Only slug when you can afford it. It’s a gamble, make sure you have at least 4 hooks before slugging, unless you know you can get a second one downed.redsopine1 said:

As a survivor:
- don’t navigate the fog, look for the towering light posts, they are attached to one generator each. Look up, not forward.
- The Fog is your friend, use it to hide and move as stealthily as possible.
- Don’t sprint everywhere, the killer sees very bright orange scratch marks that are left behind to track survivors while they are sprinting. No sprinting means zero tracking potential. If you’re clever, you can create a false trail by sprinting in one direction, and then stopping and walking in a different direction.
- Bob and weave, since you are using controller, you can 360° much easier than keyboard + mouse players. Move the left thumb stick clockwise, while pushing the right thumb stick to the left. You can do it in the other direction as well by going counter clockwise and turning the camera to the right.
Make sure your sensitivity is all the way up. This is the best way to juke the killer out during chases.
- Respect the heartbeat, when you hear it, or the music starts kicking in, duck and hide behind anything you can, move only when necessary, and try to locate the killer by looking around.
- Don’t be a hero, you need to remember that a survivor who is hooked is a side objective. You need eachother to survive, but if they can’t fend for themselves and actually avoid the killer, leave them. Use your judgement and your gut to decide whether to save or flee.
As a killer:
- Aggression, chase survivors and commit to chases. If you can’t catch someone, resume patrolling gens and turn around to see if you can catch them following you. You need to outwit the survivors, not the other way around. Unfortunately survivors are a lot more powerful than you.
- Priority, if you feel pressured because generators are being done too quickly, or you aren’t getting enough hooks five minutes into the match. Listen to your gut, find 3 generators that are very close together, and patrol them, and only them. Put the pressure back on the survivors. Force them to come to you.
3 Gen Strat, If you feel you can’t win, find 3 generators that are very close together, patrol them. Do not leave for anything. When there is one generator left, they will need to repair one of those 3 generators. do not commit to chases, continuously injure survivors and break away from chases, do not become distracted. Keep kicking those gens! The idea is to dwindle their first aid supplies, and lul them into a false sense of security, after about five minutes, the next survivor you injure, continue to chase them. If you don’t think you can down them, return to the generators, you must make this decision quickly. Do not stray too far from the generators until you KNOW you can take that survivor down and hook them.

I don’t have leatherface and therefore I don’t have BBQ and Chili.FrenziedRoach said:If you really want to know if it's safe to leave a hook, run BBQ and Chili.
Whispers should get the job done. It makes the hunt more engaging and less uneventful. -
It’s not mandatory. I don’t use it and I do fine. It’s probably mandatory for certain playstyles though.DeadByFlashlight said:Ruin already is a mandatory perk and almost every killer uses it.
They need to rework the whole gen mechanic, because killers are just under insane time pressure and its really boring to hold M1 on the survivor side. Then they need to adress SWF balance which is one of the biggest problems of the game
-
Rank 3 is 32 meters. BBQ and chili does the same thing except you can see the auras. Following a killer closely to a hook is stupid. Borderline suicidal.tehshadowman33 said:It's deliberate.
Otherwise, with this perk, safe unhooks would be 100% impossible for survivors.
You could stand 40 m away from the hook, and the moment that light turns on, you'd head for the hook.
It'd be really unfair.
And I'm a 1,500 hour freddy Main.

Its not like the killer will know where the survivor is immediately. The killer only knows that the survivor is within 32 meters in one of many different directions. They could be close, they could be on the border of the 32m proximity. You have to hunt, the survivor can easily move out of the radius when it’s obvious that the killer is looking around for them.
Its not powerful by any means, it doesn’t need to be, but it also shouldn’t frustrate me with false alarms either. -
This community is hopeless. The skins are nothing to cry about. Wraith’s is the only one I’m getting.
-
So that must mean that sabotaging hooks as a killer walks up to them, and gen tapping as soon as the killer tries to resume patrolling, is also trolling.
-
There’s this thing called snipe lunge. if you land a hit at the very end of the lunge duration, it’s a lot easier to land because you get a sense of timing, and is far more rewarding.
This may be because experienced killers like myself have gotten the timing down perfectly and are rewarded for that. We speed up quite a bit while lunging, so hitting you right as you drop a pallet is possible. It’s really difficult to learn, but possible.
If you dont drop the pallet and instead continue running, we miss the hit, then you can run back to the pallet and drop it on us. Some killers anticipate this and keep going forwards anyways. It’s all part of the mind game my little snowflake.
See how much easier it is to solve your problems when you use your brain?
-
Then I suggest staying hidden or sabotaging the killer’s event hooks. Works wonders you know

Killing #########. Same as always.

