  • The killer usually loses about 5-8 meters at pallets and windows. This is why bloodlust exists, the killer will eventually be quick enough to start gaining ground on the survivor and rendering the loop useless.
  • I like to slug. I leave survivors alone at the flowers but nothing slows the game down more than thanatophopia and wack-a-mole strat.
  • I personally think the trapper would be more fun to play if his traps spawned in armed. Would take a lot of stress off of the player imo.
  • Wraith’s only. None of the others were worth the torment of the grind.
  • I hope they fix this. Anything with physics on a survivor will stretch from an unseen corner of the map and whiplash to their location, giving them away. It used to startle me sometimes as killer because I had no idea what it was.

Except no. Every survivor is rushing vials. They’ll get demolished by even the worst killers. Nothing will be learned

I have demolished a few killers already that have no idea how to play and that even used controller to play

    Just rank 20 things.

Come to think of it, and this might just me remembering it wrong, wasn't there a time that a specific Killer would force themself to forfeit and/or DC if they hit a Survivor?
It's a vague memory, so apologies if this isn't true at all, but it might be back in a new, more rare-to-achieve form.

I think I may have heard of that. Possibly hag.
  • I think it’s a glitch.

    Good!

Wraith has gotten the best skin in the game’s history. I tried him for the first time today. No idea why I do so well with him.
  • And doctors, and lawyers, and stairs.

    Are you Francis?
  • It’s usually a lot smarter to drive them into the corn and leave them be. This way, you can heard and trap them into a small area. You can watch the movmement of the corn plants to tell when they are trying to leave.

I personally never have issues of any kind in the corn, maybe it’s because I run sideways and look down the corn rows to make tracking a cake walk.
  • It’s taught me that HAZE is now canon to Dead By Daylight because of NECTAR.

If there is a period of time with a connection issue, we don't count it for that month. For example, around the time the pig was released, there were a lot of connection issues for the first few days. We did not count them.

So you won't get banned because of server issues.

    Thank god. Thanks for responding.

    No

in real life you can dodge hits too... think about it a little harder and also understand game mechanics more..

In real life if a child rushes in my direction while I'm swinging at them since survivors are like children compared to the killer, the child is still getting stabbed. 360 shouldn't work. It's an exploit.

Actually in real life you would brake your ankles since survivors ignore Newton’s Law of Motion. The momentum and force that should be applied when making such a tight turn doesn’t exist. There’s simply no way you fluidly 360° in such a tight turn radius. You will fall on your ass.

    Right?
I'd like to see different Hatchets & Bear Traps too, or at least Hatchets.
Or a new Bell for my hole Wraith. :)

What if they made Christmas wreaths with teeth as beartraps for trapper’s Christmas skin?
  • Don’t move the camera, swerve side to side so they collide with you.

Little trick I discovered a while back, the 360° is useless if you do this.

    @Peanits @MandyTalk @not_Queen

Better hold off of your DC bans until you fix this. Still an issue a month later. Infuriating. Lost offerings and addons.

You are not geting banned for a single DC, no worries

    It happens a lot though.

The statement is 100% appropriate. You're just mad you got called out on trying to falsely equate this to dc bans.

I don’t see how it’s appropriate. It WILL equate to DC bans because this issue runs rampant on Xbox and when BHVR’s enforcement system comes to console, this can get you banned.

Explain to me how exactly that doesn’t equate to banning.

I really want a dev to answer this, half the time I never noticed it cause I would just get smacked vaulting, but against an afk killer I messed around the match and noticed randomized animation lag that actually would cause my character to be immobile for half a second. It feels like the same crap that happened with the pallets a few patches back.

The afk killer is probably streaming netflix in the background while deranking, thats why the latency isnt the best

    Lol that’s great.
  • DayQuil can cause fatigue. Maybe it’s our culprit?

There’s a lot of really weird animation stuff going on this patch. Including killer hook animations lol.

    It was sarcasm.

The socially awkward can’t detect sarcasm.
  • Happened twice to me after 2.3.0 but never before. Did it happen to you prior to updating?
During 2.2.0 it happened all the time. At least 45% of my matches.  Stopped at 2.3.0. Came back in 2.3.1.
  • Eross1b said:

Pretty sure that doesn't count as a disconnect. It has to be intentional.

I kind of can’t cause an instant disconnect at the precise moment I hit a survivor. That’s implying I had someone ready to pull my Ethernet cable, and even then it takes a few seconds to disconnect.

Too much effort to stage something like that. And there’s really no reason to.

That’s not a disagreement. That’s being a twat.  Learn the difference.

Incorrect. A lot of people on Xbox are having the same issue.

