i Was trying to prove how stupid of a argument it was lol I’m not actually being serious but I do think he is the worst killer in the game
Except he's not. And there's no such thing as a stupid argument, just agree to disagree like a reasonable person. Thanks.

He’s the weakest killer in the game in my opinion
I disagree with this, his 13-1 record against me proves it.

Look at the killer's perks though, how does a rank 15 get such nice perks?

Deal with it baby survivor
Lol! This guy's now raging on the board. This game makes people lose their minds, I'm realizing this more.

All I want in all honesty is legit penalties for purposely deranking or not playing the trial as intended (meaning no afk, DC and hook suicide), get rid of survivor/ killer rank altogether and tighter hitboxes. That's all.

Try playing as him. See how fun it is to get gen rushed because you have no map pressure.
I'm 1-13 against him so far, so forgive me for disagreeing with you.

Actually the goal is to pip, "winning" is completely subjective, is a 2k a win? Or is a 4k the only "win". Is a survivor escape a win if their entire team was sacrificed? Winning is very subjective in DBD and the emblem system while not perfect is what we're stuck with to measure performance, so it would be nice if it was actually more fair.
And if you'll remember, there is a penalty for AFK now, there is no penalty for taking the easy way out on the first hook. Again another imbalance.
And no, them choosing to leave early actually screws me out of gaining a reward in the form of a pip for the match I'm spending 10+ minutes completing, read the post I describe it quite clearly, I lose out on two additional possible hook actions, meaning I now have to basically 4k or I safety pip.
By the devs own admission, killers are supposed to be looking to get a 2k in a game, that's supposedly a win for both sides. Problem is a 2k is often a safety pip for a variety of reasons and can sometimes be a negative pip based on how the game went.
It is important because killers would like to see a reward for playing well that is on par with survivors for playing well. Right now as it stands a killer has to sweat decently hard just to safety pip while survivors don't have to play nearly as well and get pips handed to them left and right.
If you're ever curious why a red rank survivor you get grouped with is a potato, here's why, they got carried by other survivors and continued to pip from escapes and just holding M1 and doing an unhook or two. They didn't actually have to learn all aspects of playing survivor in order to be effective. Killers don't get that luxury, we have to all but dominate games to even move up a single pip, and god forbid you're trying to double pip, that's when we have to pull out all the dirty stuff like slugging for the 4k, proxy camping, all that nastiness.
All due respect, people like you are the reason why people complain about unnecessary things here. If the goal is not to win, then why do you play? It's like saying the goal of NFL teams that play the Patriots is not to win, but to get enough yards to move up in the league rankings. Seriously? I guarantee that if you got your precious pip but lost every game, you'd be ready to break your controller. No wait, it'll be the survivor or killer too good excuse. It's a shame that you're more focused on numbers than just playing a game. But I guess that this is the only thing you feel that you can control and that's not good.
-
@Kwikwitted said:
Honestly the only issue a lot of killers have with pipping or the emblem system is that we can actually get screwed out of a pip by a survivors actions.
If survivors take the easy way out on the first hook, I now have to get 8 out of 9 remaining available hook opportunities to hit iridescent in Devout.
Gatekeeper on some killers is literally unfair, as they are basically designed to give up some early generators while setting up traps or stalking for Evil Within.
Survivors on the other hand can pip even without escaping. Do 1-1.5 generators and farm a couple teammates on hooks, get in a chase or two, even if you get downed, and you will pip.
And god, can people please stop pretending "it's just a game" is like the be all end all advice? People want to succeed in games they play and they don't appreciate it when the odds seem stacked against them, particularly when it's something out of their control, calling for changes to a system that unfairly punishes killers for survivor actions is not just complaining for the sake of complaining. It's an attempt to get change to make the game more enjoyable for that side.
But why is that so important? It's just like the killers that go afk, the survivors complain about losing pip. Hey if someone chooses to leave early, that makes it easier for you, right? The goal is to win, not pip.

I just played a "rank 17" Deathslinger with green and purple perks. I'm wondering if they deranked, but the lowest you can go down to is 16? Hmmmmm....

Recently, I've been playing as killer (The Trapper) a lot. But I have been playing, and everytime I win the match, the people call me camper. But I don't know why. I look for the generators, put some traps, when I get someone I try to hide and try to look for someone and walk a little bit to see if something's happening. I use my perk (Insidious) sometimes to camp (THAT'S THE ONLY TIME I REALLY CAMP) to try to get the guys saving the hooked one. But that's only it. I think those guys get annoyed because the fall into my traps. But isn't that what The Trapper does? Traps people to get them? I don't know why people call me that. Are they raging?
Camper!!
I'm just kidding. You don't sound like a camper, you're just dealing with petty survivors. I played last night and there were campers galore, even Pig was camping.
-
Here's a stat for you, everytime I bring in an item, I lose 100% of the time. I'm just collecting them and wish I could sell them.
-
Thanks, was always a bit curious about that.

