  • Right now I feel like I can’t play PH to his full potential because aim still grinding out his perks and working on my 30 cage trophy.

That being said, now that I’m back to rank 1 killer, I’m starting to really struggle with him. I think red rank survivors have mostly figured him out. I picked him up because of discussion that brought up some similar play styles between him and Deathslinger but I feel like Deathslinger has perks that could greatly benefit him and were picked up quickly by DbD streamers who made him viable.

For PH, I feel like many perks don’t synergise with him and the action of using cages at any point seems not worth. Hell, I’m honestly thinking taking the extra 5-10 seconds to hook isn’t so detrimental for a time save if I can proc an important perk to keep my pressure.

Hopefully after I get my trophy and a few more perks I can figure out the most optimal perks and strategy that works for me. I still like him, just not currently in red ranks with all these self imposed problems.

  • Not sure why people are responding seriously to his suggestion, he was just trying to exaggerate his feeling on the Billy Nerf by reversing the standpoint and showing how ridiculous it can seem.

I don’t have a foot in this fight since I don’t play Billy and I can’t really differentiate how drastic this change truly is. I feel like most opinions here are misguided or wrong because we dont have this many Billy Mains. Don’t get me wrong, you can form in opinion from information and limited experience and share it but If I wanna learn how to play Basketball, I’d sooner ask a basketball sports athlete over a fat ######### sports fan who watches the game every week...

  • That does sound amazingly fun and funny mechanic from the killers stand point.

Might wanna try to implement a small bonus or boost for being successful in the skill check or QTE. Just so survivors don’t feel it’s a dumb broken killer sided addition to the game.

  • Pretty sure half the comments will mention nurse. I’m not against the killer power but it’s no fun if you don’t describe what kind of killer would match this power.

  • Just pick any yandere girl and I’ll be terrified. I suspect she might come loaded with new obsession perks <_<

  • I see so many comments about people who play solo, or only rarely play swf, or swf tryhard is a minority, or why take away comms because we can still communicate with phones ect. ect.

yet the game will “die” if some killers attempt a dodge. I personally think more killers would attempt the SWF battle but they would be armed and ready for a good fight and not blindsided by SWF BS.

Honestly SWF don’t want you to know because then you’ll bring in your strongest killer/perks/strategy and that ‘gg ez’ wasn’t so easy after all~

  • At this point I don’t know if the game keeps breaking me or the people who play it, either way I usually stop playing after I hit level one. So many other amazing games to play~

  • I’m not reading any comments but the first, just wanna point out that anime has many killers who could very easily fit into this game. Your gunna ignore what could possibly a fun killer to play with an interesting power because...you don’t like the source? I’m sorry, I’ve seen more gruesome and scary ideas come from anime then I ever had from every day movies. I might be too scared to play this game if they added anime killers, luckily we just have er... clowns, big guys with chainsaws, a lil girl in a pig mask, and a limping old man.

Yeah your right, anime is to silly~

  • Cursed picture, ban him.

  • Certain survivors s shouldn’t be allowed to wear dark brown or black colors....

Just gunna leave this here and walk away from this topic xD

  • No matter what you do, you will eventually become accustomed to it, why bother? Even if it became a gore fest, after a 50 games or so, you won’t even pay attention to it asthetically, you would just take notice if it was impeding your gameplay or not~

  • I’m down for some Deathslinger buff but I main him and put a lot of hours into him and this buff is too strong. Survivors will literally have no chance and will feel no reward for dodging his shot. They earned the right to gain distance when he misses, and having an unlimited amount of bullets needs a setback, which is reloading.

ive seen other Deathslinger buff ideas that I like more but appreciate the topic~

  • It’s current year everybody!

Also, I like the Grind but I also get Grind Fatigue. Maybe if BHVR wants to get a lil more money they could let me spend 5 bucks to get double bp earned for a week. So like, it feel like I was using a 100% add on bonus every game. I don’t care if it stacks.

Er, the point was that as a killer you get the benefit of the perk without equipping it. That's a tier occupied by only DS currently.

