  • Compared to the exclusives being given out, Charms aren't as noticable or valued as much. It's one of the reasons Rift Charms are also exclusives. Charms are the equivalent of a badge on your shirt, people won't notice it unless you really make it obvious.

  • Pretty pixelated.

  • We're most likely going to get Vigo because it has been implied that he is the one doing the putrid serum experiments on the killers. And that he has made a deal with the Entity to get more of that serum for himself.

  • I know from a technical standpoint it'll be difficult but I wouldnt mind seeing a killer that towers over me

I don't really know why survivors think an escape is that important. You are liable to waste several minutes hiding from the killer waiting for the hatch to open. That's not fun for either side. Not to mention, by that point you probably have at least 20K+ bloodpoints from being the longest lasting survivor in the trial, plus a pip. Why sweat so hard over the escape?

But if you insist on getting the hatch, then don't complain when you come across a sweaty slugging killer.

See how that works? You're essentially telling the killer to give up, because it's less fun when the killer doesn't. But the survivor could just as easily concede the match as well. This is what we call "Survivor Entitlement." You may have heard of it before.

Getting the hatch and prolonging the game by forcing someone to stay down is not the same thing.

Escape isn't important, yes. Which is why having fun is more important to me. So if a killer or survivor group is playing to win, using tactics that hinders the other side's gameplay, I'll just not play most likely.

I'll either AFK or suicide dive into the killer because I'm not playing a game where the other side clearly doesn't want to play for fun, but play to win.

A 4k also shouldn't be an indication of "winning". Because you can still 4k and get an Entity Displeased with the current emblem system. And while I'm saying that, neither should escaping be an indication of "winning".

  • @Vetrathene said:

It does suck to be slugged while the killer looks for the other person. But its also the killer wanting to insure a pip, as its far more difficult for the killer to do that then the survivor. The emblems need to be altered is the main thing, especially with the Devs wanting two survivors to escape and two to die, and yet the emblems do not match that expectation.

Three killls usually is either a safety pip or a pip, getting a 4k isn't always a guaranteed double pip though. You also need to millk the survivors dry of emblem points.

Asia I suppose? Philippines to be exact. Does that affect matchmaking?

It can affect matchmaking as it relies on players in your region to also be playing the game when you are playing it.

I don't know how many people bought the Switch in the Philippines but I doubt all of them bought DBD. And even then those who bought it might not have played it everyday.

  • I dislike being slugged while my teammate is trying desperately to survive. Even as a killer I don't typically slug survivors to get a 4k, I just hook the last survivor and go look for the hatch. If they get it, good on them, if I get it, time to patrol exit gates.

There's no point in playing the game in such a way that would make it less fun for others. It's just a game. Play it to have fun, not think you're better than others just because you can get a 4k.

  • I wouldn't call myself a Survivor Main as I also play Killer, being a 50/50 player. Although I will say that I often lean towards playing Survivor more often than Killer.

I love the teamwork and stealth, yes. I also love the chase however I prefer if I am not the killer's first choice of being chased. I like to play the game in a way that will most likely increase my chances of survival, even if it means tagging the killer away from me and onto another survivor.

I don't 99% gates, I don't go for risky saves unless I can safely ensure that I can also survive getting away, and the only time I'll try to get the killer's attention is when DS is active and I need them to pick me up as soon as possible.

I'm a team player when I need to be, but I will run and escape and leave the others for dead when the opportunity presents itself. It's a different story when I am playing with friends however, as I am more inclined to be altruistic and go for the save as more of my friends being alive is more beneficial for both of our survivals.

  • I can hit Ruin Skillchecks just fine. Sometimes I get a streak of over 10 of them.

But when Ruin gets destroyed, for some reason I start to suck at getting Great Skillchecks. Don't ask me why, I don't know either.

If he bans a player because his son asked him too, he will most likely be given a warning or be fired. If he bans a player that is effectively cutting off a potential revenue stream from someone.

I agree that ideally the conditions should be equivalent, which is why I voted for the 4k option. If I had to guess, I'd say the devs realised that implementing the emblem system would mess with the achievements, but made an executive decision to put it out anyway rather than letting something relatively insignificant get in the way of a big game improvement like a (theoretically) better, more accurate and in-depth ranking system.

"Theoretically". However the emblem system doesn't reward players who play effectively.

  • Mine would probably be Empathy, Prove Thyself, and Ace in The Hole.

As a person I like to care for others before myself, and I tend to find myself being quite lucky from time to time.

Relating to a character though, that's a bit tougher because I can't say I relate to a single character. Like exactly.

  • It's ironic that the best features the devs added to the game were "bugs".

  • I usually give them the hatch if they played fairly well (without using any of those perks like Object of Obsession) and they gave me a good game that was both fun and enjoyable.

It's just my way of saying thanks for a great game.

  • I often use it to also gauge the Killer's expected Rank range.

If I joined a lobby with mostly Yellow Rank survivors, I know I may be joining a lobby of a white/yellow rank killer.