Seems like the devs have 2 errors, one with matchmaking and one with survivor ranking. The matchmaking is all over the place now, I've been in matches with red rank killers and I've been in some with rank 20. My rank fell from 12 to 16 in 3 days pretty much and I've been having some decent games overall, but I guess I don't get enough pip to increase anymore.
-
Breaking a $60 controller over that is not very smart. You think that guy is somehow going to know that you broke your controller then feel bad about it? He won't even think about you after this and you shouldn't either. Just turn off chat if you don't want to get messages like that.
-
The right thing to do would've been to make the brown toolbox charge good for 75% of a gen and increase each subsequent toolbox base charge by 25%. As of now, they're useless for gens.
-
I don't know if I buy the latency excuse. I've played plenty of other online games and they are nowhere near as bad as this. I can understand if it lagged, that would make sense. This is constant. So either the devs have to fix their servers, or stop using latency as an excuse and make the hitboxes tighter.
-
@SurviveByDaylight said:
I agree. There have been many unfair hits from killers due to lag or I guess hit box issues. I feel like if you go through a vault your hit box should just be disabled. The killer technically gainer distance on you as you’re going through a vault which he doesn’t even have to go through because he can just swing at it and anything within a mile distance from the vault gets pounded into the ground. Some range that is.... but, Wow, you mean for once someone’s pointing out a survivor issue? I had to refresh the page and rub my eyes multiple times to make sure I wasn’t seeing things. Insane.
Haha, yeah I play survivor primarily and we have our issues too.
-
I've been playing a lot of Doctor trials too and he's much more difficult than before. I don't have good matches against him, his shock radius covers a lot of ground and he's hard to evade most times.
-
The Wraith is one of my Achilles heel in the game. I can hardly escape from him. His cloaking is a major problem for me and it's rare that I can evade him.
-
I don't get what everyone else thinks about survivors having a big advantage. I play survivor and I don't do very well at all.
-
I'll name 3 killers with one honorable mention.
1st killer is Wraith, I can never seem to get away fast enough when he ding-dongs. He annoys the crap out of me.
2nd is the new Doctor. I overall like the changes that were made for him (reverse skill check is a nice addition devs, props!), but all of a sudden I struggle heavy against him. Once I scream, it's over seems like.
3rd is Deathslinger. The gun is a major roadblock for me and I still haven't escaped him yet. I came within 3 feet of escaping, when he shot me and reeled me back to the hook basically.
Honorable mention to Ghostface, I can't never locate him when he's stalking me. I get exposed and hooked often.

The OP probably hits survivors while hooked too. There's no reason why someone would want to derank to get easy wins and bully others. If the higher ranks are doing that to you, then keep at it until you get better and you'll be giving it back to them in the future.
-
Just like I thought finitethrills, you have nothing to offer.

Well there's your problem. Waving your arms means the killer is still there.
Ok then, why not tell me the correct way, because I was told that waving arms twice meant killer was nearby and flailing mean it was clear. And I've also seen plenty of survivors and streamers flailing to get someone to rescue you. If you're not trolling, then tell me the correct way. Thanks.

Some of the replies though amazing then these same players complain when the killers camp and tunnel. Can’t really blame killers for playing that way since they get bmed no matter what.
To be honest, I don't mind the tunneling that much. I play a fair game and think it's dumb when killers hit hooked survivors, I don't like survivors bullying killers neither.

@Peanits said:
There's actually a very simple answer to this. The Deathslinger was built with a new modifier in mind that allows us to easily tweak his ADS sensitivity. Meanwhile controller sensitivity is something that is grandfathered in from back in 2016. Some things like the Hillbilly's chainsaw emulate a controller for turning, and simply increasing the maximum sensitivity would mean that the Hillbilly could suddenly turns way more. In order to increase the maximum sensitivity range, we would need to go through and update anything using it to make sure that it doesn't break something.
The controller sensitivity increase is still on the way, though, and it is actively being worked on.
DarqPhoenix, you were saying?
-
My top 5 is Meg, Kate, Claudette, Feng and Nea.
I only use Myers as killer, so 5 Michael Myers?
-
Yeah that's not camping at all, people love to overblow this. Now I had a Camping Oni, he hooked me and turned into pissed off Oni, but only ran a few feet then came back, the whole time I was on the hook. That's a camper.
-
Simple. If all 4 survivors are slugged, the Entity gets them. Trial over.
-
Thanks for clearing this up, I thought sabotaging meant that you couldn't even deactivate them, so I just started avoiding them altogether.

That rough patch is my whole survivor career lmao. But especially in solo, it's usually correct for me that being the first found means I die. Or playing Steve means I die. But I'm fine with not escaping as long as I can manage to survive long enough and do enough to get some BPs! And if I'm lucky enough to be the obsession, I'll take those bonus 'Obsession Dead' BPs too.
I think the only time a rough patch really bothers me is if I've played a string of GREAT games and pip up a bunch and then in a matter of an hour I'm back to where I started. I'm not in any way trying to like get to Red Ranks or anything, but it still feels like wasted effort based on getting stuck with meh teammates.
You sound like me, I've had moments where I would rank up a few spots, then I die really fast in the next set of trials and I lose 4 rank spots it seems.
Thanks everyone for the Deathslinger tips, will try next chance I get.
-
Ok then, killers that use Mori's should have their speed decreased by 15% for each kill and can't use their special powers for 90 seconds. Sounds ridiculous, doesn't it?

