I just bought the Halloween dlc because all the videos I have watched of people playing as Michael Myers make him look super OP. But I guess you have to get him super leveled up because using just his 3 perks he is BY FAR THE WORST KILLER IN THE GAME!!! I guess his power is all in the add ons. Now I know how the stalking and stuff works but it's almost useless once the survivors know it's Mike!!! I'm usually around rank 8-10 in killer and can get a 4K with any other killer so it's not like I'm total trash. . It's all on mike!!! I played 3 games with his 3 perks and got 1 very undeserved kill!! Almost calls for a refund!!!
Ive done the adept for all the killers. Deathslinger is the worst. Its not even close.
Mike just takes some getting used to. He has really good perks 🤷♂️

It's not about understanding them or learning the counters. I know them very well. It's just unfun. Doesn't matter if I win or lose, I simply don't have fun against them.
Dbd might not be the game for you. Theyve been making killers that specificallt stop looping, or at least make it much harder, since doc. Anti loop killers are literally never going any where

looping is the basis to determine one's skill in this game, as its the only thing to do.
if you dont like looping as a killer and would rather just instantly win or expect survivors to just hold W, you should probably be in brown ranks
Yeah but its NOT the only thing to do, some killers you have to play against differently. If you think theres no skill in faking oit a spirit for example idk what to tell you.
No killer likes looping, its boring af. Mind gaming some tiles is fun. Runnkng in a circle is not

Have you ever played DBD?
"Run in a zig zag" - thats not how this game works, you lose distance, you get hit. Theres plenty of clips from zubat alone with him just ADSing repeatedly and jokingly saying "outplayed" after they dodge a shot they have no way of knowing isnt coming.
Having skill thrown out the window for guessing isnt good gameplay
I do it all the time dude. It works.

A short time after the live release of Oni (a 90-110° flick was possible, the 180° got patched out in the PTB) Scott started to post some videos that should prove that Oni is op. "50 oni 4ks in a row" for example. To be fair, oni was really good at that time, but got also played by a damn good player with thousands of hours.
So after people like tofu and ayrun agreed the devs nerfed his flick to a maximum of 40°. Many, and i mean MANY people complained about it after that and a month later he got a fix 90° flick.
He's still complaining about spirit being uncounterable btw.
I remember that, I didnt know it was Scotts fault
-
@NursesBootie said:
I don't really like scott honestly. He's a good source for oni advice, but his opinions on everything else are...weird. He was one of the reasons Oni got crippled for a month, i don't forget that.
Just like otzdarva knows everything about trapper and tofu is a god on billy.
Crippled for a month? What you mean?

I think BHVR should add a offline mode where you could play killer/survivor and set difficulty of bots
This will be great for people like me who don't have access to high speed internet and have constant lag
It would be good for practice/warm up too. As long as theyre better than the f13 bots 🤦♂️

Yeah having to play the same against every killer would be boring as ######### #########.
Having to change your playstyle and adapt to the Killer you have is one of the best parts of the game.
I enjoy going against spirit personally. I love horror games and spirit phasing is one of the scariest things in this game. Doc too. Doc makes you go insane and the devs have done a good job with his him with that design in mind. I enjoy playing against Ghostface but so many list him as boring??? I guess it's because he can yoink you off gens before you even know he's in the game and he can hide himself in loops.
Feel like most of the people complaining just want to mindnumbingly run in circles around trash and that's one of if not the most boring things about this game.
Yup, and then theres the different play styles of each killer too. Did trapper put all his traps in 1 area, did he put them in random loops around the map? Did he trap the ######### out of basement? Theres an incredible amount of variety, which keeps you on your toes.

Since the whole idea is boring, which is a rather subjective thing in the first place. Someone in this thread finds ghostface boring to go against but i find him fun to go against. Making the idea of "boring" sound like a poor reasoning to use. Now lacking counter play or something like that, sounds way more reasonable. Since at least there it's base on something that can factual be proven or shown to be false.
Which also the idea of oh hey, you have to change your playstyle depending on the killer your facing. Does sound like it adds variety to the game and keeps it from being boring, due to having to mix it up and not have to simply do the same thing each and every time, helping to keep the game play loop from being the same thing each and every time. Which again makes the idea of boring, sounds like a very weak position to stand on. Which as i said before, basing it on counter play or lack there of, is far more reasonable and stronger point to stand on, since you can at least prove that. While for boring, one person can find ghostface boring to play against and another person could have the time of their life playing against ghostface.
Exactly. Ghostface i find incredibly boring to play as, but going against him can be fun for sure. Countering him is way different than others and can be difficult to force him into a loopable state

@NightmareReborn said:
I can agree with this to an extent. I think characters like Spirit and pre-patch Legion are boring because they have 0 counterplay. Atleast in Spirit's case, you just guess, but there was nothing you could do about pre patch legion.
However, I LOVE fighting deathslinger, but maybe that's just a me thing.
Theres no guessing in countering spirit, if you think that thats why you find her boring. And were back to git gud. No, you wont always counter her perfectly 100% of the time, but if you could shed be trash just like every other killer would be.

