Because people find winning... fun? Crazy concept, I know. I don't think Solo Queue survivors go into a match to purposefully lose. And if they are, it's based on a ritual/challenge they are required to complete. And I can't really name a person who enjoys losing.

Everyone said Deathslinger was a worse huntress btw
Everyone said Oni was a weaker Hillbilly btw
Knee jerk reactions in this game only serve to give you a false sense of confidence. "Oh he's playing x killer, no need to worry..."
People still say that

Learn the hard way and brace through it. You'll get skilled in it quickly and will win most games unless you're against SWF's.

im 4king consistantly without every using the training wheel addons
That's expected within the first couple weeks. People new and old swam DBD when there's a new chapter. Then you have the rest who are adjusting to the new Killer as they learn how to effectively survive against him.

You read that wrong and thats ok, the addon does a big part of the work for you, you can still play to that level without it you just need to make up the difference the addon made with skill and experience
Quoting OP.
'Kinda. You can still play w/o addon, though it would extremely difficult and rather ineffective.
I would preffer to think about it as musthave fast charge addon on billy of at least grey quality so he fit into timings. Same story here.'

Aren't you guys judging the killer too soon? You can't play a killer that has a huge skill cap like him for 10 games and already make a statement like "he isn't viable". It's like saying Nurse and Huntress aren't great killers because your first games as them suck.
Another post already said it for me and a lot more eloquently, skill cap is high for low reward.
-
So essentially, he's pretty bad without his add-on. His power his heavily add-on dependent and without it, his power is damn near ineffective aside from traversal and the most beneficial of situations.
-
Didn't say 4ks were impossible. Plus new Killer means new adjustments that Survivors have to make. So what's your point?
-
This Killer is heavily disappointing. His chase music just isn't that great, his power as you said demands a lot for low reward, and you're better off 90% of your chases just following and doing an M1. You can get more use out of Demo's Shred than you could with Blight's Charge, even if you're not a Demo main.
-
Huntress is an out-liar because she's the only "ranged" Killer that has a cool down when it comes to holding and releasing M2. DeathSlinger and Demo do the same kind of mindgame when they aim down their rifle/open up for shred before releasing M2 and going in for a basic M1 attack. The point is moot, PH is in a good spot.
-
Much as I hate it, Head On is fine as it is based on it's utility. What they DO need to fix however is the delayed (possibly latency) based issue where you still get stunned even after the animation is finished.

and even if its Tinkerer.. the description of tinkerer says you get the undetectable status effect for several seconds it doesnt say something like "after hitting someone you lose the status effect" and as we can see on the footage he just gets a TR after hitting someone.
something is strange here.
He doesn't get his TR back after hitting someone. That's chase music going on. Chase Music still occurs even if your terror radius is zero.
-
Looks like Tinkerer's to me. Both examples you showed, you were working on Gen's that were clearly above 70%. He also had no Red Stain which also indicates who TR dropped to zero. He even comes straight for your Gen both times when you're above 70% which implies he either had Discordance (doubt it) or Tinkerer's since it gives you a notification that someone is working on the Gen.

I've played Deceit. I don't find it toxic, it's just hard to enjoy when you're usually the first guy shot

Only thing I won't do is prestige all my Survivors. I prestiged 2, I MAY prestige a third but that's it. Don't need Survivors that are interchangeable.

Only play it because there isn't others like it. If there was something better out there, more horror specific, I'd be playing that. It's either this or Ark/OverWatch

But better items cost more BP and I want to spend less BP.
Not prestiging your character clearly helps in this, if you're someone who doesn't spam Purple Flashlight every single match, or use Ultra Rare add-ons as Killer in each match.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1591488#Comment_1591488
I've been doing this, too, but I decided I won't prestige my main further, this being Jeff, thanks to somebody on the forums who suggested I should main him.
That.. makes no sense. And that's your personal opinion.
-
I like losing my stuff all over again. It's nice to start from the bottom and play around with Tier 1 - 2 perks.
On top of that, you essentially stated the purposes of Prestige. To get a better chance at having better items and getting their bloody skins. That's all it was designed for.
-
Left 4 Dead needs to be updated. Ever since they came out with the update that Hatches can be closed and trigger EGC, there is absolutely no way to win it without getting aid from the Killer. The only other option is to be in a Scenario where there's only 1 other Survivor left who's been hook and you 99% a Gen and let them die. And that's if the Killer isn't trying to find you after the hook or they slugged them to find you.
-
It's EGC and the dude has no other options but to camp to at least walk away with 1 Kill. What's the problem?
-
People generalize everything. Hell, the first comment to your OP was literally generalizing most people to be Killer mains who whine.
-
It's really map dependent. If you're on Ormond and you go up against at least a decent team, you're bound to have people escape, maybe even outright lose. Other maps, it's 50/50 usually. I usually get my first hook in by the time the 1st Gen pops. Sometimes I'll get lucky and get 2 before the 1st Gen pops. But usually, if the Survivor knows how to run me, I'll get a hook within 2 Gen pops because Survivors are spread out.
-
I mean, who "regularly" uses Iri add-ons to begin with? I think the only Killer where I see the most Iri add-ons being used is Huntress. I rarely ever use add-ons at all, and the times I do is just to mess around like on Doctor with Game.
But DeathSlinger's pink add-ons are just not that great. One requires you to be in the most perfectly situated position to reel someone in with absolutely no interruptions while the other, 8/10 times you're still gonna be in the same chase, regardless of whether you see other individuals or not.

