It should automatically use the attempts when you are the last survivor, right now it instantly kills you so you can't stall the game on the hook but it also completely negates Deliverance which is very annoying.
-
You could not even use your power and play an M1 110% killer, you would likely still get 4K's in those ranks.
-
The thing with Lithe is that if you get hit through the window now the perk is wasted, but if you don't get hit through the window, you just went through a window and you are already safe, you don't need a perk to make you even safer.
I really like Balanced Landing and it is very useful since it turns many deadzones in to safe areas, but as long as Sprint Burst exists I can't find a reason to run it.
-
Scratch marks, Footsteps and grass sounds should be your main source of information. Spirit is a prediction killer, you won't always know where the survivors are when you are and you will rely mostly on mindgames. Stridor is good for new to medium level Spirits but against very good teams it's usually useless, you will need to get better on your predictions against them which will happen with time.
-
Depends on many things. Is there a safe tile nearby? Is it a predictable killer you can reliably loop for a while? Are you the person on death hook? How close is the generator to being done? How far away is the killer and how much time do you have? Things like these are called game sense that you develop by playing the game, or you can watch some YouTube videos. Those help a ton.
Also don't expect Solo Queue teammates to play well, more often than not they will be walking around doing nothing the whole game.
-
To be honest, he felt better in PTB. I still slide off cars and snow piles since the update, and the new shack is broken as always. Sadly this is probably all we will get for a while.
-
Damn, I believe you for a split second there, now I'm back to feeling disappointed.

I know this is an April fools joke but nurse does need a nerf
I think a lot of other things should be done first. She may be too strong but she still is the only killer who can reliably win against the best survivor teams in the game.
-
Killer is pretty hard, killer without good perks is very rough to say the least. My mindset in games like those is that I have already lost when the match loads, I will just try to get everything I can from that match until it ends. Just accept that you can't do anything in some games and don't stress on them too much.
-
Up your volume and listen for breathing and grass sounds, these are your best friends against these people. EDIT: Lol didn't see the part about Whispers, then another tip would be to look at the corners of the map or around those areas, survivors tend to stay away from the middle when they are hiding.
-
Well, you aren't being tunneled. Think about it, your scenerio is with 3 people. 1 person was hooked after you and the last guy is being chased right at that time, the killer would have literally chased or hooked everyone else other than you before coming back to you. Thats as little you can get tunneled as possible in that scenerio.

