The longer I play, the more I get used to them.

Being used to how mechanics work in the game, doesn't necessarily make them balanced or fair.

Well it’s hard to balance around movement speed in any game. I can deal with looping relatively easily; but it usually ends with me pretending to leave and then circle back around to catch the survivor.

I have just accepted that nothing will ever truly probably ever solve the issue.
  • The longer I play, the more I get used to them.
  • Lmao. In a game where rank isn’t recorded post-season.  Stupid kids.

EDIT: I guess for maxing out characters it could make sense but the grind really isn’t that bad.
  • This is the most overly confusing and flawed suggestion I’ve read. Still, obvious faults are good because anyone can correct them, this of course makes it easier for the devs.
  • I swear the percentage goes up the closer Trapper gets to you. 5 times in a row I’ve freed myself JUST as he got to me, and made 5-7 escape attempts every time.
  • I do so much better solo VS SWF. Looking out for #1 means escape is easy.

Seriously. Don’t save people that don’t need saving. If it feels risky, don’t do it. You’d be surprised how much listening to your gut can get you in this game.
  • Where Mattheui Colte comes out and beats the killer senseless with TOS and a ban hammer in the end yes.
  • Pallets and windows. If you’re being tunneled 9/10 times it’s because you’re T-bagging and provoking the damn killer.

You survivor mains sound like this:”I kicked a grizzly bear in his party balloon and he won’t stop chasing me, even for my BBQ sauce covered friends with picnic baskets.  Why isn’t he going after the others? I can’t figure out why he only wants me please SoMEonE HeLp.”

You kick a bear in the dick, he’s gunna make sure you die.  One more nerf to killers and I’m uninstalling. I’m not playing a game to get pissed off. I’ll play something that oh, you know, DELIVERS ON ITS TITLE AS AN ENTERTAINMENT PRODUCT.

Don’t like difficulty? Don’t play online games. There will always be grit and dirt plays in online games. Humans are competitive by nature. Trust me you’re only going to piss people off with this post.

$40... Like I said just Google search it. If you did you would have seen this it's the very first link. There are pages of these shops. $2k for what basically amounts to an on/off switch. LMFAO

Lag switching is useless if the service literally boots you for having high ping you dummy. Read my posts before you think me the unknowledgable one.

    R E A D.
  • Once again, it’s how much higher of a percentage of the match you are likely to spend dangling from a hook or being inactive, that’s the issue. If they found a way to make the game constantly engaging and not rendering controls minuet, there wouldn’t be a problem.

You just want to get away from the killer more because you don’t get to spend enough time doing the fun stuff as survivor and want to attempt it again.

Ignore all that is spoken above. Lag switch is possible on any platform. There's a clear difference between a lag switch and a normal latency issue.

As for the answer to your question, yes, you can report the person. It's also helpful if you record the gameplay. At the moment, there's no ban system for console, but @not_Queen, our community mamager, replied in a similar thread I made, wherein she has assured that they are working on it and we shouldn't stop using the reporting section, since it is all logged in their backend.

Dude its not possible on Xbox one, I have been playing on it for years and I have 1k on dbd itself. Not once have I seen a lag switcher myself or on any of the clubs I'm in for dbd. If it was possible than I assure you it would have been posted on one of those clubs and since that is a popular subject and would receive a lot of attention it would appear on the games official club and yet a clip of lag switching has never been seen. The only things I've seen that is similar to lag switching are clips of players with really bad connection to the host.

I have 1200+ hours on Xbox One and I have encountered only 1 player that I can confirm was lag switching. It is indeed possible (just do a simple Google search for "lag switch Xbox One"). The guy in question I played against at least 5 times, and he lag switched both me and my friend. His connection would be totally fine until you FL him, then he would start chasing you and suddenly the connection goes to #########. Everyone is walking into walls, you get hit when killer isn't anywhere to be seen, and you will suddenly just appear on his shoulder being carried to a hook. Again he did it multiple times to me and a friend. I've played against maybe 5 others that could possibly be a lag switch, but it's hard to say for sure (couple times it would seem like the guy lag switched too hard and DC'ed himself). This guy though I'm 100% positive just because of how consistent things would mess up at the most convenient time and only AFTER you FL him.

It’s possible, but nowhere near the effort and at least $2k to jurryrig that #########. So because it’s a top google search, means it’s easy? Really? That’s your argument? You aren’t trolling? You don’t explain anything like I did. Facts or I dismiss your argument.

So im sick of fake full screen, aka borderless one as you get better performance in exclusive fullscreen mode in any game.
I googled abit and found solution to how to make real fullscreen in DBD, i know that changing user ini should not be a problem, but i just want to confirm that this is not bannable or so.
    Here are steps i took:

    :\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\DeadByDaylight\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor

    Open the file GameUserSettings.ini

Look for these settings and edit the value to 0:

    FullscreenMode=0 LastConfirmedFullscreenMode=0 PreferredFullscreenMode=0

To change the resolution, edit these settings as you wish:

    ResolutionSizeX=1920 ResolutionSizeY=1080 LastUserConfirmedResolutionSizeX=1920 LastUserConfirmedResolutionSizeY=1080

add "-fullscreen" parameter to the launch options in Steam.

