The thing about freddy is you don't need to be a master to play him well and maybe beat a good team. So your more likely to get tougher games from a bad freddy than a bad doctor, oni or Bubba.

True, his power is relatively simple. But it's also nothing special. Slowdown and fake pallets are something other killers could do like Clown and Doc (which btw, imo Clown is rather underrated). The only thing that is special about his power is his ability to teleport, which is strong until you reach the endgame which means you're kinda screwed. Because all gens would've been done by then.

It's just a matter of whether or not the Killer is good at chases because he is truly an M1 Killer.

I've seen the "boring" excuse get brought up for several killers after I steamroll a team with them. Alot of people said it when I was playing and practicing Deathslinger, I've had ppl say it against Bubba (told me to use a killer that takes skill after I 4ked the team with only 1 gen done. Multiple hooks in each), Ive had ppl say I was using boring perks on my Legion since I used slowdown perks even though the game itself was under 10 minutes.

Gotta love when people tell you to use a Killer that takes skill when playing as BUBBA.

Yea that's pretty much all true. The dream pallets I'd never use unless I'm using a map offering or I think I'm facing a bad team. Getting hawkins with dream pallets is horrible. You can only place one dream pallet on the whole map before any are destroyed (it's the one below the stairs, near basement spawn).

When I play freddy I'd probably just use the slowdown add-ons because they really are the only useful add-ons for me. The teleporting ones are ok but I don't find them that useful. I usually only teleport if I have pop or I'm using discordance.

I also think the ultra rares are pretty meh. Ones good for tunneling and the other is only good against survivors who will intentionally miss skill checks.

Pill Bottle I like and Class photo has some synergy with Dead Man's Switch. The blindness one is ok but definitely not worth taking over the Pill Bottle or slowdown add-ons.

I'm probably the only person who actually doesn't find him boring to face lol

I don't find him boring to face either, in fact I am sad I don't face him more often, because lately my best and more intense matches has been against Freddy. No other Killer has been consistently terrifying as him to face.

Yep, that's right. Usually the survivor will crouch down and approach the Pig, who then crouches in turn to allow their snoot to be booped. Some Pigs will even "snort" by spamming the ambush attack button to indicate that they're happy to be booped. The Pig in my match was so pleased that she came and helped us with the generators 😆

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/C8AA9Q0W8M65/20200602232245-1.jpg

That was such a nice game, it's always nice to find a Pig like that.

  • Those numbers are way WAY too high.

Everyone would just be a Feng Min main because 6% vaulting speed is ludicrous.

Just to give you an idea, Resicilience which also increases vaulting speed increases it by 9% on Tier 3, while Spine Chill increases it by 6% on Tier 3.

  • @CashelP14 said:

I don't think he needs a nerf. He isn't as op as people would like to think. He isn't S tier and is probably the 5th best killer in the game since imo his add-ons are pretty bad.

To be honest, he suffers the most from "We-can't-think-of-anything-interesting-itus"

He has 4 Add-ons that are worthless in an actual game, that being the Blindness and Hemmoraging add-ons.

He has 3 Add-ons that are very situational, and won't work well especially in high ranks. I'm talking about the Missed Skill-check add-ons.

He has a useless BP Add-ons which is basically just a meme add-on and BHVR adds them in for god knows what reason.

He has 3 Add-ons that basically does the same thing, Dream Pallets, the only difference is that there is now aura reading. Ooooooooh scawwwyyy.

And finally he has one Add-on that prevents him from doing his most common tactic to pressure gens, faking teleports.

So that is a total of 12 Add-ons that no normal Freddy main would take into the game. Can you guess what the other add-ons he will take? Correct! It's the one that slows everyone down if they are asleep and the one that makes his teleportation regenerate faster.

As well as 3 add-ons that gives him a ton of pressure from the start or keep one survivor pressured forever OR make him appear closer than he normally would.

So he has 9 useful add-ons and 12 useless ones. No wonder Freddy doesn't have much variety when it comes to his builds because his add-ons literally restrict him to one playstyle if he wants to be played as optimally as possible.

