on the first day, and got the initial 3-5 minute timer. And then I DC'd the second day and got another 3-5 minute timer.

Now take those numbers and variables, and go ahead and multiply that with the amount of times a SWF's group can DC for hatch with the amount of groups that can do it. It's a pretty large number. So no, DC doesn't solve anything if a vast number of people are doing it at an infrequent amount of time that doesn't double the DC Timer. It limits the amount of times they can do it in a certain time period sure, but it doesn't outright solve the problem.

Nor does it do anything to solve what's happening during the match which is an unfair advantage they gained from doing the exploitation, which is primary focus.

    Edit: Forgot to quote.

  • @Seraphor said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2430985#Comment_2430985

Is it taking you 2 minutes to get back to the lobby screen?

No. I'll say one final time. The DC timer doesn't matter even if it is 5 minutes. It doesn't do enough to stave off the exploitation.

  • @Seraphor said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2430972#Comment_2430972

It's 5 minutes, for the first DC, 2nd is 15 minutes, and it increases from there.

So more than one DC for that SWF is going to significantly hinder their gameplay.

Every time I've DC'd, it's usually 3 minutes. I haven't gone beyond the first to know the next timer.

And again either way, the DC doesn't solve anything if it is still happening on a large scale. They should do a death animation for a DC'd survivor and it would probably help stave off the exploitation by just a little bit.

  • @Seraphor said:

They're getting a DC penalty and a depip for it. The jokes on them.

So what if they get the hatch, you got 2 DCs. You're already winning.

Depipping doesn't matter now due to the MMR. And the initial DC penalty is like 3 minutes. That's not much.

I'm very well aware that when it happens in game, I'm usually always dominating. But it shouldn't come down to the only way to win/escape against a Killer is DCing so your buddy gets hatch. It shouldn't be such a common occurrence that happens a lot in the community. A simple adjustment in game would stave it off, a DC penalty means nothing until it's so frequent that the time gets extended.

  • No, if anything, RNG needs to work a little more in Pigs favor and she needs to gain more BP for the mischievous category. It's hard getting a high score with her, Plague too since their powers are limited and can be redacted.
