Killers were stacking slowdowns with thana before the patch.

Who would run thana by itself ever? lol

    Legion and plague?

In all honesty though I thought it was a good video and I agree that the addons just need to be tuned, not changing her power to be time based.

    Streamers mention detected.

Beep boop, opinion discarded. Beep boop : D

Killer game is already stupid braindead right now. There isnt even any sweat to be put in. I can basically cook meals while playing killer. Hows that a good thing if youre not completely entitled?

Thaaaat has nothing to do with what we were talking about but ill leave you to your misery : P

The question is: what did they even made better with this patch? Basically every change they did had a negative impact on something that was fine before.

    ????

    Are you serious?

The dead hard being gone makes the whole killer game play feel glorious.

Solo Q always sucked though... that's not this patches fault, and the lower mmr you go the worse solo Q will get.

But you cant blame a patch that didnt change solo Q directly... if solo q is an issue then solo Q should be addressed, not the patch

It sucks extra as in people keep throwing way too much. Can say its a people problem not a patch problem and i agree but doesnt change the fact that solo q sucks way more than the usual amount.

  • Solo Q sucks extra

Let's say for exapmle: This guy have 300+ ping by any reasons, but if he using VPN, he's lowering his ping to the point of... 80 or 90... Should you ban this person for using "a third party" software?

I don't think so. So it depends...

You cant lower your ping with VPN, and if you can you should be able to play. 80 ms is 80 ms.

  • @Tiufal said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3101150#Comment_3101150

So completely trashing the perk was fine? They could have just fixed the perk by allowing breathing sounds and everything would have been fine. Now they just killed another way of gameplay completely.

The exhausted part is too much, rest is fine.

  • @gendoss said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3101833#Comment_3101833

More to my point that most people who are using VPNs are doing it because the game is banned in their country. Now there is a certain argument to be made that it should just not be allowed to use a VPN to bypass certain laws that prevent them from playing the game.

Nah but certain arguments should be made that if your ping is over a certain threshold, lets say on average 200, you shouldnt get to play the game. It just isnt fair to your team mates.

I don't mean misplays or dumb decision on your part or your opponent's, but just, silly things that happened in your games.

Yesterday, in game on Backwater Swamp with a Mikaela on my team, she set up Boon : Circle of Healing.

At some point during the game, we're both injured, next to each other, and within the Boon radius. We kept trying to heal each other but the default action was to self care with CoH. It lasted a few seconds of us starting self caring, stopping, moving slightly to try and get into "heal [...]" hitbox, self-caring again, etc.

We ended up self caring next to each other until one of us finished and then healed the other.

It was stupid, but also really funny.

    Thats peak solo q.

Also when i peep that happen with auras it looks like you are both playing sick guitar solos next to each other.

  • Yeah camping is a pretty reliable crutch.

    Specially at lower mmrs.

  • It sucks on 95% of killers.

Nobody stays injured in my games, there is no reason to run this over a perk that actually does something meaningful.

  • I like the new rift cosmetic. Almost got the dress, tier 23 atm.

You mean the same way pig was able to get afk and get kills and it led her to be nerfed? Why any other killer is above everyone else to be able to do that?

I dont see someone facecamping as playing the game, that's for me just being afk. Why load into a match to be afk? The same way I dont think people should load to a match to dc or kill themselves on first hook.

I wasn't antagonistic until you started being sarcastic to me, fix that.

Sorry i would rather not talk to toxic people like you. Nothing good ever comes out of it <3

My suggestion about slime rancher wasn't a joke.

DBD is a stressful game. If you want a chill game, there's a lot of other ones. That's like me saying I want to play Resident Evil but I don't like zombies.

If you don't want to have discussions on the forums, feel free to not reply to me at all then.

You can camp for all I care, it was not the point.

Oh it felt like a joke though. DBD is a stressful game, sure, basically all pvp games are to a point i think. But that doesnt mean you have to make things harder for yourself and play in a more stressful manner.

I'm not kidding as well when i say camping at 5 gens with bubba is like turning your brain off and just vibing. It is genuinely and without hyprerbole the most relaxed way you can play the game. And on top of that it usually produces pretty good results. That right there is a very good reason to do it. So why not do it?

Why should a bubba player not camp at 5 gens?

Btw you are genuinely antagonistic for no reason and having a conversation with you is not a fun experience, please fix that.

  • @Marigoria said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3101577#Comment_3101577

So you have no interested of actually having a discussion about this, you just want to troll. I'll keep that in mind in the future.

Was this an actual conversation from the start? I mean we kept exchanging jokes, i didnt get a serious conversation vibe from you at all?

But yes im not here to have an actual discussion with you, just to make that clear. Nor do i actually camp, basically ever.

