Like I said it's either commit and grind every day or don't buy the pass. Not buying the pass means not getting all the cosmetics and accessories which I would be fine if after the pass they would put them in the store for auric cells

They did mention they might add the items in the Rift into the Store at some point, the only thing you will be missing out are Charms. They are Rift Exclusive.

  • I'd like to mention that you have taken a month's long break, so of course the Rift will feel grindier than it is. You haven't played for a whole month.

  • It's not as grindy as you think it is. I'm at Tier 60 right now and I haven't even claimed my Master challenges. Then again I've also been playing non-stop, so I'm not exactly an "average casual player"

  • SWF are never going to be nerfed because people don't want to be punished for playing with friends.

Can we please stop asking for SWF nerfs? What we need is to balance killers to be able to go up against survivors with comms, not balance SWF to be weaker just because they are playing with friends.

I really like those portraits. What UI pack is it?

I think this may be my 2nd best after the ######### UI pack that is really popular at the moment.

I forgot what it's called, but it's on Steam. I think I just googled "DBD Character Picture Pack"

  • You still get a new one if you leave three unclaimed and claim them the next day.

Though that comes from personal experience, and knowing BHVR idk if that is a bug or not.

Plus, you still get dailies despite having three unclaimed.

this is the point. Little nerf in BT for me.

    Oblivious is demogorgon skill.

    Freddy is not stealthy killer!

When you are in his Dream World you are at a disadvantage. He isnt a stealth killer but neither is Demogorgon.

  • Wait, what?

    Holy crud, that was fast.

  • This is bait.

Move along folks, nothing to see here.

  • I don't think DBD should go back to how it used to be.

Watch this video and you'll see what I mean:

  • I only have about 5 challenges remaining. Although they are behind unclaimed challenges as I am waiting for the DLC to drop for me to be able to level up Yui a lot more faster ^^

  • Yes, there needs to be an inherent risk to being the obsession. Being the obsession is more like a status during the trial rather than a state you don't want to be in.

Being the obsession should be all about high risk, high reward plays. Lets say for example the Obsession gets faster struggle speed when being carried by the killer, they can vault windows and pallets slightly faster, and other stuff that makes it so the obsession can be better at a chase against the killer. To compensate for that, killers have a shorter cooldown on missed or hit attacks when chasing the obsession, they break pallets faster or get bloodlust faster when chasing them, or they could mori them on their final hook.

Just something small or big that would make feeling like being the obsession means something rather than "I brought Decisive Strike".

It's so boring to play against Freddy and Spirit.

Spirit chapter 14 have little good changes collision and window animation and now more balanced.

Freddy need little changes too. Oblivious status is good option.

It's actually not hard to go against those two killers.

You just have to play a lot more differently and focus on different objectives when compared to the other killers.

Freddy gives the survivors a mandatory second objective, waking up. It slows the game down but waking up will make Freddy much more weaker as it slows down his teleporation recharge and makes his snares/pallets completely ineffective. Waking up turns him into an M1 killer with a very slow teleportation recharge.

Now where have I heard talk of survivors getting another objectives other than gens?

Spirit on the other hands requires you to think on your feet, she relishes on survivors who panic when she phases or don't know what to do but stop moving, hoping to not give their location away to her. She's a killer that requires a certain level of understanding and skill in order to accurately predict what she will do next.

Without her power, the Spirit is a 110% killer with a short lunge that can be abused by survivors to make her ineffective during chases.

They're only boring to you because you seem to not have played against in the way that is intended. You're supposed to wake up, you're supposed to predict what the Spirit is going to do next. You're not supposed to win if you don't do or know how to do those two things.

  • Make Blood Echo affect every survivor regardless of Health State (It would make the perk mid tier in my opinion)

And double the amount of time you can use Lucky Break for. Given it only stops you from leaving trails a blood, something the killer most often don't see anyways unless they are paying really close attention. I think it shouldnt be restricted to just 3 minutes. (Would still be a low tier perk, but better.)

@DelsKibara Listen if you provide with hard evidence, clips, or screenshots providing evidence I would be more than willing to change my mind. Provide actual arguments other than saying I should try something else.

I can twist that by saying why aren't you providing evidence of your own?

Surely the burden of proof is not on us, but on you. Prove to us that Freddy and Ghostface are broken, overpowered, non-counterable killers with hard video evidence.

  • I don't think @Sairek would consider themselves a challenger when the person they are "challenging" isn't even that challlenging. Just tedious and monotonous.

What do you want us to say? Agree with you? Even if we give you all the counters in the world you would still say Freddy and Ghostface are overpowered just because you don't find them fun.

And to add, no I'm not going to continue this conversation after this. Like Sairek, I'd rather end it before it even starts.

Waking up, remembering where pallets were, not running onto the dream snares/throwing down the pallet early and then moving onto the next loop.