  • @Squirrel_Thicc said:

I find playing against legion to be boring every single time. Who enjoys mending for the whole match?

And that's totally fair. It only becomes invalid in my opinion, when you use that as grounds to nerf or change him. You can create an argument on how to make him more fun, but it has to still be fun for the Killer and it shouldn't hinder their ability to be able to kill survivors if the player using them is good enough.

What they need to do with Freddy is reduce the slowdown in certain perks, or switch the base power to dreams pallets and add-on power with snares.

I dont want him to be nerfed that hard.

Maybe they just need to rework the rope add-ons, because while yes it only adds 9 seconds, combine that with the Forever Freddy build and it adds up a lot.

    Very fun game.....

I think people can agree that stacking slowdown perks on top of each other is a valid complaint against Freddy. No one likes facing Forever Freddy's, I don't even think my brother would defend that build because it's basically the same as Iridescent Head + Infantry Belt with NOED, Iron Maiden, Whispers and Pop.

  • @PrettyFaceKate said:

By that logic, saying that old moonwalking Legion was boring was just an excuse, a cop out. I don't think you could convince anybody of that one.

Saying that something is boring is an opinion. There a handful of killers in this game that I find boring to play as even if they're strong and I win handily. There are a handful of killers that I find boring to play against even if, again, I normally win with a semi-decent team. Where's the excuse when winning? Where's the cop out?

Some people could try to use boring as an excuse, sure. However, saying that in general boring=excuse, that's really an excuse to close-mindedly discard an argument.

Moonwalking Legion was an ACTUAL Exploit and had to be changed, because there was literally nothing you can do against that.

What I am trying to say is this, you shouldnt change something because it's "boring", even if a lot of the community says the same thing.

Balance wise you want to create something that isn't overpowered, but also doesn't feel unplayable to use. It also still needs to be fun for someone to play even if using that thing doesnt fit everyone or the majority's playstyle.

  • @ScottJund said:

I don't think the base premise of "Saying boring is an excuse" even makes sense. An excuse for what? Losing? You can win and still be extremely bored. If you're bored, you're bored.

Basically yeah, what Fibijean and SirCracken has said. I just think if you're going to ask for changes, out of all the possible reasons you could come up with, that thing being "boring" to go up against is not a valid reason to change said thing. Certain playstyles (and I mean for both sides) can be boring for some, but it also can be fun for others too.

But it has gotten to the point where in this forum alone, I've seen people doubt others why they find certain playstyles fun to go up against. Like SERIOUSLY questioning them. And that's why I made this thread, because fun is subjective, and to treat your own bored experience as a natural fact is just wrong. Does something need to be changed so that one thing is more universally fun for everyone? Yeah, definitely. But saying that it needs to be changed because you yourself are bored of facing them is just plain wrong.

  • @Hag.is.Dtier said:

Yeah you can start by bringing back old Freddy.

    RIP Fedora man

Honestly I wouldn't even mind that. Have him be able to be played as either old Freddy or reworked Freddy at the same time. Maybe through an add-on. It would add alot more variety when facing him. Maybe have them be combined together as a compromise.

I resent that remark. Rank 4 full-perk-library Claudette here, who never BMs, doesn't run Self-Care or Urban Evasion, and doesn't spend the game hiding like a potato.

    I said people.

    Not you specifically.

"A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky dangerous animals and you know it."

  • I love playing against him, my most intense matches come from Freddy games.

  • Just this honestly, it gets tiring having to grind for BBQ everytime you prestige a character. Even just having Rank 1 on BBQ would be nice and it would help a lot with the grind when I play Killers I have fun playing, but I play intermittently because they don't have BBQ.

  • Congratulations! It's more impressive you got it solo because Solo Teammates are quite literally the devil sometimes.

  • Ah, gotta love those kinds of people. I also often get those "boring" comments as well. But hey, when you play to win, the other side is most likely not going to have fun.

  • Oh boy, of course it was the Claudette that BMed. I wish people would stop being a crouching stereotype with her and actually get good.

  • I hate Sanctum of Wrath either way and I find myself getting fun games in Yamaoka Estate as Killer so.