  • Pre-Spirit Change:

Yakuyoke Amulet + Wakizashi Saya. Insanely powerful. Much more powerful than both of her Ultra Rares combined with an insane lunge.

    Post-Spirit Change:

Dirty Uwabaki + Rusty Flute: Faster than Pre-Spirit Yakuyoke and charges faster too, just not as long and I am fine with that.

  • The problem with making them be a "Merciless Victory" is that you have to literally milk the survivors dry of Emblem Points. And not only that but a Merciless Victory means Full Iridescent across the board on Red Ranks, meaning it's not even consistent because the higher your rank is the harder it is to get a double pip.

It needs to be a 4k otherwise it can make certain killers have a lot of trouble getting the achievement through no fault of their own, but rather the fault of their perks which are mediocre to borderline useless.

    Same.

I'm fresh out of characters to dump BP so I was getting the next Survivor no matter what. But even if her perks are trash she seems worth it.

It just so happens I got 1 million BP today. Can't wait.

Not gonna lie that's what I'm expecting lol he won't simply vault the window. He'll have to jump through it somehow

He'll break the window and that window will be unusable for 4 minutes.

the oni's ability: press space in front of a window to break it and make it unusable by attempting to vault it

ngl that would be op as heck.

  • If he is that huge he'll have a problem in the outdoor maps.

  • Didnt expect anyone over 40 to be playing this game.

  • Well, I assume you can use those Rift Fragments for the next Tome.

  • Can't wait to main Yui.

  • I am personally tremendously annoyed we don't get accurate data.

  • I'd like a boost in vault speed. I already use Spine Chill for that so combining that with Lithe would make it have great synergy

  • Ikr? I don't get why they call this DLC a Chapter when there is no new map/survivor. It's quite literally just a Paragraph.

  • Hmm, can't agree with you there hun.

Also try doing Map Pressure with some killers like Clown, I dare you.

for newest killer yes like freddy , myers , ghostface, and demogorgon... but for old killer ? like cannibal , pig ... or maybe old survivor like david...

As u know collecting 9k Iridescent Shard is not easy .. People must have a lot level up to get 9k shard...

    I only suggest this BTW...

They still had to pay money for that and I assume they have an annual contract where they are obligated to pay a percentile to the IP Owner.

    Simply No.

  • They can't do that with Licensed Killers/Survivors.

They need to make their money's worth from using the characters from those franchises. If they gave everyone every character using only Iridescent Shards, then they wouldn't be able to break even with the amount of cash they have to drop in order to get the licenses to use those characters.

Yes, but that forces you to play differently. I said in which case the counter means that the pallet does not break, or the killer is stunned for the entire duration, rendering the perk completely useless.

If that's your reasoning then I don't see why Freddy should not have a counter to BT with his Dream World. Yes it's passive rather than reactive like dropping down a pallet early, but his whole gimmick is that the Dream World is supposed to be a state the survivors do not want to be in. The longer they are in the Dream World the more they make Freddy powerful and able to snowball against them.

  • Useful tips 👍

Though for Hungry Jaws all I did was just farm with the Survivors. Don't need to go through the stress of playing Trapper if you could sidestep it with farming.

  • You are aware that Perma Tier 3 only happens if your team allows him to get enough evil to begin with right? And the amount he needs to gain is huge

Also Judith's Tombstone makes him a slower killer.

Those addons are strong and they should remain as such. Stop asking for counterplay on things that literally already has counterplay or setbacks for the killer.

But you are already disadvantaged in Dream World besides the Oblivious. It's just not necessary, especially when it's passive. If he had to actively do something (eg. use an add-on) I would be fine with it. It's the passive base kit part that is a problem.

I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree then. I as a survivor don't personally have a problem with him having this in his basekit. I don't play him but I don't think this is as broken as you think it is.

I'm fine having risks or killers that can completely negate a perk I bring, as perks that can completely negate certain killers also exists on the other side.

  • The two challenges you mentioned are either very luck based or requires a lot of preparation with multiple people.

The challenges are repetitive, but I prefer those over challenges that are impossible to reach.

I disagree that it actually makes an unsafe unhook safe, unless the gates are open and the door is close. If you unhook unsafely with BT, all that literally does if they decide to chase the unhooked is give them a few extra seconds, which they MAY(but not often, unless more people are there to help with the unhook) get to a pallet. It rewards the unhooker with BP, but it rarely does anything helpful for the unhooked, again, unless the doors are open or 99ed or multiple people are there to keep the killer from his victim.

As for "why are you bothering for a risky save?", I don't use BT, but I don't think that a counter to bad behavior should have a counter to it. It was made to counter camping, there should not be a counter to that counter, and yes, you can punish the killer camping, if the hooked person wasted minutes of his time and you managed to get 2 or almost 2 gens done(in other words people aren't doing totems, chests, or nothing). Otherwise, he'll find someone else after that person dies on the hook before the gens are all done. But even if you managed to successfully get all the gens done while that camper only had one kill, that one person had to suffer through a game doing absolutely nothing and likely didn't get many points and is going to depip because all they got out of the game was a chase. At least with BT there's a potential chance they get to play the game more, except against Freddy.