I get you, but what your talking about is only true if killers use lightborn as much as survivors use DS. You don’t see survivors pre drop pallets even though spirit fury exists because it’s not used as often. If many killers used it though they would make that a meta. I don’t see enough killers who will use this to make survivors assume a killer will automatically switch to it if they see a flashlight. Probably default assume you will not have it unless you show in game that your still capable or could not be blinded.

That being said, I’m still heavily interested in lightborne.

  • I like Chucky, the Collector, and the Witch from the Left 4 Dead series~

  • God I hate when people run straight line. I can shoot wiggles and and loopers but those fearless straight line runners who don’t curve to the nearest loop or wiggle when I raise my gun, those people, I cannot catch them. >:(

  • Probably me, since I’m a nerfed version of Huntress, it only logical to nerf me down a lil more. Hell, I can still shoot my gun right now and that drives survivors crazy~

  • Prefer just the ability to drag their ass back over the pallet or window lol. He is hard to buff without feeling OP.

  • That’s a good eye, looks cool too~

    What did he do Again?

He was invisible to survivors unless he put you to sleep but you could still see his stomps and grass move when he was near you. Freddy would raise his hand and aim his power at you and if you were in line of sight then you would start to sleep.

This is the part that ppl took advantage of, because it took ‘time’ to fall asleep and until you were immersed in dreamland he couldn’t hit you. While in the process of falling asleep the survivors saw glimpses of Freddy blinking in and out.

While falling asleep (where Freddy cannot hurt you still) Survivors could still interact with Generators and pop them in his face before running, they could actually damage the gen and wake up fully, causing Freddy to put them back to sleep, they could be aroused back to wake by another survivor, open doors, ect ect. Smart survivors could exploit the ######### out of Freddy making him seem very weak in high level...

when they were asleep though, Freddy would see a glowing light blue survivor and if they stepped out of a certain zone, I think 32 mins, they would glow red. Basically Freddy would never lose you unless you woke up or you were just really really good and staying stealthy and close to him. Good survivors could lose Freddy and when he moved away to force you out of his zone and spot you, they could just book it and waste more time.

Much like Legion, you just didn’t stay together and you knocked out gens quickly. The issue, per usual, was low level play. Survivors didn’t understand why Freddy was always finding them, they didn’t understand how Freddy was just magically appearing next to them and they were too scared to work together and wake each other up. So the struggle was real for low rank and ‘lol ez’ in high ranks.

  • You should have four crowns...

This is the build I use currently.

    Hear me out:

Ghostface's primary strength is how good his is at ambushing Survivors suddenly. This makes him a Killer you do NOT want to be injured against. So if you hit a Survivor they are going to try to get healed ASAP. Now while you could use several perks to make that super slow for gen pressure, I'm instead using a single perk, forced penance, to completely shut down their attempts.

Because all I have to do is circle back to the injured Survivor, ambush the Healer, and then down the original Survivor and now I have a down and a full minute before the other Survivor can even ATTEMPT to heal.

In the meantime I activate Thrilling Tremors and now that Survivor can't hop on a gen either, at least not immediately. Surge then acts to maintain my momentum going, since you really can't be spending time Kicking gens, even with pop, and with Surge you can keep all the gens regressing without wasting time. Ghostface can proc Surge reliably so there is no need to gamble with Ruin instead.

Whispers then is to give me the information I need to find the Survivors I want to ambush with enough reliability to make the rest of the build work.

Something to note is that Forced Penance isn't as situational as it first seems. Deliberate body blocks trigger the perk yes, but just having an injured Survivor in the general area of the Survivor you hit is enough to proc the perk. This means it works on Survivors going for unhooks, Survivors leaving the hook after an unhook, Survivors that were repairing a gen with an injured Survivor also there, Survivors healing other Survivors, Survivors near other Survivors healing ect.

Plus with SWF being one of the biggest issues you face as Killer, Forced Penance helps me stop them from recovering after they go for wreckless saves, and since they can't reset afterwards I'm able to properly capitalize on their mistakes instead of being stuck trying to keep up with their medkits and coordinated double heals.