I mean who's in is right mind would pick Hangman trick or Slippery Meat, they're TOO situationnal compared to "meta" perks you're sure to use at least once per game.

Thats the problem of many perks, certain has a great use every game, and MANY, MANY, others are way too situationnal or has to many requirements to put to good use (hello Ash perks !) or even has better counterparts (Hi Steve perks). or even just not really useful (wassup PH perks).

Who would pick Babysitter instead of borrowed time, Calm spirit over Iron will or spine chill over premonition. they're just better perks who has the same purpose.

I think you mixed up Premonition and Spine Chill.

I always thought it was 25%, is it only 20? Damn it feels like a lot longer when trying to heal someone

Don't @ me anymore, this thread is beyond stupidity.

    No, it literally is Meta.

Sloppy slows down healing by 20%, which discourages survivors healing by themselves and rather heal with others.

Sloppy and STBFL are borderline meta for killer, though. : P

    No, they're actually meta.

  • @Raven014 said:

Well, PH’s mere existence does this for you. Most meta perks have bad synergy/don’t work with him. DS, BT, Unbreakable, and Adrenaline are all poor choices against him, and Pop and BBQ don’t work with his cages.

His release is going to change the survivor meta a lot, since guaranteed perks don't always work anymore, since he ignores all of their favoirites. That is frankly a good thing.

But he is only one Killer. You're more than likely to still gamble using those perks anyways because he isn't exactly going to be the most common Killer you find.

Killers shouldn't be designed to compete with hardcore SWF, because then the solo survivor community would be miserable. That's a terrible logic to have. Unless they do decide to buff solo survivors, but until then that's a terrible idea. Also, I don't mind a dream pallet Freddy. Dream snares aren't the end of the world either, until it's added on top everything he is capable of. If a Freddy spams them, it doesn't neccessarily mean he is bad at TL walls. It just means he knows how to force a pallet out of you if you don't want to go down right away. And Freddy is a good example of what killers should be, but maybe a little too much. His kill rate was also around 80% based on the devs data (which shouldn't be a sole basis on judging him, but it definitely shows that he might be a bit too strong in some cases).

I'm not saying nerf him into the ground, but find a way to not make every Freddy nearly identical in playstyle. Yes he is a noob stomper, but he basically seems to be a solo stomper as well. And hey I'm by no means a perfect survivor, but I consider myself good enough one overall. And the only killer I ever struggle this hard against is Freddy. Why? Because the solo experience against him is atrocious. Yes I can blame my teammates, but at the same time they aren't on comms & keeping everyone informed like a SWF. So you can't just entirely blame solos for having a tough time against him.

Hold on, 80%? Where did you get that number from? Last I checked he was around 60-70% with his kill rate. Which is where most Killers are at the moment.

And honestly, everytime I play Survivor I always expect my teammate to pull my weight, if I lose, it's usually because a teammate did something such a misplay that I would resent them more than the actual Killer.

No seriously, the amount of times I've been unhooked in front of the Killer WITHOUT BT is absurd, maybe it's just a region thing but there are definitely far more potatoes than actually skilled players in Red Ranks in the WA region. I honestly think if Survivor skill matches what rank they actually get, Freddy's Kill rates would be far far lower.

Also, the issue with the lack of variety in playstyles is less on Freddy himself and more surrounding the meta perks he uses. There's not much that synergizes with his teleport. There's Dead Man's Switch, which gives him a ton of value if he hooks the obsession, but it's still not a good enough perk to run consistently during a game. There's Ruin and Surveillance, so he knows if faking his teleport worked or not. But again, there is not much else.

Other Killers definitely has more perk variety, but Freddy's power comes from him teleportation, not his snares, not even his pallets, not even the Dream World. So what do you do when your strongest power also has the longest cooldown? You synergize them with perks that lets you know where Survivors are, alongside another perk that incredibly regresses any progress they may have made. That's why Pop and BBQ works so well on him, on Billy, and even on Demo. Except Billy has more synergy with his perks, he can eat through loops so Endurance and Spirit Fury are good picks for him, Freddy doesn't want to always break pallets. Demo has STBFL, which combines with his Shred can have him save stacks while downing his obsession.