Right now you can even heal yourself with Inner Strength if you already cleansed a totem before and it won't deactivate.
Can you? I tried Second Wind and DS deactivated the second I got healed.
-
- Moaning Storehouse
- Ding Ding
- Bliit
...are a few of the many I use.
-
Make it so you start the game healthy and the perk activates the first time you get injured to prevent you from getting healed. Completely remove the broken status effect from the perk so the killer can't know that you have it and give an indicator to nearby survivors that you have it like We'll Make It does.
-
Both bad.
-
Blight is still pretty buggy but it is less than tenth of what it was before the changes, also he can now hit through windows which is amazing.
-
- You activate it and use it.
- You don't get downed.
- You get healed.
Now the killer can see you.
- You get downed.
Now the killer can't see you until you follow the first 3 steps again.
-
- DS was brought to games by survivors as much as old Ruin was brought to games by killers. You could basically do half a generator with it, get downed and still hit the killer with DS before the change, it was too much for a single perk. Now it is around as strong as BT and Unbreakable, only if the killer makes it strong.
- The problem with Nurse lies in the rest of the game actually. There is a huuge gap in power between her and any other killer. The problem is that against most good players, a thousand hour Nurse is near unbeatable in some maps. But on the other hand, the best of the best survivors are also near unbeatable by anything other than Nurse, and maybe Spirit. The problem is with the balance of the game more than any specific killer.
- Bloodwebs problem is that it is outdated. It was okay when the game was smaller and had only a few DLCs, but in its current state I believe it takes 6k-10k hours of playing this game to unlock everything right now. That's way too much and it only gets worse with each update.
- Noed is an absolutely balanced perk in my opinion, but that doesn't make it a good perk. My example to this is a killer who can press a button and randomly kill 2 survivors and let 2 escape. On paper that is as balanced as a killer can get, but that doesn't make it a good killer. Just like that Noed basically guarantees you a kill at the end of most games, pretty balanced in my eyes but doesn't mean it is a healthy perk for the game.
- But many people care about bugs, and their game being ruined by them is just unfair.
My only unpopular opinion is about Dead Hard apparently, I don't see it as a fair perk since a killer can do the mindgame of the century or a survivor can do a mistake that literally throws the game and it only takes a press of a button to undo it by the survivor. But most people do so I guess I may be wrong about this.
-
Just compare him to Plague.
- Both can hit survivors with their abilities to injure them in a similar way.
- Both have a special ability they can get.
But Trickster has some considerable downsides:
- He is 110% while she is 115%.
- You need to manually fill the meter with his knives and if you stop they decay overtime. With Plague you can just touch them with your ability and it will fill itself, also it can spread to other survivors.
- He has to reload when she has infinite shots.
- His special ability has a 50:50 chance to be a hinder or a slight help, usually when you are low on ammo. Plagues special ability on the other had is one of the most oppressive abilities in the whole game.
- Plagues infection also has the added bonus of survivors having to spend time cleansing to get rid of it. It also trumps all healing perks and Medkits.
And the only advantage of Trickster is that he can down people with his ability. He is basically a combination of the worst parts of Huntress and Plague, I have faced many Tricksters with amazing aim that played really well and made amazing plays, but none of them got more than a single kill because of how little pressure this killer brings to the table.
-
Honestly, grind is better than when I started this game. Rift and challenges are a great way for bloodpoints, WGLF buff was amazing for survivors and the developers post a bunch of bloodpoints promo codes now. Still though I have to agree, the sheer amount of perks and characters in this game shows how outdated of a feature the current bloodweb is, it's simply too slow. Also with how the meta works especially with killer, you can't eve start having good matches against decent opponents without good perks you get from multiple other characters.

But you had zero issues using a perk slot for it previously to stop tunnelling so why has this changed? it still stops tunnelling.
Why are you assuming that I'm okay with a single perk being the only thing between me dying at 4 gens and me actually playing the game. I was never fine with it, most people weren't, but that doesn't change the fact that we still had no other option than DS to prevent getting tunneled, and we still don't. A constant obsession would be better than how it is currently.
-
9 out of 10 times trying to dodge his knives is a bad idea actually. He has such a high firerate and ammo count that it's much better to just gain distance and get behind an object as quickly as possible, and his accuracy is so bad that at high range you are better off running in a straight line.
From my matches against him he feels more like a Nurse than Huntress/Deathslinger. Those ranged killers can get a hit after a glimpse of you so your goal against them should be to bait hits and be unpredictable as much as possible, this is not really possible with how much ammo Trickster has and how he doesn't get any penalties for missing. Against him the goal should be to have an object between you two to block his LoS as often as possible, just like Nurse. You will get hit no matter what against a good Trickster, just make him take as long as possible to hit you with each knife.
-
After the changes I don't have a problem with assuming if someone has DS or not, since the moment I hear or see them heal, do a totem or do a generator I know now they are completely vulnerable. So I wouldn't mind there being an obsession every match as a killer, I would like it as a survivor so I'm not forced to bring a single perk if I want to actually play the game.
-
Worst I've gotten recently was a Ghostface hitting me through pallets and a Bubba hitting me through a rock in Ormond, so I find it ten times better than it was a year ago.
@ThisIsAName said:
Personally, I have had too many bs hits, receiving and hitting, since this update launched. Pallets don't seem to work well for me, as they get a hit on me, and I throw it down, but they don't get stunned, or I throw it down right on them and I don't get a stun.
Pallets are bugged right now.
-
Same as my old build;
- BBQ
- Make Your Choice
- Devour Hope
- Undying
or
- BBQ
- Make Your Choice
- Pop
- Dragon's Grip
I like one shotting basically.
-
In 9 out of 10 maps I can find a hex in a minute or two of looking around the map, so no this perk doesn't need any nerfs at all. It will usually give you a couple extra hits before a survivor spends time cleansing it so overall its an above average perk, like Devour.
-
Go ahead, these things can only get fixed after they are used enough times that the developers see it as a problem. That's why Iri Heads are still in the game, because they are very rarely seen. Start using whatever build you want and if it's a problem at least it will maybe get patched in the next decade.
-
I see people tunneling after the DS change, just like people were tunneling before the DS change. DS doesn't prevent tunneling, it only punishes it so there will always be killers who do it.
-