    I like your build

  • You nailed it. You can still grab for bonus 500 but no crown~ (For licensed characters)

I'd wait for about a week or 2 for people to learn how to play against him before I give my opinion on him.

    Well, it’s been 4 months...wanna share?

Also I didn’t think it warranted a new topic but I wanted to also thank the devs for the sick new 4th Anniversary costume. I love it.

Also, Deathslinger was the first killer I P3 and got every killer perk and all perks maxed out. I mean I P3 my original main Old Freddy but stop feeding him after his update so he never technically had all perks.

Still enjoying this game since his release, even if I can’t seem to figure out his window tech. </3

  • I approve of this message.

  • Im not hardcore with Pyramid head but I thought the cages were mostly a quick fix for dodging the DS, flashlight saves or pallet drops. Still plenty of benefits to me, but again I didn’t use him too much.

  • Okay. Well I guess now I understand the why, I just don’t agree with it. Thanks again~

  • I’m ps4, 80% each.

I'll be back with the awnser in a minute as to why they changed it. It was on the Q&A stream.

Great, I wouldn’t know where to look, appreciate the effort.

  • That does sound funny, not sure if I could duplicate the experience but it’s worth a try~

How is "hooking" part of the "dark side" of killers it's literally the only way to y'know...kill.

I mean...EGC and Tombstone I guess but whatever.

Sorry I meant slugging. Although I don’t care enough to edit it. (Yes I’m not saying it’s not a valid strategy, but leaving a bunch of ppl on the ground, not enjoying the game is dark~)

  • Well, from your post it seems like you don’t want to join the dark side of killers, so you probably don’t want to embrace hooking/camping/tunneling lifestyle. In that case your only option is to improve. How you do that is up to you, you can look at external sources and watch guides on how to recognize and run tiles (aka understanding loops) or you can go by trial by error and just play and eat salt till you accumulate the experience.

Basically, the final key to creating another good killer is building killer confidence. When you want to hover around a hook because it’s strategically your best option or you understood you were facing an altruistic team, then your on the right track. Staying with a hook or tunneling because you are afraid of losing what you just earned or afraid of letting every1 go is that lack of confidence I was talking about.

I struggled and failed for awhile too but when I bought Leatherface and unlocked BBQ n Chilli, I stopped trying to 4K and just started going for the 4 tokens. Once I had that, I’d try my best to kill be regardless of the outcome, I knew I was earning the most BP and that makes me feel good even if they all escape. Small victories that are easier to achieve will make the learning curve more bearable and you can periodically up your challenge until you can 4K every game. Maybe one day you’ll be good enough to start handicapping yourself to have a fun game lol.

anyway good luck, hope you can stick with being a killer. It’s not for the easily frustrated xD

  • He wants to play, just with less tryhards is what I got. New account or take a break and wait out a rank reset or two, is my suggestion.

You could also try changing your mindset or your goals. Of course it’s stressing to try and 4K every game or master being a killer, so why do it? I’ve been playing this game for years and I’ve gone through all the killer metamorphoses phases before hitting Zin.

Now you could moonwalk 360 flashlight blind me and I’d just shrug it off, or I could trap a not so stealthy survivor in a corner, shake my head slowly and disapprovingly before walking away. If you let survivors get to you personally or let their antics morally cripple you, then you lost no matter the outcome of the match~

  • Literally other end game perks in the game and just because End Game builds are not the Meta doesn’t mean it should be taken away. NOED, Bitter Murmur and Blood Warden are a great combo. I basically play -2 perks and either win and feel great for doing so with a small handicap or I lose all gens and still have a fighting chance to turn this around. NOED may be a crutch perk for baby killers but they always lean on something and whatever it is ppl cry till nerf and it changes to something else. Just stop, the perk isn’t broken and has easy counter.

  • @BigBrainMegMain said:

    No.

    Here's a DS nerf.

Go for the unhooker. Keep track on who's been unhooked. Count to 60. Go for someone else.