Did you forget the read the rest of that phrase? Is not that long, you can do it.

Hard to do while im checking up on this survivor on the hook every few seconds. They move their hands up and down to say hi btw.

    Where did I dictate anything?

People dont care about getting hooked or sacrificed, they care about having a fair game, which against a facecamper at 5 gens, is not. Nice try though.

For something they dont care about they sure make lots of complaint threads 🤔

  • @Marigoria said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3101563#Comment_3101563

If they want a stress free game there's plenty of alternatives. I for one, really enjoy slime rancher.

Unfortunately you dont get to dicatate to them how to play the game :C

Hey if somebody asks for a stress free game ill let them know though. In the meanwhile if people dont want to get hooked or sacrificed shall we recommend them slime rancher as well or do you have another game in mind?

  • What do you mean insecurity? Camping is just chilling while playing the game. Lets say you are camping with bubba at 5 gens, you just turn your brain off and chill with the person on hook. If you see a survivor coming you just wave them hello.

Its the most casual way you can play the game. No stress, no worrying about anything, just vibing.

People do it because its such an easy and stress free way to play the game.

    Its nothing against you

    Dead hard is reliable though.

    Lithe needs a vault.

And don't get me started on Overcome

Dead vs any kind of oneshot, dead vs plague, mostly dead vs Legion, dead of hook unless you bring OtR which makes the whole not having to mend argument flawed. Killer finds you before you're healed? Dead perk.

Overcome is beginner friendly and that's about it. Still think it's one of the worst exhaustion perks in the game. Too often it does nothing.

Screwed if killer decides to tunnel, thats a big disadvantage. With DH you can come off the hook, Dh to extend the chase, get downed, get picked up, DS and then DH to extend the chase further.

With overcome you are kinda screwed.

  • Oni is a pub stomper imo, probably doesnt need any buffs.

But yeah, if you just predrop and hold w against oni and delay giving him that first hit, nothing much the poor guy can do.

Jolt, Pain Resonance, Surveillance, No Way Out.

Surveillance will work with Jolt and Pain Resonance. Best thing about this build is you just play normally, never have to kick a gen and get easy gen defence and easy yet very strong info.

Jolt and Pain Res seems to be the new easy to use regression perks from what i gather and i like that they work with surveillance. Its a pretty solid combo. Thanks mate <3

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

Combine Deadlock with like the Plaything/Pentimento combo and it feels like gens take forever to complete, especially when you decide that oopsies that's not good enough let's run it on Nurse. Whack on Lethal Pursuer and 2 range addons and whew boy have fun to those survivors

Thats a solid build thanks. I think i would run retribution with it though instead of lethal

  • @danielmaster87 said:

If you want old Pain Resonance back, minus the scream, just combo it with Surveillance. It's annoying to have to use 2 perks to almost get the same effectiveness of what was previously 1 perk, but hey at least it gives you something for kicking gens.

Surveillance seems solid but imo what made old dms/pr great is it did its job automatically.

If i have to go over there and pressure the gen myself its not the same imo. Still surveillance is a pretty good idea with pr thanks <3

  • @ButterFlee13 said:

Thana + Deadlock + Plaything + PR is decent slowdown build. If you love regression more, you can replace Deadlock with Surge.

It’s pretty silly to single out one piece of a suite of changes and act like that’s the thing he’s talking about. It’s the whole package of changes, small, medium and large, that are imbalancing the game. The bloodlust buffs shorten chases. Shorter chases equals quicker hooks and less time for survivors on gens. Gens that are already now taking much much longer due to the changes and slowdown builds. If you don’t grasp that concept theres really nothing more to talk about.

Hey man other than the thana/pentimento build, what slowdown builds are people running commonly?

I used to enjoy the busted PR/DMS combo before but since it got gutted i dont really find any of the slowdowns appealing. And with how fast people heal in my games thana just doesnt really seem worth it.

  • I once carried a survivor to the hatch, closed it on their face, took them to a gate, let them open it, downed them again before they could get out, carried them to a hook and finally turned back and carried them to the exit.

We had a good laugh about it in the end game chat and im glad they werent annoyed by it. Not gonna repeat that soon though.

  • Leave my devour alone, you foul kill switched sexy beast.

  • Its easy to do something you have done for a long time rather than do something new. We are basically our routines. Its hard to break habit but i know you dont enjoy playing the game atm so dont.

I suggest watching stranger things if you havent, i have been meaning to do that for a while now. And maybe come back after a month or 2 to read the patch notes and see if you wanna keep playing <3

  • @Reshy said:

What Killers need is incentives to not camp, you can't disincentivize the killer from camping since it just encourages survivors to be greedy/brain dead and go for unsafe unhooks or farm teammates.