I’m so tired of reading about skins and prices. Is anywhere safe?

This is more of an immersion thing than an enjoyment thing. Though those two intertwine, I don’t think immersion can make losing fun. Not unless it’s impactful. There would need to be no bleedout death screen. It would need to be blurry and show the results right there and then.
That sounds cooler to me tbh, seeing that blurry live feed of your corpse on the ground after a mori or bleedout while your results are displayed on screen would really add weight to dying. It would give the game more feeling to it. More flavor.
Just my opinion though. -
Yes. Take self care little mortal. Cling to your false hope.

No pig cosmetics? Then I’m not interested. Period.
Why do people want cosmetics that make them easier to see? -
1. Find hatch
2. Sit on top of hatch
3. Scroll through Twitter and wait for that survivor to leave via exit gates. -
There’s people that actually enjoy grinding?
Do you enjoy chores too? You must love working. I envy you on that. -
How does this guy not have bars? 🤣
-
Great. Gens are being done slower and survivors have a chance to actually wiggle free. It’s a fantastic patch.
-
Ever since the patch dropped I’ve noticed that my matches last significantly longer. Equip whispers and keep up the pressure during your patrols. It really does work wonders.Wraff said:@PinkEricka said:
Nah, that’s would be unnecessary. Survivors just need a second objective. Maybe equip something else other than a hex?I do and Gens are done within less then 3 minutes. This Heal nerf was the Dev's to 'solve the speed of the game'. Figures that not actually addressing the issue directly wouldnt work.

"I can't watch his content for 3 seconds, but I know that he never gets mad and that makes him creepy" ok buddy.
Yeah sorry but the friend friend friend every 3 seconds makes me cringe so [BAD WORD] hard. Are we playing DEAD by daylight or are we playing hello kitty island?
It's just like saying "Whats up dude", "hey man", "whats up my guy". Sorry that you find common phrases cringeworthy, I can't wait to find out what you have to moan about next.
Yeah once maybe, not everytime you see someone. Holy ######### calling people my friend pisses me off, my father called me "my friend" when I was a child, even as a child I knew it sounded idiotic.

Roses are red
Violets are Violet
Encounters with jumpscares Myers
Are usually violent. -
I run hangman’s trick for every killer. It’s a must have for me. I run STBFL, Deerstalker, Hangman’s, and Whispers.
In other words, even if they sabo it, it won’t matter. They’ll still die.
As for totems and their Halloween objectives. I never bother them when they are messing with things that aren’t generators. -
My dude, Xbox Live Enforcement is the most active online mod team. Use the first party service, it does it’s job, I promise.

I stream. I make weird noises. I oink. I constantly say stupidly weird things. Somehow I have a small following.
Thanks to mixer, your stream advertises itself so you don’t have to. It’s nice being able to talk to myself when I play killer. For some reason it helps, and streaming validates that so I don’t look crazy. -

@Lowbei while I agree, I want more music for the killer side. More chase themes. I wish whispers was just the survivor’s music that gets more intense the closer you get to them. I wish the killer felt like a badass when playing someone other than Myers.
The reason people tend to naturally do better with Myers is because his music fills the killer with confidence. The game treats you as a badass, loud thudding footsteps, the ability to one-down, tiny terror radius, badass music for leveling up evil within III, a chase theme that tells you to “go get em, you’re the boss here.”
Myer’s chase theme makes the killer feel like a wrecking ball of death and destruction, and makes eh survivors panic and feel afraid. I wish there was more chase tracks while playing killer. I love the chase tracks, but they only play two. We need more. -
With SWF groups I ignore gens almost completely. All I need is the escape phase, slug one, put a party hat on him, and hide with deerstalker and wait from a distance. Their overly altruistic nature usually results in a 3 to 4K game every time.WarStRiKeR117 said:Swf group are easy to counter. There is always going to be one built for distracting and 2 running borrowed. Once you establish who is built for distracting leave that person alone until the end. And don't camp or tunnel or they will hit you with borrowed and they will change their tactics and just do gens...this strategy works every time at rank 1. Killer is ridiculesly easy if your smart. Swf groups can be annoying BUT your complaining about it and your only rank 15. Eventually you'll learn to counter them with meta perks like noed, bbq, rancor, sloppy, ruin (except survivors always find that in less then 1 second) -
It’s not a big deal normally, but when a killer gets flamed and frustrated, T-bagging is then viewed through an entirely different scope. It goes from lighthearted fun, to rubbing in the humility of a 0k game. It makes everything worse.
-
Which is why I forced myself to endure getting good without using addons or offerings. It paid off.