And before you give me "What if" situations, "WHAT IF you just went for someone else besides the person that was unhooked recently."

I know it may be shocking but there are 4 survivors in the trial.

Then don’t allow survivors to be the same person per game. Like I’m suppose to keep track of which of the 4 damn claudettes I just hooked is. Nothing makes me more mad then picking up a survivor only to be DS when I thought I was chasing the injured unhooker.

  • My name. Got so excited I joined the forum to tell everyone how excited I was xD

  • I like it as it is, probably a unpopular opinion. IMO, I think some perks in this game get stronger over time with the inclusion of new chapters a new perks being added to survivors and killers. What doesn’t seem important and strong now could be strong later. Right now, this perk is only a real hard counter to one survivor perk (Better Together), but what if this is just the start of more perks that make gens glow yellow for survivors. Some guy got mad at me for saying this b4 but I’ve seen plenty of perks that came out but didn’t find a strong synergy or a good use until a later perk was added.

Dont get mad at me <_<

  • Not to be ‘that guy’ but I’ve seen DbD tournaments and seen vids on the complications the event organizers go through and it’s quite a challenge to get a fair game going. So many elements of DbD cannot be manipulated and must be left to RNG, so you will never have 2 games that can be fairly judged, even if it was the same map. Also, to maximize their potential of winning, teams will closely monitor what you judge as a winning condition and maximize on it, resulting in killers largely all being the same ect ect. What I’m trying to say is it will be unfair to judge and boring to watch. Hope you find the key to a fun DbD tourney because as far as I’ve seen, many streamers I watch gave up on the idea or killed their attempts at hosting one.

  • Pig does it better, I love clips of Pigs crouch walking to a Gen and standing next to survivors who then realize it’s a pig, pop gen and run scared. Hilarious. Pig really got a good ability for blending in, something they did make seem Legend would do.

  • Well as Deathslinger, whenever I get that distance shot with no real obstructions or survivor blocks, just me and my fish, I get excited. That moment when you sit up and start muttering, “oh yeah, come to daddy Deathslinger” xD

  • My routine is to get to rank 1 killer, get mad frustrated, give up killer, play survivor to mid ranks b4 I get frustrated, then give up on DbD till the next chapter. Repeat~

  • I was like this too when I first started playing as killer. It’s like predator hunting his prey and then turning his back on it before the feast. Change your mindset and you’ll be a stronger killer

  • I dunno what rank you are but less experienced killers will easily get fixated on a survivor and end up tunneling. The lack of experience means less confidence and they build up confidence by tunneling out at least one survivor, making the time management a lil easier to manage. IMO.

  • Lol, put jacked up Abby in this game too haha

You keep all tokens and it reactivates if the obsession switches.

    Great, thanks

  • Well we have so many cool outfits now anyway. I remember I once threw out some ideas on this topic. Survivors got a free hand, why not let them hold a character specific item. Like David could have a bat or whatever. Not like items don’t already disappear when vaulting or doing gen, who cares if it looks a lil silly.

  • Sucks when you see a quote you haven’t seen b4 and then the game starts :/

  • Yeah, im playing my first game of survivor in months and was surprised by the new screen and gens and was like, man survivor games feel so much different to killer lol.

of course after doing the only 2 gens, 2 hook saves and 2 survivor pick up, 2 died and the last guy starting working with the killer. Yup, going back to killer, survivors are a bunch of back stabbing #########~

  • Not gunna lie, I’m an adult and a fan of the series and its chalked full of more pain, suffering, and fear then probably half these other franchises combined. Killing children, body snatching, unsolved mysteries, layers of plot.

I mean, ######### man, you think 5 games and like a dozen books later and this is just a simple kids game? Sounds more to me like nobody wanted to engage with the series and opted to just dismiss it. You do you but to say one of the scariest games in years that was so good and marketable that they are ‘still’ making them and expanding the franchise into many other revenue (games, books, merchandise, so close to a movie), kind of silly opinion :/

1 … 3 4 5 6 7 … 10