Agreed. they both need to be fixed. only one removes 90% of the counter play to a killer that has the highest mobility in the game and just got a buff :D
You can still catch the stretched rezer out of position.
By counterplay do you really mean just standing behind a small object whenever he uses his power? Blight doesn't need a nerf like this, he even needs his flicks streamlined so they don't require you to play with really high DPI.
-
Most people don't know every challenge by name, so you should be more descriptive. What is this challenge exactly?
-

Yeah auto haven is actually kinda strong for him. He still takes ages to down someone but he definitely will down you
Ormond is really bad against him too since other than the main building he can shoot over nearly every object, and the main building is full of straight corridors so he has a very easy time shooting there too, but he still cant create enough pressure to actually win games even in maps like these. This killer needs so many changes to be okay in any way.
-
I played him all day today, he felt much better than he used to. He still slides sometimes but its much more seldom.
-
Gen speeds are fine, map designs aren't. Most of my games go well and I don't feel like gens go too fast for me to play the game, but then I get a Lery's map with double windows next to every generator as Blight, then they become a problem.
-
With survivors, yes. With killers no. If I want variety playing survivor I will try different builds like cleansing, healing, Head On, chasing etc. If I want variety as killer I will just play a different killer.
-
I doubt this will reduce the perks usage at all because it still is the only protection survivors have against tunneling, but a very welcome change indeed.
-
Killers rarely get buffed right after PTB, they have repeatedly said that they don't implement the changes they decide in PTB on the update but they do on the following hotfixes.
I still don't think the killer will get to a good place but lets not judge them before they even have a chance to fix him.
-
That is in the config folder, you can delete that whole folder if you want and you won't run in to problems, other than having to redo your settings.
-
Don't forget to verify your files, it rarely fixes problems like this. Usually you either have to wait until it is fixed or reinstall though.
-
The only thing I'm concerned about are TLs. They will absolutely be useless while this hex is active and some maps like Suffocation Pit they are the only structures you can find.