I think running adept characters should turn their perks pink if they are the only one playing that survivor character.
Same with killer. -

I think being able to shatter the illusion of the
Player who is playing killer being a heartless bastard would be good in general. The ability to express emotion in any way would put survivors at ease and let them know that the killer they are playing against is still a player just like them, and can let them know that they are a good sport. Via wave or point.
A lot of this community stops being toxic if you are nice about it. 10/10 times when someone is a jerk to me, if I stay civil and polite they immediately apologize and tell me they aren’t used to killers that aren’t toxic.
EDIT: killers should be able to emote while moving. It’s important in FPP. -
I’m not saying Myers should be able to chase survivors while dabbing, I just want it for the scare factor. I really get into it when I play killer. I’ll purposefully corner a survivor, and very slowly creep towards them (since I’m using analog sticks) and just scare them and toy with them before killing them.Mr_Myers said:I pray not

Why do we not have a volume slider for in game music?
-
The fact that you engaged with and provoked the situation makes you part of the problem. Either disconnect, or submit a report via first party services and move on.
I used to combat toxicity like you, but then I realized that it’s not worth the energy. It stopped being fun because the game is already stressful enough. -
@Peanits I’ve had one here too that flew under the radar. It’s extensively thought out to prevent balance issues.

Unfortunately, this game is now dead on Xbox officially thanks to Black Ops 4. Even as killer, 15 minutes of waiting and still not even a single survivor joins the lobby.
The kingdom has fallen.

I just had a match I know was 4 people in a group because They all shared variations on the same name.
Guess how many I actually got to SEE when everyone is together in Discord?
Oh, sorry, you're not that intelligent. I saw ZERO because they were able to communicate and say where I was, and what I was doing, and who I was going after.
But the Devs thought nerfing Killers was fine, because Survivors whined. Then the Devs felt a Survive with friends mode would NEVER be unfair to the LONE GOD DAMN KILLER.
The killer has to be good enough to hit Survivors AT LEAST 12 damn times to have a chance at killing everyone.
That's not counting when people get off hooks, when people heal, etc.
That's AT MINIMUM.
But no, no. I'm bad. Ok. Nevermind that Survivors have it freaking easy with Sprint Burst, and t hat newer perk that REMOVES THEIR GOD DAMNED HITBOX while they dash forward..
Yeah, survivors can become IMMUNE TO DAMAGE.
I bet you'd be here whining like a ######### if any Killers got a perk to insta-break any pallet smashed over their head.
Because the Survivors are whiny bitches who need to win 100% of the time, and the Devs were stupid enough to listen when the game was new.
I bet you only play Survivor and delude yourself into thinking you have skill when the game practically holds your hand.
So youre blaming voice chat to excuse your incredible lack of skill and smarts in this easy game? Nah don't whine about killer perks. Game isn't even worth crying about.
"incredible lack of skill" big words coming from you, any player with half a brain can see the tremendous advantage voice comms give, you are either so bad at the game you cant see that or straight up lying in order to keep the game in your favor
-
I can assure you that neither killer nor survivor enjoy this.

To combat smurf survivors, play defensively. De-ranked survivor groups are going to be way too altruistic. When you get down to one generator, commit to your next chase, down him, hook him, and camp him.
Patrol in a small 10 meter radius around the hook, weaving between objects that break line of sight, to bait them, if you see a survivor attempting to unhook, grab him, if you’re too far and he successfully frees his friend, wait for the animation to finish, and whack the injured one, and hook once more, repeat this process to secure the kill.
If you get lucky, you can down another and hook him and secure a second kill if you follow the process, once you get good at this strategy, you can turn escape phases into 4Ks.