If there were more perks that synergizes with Freddy's teleport, like maybe a Perk that makes it so that he becomes Undetectable to awake Survivors, teleport to another generator, and get the drop on Survivors working on a nearby generator, that could possibly work (hint hint, nudge nudge, Trail of Torment)

I'm struggling to actually find other perks that compliments his powers more, that's just how little perk variety Freddy has, which again, is not a problem with Freddy, it's a problem with the perks that he uses. Most perks work well with a killer that always has constant high mobility or can teleport from anywhere around the map. Make Your Choice works well with Demo and Hag because their teleports aren't restricted to Generators, you also don't want to run perks like Fire Up because you want Generators to stay up, that's how you teleport from one end of the map to the other, maybe Tinkerer is a good pick? But that assumes you have your teleport ready by the time a generator almost gets done and I don't think that always happens especially if you use your teleport often.

See what I'm talking about here? It's not Freddy that's the problem. It's the perks. The "ever-changing" meta never changes. And even if you try to experiment with new perks and combos, new add-ons and diddly diddly di. It just makes the most sense to use the most powerful combo you have at your disposal.

That's why every Freddy runs Pop. Good, Bad, Terrible. Doesn't matter. Because that is the one perk that synergizes well with his power. but at least, that makes his strategy very predictable. I always pride myself in escaping against him especially if he uses Pop since that basically means I won against him with his strongest perk loadout he could possibly have.

I agree with that, but you should be able to do SOMETHING rather than being a sitting duck, or a running one.

I think that the game is in a spot where it needs clarity on where we are going.

A survivor being able to 1v1 a killer for a long time is absurd, but at the same time a killer that removes all your defences and your possibility of stalling is also absurd.

As a survivor I need to have some hope that my actions count for something, and a as killer I need the certainty I can end chase quickly BUT without completely annihilating all that a survivor can do.

Pallet looping for ages is really stupid and needs to go, but survivors need some sort of counterplay to gain time for their team

I can agree with that, though, I personally think strong add-ons (not to the extent of Iri Head by the way) should stay. I don't mind seeing this Doc combo being played as a Survivor mainly because I adore matches where the deck is stacked against me and the only way to win is if my team pulls their weight alongside me. Those games are always fun in my eyes.

If the Killer knows what they are doing, I expect my team to both help me out during the chase and work on their objective at the same time. It can make those seemingly unwinnable games feel like there's more hope at the end of it.

I'm not on the balance team so my opinion definitely isn't going to hold much sway, but I would be more in favour of Doctor basically slowing down Survivor actions more than just outright stopping them in their tracks. It could still have the Doctor put some hits in, but if the Survivor is fast enough they can barely miss a hit from the Doctor.

Then again I used to main Doc, so that wouldn't really be much of a problem to me anyways, most people already drop pallets early especially when facing Docs.

  • @BloodMoneyMerc said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1322464#Comment_1322464

At least a new meta will be refreshing. It will also fix how common these metas are. The pick rate of some of these meta perks is astronomical compared to most perks, which isn't a healthy sign.

You say that now, but you probably won't say that when the new meta will be just the exact same as before. People will always find a way to play every Killer as strong as possible and play Survivor as optimally as possible.

  • @Jasonisanicefella said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1322465#Comment_1322465

So if my skill as a survivor matches the killer's skill, there is still nothing I can do about it because the killer is broken.

    Don't you think that's a bit unfair?

I agree that eventually the killer needs to win the chase, but like this you are simply powerless.

Personally I don't think so, it's a 1v4, if you're evenly skilled, it's only a matter of time before the Killer catches onto you.

  • @Jasonisanicefella said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1322458#Comment_1322458

The big problem, like Monto pinpoints, is the lack of counterplay. (I am also a big fan of Monto!)

If you keep the optimal path in a loop you get shocked and you can't throw the pallet or vault, if you try to dodge you move away from the optimal path and the killer with 115% speed is on you before you can reach the pallet or the window.

If the doctor is competent this is a damned if you do and damned if you don't situation, not fun.