Imagine being so angry that you specifically develop a strategy to not win, but just annoy other players. Yeah, I don't like players like that. Survivor or killer. Don't care. Players like that are too common now days and mostly because they never had to grow up playing games in front of others that could punch them in the mouth. Nor did they have to personally see who their words/actions hurt someone they wanted to be friends with. Yeah.....I don't like those people on either side. I'd rather play the game as intended, not just to annoy someone else.
I wish it was as common as you guys claim it to be. Because I don't deal with it. I've maybe ran into like 6 camping Bubbas in my time before and after the buff to Bubba. And during those encounters, I survived 4 of them. And of those 4, 2 of which the entire team survived because we were somehow coordinated enough as Solos. Granted, I will admit I play Killer heavily so I don't see it as often as a Survivor main would. But I have a crap ton of hours put into playing Survivor and I'm Rank 1 on PC so most of the communities issues, I hardly see these days.

Playing against camping bubba is basically being invited to play Board games like Monopoly and spending the whole play trough in jail.
And this goes for both of you now. Whether you personally like it or not, it's part of the game. I don't like getting face camped either as much as the next guy, but it doesn't ruin my fun, nor do I get angry in EGC and bad mouth the Killer because he used a strategy I didn't like. You're going to run into some Killers that play differently that just out play you. Most of the time I blame myself for getting into that situation, and the other times I blame lag or bs latency hits.
-
No, NOED isn't toxic. Anyone who tries to justify around it by calling it a "Crutch Perk" knows they can't call it toxic but they want to. Play how you want, use what you want. If people get mad at you using it, they're obviously just as bad as they claim you to be because they don't know how to DO BONES.

So, when you load up your toxic build before finding a lobby, how do you know you have toxic survivors? How do you know you don't have some decent people just playing the game? You don't. Thus, you play like an a$$, completely legal, and create new toxic survivors for us to deal with.
Good call.
Because if they're not toxic... then I don't play "toxic". Crazy concept I know. You can still play differently from what your perks are. It's almost like anything can happen in game. Imagine being angry at someone choosing a specific strategy that you can counter completely by being a better Survivor.
-
@Pryzm said:
If you need a build to camp with Bubba, you are not very good, which explains why you are camping to begin with.
Try this one newbie- NOED, Blood Warden, Bitter Murmur and Iron Grasp/Agitation. Just make sure you don't hook the survivor until after the doors open with Blood Warden. That part might take the slightest bit of skill and timing so you might struggle with that. LOL
Enjoy low BP, low pip rate for the least effort possible. Players like this are what cause half the problems in this game. The other half are survivors.
Shoot, I play good and I'm at Rank 1, and there's times where I want to PO some toxic Survivors and camp. Idk any builds for camping, so I would ask the community who does.
So chill

The Hag is just a glorified camper. Everyone of them (except the ones with a broken keyboard/controller who cannot physically hold the necessary button for marking).
I've heard mention of a possible solution, and it only seems fair: have all Hag marks within 12m of the hook be removed when a survivor is unhooked. You cannot possibly believe that a survivor is supposed to crouch-walk up to the hook, unhook, and both are supposed to crouch-walk away before the Hag returns, do you? (Wait, ofc you do; it's been like this since Hag was released)
The Trapper cannot put traps close to the hook. The Executioner cannot leave trenches near the hook.
Ever heard of Urban Evasion? Or Flashlights? Or just common sense? Works wonders I promise.