Perks already exist that help incentivize the killer to not camp, the problem is that most of them are merely decent perks that get overshadowed by the ones that more directly aid the killer's game state. But something like when you hook someone the killer gets a 20% movement speed increase till they enter chase (or 30 seconds pass) would make them more mobile, and then make the Killer get a Loud Noise Notification from the generator with the most progress. That'd encourage the killer to leave. They still could possibly camp, but they have more reasons to leave as the opportunity cost is not nearly as high.

Thats not gonna happen because you cant make chases as easy as camping/tunneling and if you did it would just mean people who didnt camp or tunnel will win 1000% of their matches.

You could make devour base kit and not have a totem that can be cleansed and not only would people still camp and tunnel because its easier than getting 5 seperate downs on 5 uninjured people who are far away, it would make winning games against people that didnt camp or tunnel beforehand basically impossible.

You cannot incentivize not camping or tunneling because its the easy turn your brain off mode. You gotta make it so its not easy to actually get people to stop doing it. Also without making it impossible to do because sometimes you have to camp and tunnel, for example during EGC, which is also why ds and otr stops working when gates are powered.

  • @killer_hugs said:

    this is 100% my view.

    look at the facts:

Solo queue is far worse now than it was before. It was already the weakest way to play the game and it got worse.

The strongest killers in the game like nurse and blight got far stronger.

Annoying killers like legion and plague got far more annoying.

Build diversity for survivor was lost and there's a lot of confusion on what to actually bring. Do you bring Off the Record because no one brings Borrowed Time, or do you bring Borrowed Time to help your team and yet get screwed the moment the killer decides to tunnel you off hook?

Perks that were perfectly fine like self-care and spinechill were hard nerfed because the devs stated they saw survivors having a "slight edge" in performance when using them at high ranks. Like, what?

The game feels like it took a huge step back and it's simply not worth playing anymore which is a shame because I love this game.

Could you tell me what the nerf to spine chill was?

Cause im a baby survivor and spine chill just seems amazing to stay away from a killer that doesnt even know you are there when used as a proximity indicator. Spine chill, windows of opportunity and even my baby @ss evades killers 90% of the time.

  • @RisingTron said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3100563#Comment_3100563

aaaaand what do you want me to do about that?

Please can someone give me ONE good reason as to why I, a solo queue player, should sweat my absolute ass off in a game just so we can all get 4k'd at 4 gens left because the killer ran 4 slow downs??

Nobody ever gives me a valid reason.

"You not wanting to sit through a 30 minute solo queue game is the reason solo queue will forever be dead."

I'm flattered, really. But I think the fact that killers got buffed to perform better against SWFs while solo queue got zero buffs or quality of life updates is the reason solo queue is dead.

But no, the problem lies with the players for wanting to enjoy the game and totally not on BHVR for neglecting the majority of the players who play solo queue lol. Y'all are so unserious.

"B-b-b-b-b-b-but what about your team??" And what about them? Idk those people. I'm doing them a favor. The sooner we get out of slowdown city, the sooner we can all move on to another match.

I mean im not running a single slowdown, i dont camp, tunnel or run a single add on but god forbid i get a first down too fast and survivors just throw themselves at me to get out of the match.

If people dont throw themselves at me, we actually get pretty enjoyable matches. I am not even good at killer but my win rates have sky rocketed because, please dont take this as an attack i mean this literally, people like you just give up and ruin the game for their fellow survivors.

  • @UnluckyDucky said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3101179#Comment_3101179

WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT. There are 4 other sources of sound survivors make! Breathing, footsteps, vaulting, grass, bush--the ONLY sound you aren't hearing is "AHHH!!!!!!" Even if they're not moving in a bush, you will still have collision with a survivor near by. And on top of that, you dont have to play hide and seen with a survivor--if you cant find them, move on. its like a survivor looping you endlessly in a chase--you can just disengage. the survivor will come out of hiding--its literally just another mind game. make them think you left, then double back and i promise you you'll catch a survivor standing up from a bush or slightly standing out to the side from behind a rock/tree.

What im talking about is pretty clear. It became very obnoxious to find an injured person sitting on a gen when they had IW. You can of course just leave but then you completely wasted however many seconds getting to that gen and didnt even defend it. Just leave is not really an option and a standing still survivor with IW basically makes no sound.

Again man im not going to argue with you whether old IW was busted or not. It was busted beyond belief. Thats clear to me but if its not to you, fine, who cares.