Plauge: First off, wear a mask girl. You know the times. You've probably heard that if you play her. You're focused and hardworking. Your strength is survivor determined, so it can get frustrating. But you're trying and learning as you go. Keep up the good work and don't be afraid to try new things.
Buba: Oh boy, I have to hold my tongue here. I'm not a fan considering I've met some not so nice Buba players. But, those who play well really want to fight the stigma. You play fair, but see it through to the end. If you played fairly and well, don't be afraid to send a GG.
Twins: Like Mikey, you kind of like scaring people. I can't tell you how many times I've screamed because Victor has jump scared me. You have an attachment to both of them, You try not to rely on just one of them and almost feel bad for not using both equally.
Blight: Don't deny you like pinball (no shame though). You like strategy and learning new techniques. Keep yourself mentally stimulated or you go nuts. You might really like the Zero Escape series, lots of puzzles.
Close, I just like to slam my head in to walls.
-
Assuming that its an experienced killer then I would say Trapper, Clown or Myers. Wraith was in this list but with his recent buffs I think he would be fine.
-
I would say Blueprints because of keys but those will hopefully change soon so I'm going with Shrouds. These either need to be removed or swapped since they are harmful to the side that brings them. No killers wants survivors to be split up on gens at the start, and survivors rarely want to spawn bunched up together.
-
You should post ideas like this in "Feedback and Suggestions".
-
It's on and it's 10 times better than it was a year ago, but it does still have problems. I was just recently chainsawed by a Bubba from the other side of a rock in Ormond so I can't really defend it.
If you were hit right when you were dropping a pallet that has nothing to do with hit validation, that's how the combination of ping and hitboxes work and can't be fixed so try to not drop pallets if the killer is swinging.
-
You fault wasn't anything with your build, but to take some salty players seriously enough to post here. You can play survivor and people will complain about strong perks too. Many people can't accept the fact that they lost a game and like to blame it on anything else they find other than themselves.
-
I'm gonna assume you play with the intention to escape, which I wouldn't recommend in Solo Queue or you will get disappointed more often than not. For that your best bet is to carry your team and play very safe.
- Borrowed Time is a necessity in my eyes because of how few people bring Decisive Strike.
- Decisive Strike is a necessity in my eyes because of how few people bring Borrowed Time.
- Dead Hard is extremely useful because of how many times people will run away from you like you are the killer instead of healing you. Also it allows you to do insane plays you wouldn't get to do otherwise. Sprint Burst and such are also strong but not even close to the safety Dead Hard gives while on a gen or in a chase.
- Spine Chill is an extremely underrated perk in Solo Queue, because of the lack of information you have from not having voice comms an information perk is extremely handy and Spine Chill is one of the best in its job. This also allows you to play very safe, being able to run the killer for much longer and eliminates the chances killers can sneak up on you.
- Detectives Hunch is okay, not a priority but Solo Queue survivors struggle a lot more against Ruin so this can make your job much easier, also free points.
- Prove Thyself is okay, many Solo Queue survivors don't know what they are doing and tail the first person with a clue they see, so it usually gives you value, also free points.
- Kindered is good since they are more aware when they are throwing the game and are less likely to do it.
- Unbreakable is okay, it's not as influential in Solo Queue as SWF in my eyes because very few teams are good enough to come back from a 4 man slug and how rare that actually happens.
- Deliverance is okay, most killers have no idea what they are doing and chase the first person they see until the end of time so against those you have a 25% chance not being able to use the perk even if you are amazing at looping. Similarly, most killers will also camp and tunnel which reduces the chance you can use this perk even more. But when you get to use it it can turn the tides of a game. Also free points.
- Iron Will is okay, this perk is a chase/stealth/making plays perk but there are more crucial choices for Solo Queue so I wouldn't recommend it most of the time.
Personally what I run is; Dead Hard, Decisive Strike, Borrowed Time, We Are Gonna Live Forever. This is because I play Solo Queue for point farming rather than escaping, your build should meet your goals.
EDIT: Added a few more.
-
That's not the Ruins fault to be honest, but its Solo Queues. This is a similar case with Pop, as long as the killer has one of these perks, and maybe Tinkerer, unless multiple people are working on gens literally no gen will get done. The way you play around it is splitting on gens and doing multiple at once, there is no killer who has the power to stop 3 simultaneous Tinkerer procs but 1 Tinkerer proc at a time is very easy. But as we all know, the ability to hold left mouse button is a seldomly found skill in Solo Queue players.
-
I wouldn't like a week where DS is banned so every single killer tunnels survivors to death, or BT is banned where they camp them to death, or Unbreakable is banned where all games end with 4 people on the ground dying on their first hook. You get the point.
-
Check this site out for details on each emblem: https://deadbydaylight.fandom.com/wiki/Emblems

The thing is the game either has to place you by what is sees, or what you tell them. Currently it is using what it sees, which is obviously not the most accurate. If it were to use what you tell them then the VPN killer problem could rise again. Hit Validation is nowhere near as bad as it was a year ago but it still has many issues where I don't think something like that would be healthy for the game.

What's a failed Dead Hard?
When you Dead Hard on your screen but still go down on the killers.