You guys don’t have full screen? Oof looks like console has something over the PC version after all.
  • Ignore the peasant that dismissed my knowledge of the subject.

You just wait until you get your first game at rank 10. You are going to get a merciless slap in the face.

funny part is your correct, once you make it to rank 10, all the survivors tea bag (I play console so I can tell when they tea bag) and flashlight claudettes begin to appear, but if you know what your doing you can surpass the rank 10 toxicity

I am also on console haha.

The killers connection was green, if it was red I would have left straight away. Thank you for your reply

The killer will always be green, he’s the host. You are connecting directly to his IP via Peer to Peer connection, the further you are from him, the worse your match quality will be.

If your ping is green before the match starts, that won’t mean much, it can spike at anytime. This isn’t usually the case, but the ping reader in DBD is a little weird. It drops and spikes like crazy upon joining a match and takes a brief moment to calibrate.

Still, latency can be affected whenever, and it’s likely that either his internet or yours suffered packet loss.

Lag switching is currently impossible on Xbox One, since the Xbox Live service will terminate your connection if your ping gets too high;  signing you out of Xbox Live.  You would have to completely reprogram the software, some hardware, and your router to trick XBL into thinking you have a good connection.

This is stupidly complex and tedious and iI assure you that no one out there would be would be willing to do all of that with the risk of being caught and having to do it all over again with a new Xbox.

It’s really bad latency. The servers are strange and drop packets sometimes during a match. This is why matches will outright end at random. They are not always user disconnects, a good majority of them are caused by the servers.
  • You just wait until you get your first game at rank 10. You are going to get a merciless slap in the face.
  • I think the game needs more props to hide inside of, I think Dwight could really shine there.
  • I mean, it’s long overdue. How is the killer supposed to be scary if he isn’t strong? You just have to hide. You need to learn to really utilize your hiding capability as a survivor with that third person view.

If you want ro blame anyone, blame the 360 loopers that are the sole reason the nurse was created, and also the reason for all the buffs. The game wasn’t designed with 360’s in mind, but the devs liked the strategy so much that they have been carefully tweaking the balance around 360’s and their potential to control the killer, so that it becomes a natural part of the game’s core mechanics.
  • I have never had a problem playing against a killer as survivor. Just hide better.  Hide as much as possible.
  • That’s not a lag switch, that’s 750 ping. You were red-barring like a MF.

For those of you who played day one, remember when wraith and trapper had their own tracks that played while in idle phase? (Looking for survivors)

These themes you’ll recognize partly because they were toned down and made into universal tracks that every killer can hear, however the original versions really complimented the play style of their killer.

of course now only a bass version of the Trapper’s theme, “Cruelty” can be heard which is the only other track besides ‘Unstable’ and ‘Hiding’ that plays while stalking around as killer.

For those of you that would like a listen, here’s the trapper’s theme. This played while on McMillan Estate as Trapper, or when all Bear traps were armed as Trapper. image

Those of you who play pig will recognize the bass in this track, as it was later remixed and can be heard almost always when either ending a chase while crouched, or when there is an RBT on a survivor.

As for the wraith, his theme,”Hiding” is also still available in the game, but is no longer the same version, sharing the same change as Trapper’s theme. His once exclusive variation of this track can be found here.  image

I think killers desperately need more in-game tracks.

God I would love if each killer had their own chase theme/terror radius theme. I would make it really feel like you are THAT killer, and make it more immersive. I think the game just doesn't have enough atmosphere for the killer side of things.

The killer atmosphere for me wore off after my first few days of playing, it became a 100% competitive environment and no immersion.

  • What’s a pallet? Is that the thing that makes me look at the floor for like 2 full seconds during a chase? I never get to see what it is.
  • You can always play CIV 5 or RDR2.....

or get better at the game and actually try not to get caught for once you know.

It's a pretty bad idea if I'm honest - if you're genuinely trying to escape and being chased by the killer and he enters the gate area you're locked in for no other reason apart from killers want more easy end game kills.

Maybe instead of outright closing the gates, simply allow 1 survivor to pass through every 20 seconds.

Another "[BAD WORD] you" to one part of their community.

And even more worse considering they're completely unwilling to balance the game around the power that a SWF squad have. They prefer to just play around a bit around solo 20 survivors..

It's almost like they don't play their own game and haven't experienced it at the highest rank..

SWF isn't hard to beat I honestly don't understand why people act as if no SWF team has ever been destroyed before, if they're SWF and you kill 2 or more then you did well, you don't have to kill all of them for it to be a win, and just because you don't kill all of them doesn't mean they're overpowered lol.

I’m going to agree with the loud mouth for a change. I have never struggled with SWF, and I’ve never ever noticed a difference.