In my opinion, this is like saying survivors should have a counter to Spirit Fury+Enduring(where the pallet actually does not break, or the killer is still stunned for the full duration).

There is a counter to Spirit Fury+Enduring, and it's dropping the pallet in front of the killer rather than stunning them.

    @thesuicidefox said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/843243#Comment_843243

Because he literally doesn't have to do anything.

Using a perk/add-on to counter BT is fine because you give up a perk/add-on slot.

Using your power ACTIVELY to counter BT is fine because every killer that can do this has limits and counters.

Freddy does not fit any of these criteria. He just does it, with no input on his end. And the survivor has to go so far out of their way to wake up in most cases, which is easily undone by Freddy hitting them. In other words, he just plays like he normally would and immediately counters whatever you can do to counter him. His counter to BT is entirely passive. THAT is the problem.

Which, again, in my opinion isn't that big of a deal. Considering that Freddy is just 1 out of 17 killers. No other killer has what he has, yes. Which means that he is more powerful when there's a survivor on a hook. He rewards players for consistently keeping the pressure on by putting them in the dream state. A state that, even as a survivor, I know I should be heavily disadvantaged in.

  • @Atrushan88 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/843197#Comment_843197

The problem with this is that BT is a band aid fix to a behavioral issue. BT is supposed to be their "counter" to camping and tunneling. Giving a killer immunity to that does two things. It gives campers a killer to use to maximize it's effectiveness, and encourages that behavior. Oblivious is fine when used in moderation, but when the killer can inflict it at will, while it renders band aid fix perks useless, it's bad design.

Yes, being in the dream world should be a detriment to the survivor, but it shouldn't add bad design on top of bad design.

Well see it this way, if a killer is camping and you know they are camping. Or if you hear the lullaby very close to the hook, why are you bothering to go for a very risky save? You could force the Freddy to waste gens because he is standing there waiting for a save that would never happen. So he is forced to go away from the hook in order to protect and patrol gens.

BT rewards unsafe unhooks, and I've used it everytime I play as a Survivor. It basically makes hook diving an easy way to get someone safely off the hook. I don't necessarily agree that Freddy needs to be changed because he is only 1 killer out of 17 that has a complete counter to one perk. It's not that broken

  • @thesuicidefox said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/843236#Comment_843236

No because both are basically the same when it comes to BT.

Just revert the change entirely, put the effect on Pill Bottle instead of what it does now (or maybe in combination with 1 of it's current effects).

Think of it this way. Certain perks/items can hard counter certain killers in Dead by Daylight. Small Game can counter Hag and Trapper. Iron Will can counter Spirit. Flashlights can burn a Wraith, stunning it during it's uncloak. Calm Spirit can counter Doctor and so on, and so on.

So why is it inherently wrong for a killer to be able to counter a single survivor perk? Other than the aforementioned camping, which I don't agree with.

  • @thesuicidefox said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/843197#Comment_843197

There's a difference between crippling and broken. Giving Freddy Oblivious just means he can camp for free and tunnel for free without needing to do anything.

Again if it were an effect of Pill Bottle that would be fine because it costs an add-on slot, but as a base effect it's just broken.

No other killer gets this. Myers is the closest but you can still give BT. Pig/Wraith have to exit stealth mode. GF can be broken out of stealth. Insidious/Tinkerer requires a perk and the killer has to stand still/survivors need to finish a gen.

Freddy just gets it for free.

I'm guessing that means you won't like my idea of giving Freddy "Undetectable" rather than give Survivors "Oblivious" in the Dream World 🤔

  • I know it wouldn't really make sense but I would love to play as her as a Survivor.

I love Rin as a character already so to be able to play her on the side I am better at (I really suck as killer) would be amazing.

  • @thesuicidefox said:

As a Freddy player, he really REALLY didn't need Oblivious when asleep in his base kit. It's dumb he gets what amounts to a free BT counter and free Deep Wounds counter. Seriously dumb. If anything, this should be an add-on effect of Pill Bottle (in place of the current effect because it's just meh). But heck no for base kit. I get the reasoning for giving him this, but it's seriously broken and just kind of stupid. And unlike killers with Undetectable or other instances of Oblivious, Freddy literally needs to do nothing for it, and even if you wake up he can put you back into Dream World immediately upon hitting you, negating any wake ups. Other killers have harder counters or need to swap modes which gives time for the rescued survivor to get away. The only killer who can sort of get away with it on a similar level is Myers because his TR is so small, but even then you can still trigger BT if he is right on top of the hook (when it is absolutely needed the most).

I hope the devs revert this change. Again I play Freddy, he is my top 4 killers, and I have no issue with BT working in Dream World.

This may sound controversial but I feel like this should stay how it is.

As a survivor, being a dream state is disadvantageous to you. You become more easier to see (white outline), your action speeds are slower, and you are vulnerable to his snares and pallets.

Adding the oblivious buff (and subsequently countering BT all together) would make sense as being in a dream state (in my opinion) should be heavily crippling.

1 … 48 49 50 51 52 … 55