Generally, since Legion every single killer is bad designed but with oni being the expection.
Spirit - unfun to go against and bad designed (at least strong tho)
Legion - unfun to go against and weak (mid tier at best)
Deathslinger - unfun to go against and mid tier at best
Plague - unfun to go against and mid tier killer
Ghostface - unfun to go against but at least kinda strong ish
Pyramidhead - unfun to against
New Freddy - unfun to against but at least super strong
Like idk, devs are creating so bad designed killers...
Back then: Billy fun, nurse fun, Myers fun, Huntress fun and then it kept going down hill. They are losing ideas and since they force themselves to create 4 new killers every year there is just bullshit created.
Just calling something unfun and badly designed is a bs argument and its 100% subjective, i dont find any of these killers unfun to vs, but then i take the time to learn them and understand their counters.

He’s not talking about going against a rank 10 deathslinger, or a red rank who isn’t good with ds. He’s talking about (a) add ons that basically eliminate your terror radius (b) he can instantly lift/drop/lift his gun repeatedly to force you to path where he wants, then it’s a guess as to when he’s going to fire, when to juke, etc. Not anything to disagree about with his statement
Run in an unpredictable zig zag, if youre not injured loop like you would against huntress, if you are injured drop the pallet early. You have to know which loops you can safely force him to break and which you need to zig zag your ass away from. Theres still skill involved countering him, theyre just slightly different skills than countering wraith. Scott. Is. Wrong.

When people say Spirit for instance is "boring," everyone knows what they mean but they get the copy+paste "git gud" or "jUSt mInDgAMe hER" kek
just wanna see what people here think from the person that is generally viewed as fair voice in the community as both "sides" tend to respect him.
Yeah but this is one of the times i think hes just wrong. His argument is essdntially "survivors want to be able to use the skills theyve learned" and by ghat he means looping.
Want to take a wild guess at what the most boring thing in the game is for killers? Running around in circles for 5 mi utes.
What behaviour is doing is creating killers that have different counterplays to their powers, some killers you can loop to ######### like wraith, some killers you have to counter a little more uniquely like Spirit. This keeps the game fresh and different. If every single killer was loopable the way wraith is this game would have died 2 years ago.
Scott's wrong on this, the people that find a killer boring its because they either dont understand the counter to thst killer and are getting waxed all the time, or they understand it really well and dont find it challanging. Either way, so tf what. Its better than every single killer having the same boring ass nascar counter

sounds good on paper. It does what youre saying but if you really think about it, its only a small reward that is going to happen regardless if you have a terror radius or not. Id rather run a perk thats more powerful and gives more of a reward than maybe it getting pulled off in very specific circumstances. What happens when everyones asleep? Thats probably half the game for each survivor. During that time, DD is useless
Well Freds one of the few killers you can run weird ######### on and still do well. Ive been running dark devotion + deathbound + bbq + third seal and then the green slow rope and dream pallets. The idea being create as much confusion as possible. Its actually been a lot of fun and worked against decent teams. Not sure how it would do against a 4 man swf r2m1 gen rushing squad, but not much helps against them anyway. I want to switch deathbound out for tinkerer when that drops.

If you could buff Pig how would you buff her?
Her crouch should be just a tough faster and her ambush miss cooldown should just be a touch shorter. This if nothing else.
Now, id also remove the growl or at least have it be shorter so less of a warning.
Her rbts need more consistency. Right now the key can be in box 1-4, id make it so theres 5 boxes and tge key is in box 3, 4 or 5. They'd have to change it so its rng instead of how it is now but this would be better
-
I had someone tell me once that i wasnt a very nice killer. I had to laugh at the absurdity of that sentence
-
If youre a r5 survivir you should be able to get to yellows pretty easy. And playing killer will make you a legit better survivor. You should give it a real shot.
I play both but lean more towards killer, i find it more rewarding and more challanging

I used to agree that tier 1 was better but now after running this perk since release, I prefer tier 3. The loud noise notifications are super distracting especially while in a chase & regardless if the two people are still there or not, you’re going to wanna kick the gen and search the area.
Longer aura reading is helpful so you don’t lose track of the gen in case one of them runs away. Typically one survivor leaves the gen while the other finishes it.
This ^