This doesn't clarify why it is useful to reduce TR during a chase. The "change obsession" effect has a better alternative in Nemesis, which can actually transfer the obsession status from a dead survivor to one that's still alive. In other words, it never gets cancelled like Furtive Chase does. Also my question does make sense. I wouldn't ask what Ruin, or BBQ & Chili are for. However yes, I do want to ask why you would want to run Monstrous Shrine since it also is a very bad (and situational) perk.
Considering that teammates that are being chased always lead them to other Survivors, it's a pretty useful perk. Dark Devotion is the same concept except it requires you to outright leave the chase to hopefully find someone else within 30 seconds.
-
Not even going to bother reading the rest after your third paragraph/line. A lot of people use FC, myself included. I sometimes even use it as a meme with Rancor to do a Mori roulette. It's the one perk that wants you to focus on going for the Obsession unlike other Obsession perks and grants you a decreased terror radius that's even better than M&A by the third token. Your question also doesn't make sense since that could be applied to literally EVERYTHING. Iron Maiden? "What's the point" Monstrous Shrine? "What's the point"
-
Imagine being called Sweaty because you didn't lose. Are people just supposed to hand free Wins to you because you're a console player?

You really don't see an issue with a build that allows the killer to delete one survivor and then add an extra generator's worth of time (at least) to the survivors' objective? Really?
I'm talking about the stupid "jUsT dO bOnEs" meme that people think is actual advice. I don't have a problem with NOED in its concept, my problem with it is when it goes hand-in-hand with stupid ######### like moris, face camping with Bitter Murmur or insta down add ons. I thought my issue was pretty clear from the title, my first post and the fact that all of the builds I posted contained the aforementioned.
No I don't because the game isn't suddenly forfeit because you lost 1 Survivor early in the game. Hell things are done correctly, by the time the first Survivor goes down, a Min. of 1 gen, Max 3 gens if you're super coordinated are done. Dude get's unhooked and let's say a Killer immediately tunnels him off the hook and Moris him. If you didn't pop that 2nd or 3rd Gen yet, you should've by then. It's not complicated. Is it easy? Hell no. But it's still possible if you and your team play smart. It's a green Mori can be used at any time on only 1 Survivor. I've only ever used it twice in my lifetime and both times were used on a player who was a God at looping so I ended them quickly.
-
@xenotimebong said:

The Legion brought a green mori and tunnelled the first person off hook. Doing gens and all totems in a 3v1, which is skewed massively in the killer's favour, is not realistic.
I'd also like you to point out where I bashed anyone or said people can't run NOED.
I don't see the issue with a green Mori. If you want to complain about his playstyle, by all means. But it's a green mori. It's not that bad and you can still pull through and win. I've seen it happen and I've made it happen.
-
I don't really see the issue with Legion besides the fact he had NOED, Every time I or my team gets wiped because of NOED, I get mad at myself or others for not doing bones. Especially when the team wanted to Gen Rush. it's not complicated, quit being lazy.
And bashing Killers for running NOED in EGC/Forums gets you no where because people can play how they want to. Regardless of what perk, add-on/offering, or Killer they choose.

Since when does using a perk suddenly make you a bad killer?

@gibblywibblywoo said:
My major problem with Spirit is bad spirits suck to play against because they won't get any hooks and it leads to a very boring, easy escape.
Mediocre spirits will just get a free win by picking Stridor and using some headphones jacked up.
And good spirits will absolutely decimate you with no resistance no matter what perks you use or try to do in a chase. I feel like if a killer is going to be as overwhelmingly strong and impossible to read as Spirit they need some short of shortcoming but she doesn't.
Most strong chase killers suffer in other areas to balance it out. Deathslinger (as much as I also dislike playing against him) is a good example. A good DS SUCKS to play against because of the ratio of killer/survivor power in a chase flies out the window against him. But because his map pressure is so crappy he can still be easily beaten by focusing gens.
Or billy. Billy has great mobility and an instadown but he can be looped and is reduced to a basic killer near strong windows. Near a dead zone or a pallet that another player already used? Billys got you. He's still a top tier and incredibly popular with killers and survivors despite this.
Her power regens incredibly fast so even if she messed up and misses a lunge out she can try again in about 10 seconds and the survivor has to take a random action and hope she makes a bad play. Her map pressure is actually decent because of aforementioned regen time and phase speed/time.
I adore playing Spirit, I think shes incredibly fun to play as. But having a killer that seems to be averaging at least 1 DC in all my recent matches is giving me Freddy launch flashbacks.
People will DC just to DC. I can't tell you the hundreds of times I had people DC on me for picking Freddy, Pyramid Head, Death Slinger, Billy, or even Plague (of all Killers). If you're not playing something someone considers weak or rare like Demo, Trapper, or Wraith, you're going to get DC's. Especially now with this Crossplay, all I get are people who don't play PC that DC so hard. But that's a topic for a different time.

