The same disappointment like when Stranger Things hit the light of day. I really hoped they will get some "ICONIC" character. A game crossover is far away from an "ICONIC" horror character for me.
I'm sorry but have you been living under a rock? To a lot of Horror Video Game fans, Pyramid Head is on the top of the Iconic list

It's an entirely different story when they hype it up to be the most iconic killer they have released. It's just simply false and people deserve to be disappointed, objectively. I'm of course not saying people can't have their own opinions, but the PR was off point for this chapter.
A lot of peopel who love Horror would love Horror Games.
So of course they will be hyping up SILENT FREAKING HILL OF ALL THINGS.
It's one of the most iconic horror franchises to date.

Also i felt resident evil was a little more iconic in game format. Just my opinion.
Resident Evil was more Survival Horror, whilst Silent Hill was more genuine horror.

The survivor perk that blocks gens will never be used. The other two more than likely will be used in certain builds. The killer's mini mori or final judgement will receive a nerf before it hits the live servers. Killers perks will end up being tossed to the side like survivor unless it is a certain build
I honestly think the last perk that blocks gens is going to be used against Pop goes the Weasel.

TF2 is a terrible example, as Valve has made it quite clear that they don't care about it.
They don't but the community do, which is why I said custom servers.
PAYDAY 2 has an average of 100-120 ms and their connection is peer to peer. And that worked out fine for them.
Also you're implying DBD is competitive, it's not.

"Yeah man we totally did work beforehand" sweating
They STILL haven't fixed the following bugs that only showed up when dedicated servers came out:
- Grabs work maybe 5% of the time
- Lunges randomly lock you in place instead of lunging, wasting a swing and giving the survivor distance
- Sometimes when you "grab" a survivor, the game catastrophically shits itself and locks you into the carry position, rendering the survivor in question invisible and preventing you from catching anybody else. Even if you DO down somebody, the game wont let you pick them up, and you can't drop or hook the ghost
And that's ignoring the fact that I have yet to see a game with under 60ms ping. That's nearly a full second of latency, it's no wonder bullshit hits are so prevalent
.... Are you seriously suggesting every game has to have under 60ms of ping latency for every single player for it to be playable?
Even if you have a great internet connection, all of that depends on your location and the location of the servers. They obviously can't host the server in every single country/city on Earth, so they host them on locations that are close to densely populated areas like Sydney or Taiwan. Even in games like TF2, the lowest amount of latency I've ever gotten was around 100ms. With Custom Servers specifically hosted in my country. And that's still playable.
The reason BS hits are prevalent is because of how the game justifies hits. It's always Killer-sided so if you are hit on the Killer's side, it will most likely hit on you. That's why hitting through pallets is a thing. On the Killer's side, they lunged through the pallet, but on the split second you dropped it, you were already hit. Except you will of course still drop the pallet on top of the Killer because the animation already played out.
And no, they can't just change it so Killers don't have priority when it comes to hit registration. That would indirectly make Killers like Huntress and Deathslinger unplayable because they rely on shooting their projectiles onto visible targets. And it would be frustrating to play them if their projectile just whiffed pass through a Survivor because the Survivor wasn't where they were supposed to be on their screen.
-
You can try to walk back if they are getting too close to you making you lose them from your FOV. And make sure you try to keep the Survivor in the middle of your screen.