Ghost Face doesn't have a warning? I guess that very obvious noise of what sounds like his clothes being blown through a tornado is just ASMR candy, then. Totally doesn't let you know that he's nearby. Nope.

His footsteps are also pretty loud even when you're injured and running. I remember being jumped by a Ghostface thinking it was another teammate's footsteps.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/864451#Comment_864451

@Sairek How does one counter an ability with no cooldown? Or a killer with no warning and terror radius? Notice the three original killers all have counterplay. You can disable Trappers traps, Wraith gives a warning before he can attack, and Hillbilly (Whilst Powerful) is extremely loud and can be countered by just being near a pallet or paying attention to his chainsaw. Freddy and Ghostface don't follow this guideline. They actively power creep these killers with no down side.

Consistency is what made T1 Myers much worse than he was. He was the only killer who trumps Spine Chill and Premonition. Because the devs wanted to be consistent and give him Undetectable, he is arguably a lesser effective stealth killer than Ghostface is.

  • @DuckApproved said:

@HeHeBoii This is for the sake of the game. It is unhealthy for killers like this to be uncounterable. Also will help the clear imbalance when it comes to Killers V. Survivors. These two are way to strong as of right now. tbh they need to nerf Spirit again before these though.

So because a killer is powerful, they have to be nerfed?

Every Killer's power has drawbacks to it. Trapper and Hag have to stop moving in order to place down a trap. Does that mean that Trapper and Hag should have no auditory or visual warnings attached to their power? No.

Never confuse "interesting" or "unique" with "fun". A killer that can instantly mori you the moment they see you would be unique, but certainly not fun.

And yes, you are in the minority. Spirit is an easy killer to learn, who is very obnoxious to play against. You shouldn't have to dedicate a huge amount of time to learning how to play against one specific killer. If you have good Survivor fundamentals and understand how the killer's power works, you should be able to win against them. And considering that even the best Survivor players often struggle against Spirit, I'd hardly call her difficulty "fair".

Yes and Spirit's drawback is not being able to see any survivors. That's a pretty huge drawback.

I guess I shouldn't say fun, because fun is subjective. But I do find her to be fun to go up against. Having a killer that keeps you on your toes, makes you feel like you're actually in danger, makes every moment you work on a gen a relief. That's the kind of killers I want to see in this game. Killers that are powerful and require extensive knowledge to go up against.

But again, that's why I say I am in the minority. I don't want to win games easily. I want to work for it. To get moments of great teamwork in as a survivor or moments where I feel like I am snowballing to victory as a killer. Being able to "gg ez" my way through the game is not how I like to play games. Games are just not fun when they aren't challenging or difficult, when luck isn't involved much.

It's one of the reasons why I think the they should just buff killers more than nerfing them, make them an actual threat. But I digress, we're going way off topic with the original post. Which is about suggesting changes to Spirit to make her seem more fair.

  • Servers are currently experiencing issues as you can see on the top header of the forum right now.

They will be back on shortly if they're aggressively working to fix it.

  • @Monlyth said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/863523#Comment_863523

No, it really shouldn't. Spirit already has all of the makings of a top-tier Killer; high mobility to traverse the map quickly, and a power that drastically reduces chase times.

Literally every other killer has clear auditory and visual warnings when they use their power. Spirit should not be an exception to the rule, especially considering how powerful her base kit is.

Considering she goes blind with a slight muffled sound (the vacuum sound she makes can make things confusing). She shouldn't have something clear.

Consistency is not how you make killers that are unique in how they play and play against. That's why people disliked Myers' Undetectable Change. Immunity to Spine Chill/Premonition was what made T1 Myers scary to go up against.

I know I may be in the minority here but whenever I go up against a Spirit, even in an SWF where everyone else is groaning, I am probably the only one who gets excited. Though that is mainly because I want survivor to be much harder than it is right now. And Spirit is that kind of difficulty that is also fair in my opinion, if you've played her and learned her for a while.

  • @Monlyth said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/863482#Comment_863482

Sure, but I really have to disagree with people when they say that Spirit would be over-nerfed if she actually had some clear warnings attached to her power. Her power lets her turn invisible and move at a ridiculous speed in any direction she wants, to the point where the only way to escape it is to trick her into moving in the wrong direction (Which is obviously unreliable against a decent Spirit with headphones). If she had warnings attached to her Phase Walk, she'd still be a very fast and very powerful killer.

Her speed is limited to a low duration time. And a long recharge time. Other than that she is a 110% killer.

She won't be as powerful if her phasing has clear tells. As a survivor can just choose the most obviously safe option. By walking towards the husk if they knew the Spirit is phasing. It should be hard to notice and requires you to pay attention

  • @Monlyth said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/863318#Comment_863318

To me, the core concept of the Spirit is being able to turn invisible and move really fast, in any direction she chooses, and able to change directions as much as she wants. The whole "psychological manipulation" aspect of it really doesn't work in practice.