Freddy's rope add-ons where nerfed after the stats. Also don't forget the ruin nerf that also happened after those stats.
I didn't even realize they nerfed his add-ons. I don't ever use them and he was mainly used for his snares by a majority of the community. Not everyone ran Forever Freddy
-
I mean, any perk is Severely underrated. The problem is that most perks are highly situational so people run with the ol' boring Meta builds. PGTW ain't situational, you're always gonna kick a gen. BBQ ain't situational, you're always gonna hook at least 1 person.
I'm a guy who runs meme builds like all Hex perks just so I give Survivors the ability to control what the outcome of the game will be. That's about as situational as you can get.

And I said 0,1 cause her power is strong like swf is (they're at the same level) but swf is less than 30% of the community...
And why should we use those statistic as a example? We already know those statistic are worthless
Because Freddy and Spirit haven't changed since those statistics and those are the last official statistics we've been given. I also referenced Old Billy specifically, not new. It still applies that she is powerful, but she's not OP.

yeah, I messed up with those two. But still, The two I mentioned were still good options due to the fact that he wouldn't even be able to attack you while you were awake. The fact that you had to wait 6-7 seconds before being able to become an m1 killer to you is BS.
But the benefits outweighed the cons. When you catch 2-3 of them, sleep all of them and chase after one. Now you got 2 other Survivors trying to wake up, while you down the other. And you ALWAYS know where the other 2 are at, even when they wake up because of the noise notification. Being able to come up on them in any direction without them knowing also worked.

Thats just what i said, the surv is guessing where the spirit could go and the spirit hears where the surv is, so you pray that the spirit ######### up.
It is by far the strongest power in the game, even against a good nurse i was able to predict where she would port, how long she charged her blink and with her seeing exactly where i go, jucking her into porting behind a window i didnt jump through.
I dont even want her to get changed or nerfed, but just dont say shes not op, she is by far the strongest killer and its mostly unfun to play against her. (without iron will)
She's not the Strongest Killer. I already posted the stats in this discussion that were posted in November of last year. She's the most popular, but she was third Strongest when Old Billy was around. Idk how the stats look up now since that change or if other people were able to put a shine on the other Killers. But she's under Freddy.
-
@Kamizake said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1585819#Comment_1585819
Iron will is better imo, spine chill isn't that good, she will eventually find you and what happens at that moment? it doesn't help you in chases, it is basically usseles.. I remember it wouldn't light up if she was phasing, this was a good counter to standing still spirit, but I think it got removed
SpineChill still works while she is phasing and is a beautiful indicator when she does phase because you can just circle around until you're out of that cone view. And if she DOES eventually find you, then you lost the chase at that moment, as you should. You either come out escaping or you come out getting hooked. That's how it's supposed to be.
Spirit also isn't solely designed for the 0.1% of top tier SWF's. In fact statistics have her last year as being lower on the Killerate when compared to Old Billy and obviously Freddy. She's just the most popular because you can do more with her power in terms of mindgames and versatility than you would with Freddy and Billy. People just hold her to this colossally high standard when she's just an average Killer.
-
@Kamizake said:
Thing is, when you synergy STBLF on demo, it doesn't remove the counterplay he has, the same goes for your example.
The counter to spirit is using iron will, now what happens when she's using stridor? Yes, we all know it.
She needs a phasing alert and stridor should be reworked, that's all
Actually I don't know it because I've ran Iron Will a couple of times when I'm trying to new builds and I still come out on top against most Spirits, some of which have run Stridor. Even then, SpineChill is the BEST counterplay to Spirit.

That's you assuming survivor plays like that, what If I dont?
What if she's using stridor (which every spirit does)
What if she uses a 3rd party audio surround which makes it 100% easy to play spirit?
I've never ran into an issue like that with Spirit. Not every SPirit has a 3rd Party Audio Surround Sound System. Not every Spirit uses Stridor (mainly because of the toxic comments they get in EGC when Survivors see they did use it). Even the ones that do use Stridor, you can still outsmart them. I don't recall Stridor suddenly telling your exactly location of where you're standing. It's still a guessing game.

Not really. You can use power, stand still and mindgame. Being able to get a free hit just by standing still is not fun. If it's at the expense of her power then she has to wait for her 2nd hit which is a breathing room for survivors
You can mindgame by simply pointing your Rifle as DeathSlinger or opening up for a Shred as Demo then doing an M1 when they juke themselves away from whatever vault/pallet they were gonna do. There are all forms of a mindgame. If you fall for the standing still trick, you lost that mindgame fair and square. And Killers getting their powers redacted for just simply using a basic attack is just ridiculous honestly and not even fair at that point.