DBD does not innovate much... you should not expect:
- new game modes
- devotion rewards
- new items
- new objectives
Actually they are planning on adding Prestige Rewards, so they would be adding Devotion Rewards down the line.
Except, those rewards won't be a 5th Perk Slot.
-
Oh my god thanks for reminding me of the Anniversary Cakes.
I feel better knowing I saved up a MIllion Bloodpoints now. I was gonna use that to prestige Pig.
-
Piggu <3
I don't know why but the way Pig plays just feels so much fun.
-
Actually I've noticed that a while ago, I just didn't report it because it wasn't exactly an exploit since both sides can easily get on top of the car.
-
I wouldn't say I am greedy with Pallets, but I have noticed that I tend to drop pallets like crazy if I am being chased by a ranged Killer like Huntress or Deathslinger.
God Pallet is not to be touched though, unless you're forced to. Tank the hit for the God Pallet, do not touch it.
-
If you honestly think Bugs will stop people from having fun in games when new content are being added, then you obviously have never played a Bethesda game.
Or a game by Overkill.
Or a game by Ubisoft.
Or... ANY major game company.
Bugs will be prevelant in every game ever, the only reason we notice bugs more often in DBD is because we play it everyday. It's a PVP Live Service game akin to Fortnite or Apex Legends. Not saying they're the same, but they both have similar pulls to them. We're playing against other players and we like to see new things to face. Whether as a Killer or as a Survivor. Because without updates, this game can get stale really quickly.
Which is why the Challenges from the Archives are a huge welcome, because they keep giving us something to do. Same with the grind for the Rift.
I'm even giving myself stuff to do by making every character I own Prestige 3-50, and that will take a while and a whole heck of a lot of grinding.
But I do it because it keeps giving me something new to do, and I love this game enough to justify that.

Well yeah...the 'The' was a bit silly. But that's the issue with making up aliases for licensed killers, they need that 'The' 😁
I'm honestly just peeved they didn't call him 'The Ghostface'.
Why did they have to add a Space between GHOST and FACE?
It makes it look so awkward.
-
@Dr_Loomis said:
I think they should do away with the nickname feature when adding licensed killers. It can be awkward making up appropriate monikers.
But saying that, it is cool if you think the killers are 'baptized' when they become affiliated with the Entity. Their new title connects to their extention of lore.
'The Ghost Face'

Maybe it's because I've played a ton of Fallout 4, but I don't find the Killer's FOV to be much of an issue for me. That said, I can understand why some people might have motion sickness with the jank FOV that DBD has for both Survivor & Killer (For me it's especially uncomfortable with Survivor because you always feel like you're too close to your character).
I don't think adjustable FOV sliders is the way to go though, even though accessibility options are nice, it would remove a ton of the techs and jukes that Survivors have at their disposal completely if Killers were to be able to freely change their FOV. One of the most coveted perks for Nurse is Shadowborn, and for good reason. And I wouldn't want to think about the Nurse having a free perk slot open because she maxed out her FOV settings rather than using Shadowborn.

Nope you are wrong. I just watched a broadcast from otzdarva and true while both were playing Killer and payed attention to the loading screen. The tips for the Killer are not always shown.
Well yeah, you won't need tips for playing that Killer if you've played them enough. Same goes with Survivors who go against that Killer multiple times.
-
Definitely Dead Hard.
The guaranteed distance as well as possibly dodging a hit from the Killer is definitely more worth it than Sprint Burst which is just a quick headstart which the Killer can force you to waste anyways by baiting it.
With Dead Hard you know when you want to use it, and even if the Killer is baiting it you can still get to a Window/Pallet with it.
It's objectively the best Exhaustion Perk in the game, imo (when it works)

I get the fantasy they have, Im talking in reality one side is already able to taunt and the other isnt
Technically the Killers can already taunt by bobbing their head up and down and smacking them on the hook. They just can't officially emote with tapping 1 or 2.
-
@Dead_by_Gadfly said:

Yeah but they use those to taunt. Along with crouching. Its stupid all killers get is a smack when someones been hooked.
Which again, is something the devs don't want to encourage to do.
Giving the Killers an emote to taunt is basically the same thing.
-
I mean I think it would just encourage taunting on the Killer's part. Which is something the devs has said they don't want to add with emotes. That's why Survivors only has 2 emotes, and they're just to point and to follow.
-
You won't get the Killer tooltip after facing them like 5-10 times. It's mainly there to help Survivors who haven't faced that Killer before.
-
No.
-
You mean like a "Quick Play" feature? I wouldn't know how that would work considering how Matchmaking is right now.
-
I honestly don't mind either way. If I notice someone uses a Key as a Killer, I'll kick them out of the game first. Especially if they also bring someone who brought a Map into the game.
As for Moris, I don't mind them either. I would like them to only activate when the Killer has hooked everyone at least once, but I like the challenge as a Survivor.
-
I noticed the map where I have fun the most are in Autohaven Wreckers. Mainly because of the tiles I guess.