If anything, the exploitable altruism makes it a much more fair experience for me. With blueberries you often are straight left for dead lmao.

@DarkWo1f997 ethical?  The devs stated that there is nothing wrong with doing 360s, end of story. I have no idea how a 360 could be declared ethical though. That’s a new one on me.
The OP is being hysterical and didn’t try to overcome a 360. I’m using words like “Ethical” to get through to him that it’s possible to outplay it if you just pay attention and practice a little. No one on the forums listens, they only argue. So I got to use them big words.
  • Ending this debate once and for all. Here your irrefutable proof that console 360’s are 100% ethical and should not be changed. All footage captured was against SWF groups at rank 5 and 4.

EDIT: all footage captured today and over the course of 30 minutes.

Blood and scratches are there if you don't hear the survivor you know in what direction he went

And how exactly are you supposed to hear the entity’s whisper, or survivor heartbeat if you can’t hear?
You can tell when whispers is activated because the perk lights up. A heart beat indicator could be added for the heart beat situation.
Yes but I think another visual queue could help them identify when it’s on. Noise notifications should have arrows to catch their attention, and I think a pulsing red on the corners of the screen that gets faster can solve the heartbeat issue. Of perhaps maybe even have a heart rate meter like sniper elite does, added to the hud.

I felt before the recent patch at rank 1 I survived about 50-60% of the time in solo. But currently during the event it's kind of like...10% maybe? Because everyone is milking flowers instead of doing objectives, and usually the first persons chase even if it lasts 3 minutes, no ones done a gen and that's already someone hooked and nothings been done.

But I did feel like the survive rate went down immediately during the last patch, even before the event. I'm not amazing at chases, and being immersed and hiding isn't viable either because it gives no blood points, and de-ranks you way too easily. But it feels like a lot of the things I abused before are gone, and chases are much quicker.

On the killers end, it feels way, way easier. Almost every game I've played has been a 4k, with the event currently the hatch hasn't even come into play in the last 5 games. Well...it was a 4k with my Michael, it wasn't when I tried out Freddy and Pig for the first time ever, but I didn't have any good perks and still did pretty well.

SWF's I think is really strong, I think solo play is lopsided in the killers favor by a good margin. It's also easy to avoid SWF if you are that afraid of them. I know some days I don't feel like dealing with it, and just leave a lobby when 3-4 instantly pop in.

Games are easier after rank reset? Say it ain't so. I wonder if that could be because of all the low ranks you suddenly get matched with. No that can't be it must've been the balance changes

Yeah a lot of people get to rank 1 then wait for reset and play KYF. And you’ll get your ass handed to you by people you’ve never played against that play like rank legendary rank 1’s at rank 10.

The killer usually loses about 5-8 meters at pallets and windows. This is why bloodlust exists, the killer will eventually be quick enough to start gaining ground on the survivor and rendering the loop useless.

I was not talking about, nor did I intend to mention the hot mess of garbage that is bloodlust.

Additionally, I was not mentioning the distance gained at a pallet or window. That's generally an easy set of calculations.

(pallet drop time + pallet break time) * (survivor movement speed of 4.0 meters/second) = distance gained by a survivor by dropping a pallet when the killer breaks it. Since the majority of pallets are safe pallets that the killer is forced to break anyways, this is generally the applicable calculation method of pallet distance gain.

(killer vault time) * (survivor movement speed of 4.0 meters/second) = minimum distance gained by a survivor by going through a helpful window.

Bloodlust is usually not worth factoring into these calculations, since most pallets force killers to break them to resume the chase if the survivor knows what they're doing, and bloodlust is lost by breaking pallets. Usually, more bloodlust is lost by playing the back-and-forth game at the safer pallets, than bloodlust is gained, since the game doesn't count it as a chase unless the survivor is running at a close distance in line of sight. Bloodlust is pathetic at the moment.

Ok, well killers do not lose speed for any reason. No calculations needed. The only possible logical thing you might be implying, is the distance lost when moving around obstacles that survivors can go through. There is literally actually no speed slow down at all.

You’re basically asking if there is BloodFlacid, or BloodSenile. No. No there isn’t.

I think Survivors forget just how easy it is for them to win, yet whine and cry when killer gets a small buff either way.

EVERYONE forgets about the solo lose rate.... solo players lose over 70% of matches at rank 1. They tie 20%. Which means they win..... 10%

    - pallets will keep them safe during chases
    - window loops will always kiss it better
    - they can break every hook on the map if they are quick and leave the killer waiting 3 minutes to hook his first victim.
    - WGLF exists
    - Dying Light, a perk meant to cripple survivors, actually benefits them for a majority of the match until the obsession is killed.... if you aren’t body blocking him the whole match.
    - Sprint Burst will always be your safe space
    - you can make the killer your ######### and troll him
    - you suffer no penalties while bleeding. You aren’t actually in any danger.
    - you don’t need items and addons, killers DO.