What changes do you mean exactly?
I know that matchmaking and the rank system can screw you up pretty bad, since survivors of very different skill levels can be matched up together, sadly.
Just all the recent nerfing going on. Minimum as they may seem, it does have an impact on my games, I'm not totally blaming that as the reasons for my struggles though.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/137727/playing-as-survivor-so-far
Survivor main here! And oh boy... Do I hit some rough patches. I've gone literal days of playing without getting a single escape. It can be super tough, especially if you're a casual player (like I am). Don't get discouraged - just hang in there and keep at it! You'll have an 'on' day soon enough. :) Also, just try to get the most bloodpoints. I've stopped thinking of 'escapes' as a win and started thinking of getting more bloodpoints than the killer as a win - and that happens pretty frequently!
As for Deathslinger I will be honest... I've yet found a really solid way to counter him. The general consensus on the forums is a mixture of 'git gud' and 'don't get harpooned' but that's obviously not genuinely helpful advice. So far my wins against him have been a mixture of stealth heavy rounds and just dropping that palette early!
It's a very different play style, especially coming off of the Doctor craze, but Deathslinger isn't a super fast killer like some. He's going to get you in a chase, yes, but his general map coverage is relatively low. Take it slow and quiet and sometimes you can get around him decently. In a chase just aim for the trees/palettes/windows as much as you can... Though I still get hooked like 9/10 of the time. I'm curious to know if people can increase their reel speed because I've seen HUGE distances reeled in within less than 2-2.5 seconds and my struggle meter wasn't even 1/4th the way. So I dunno!
Good luck out there!
This is awesome advice for Deathslinger, thanks! Yes I'm a casual player and I'm also on console, so that's 2 strikes right there, haha. I usually run with Claudette, but I just prestige her and am using a Level 50 Meg while I level up Claudette again. I'm usually good with Meg, but this latest string of games has been difficult with her. Trying to find an answer perk wise that will give me better success, but it's a lot of luck and skill in the end.
Back to Deathslinger, it's the gun that I have struggles with. The long range attack makes it (so far) difficult for me to repair gens and get rescues. I did have my best game against him last night, we got down to 1 gen, but then he slugged everybody and I tried to revive the first person he slugged, thinking he would be a while on the others, but he doubled back and caught me. Didn't help that the survivor wasn't fully recovered, but I tried the best I could. I've never played so much for Bloodpoints as I just try to escape, but I'll do more of the little things (chests, totems) a lot more and hope this rough patch ends!
-
Escapes, I've never believed in pipping. I should add that before all the changes and matchmaking inconsistencies, I was 50/50 at best. Just trying to find a way to adapt to the changes.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
- "What's the diagnosis, Doctor?
- Well, to me it looks like a severe case of Gitgud."
Stupid comment. Even players who are "gud" can have frustrating matches. If anything, they whine even more because they believe it shouldn't happen to them.
-
@Nickeleye said:
I would gladly give up Ebony Mori in return for the key being gone.
Let's make it happen!
Why does everyone think the key is an automatic win? In a full survivor trial, 4 gens must be repaired before the hatch appears and even then you have to search for it. You tell me what's easier, that, or hooking a survivor and tunneling them for Mori's as someone has posted above?
-
I've mentioned this on other topics and will repeat here, Ebony Mori's should be reworked to where a killer can't perform it until they've hook a survivor twice. The Ebonies can deplete the field in very short time, one minor change should make it more challenging and killers can't use it as a crutch to easily kill survivors.
-
I'm on console and I don't see a lot of Plague or Legion. I typically see a lot of Doctor, Trapper and Hag.
-
I know killers that didn't depend on ruin and decimated the trial. Try to play more without using crutches until you get better?
-
It's crazy! It's like if a killer doesn't kill everyone, or a survivor outsmarted them and escaped, they whine and scream bloody murder. Guess what? We're not going to have perfect trials all the time. It looks to me like you had a good round, just take it and move on.

Maybe this is why this topic was created?
-
Really?? Nitpicking much?
-
There would be no toolbox nerf if they didn't nerf Hex Ruin.
-
I'm really bad with killers, but I run Michael Myers because of the silence/stealth element.
I've played way too much Metal Gear and Splinter Cell...
-
I thought the goal of the game was to repair gens and escape? Not seek out killer and gamble on dying shrugs
I enjoy it very much, that's the way the game is supposed to be played and I play the way it's to be intended. The killer's job is to seek out the survivors and kill them, which I want to avoid. Would you rather me play the right way, or t-bag and taunt you at the exit gate?
-
Mick Taylor from Wolf Creek would be cool too.