Being invisible is part of that "psychological manipulation"

  • I'm the best when I play as Spirit.

But when I want to have some fun scaring survivors, I choose Ghostface and any indoor map.

  • As someone who is really fond of Decisive Strike (even as Killer, I don't mind it). This would be a nice change. It would make Decisive Strike only potent on one survivor at a time, because if the killer is doing well, why should he be punished because of mistakes that survivors makes that piles up?

Kinda like this video that Otzdarva just recently uploaded

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eS7nn1B03YQ&feature=push-u-sub&attr_tag=XDwRL3quzhitvV-S%3A6

I will add that despite playing both sides, I am more fond of playing survivor. But I do wish the game is harder on survivors making mistakes. Just my own personal opinion

  • Personally I don't see him a lot in my region, I've only been seeing a ton of Trappers (literally over half of my games today is Trapper) and not a single Ghostface. But there is a reason he might have a lot of people playing him.

Playing as a killer that can actually jump at you from nowhere is fun, suddenly appearing in their faces without them being aware is something no other killer has been able to replicate (not even Myers with how tall he is)

  • I would agree only if the intermittent Haunting is missable if you blink. So you have to really really pay attention to see her. Though, I feel like if the survivor is close enough to you they shouldn't be able to see you phasing intermittently. Not close enough within TR, but close enough like 12-6 meters or something from the husk. Which would force the survivor to either abandon a loop (If the Spirit is phasing on a loop) or stick around guessing whether or not she is phasing.

Once you're outside the range you'll see an intermittent image of her if she is phasing.

I don't mind the charge animation either, but only if she also does it during her normal idle animation randomly. Like @Skaraok said, psychological manipulation is part of her core concept. So making survivors second guess whether or not it was a real phase is why I wouldn't mind this change, if it is also a part of her normal idle animation.

One other thing I might add is maybe instead of making her duration longer by 1 second, you make it faster by like 5-10%. Duration addons aren't all that useful if I have to be honest, so giving Spirit more duration doesn't sound like that much of a payoff. But hey, if a duration increase is for the better I'm not going to argue with that.

  • 381210_20191122210229_1.png

I always screenshot it whenever it happens to me.

And it happens at least within half my games.

I know Hex Perks are strong and that's why they can be removed from the game. But please don't make it trivial to find them. Give survivors a reason to go out searching for it rather than have it spawn right next to their objective.

I don't like the idea of making a sequel to a game that has no story mode attached to it so if we were for some reason to get a DBD 2 and it was still just a assym multiplayer game then I wouldn't buy.

"I was never a fan of the exclusive cosmetics being given to everyone really, but I do think that charms are different. Charms are a way of preserving what was good about exclusive skins - that sense of "I was here", like a souvenir or a badge that represents something special - without impacting too heavily on people's ability to customise their character. Also, charms don't face the same issues with third-party reselling or platform exclusivity that exclusive skins did."

Preserving something like "I was here" after 3 years of DBD? And in fact they will be selled on third-party reselling platforms: Didnt you see what happens with accounts with twitch shirts? Accounts with Twitch/Kingkong/Legacy items are sold for enormous prices and with this decision the devs only give such accounts a higher value on those reselling plattforms.

"And don't you think it's a bit silly to complain just because someone else was selected to receive something special and you weren't? That's like complaining that it's not fair that only people who win the holiday contests are granted free auric cells by the devs, or it's not fair that not every member of the forum is a moderator."

No, it is silly to publish double-morals and inconsistens marketing decisions. One of the reasons why exclusives will be free for everyone was to stop the exclusion of people and your example of winning a holiday contest underlines this reason is neglected. I recommend reading my former comment - you did not understand the message behind this post - its a critique on the interface between community management, product management and marketing

"The Fog Whisperer charm is just one way of recognising a certain player as a person who has made a positive contribution to the growth of the game in a particular area. It's okay for people who have been granted a special status to be able to bear a token of that status."

Next to the Twitch and Kingkong shirts? Next to the thousands of auric cells and DLCs with each update? Although a certain percentage is responsible for a negative contribution to the community behavior? Although they insult the devs in another language in their streams? So in your opinion there is only one possibility to have a special status? So it does not matter how helpful you were within 7000 or more hours behind the scenes like support work outside the game (bugs, videos, artworks, cosplays, reports, promotions etc.)

    I should mention because @Fibijean didn't.

Selling your account in any platform Dead by Daylight is on is grounds for that account to be terminated by the platform owner. So if you want to pay thousands of dollars for the risk of that account also going away, go ahead. It'll be a very stupid purchase but I'm sure there will be someone who would do that.