If the Doc is competent and they know what to do, then good for them, they deserve that kill. Especially with an optimal build like that.

  • They can't just nerf meta perks, because then new meta perks will pop up.

There will ALWAYS be a meta. It's just on how much variety there is to that Meta that is the question.

  • @BloodMoneyMerc said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1321705#Comment_1321705

Literally 2 different things. Football requires skill & talent. Freddy requires basic knowledge of his abilities & hoping you aren't up against an extremely efficient SWF. Literally his best counter is a gen rushing SWF, so doesn't that say something about him?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1321864#Comment_1321864

His snares can be spammed & stack in slowing you. So your point that they aren't strong is invalid. Demo with STBFL is strong, but that also makes up for the fact that he isn't the strongest killer (while Freddy is strong). Doctor actually takes skill to prevent survivors from using pallets/windows because if he mistimes it the survivor still gets it. Clown literally has one power that is just a weaker version of one of Freddy's abilities (Clown has to reload & only gets so many bottles at base, & has to hope the gas actually works since it won't register a slowdown sometimes). By your logic, Clown is just a small percent of Freddy (Freddy gains additional buffs from his addons, from his Oblivious status, has a teleport, forces survivors to look for ways to wake up, has a flickering model when out of range, & can mindgame with pallets & teleports).

If a Freddy is spamming snares, you already know what his weakness is. T&L Wall Loops. A snare spamming Freddy isn't a good one and if you let him get the drop on you, that's entirely your fault.

When I said Freddy is how all Killers should be, I mean it.

I'm not asking every Killer to require thousands of hours to master, I'm asking every Kiler to be strong enough no matter who plays them.

Even if I go up against a God Tier Nurse, I don't feel like I am under constant threat because she still only has to focus on one Survivor at a time, same with Spirit, same with Billy.

That pressure is always on top of you when you face Killers like Freddy, Pig (who actually knows how to conserve her RBTs), Plague and Doctor.

You know why Freddy's kill rates are above 60%? (Which by the way, you should NEVER extrapolate your arguments from the dev's statistics, they themselves have said as much), it's because he is a noob stomper. The same way Hag is. The same way Hillbilly is. Against a competent team, even the most competent Freddy players will suffer because of how his power works. If he uses Pallets, he cannot use them in loops that has none of them, if he uses snares, he can only use them in loops that are straightforward and it has to be short and medium sized.

And we all know what the average DBD player is like, I mean come on, I'm pretty sure people have complained more about their teammates than any particular Killer in the game. The Killer that kills you the most is not Freddy, it's not Nurse, it's not Spirit, nor Doctor, none of them. It's your teammates.

If his best counter is a Gen Rushing SWF, THEN GOOD, most Killers should be like that. They need to force the Survivors to either complete their objectives quickly, or force them to be good enough to waste the killer's time for long enough. That's why people have been asking the devs to buff Solos to SWF level and buff the killers accordingly. Freddy, Doctor and even Pyramid Head are them trying to find that perfect balance of a SWF's power and a Killer's power.

I've played enough Killer and Survivor matches to know that the majority of Survivor Players do not deserve to be in Rank 1, they do not even deserve being in Purple Ranks or even Green Ranks. I keep seeing the same mistakes done over and over and over again, it gets especially frustrating whenever I play as a Survivor and my objective is to win, yet my teammates can't even hit a skillcheck to save their lives. This is especially prevelent on players who always run the same 4 perks over and over again because they think it'll give them an easy win, just because of how Meta they are.

The amount of games I had where not a single gen gets done, or only 1 gets done before it snowballs into anarchy is also staggering. I should not be winning this many games without a single generator getting done. It should literally be impossible if I was being teamed up against a team that is of the same skill level as me. But thanks to Matchmaking, that isn't exactly the case, is it?

Thank god for the MMR change, because at least by then we can see more accurate kill rates. Because right now rank means nothing, and if a Killer is a noob stomper (and is easily accessible), they will obviously have higher kill rates than other killers.