  • @UnluckyDucky said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3101161#Comment_3101161

Okay if I, a baby bronze killer, can find survivors during a chase who run Iron Will, I have NO CLUE ######### is going on with everyone else. If youre in a chase and your prey just suddenly VANISHES--they didn't. They're hiding. Taking like a 2 second look around and you will physically FEEL your character run into theirs. How does anyone on earth think this perk is broken. I hardly even saw it in my killer games, and when I did see it, it didn't do anything for someone in chase--because I can literally see them. Being quiet wasn't gonna hide them.

Thats nice man but you are thinking of what happens when you injure some one during a chase. Things become very obnoxious when they are already injured and you have no idea where they are. Again, noise is a big component of this game, sometimes as important as sight if not more. You cant just take it away with 1 perk slot, that was beyond busted mate.

Just let the perk go, there is a reason it got the nerf hammer. Just removing a big part of the game from the equation... lul

  • @UnluckyDucky said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3101150#Comment_3101150

You were never completely silent during chases. You still hear footsteps, breathing, vaults--like the ONLY thing you dont hear is "OOOOOH AH.... nnnnnn!....OOOOHHH" There are dozens of different noises in this game to let you know a survivor is nearby. There were already perks in game to counter Iron Will like Whispers and Stridor. You also have scratch marks to literally HIGHLIGHT where we were, Not to mention all the aura perks killers already have to literally just SEE the survivor's outline almost at all times. I'm All Ears is a great perk to just 100% negate ANY stealth like QQ, Lithe, and Iron Will.

Iron Will was LITERALLY you're ONLY shot at being able to HIDE while injured. Not all of us are good at looping and so our only choice is to hide--now it's completely gone.

Stridor didnt counter IW in a long time and apart from foot steps, you didnt really get anything. Sometimes IW bugged out and you didnt get even that. I understand that it was a crutch for looping but it was busted beyond belief. Sound is more important than sight sometimes in chase and just taking away that part completely is beyond busted.

75% is more in line with what it should be doing anyway. I hope they revert the nerf on being disabled when exhausted though. I get what they mean, they basically count IW as an exhaustion perk because its basically as strong as one but its probably fine at 75%.

  • I mean yeah those boys are loud but you understand that completely being silent during chase was busted af right?

  • @Gindaen said:

Tell me, what do you think "To ensure the Killer feels like an unstoppable force to be feared" (Direct Quote from patch 6.1.0), means when the developers were talking about kill rates.

That's totally giving the killer role free kills. The killer-role to me has been delegitimized by the developers. Again, you shouldn't take this as a personal attack, this is just how I see the killer-role now.

What can the developers do when in half of the games the person that gets downed first either suicides on hook or dcs.

I've said this before but will say it again. If suicides-on-hooks and DCs have increased significantly, that's not a player problem, that's a developers problem. Something with the game is causing an abnormal DC and Suicide-on-hooks issue and the developers are the only ones that can fix it. I mean, it's their job, right?

Its a player problem as in other solo q players get screwed over by it. I am not feeling personally attacked mate. I just feel like you are over exaggerating the buffs and most of your problems are caused by other solo q players.

I mean killers like trapper didnt stop magically being good after the buffs, the game didnt suddenly become impossible or 2-3 times harder to win.

Dont take it as a personal attack but solo q players are doing this to themselves. Well its mostly getting better and im seeing less and less teams that just give up and more and more teams that do stuff like coming back from 6-7 hooks and 3 downs at 5 gens to actually doing all gens and getting out.

Or it could be that those are the only players left at normal mmr that actually want to play the game and rest of the solo q is in mmr hell, playing against baby killers but still killing themselves on hook and dooming their team mates so no one can get out of that mmr hell <3

  • @Gindaen said:

Competitive and Fair go hand in hand. Is there any other game on the market that just gives one side wins like DBD does: Street Fighter, LOL, Call of Duty, etc etc? This statement is about the role in general, not about players who play Killer. I totally understand players who play killer because it's easy wins given to them by developers.

If I was still playing the game, I'd definitely play killers just because it's free wins. But I don't respect the role anymore and I honestly just don't play unfair competitive games in the first place. Whats the point when one side is just given wins, it's no longer competitive at that point.

Nobody is giving out free wins. Killers didnt get a *2 speed buff or now somehow instantly downs you and brick your pc. Solo Q is miserable because solo q players are a miserable bunch.

What can the developers do when in half of the games the person that gets downed first either suicides on hook or dcs.

Yeah i just read that first sentence and went off. I thought he meant players should play fair, he meant players should feel the game is fair.

Besides Insidious, that's literally a meta Nurse build, Nurse being the best killer.

The whole build is hooking somebody, hiding somewhere far with insidious and trying to give the unhooker a heart attack because as soon as they unhook they scream and start hearing the terror radius + blink audio que.

Its not meant as a serious way to play the game