Helps me not get motion sick. Good enough for that alone for me.
I guess if you get easily motion sick, Shadowborn helps a lot
I've just been playing DBD for a while that the FOV doesn't bother me anymore. Then again I played DBD after playing a lot of Fallout 4 and the FOV there is much more dreadful than DBD

Yeah, not really when the first hit is free though. I've tried it on Spirit and I can't remember if I have on Trapper, but I'm not a huge fan.
I just prefer stealth for the first hit, then winning a chase however I can. STBFL doesn't play a huge part in that playstyle, especially when a majority of my perks are also geared towards tracking.
That's fair enough I suppose, I prefer to be quick and efficient with my chases and STBFL helps a lot with that. I'm personally not much of a stealth kind of person unless I am specifically playing a Stealth killer like Ghostface or Myers. I prefer to immediately get back into the chase right after hooking someone.
-
Used to be PAYDAY 2, but right now it's Minecraft. Modded Minecraft to be exact.
Other than that, I compose music or draw stuff to cool down if I get frustrated.
-
@PigMainClaudette said:
Depends on the killer for Monitor. STBFL is also very situational, like say if you have an alternate attack method or find the obsession super quickly. Never used Shadowborn and don't plan to honestly. I have more important perks to equip in their place.
Ideally, you would want to down your Obsession first with STBFL. But if you don't find them first, just injuring them whenever you see them can still make them waste their time healing while you keep most of your stacks intact.
I honestly don't think STBFL is that situational, because you will be getting stacks anyways. And there is a higher chance for you to not be chasing your obsession. Just having 4 stacks already can make a pretty noticable difference in how fast you're downing survivors.

Imagine being that salty when facing a Spirit with Brown Add-ons and non-meta perks.

Well, escapes through the gates I mean (wish they'd change the "open gate as X" rituals to that too).
While restricting it behind emblems would help it to reward survivors who solidly contributed (often with a rough personal perk build), keep in mind that the emblem requirement is exactly what is currently frustrating killers about their own adept challenges.
I really do think the best systems for both are the original ones they had:
-Survivors should escape (through the gates, though it was never a strict requirement)
-Killers sacrifice all survivors.
Maybe rather than focusing on the adept achievements themselves, you could promote this "Adept Mode" of yours as a repeatable challenge that survivors or killers could do to earn post-match BP bonuses (maybe like a BP bonus based on each emblem they earn: 0% for nothing, 10% for Bronze, 15% for Silver, 20% for gold, 25% for Iridescent)?
That would be a rather interesting change, yes. I've been trying to get Pig's adept myself and I find her still rather fun even with just her 3 perks, so I could see it being a thing.
I do want them to create the Adept Achievements to be equally as challenging for both sides though, which is why I proposed those restrictions onto it.
-
@APoipleTurtle said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1301600#Comment_1301600
They already have such a restriction: not getting hooked thrice. I don't think hooks are ever going to be a good way to meter this challenge. Relies far too heavily on the actions of both the killer and your teammates and might feel as though it boils down to luck more than skill.
If you wanted to increase the challenge in what I think is a fair manner, the best way would be to limit these achievements to only being rewarded on escapes though the exit gates. If gates were an option, it means that survivors had to play well enough to finish the gens, open the gates (sometimes dodge NOED or Rancor), and escape.
Yes survivors could be "carried" by better teammates to escape this way anyway, but that's kind of the point: they are a team. At least a gate-escape would mean that the adept player either contributed enough to help escape or had some REALLY good helpers. Or that the killer let them go, but that usually becomes a hatch escape instead.
Fair enough.
I guess there could be a separate scoring system in the background for Survivors, so they wouldn't just be hiding all game or just be doing gens all game without helping out with the Killer. Just to make sure they are actively helping out in the game. Like maybe have it so they have to achieve Gold Emblems on every category, or maybe that would be too restrictive?
But it's probably best to restrict it to just opening the gates, rather than making it turn into a hatch escape then.