Also, I'll just say this again somewhere in here, but "Fun" is never a reason to nerf something. Fun is subjective. Everyone has fun with different things. Just because you don't find something fun, or boring, to play as OR against, doesn't mean others don't find that thing fun. And to nerf something not because it's strong, but because it's "boring" is such a silly concept that I can't even begin to understand where that sort of thinking makes any kind of logical sense.

Tl;Dr, you're probably not as good as you think you are, Freddy is easily counterable and is one of the only Killers who actually poses a constant threat throughout the whole match. Not just when he is chasing you. Every killer should feel like that, and I'm glad the devs agree if we're going by how they initially designed Pyramid Head.

I don't think Pop needs to be changed though, I think it's fine as is. As long as the meta is unshaken, Pop will always be used instead of other perks because of how consistent it is.

Honestly if you don't run DS you're crazy; that's all there is too it.

I can't count how many Survivors survive solely because their DS lasts long enough to protect them when they're repairing an unsafe generator or save another Survivor in my face. And I usually keep a good idea of who of I've hooked and how long I need to slug them. But the times I don't pay off extremely well for the Survivors.

It's just such a strong and helpful perk that you should always bring it every game. Heck, even if you don't/never get to use it, the mere threat of it can be enough to give you a tactical edge.

Also I don't get the "I wanna use other perks" complaints. It's one perk out of your four perk slots. You can run a fun build with DS. I almost always run Wake Up! or Spine Chill as Survivor and still find that two perk slots free leaves plenty room for silly builds and meme stuff.

Sometimes I bring it as insurance to have the Obsession Claws around a Survivor for the Killer to slug for 60 seconds giving me a chance to save whoever gets unhooked and downed again.

DS really is one of those perks that has more uses than it's description says.

LOL, I ONLY play multi-player games...exclusively PC for the last 12 years.

There's nothing hard to understand about what you're saying. There's a difference between comprehension and agreement. I can comprehend your point, I just believe it's wrong and that your particular stance does nothing but breed more toxicity into this game. Something I would very much like to see reduced for everyone.

I said I cannot FATHOM why someone would want to 'win' a match over someone else by effectively not challenging them at all. There is a huge difference between a quick slug to slow down a match, which doesn't take a person immediately out of the game with no recourse on their end, or using a flashlight to save a teammate, which actually requires some variety of skill and timing to accomplish, and using tunneling to immediately incapacitate and remove someone from a match beyond their control. Killing a wounded baby deer does not make you a great and powerful hunter.

I have no problem with people playing to win. I have a problem with people using insanely cheap and skill-less tactics against people with little to no recourse or control over any aspect of the situation. Especially when it is such a rampant issue.

I think anyone who plays this game at a high level understands why slugging can be an effective tactic if used correctly, but also detrimental for the Killer if they just randomly slug all game. Same with camping, if used sparingly and used in a way that's smart, it can turn the tide of the match really fast but if the Killer wastes too much time slugging, the team can just heal their teammates back up and you lose a hook state you normally would've gotten if you just went and hooked them.

Being Downed is the same as being "hooked" to me, and you only lose a hook state if the Killer decides to hook you. You've lost the chase, and now you're incapacitated as a result. That's what being downed means.

There's nothing cheap at using tactics that works. You know what's cheap? Using add-on combos that are actually broken like Iridescent Head + Infantry Belt, or Mother-Daughter Ring + Yakuyoke Amulet. They can make the game for the Killer absurdly easy, same with the combo of Decisive Strike + Unbreakable, there's only so many ways the Killer can counter that. Either by picking them up and having the Survivors use their DS, or camping them for 60 seconds which is something you do NOT want to do as a Killer.

As long as it is within the boundaries of the game, you're allowed to do as you please. The objective is merely to Kill the Survivors, and as a Killer, you have to use everything at your disposal. Do you think I find it fun to go against Trapper multiple games in a row? No, I don't. I think his traps are BS, I don't like finding myself downed just because the Trapper accurately predicted where I was going to go ages before I go there. Do I complain about him, saying he is unfair to players like me who play the game for the chase? Hell no.