Some of us prefer t3 over t1. I prefer the longer aura read than the noise spam

Works on awake survivors, fails with asleep ones. Same as insidious. Ive seen videos of it being tested. Its a shame that you cant use terror radius perks on him
Gotcha, ive been using it on him. If you think about it, freddys weak against an awake survivor. So if you hit your obsession theyre now asleep, then you can use your no terror radius to go hit another 1 or 2 people, now theyre asleep too. As Fred the more asleep the better. Ive for sure been making somd crazy plays with it so it is doing work

you have to wear a headsett playing all killers, even survivor, sound is increadibly important for all killers. not just exclusvely to spirit. and even if you cant see survivors during phasing shes too easy to use in her power, basic pallets and jugle gyms aren't even good against her and her "mind game" forces you to leave tiles which are unsafe, if you gussed right you might make it to another pallet, if you guess wrong you go down. not interactive or fun to play against and totally too easy to play which is why I never play her unless i got a mori daily.
I rarely play with a headset on, with spirit its required. Did you watch that video posted above by tru3? Its not easy using spirit unless tge survivors dont know what theyre doing. Being a good spirit is not easy because survivors, good survivors, can do all manner of ######### to confyse you since you literally cant see them.
-
@Sir_Bassington said:
least interactive killer during chase, forces immersed playstyles and hard counters are perk and map dependable. when a god billy/Nurse and good huntress steamrolls a team its because the player is good, not the killer, prove me wrong.
You literally have to watch for blades of grass moving and wear a headset when playing her. Youre talking about a killer that cant see survivors while using their power.

- The Crouch and dash should be left alone as much as possible. Minimal changes to this should be made. One change i would like to see is that the sound queue of the Pig going INTO stealth be removed. That being the slight "Shing" sound effect.
- Bear traps. I would say, give them the Huntress treatment. Allow the pig to be able to carry 4 traps at once just like she does now but she can reload one trap at the Jigsaw boxes. She won't be allowed to reload at the same Jigsaw box again until she placed a trap on a survivor. And the last box she reloaded at will contain the key for the current beartrap she would place and so on for the other beartraps.
These are my ideas, what do you think of them.
Hmph. Well we see their idea of what minimal changes looks like so id be real careful when saying that

100 percent agree.
What do you think of my other proposed ideas?
Well i think with bt what youre saying wouldnt work. I see what youre going for but the problem is its almost always a protection hit. If the survivor gets pulled off the hook and the killer hits them as soon as their feet touch the ground, the game counts that as a protection hit because of proximity.
With die for your sins survivors could abuse that pretty easy by standing close to the survivor but not pulling them off. This would result in killer trying to protect thr hook and getting punished for it.
The others seem ok

I've always wondered how to use furtive chase effectively
Its about switching targets while in chase, so youre chasing someone and you know someones on that gen 5 meters away you can quickly switch targets and they might not know youre coming. Plus it changes obsessions so it has some synergy with other obsession perks.
-
On Fred Ive been running death guard + dark devotion + Third Seal with dream pallets. Its been hilarious how confused survivors get. Though when the new tinkerer comes out im switching death guard for that. And as far as viable i demolished a 3 man swf, but to be fair there was a legut baby bill rando on their team, he wasnt any help
Edited to add: after reading this thread and thinking about it, I might switch death guard for furtive chase...
-
There was a game i had. I was playing freddy and there were 4 flashlights so i put on lightborne. Apparently these red ranked survivors had never heard of lightborne because i downed all of them multiple times while they were trying to flashlight saves. At one point a dwight got so mad he clicked his flashlight like 15 times in a row pointing it at the ground and bopping up and down. He was visibly frustrated and i laughed the whole time putting his buddy on hook then downing him

I actually had in mind fully-healed/interacting but forgot about it, thanks for reminding me - added to first post.
Did not think about removing the timer though... Maybe it could work? Seems better than my proposed idea.
Yeah if the idea is for it to be antitunnel then that would do it. If they want to hide in a corner injured the rest of the match to hang onto ds then whatever. But when they do a totem or gen or heal someone else then clearly they arent being tunneled. Pallets and vaults should be the only exception.
-
For ds id say remove the timer entirely and make it deactivate as soon as they interact with anything or get fully healed.

Whenever I see people complaining about DH, it’s always the same complaint that using DH for distance is unfair because it has no counter. My question for these people is why do they not complain about SB then too? Sprint burst is an exhaust perk that requires zero skill to use and essentially can’t be countered aswell as it always gives the survivor a head start in a chase. So why do I only see DH get hate and not SB?
Because dh is clutch and sb is kind of whatever