EDIT: this is not my post. Disregard. Don’t know why I’m getting notifications for it like it is. That’s really weird. Sorry.
  • You fill a vial like every game. I guess it'd be fine. But people would earn so much BP's and iridescent shards that it would be silly.

Well it’s silly right now, but what about when we have a roster of like 50 killers in like three years? That is a lot of grinding lol
  • I tend to run into the opposite problem. I'll start a match at 2/3 of a vial and can't even complete one harvest. Then I'm trying to beg my team to harvest so I'll get the bonus bloodpoints.

Yeah I don’t like the race for the pods. Hehe pod racing. Hehe. Stupid Star Wars episode 1 reference. I have no friends...

    I’ll leave.

But seriously, it’s really anxiety inducing to try and beat others to it.
  • @Boss I don’t think I know what game I’m playing either. To me it seems like you’ve been on the game since release, I’ve been here since mid August. I’m so used to SWF and it being a normal part of the game for me that altruism seems 100% mandatory. And in a way it is now.

But you’ve managed to turn survivor play into a 1v1v1v1.

Isn't that what the game is supposed to be normally as well?

Y'know, the concept of: "You're not a team, but teamwork will make it easier."

I’m having a rough day, apologies. But no, you are a team. Self care is slower than being healed by a teammate, no perks are required to heal teammates, coop actions speed up healing and generator speeds.

I dont see a feasible argument for it being a free for all. I just don’t.

There are way too many things in the game that incentivize helping eachother

It's fine if you don't see it, i'm not gonna force you to.
But it CAN be a team game, it isn't JUST a team game.

I’m sorry. I feel like such a jerk right now. Really should stay off the forums when I’m mad about something else.

What the hell? Are you serious? Now I know you’re blindly defending this game.

Everyone with a brain brain knows that you are a team. You know, with perks for altruism, and a mandatory altruism emblem to fill up during a match?

I cant stand people that just come up with twisted logic to explain a problem in the game as “an intentional intelligent design decision”. I hate it so much. Can you let me give criticism and not be annoying like this?

It is a team game. You need eachother to survive. You can’t quick time event your way off the hook dude.

  • Sir can I please use this for ps4 I do it with a few rank one players so I would like to set up a training school for other players that are intersted
Lol go ahead. We need the playerbase to grow, and the game turns off a lot of newcomers who get frustrated.
  • Easiest pointers to instantly improve performance.

    As a survivor:
    - don’t navigate the fog, look for the towering light posts, they are attached to one generator each. Look up, not forward.

    - The Fog is your friend, use it to hide and move as stealthily as possible.

    - Don’t sprint everywhere, the killer sees very bright orange scratch marks that are left behind to track survivors while they are sprinting. No sprinting means zero tracking potential. If you’re clever, you can create a false trail by sprinting in one direction, and then stopping and walking in a different direction.

    - Bob and weave, since you are using controller, you can 360° much easier than keyboard + mouse players. Move the left thumb stick clockwise, while pushing the right thumb stick to the left. You can do it in the other direction as well by going counter clockwise and turning the camera to the right.
Make sure your sensitivity is all the way up. This is the best way to juke the killer out during chases.

    - Respect the heartbeat, when you hear it, or the music starts kicking in, duck and hide behind anything you can, move only when necessary, and try to locate the killer by looking around.

    - Don’t be a hero, you need to remember that a survivor who is hooked is a side objective. You need eachother to survive, but if they can’t fend for themselves and actually avoid the killer, leave them.  Use your judgement and your gut to decide whether to save or flee.

    As a killer:

    - Aggression, chase survivors and commit to chases. If you can’t catch someone, resume patrolling gens and turn around to see if you can catch them following you. You need to outwit the survivors, not the other way around. Unfortunately survivors are a lot more powerful than you.

    - Priority, if you feel pressured because generators are being done too quickly, or you aren’t getting enough hooks five minutes into the match. Listen to your gut, find 3 generators that are very close together, and patrol them, and only them. Put the pressure back on the survivors. Force them to come to you.

3 Gen Strat, If you feel you can’t win, find 3 generators that are very close together, patrol them. Do not leave for anything. When there is one generator left, they will need to repair one of those 3 generators. do not commit to chases, continuously injure survivors and break away from chases, do not become distracted. Keep kicking those gens! The idea is to dwindle their first aid supplies, and lul them into a false sense of security, after about five minutes, the next survivor you injure, continue to chase them. If you don’t think you can down them, return to the generators, you must make this decision quickly. Do not stray too far from the generators until you KNOW you can take that survivor down and hook them.
And try to slug and use deer stalker so you can slow them down and get more hurt
Only slug when you can afford it. It’s a gamble, make sure you have at least 4 hooks before slugging, unless you know you can get a second one downed.
1 … 13 14 15 16 17 … 26