Complaining about Killers doing what Killers do to win is why the community makes fun of the "Survivors Rulebook for Killers". The only "Golden Rule" that anyone has to follow is the one designed by the developers, and if to them, the tactics I've mentioned is fine, then it is fine. It's just another way for the Killer to get closer to winning the game while risking something in return (Not earning a hook state on a survivor they downed).

This has nothing to do with "Skill", because like I said, DBD is a casual game to it's core, but because of that, anyone who plays competitively can be seen as doing something "unfair" to people like you. Because the Killer can always do something, while as a Survivor, you will have downtime where you got nothing to do but wait because you failed at the chase.

I'm sure you think someone like Otz is a horrible person too then for using builds that helps him get hilarious results that may not even be fun for the Survivors? Or builds that gives the Killer the strongest chance possible at winning?

But hey, keep thinking playing optimally is toxic ;)

  • Still working on getting them done for Pig and Huntress.

Of course all you hear is entitlement. It's everyone's favorite word in this forum when anyone suggests that people show a modicum of consideration for other human beings. It is not, in fact, entitlement. I don't believe anyone in this game deserves special treatment. I think everyone in this game deserves fair treatment. And there is nothing fair about being tunneled to death.

I'm sorry you play a multiply player game with other actual people and choose to treat them like meaningless AI, because you cannot advance in a casual game's rank system without numbing yourself to the fact that you're actually interacting with other human beings who are in the game to have the same thing you are - fun. 🤷

Have you actually ever played in a multiplayer game? Like no, seriously, have you played any other multiplayer game before? In your life? I don't care what it is, any OTHER multiplayer game that has a competitive scene even if it is casual.

People understand that some players play to win, and that's fine, what's so hard to understand about that? Of course I know I am playing with real people, they're as real as you and me and I always treat them the same way I treat everyone else in a game, I treat them as opponents.

I will sabotage their ability to do objectives, whether I do that as a Survivor or Killer. I will purposefully use tactics that they may find annoying, whether that is by slugging or using flashlights to save a teammate from being hooked.

Just because you cannot FATHOM why someone would want to WIN in an ONLINE GAME, doesn't make what you say right.

  • While the idea is sound, I don't know how BHVR would implement this into the game. Plus some people prefer to spend their Iridescent Shards on perks they already own for the BP.

These aren't "my rules". I mean, I would love to take credit for the 'golden rule', but unfortunately it was around long before I was born.

Clearly not everyone thinks like I do, because people ruin matches I'm in every single day. That's pretty clear.

Tunneling is a choice. It can always be avoided. You may choose not to avoid it...but that's a conscious decision to punish that person. Maybe you're doing it because they were toxic to you...that's understandable. Clearly I don't like toxic people either. But unless it's that or end game, you shouldn't be tunneling people.

Gen rushing isn't comparable to tunneling at all. There are numerous ways to kill a survivor. There is 1 way to do a gen. Killers like to claim tunneling is a made up thing...except it has a very definable action that people in both camps recognize and validate. Gen rushing is literally just doing generators. That's it. Touching a generator at all. You can tunnel a survivor to death in the first 2 minutes of the game. You can't finish 5 gens in the first two minutes of the game. Tunneling completely incapacitates a survivor and removes their opportunity to earn BP or PIPs. Doing a gen does not remove anything from the Killer...instead of provides them something to destruct and a place to find their next victim. Not. Comparable.

Again, not my rules. Just average expectations of average people playing a game they also want to enjoy. And just so we're clear - my assertion that everyone should be able to play and enjoy the game is consistent between when I play Killer and when I play survivor. I don't camp/tunnel when I play Killer. If a Killer isn't have a good time in a match - I have no problem dying to help ensure they meet their daily/challenge and earn decent BP with a higher chance to at least safety PIP. This is not a one way expectation.

It boggles my ######### mind that you suggest people play a game in a fair way so that everyone can enjoy it and people actually refute that concept.

You say expectation, all I hear is entitlement.

You're not entitled to a fun game, the other side does not have that obligation to that for you. It's the same with Killers who feel helpless against Survivors who knows what they are doing, but they are not entitled for a pity Kill or a pity Sacrifice.

I'm sorry you think people wanting to win in an Online Multiplayer game that has Ranking is such a foreign concept to you.
