not really, she's a strong killer and most veteran DBD players will agree that she's the best killer in dead by daylight right now. her mechanism of blinking to injure, wait for fatigue, then blink and down again is by far the most overpowered. no other killer can do this and sure, there have been some nerfs but she is definitely not in F tier. if you can't play her well, that's just you but her power is definitely really good especially against good survivors

Maybe on PC but she is ABSOLUTE TRASH on console. Survivors can now outrun you anywhere and you get punished even more using her power. In red ranks you have zero room for error and zero time for all that blink fatigue and cooldown crap that adds up. You have to find them and blink to them first and by the time you get to the other side of the map with her you can kiss at least a gen or two goodbye. Even looking at her add ons it looks like the devs said "Sorry not sorry we nerfed Nurse. Here's some non-existent effects to make up for when survivors dance around you like a tether ball pole."

  • @LegionGhostface said:

Honestly, I get that her nerf was a really hard one that requires people to have much more skill when playing her, but she's still like the best killer in the game right now. Do you guys not find her fun or instead, hard to learn? my last game when i went against a nurse was a week ago and she camped me the entire game cuz i ran her for 3 gens and she dced once i was unhooked right when my adren kicked in. but honestly, i found it fun going against skilled nurses and i can barely find any now. #########?? :(

She's trash right now. Might as well be F tier because she has zero mobility now, her add ons are a joke, and hibernates for every offensive action. Before you were punished through learning her. Now you're just plain punished for playing her.

    When NOED changes.

Its easy to throw the game taking one survivor out knowing you have a crutch that will net you at least another kill, maybe more.

Well it's easy to throw games when survivors have the devs on their side and fail to address longstanding issues. Expect NOED to get abused in the new meta.

  • I think it depends on your cosmetics. I equipped the flashier ones and consistently had the issue. Since I've used more subdued cosmetics it doesn't happen as much. The notifications don't help the frame rate either...

  • I noticed that last night. It's their way of celebrating the death of Ruin by finally hitting skill checks faster. The new meta is slug, camp, mori all the time now.

  • @Crimbojambo said:

Hurr hurr rip a crutch perk. I didn't see this much fanfare and belly aching when Decisive Strike and Mettle of Man getting utterly destroyed to pave the way for tunneling. Which I might add that I, as q survivor main fully accept your "taboo" tactics as part of the game, albiet relying too heavy on them can lead to weak killers. Time to buckle up buttercup and adapt.

That's because you had about half a dozen other crutch perks to fall back on, Bailout McCarry.

Honestly, the ruin rework is one of the best things that ever happened to this game.

It is just great specially at end game, makes it really hard to get those last two gens completed and for killer that can apply good pressure from early game, is gonna be insanely helpful.

Just adapt, both killers and survivors, and enjoy the game. I really think is a lot better now.

New Ruin is trash and nothing has been addressed about why it was needed in the first place. You will never convince anyone other than survivor mains otherwise. Unless...

  • @Mister_xD said:

    no thanks.

i dont like the survivor playstyle that much - and i wouldnt want to piss off the killers i play with for "the greater good".

I don't like it either but you're always going to piss someone off simply by being in the game. With Ruin gone, by the time you piss someone off, you'll be at the exit gates in no time unless you're dealing with a fraction of the killers in the game. But more power to you if you don't.

  • I play Demo but he took a back seat to Oni and had him perked out faster. I like Demo but the fact that his power depends on survivors not cleansing portals is problematic at best.

  • No it's not about them doing their job, it's the speed in which it's done that shuts the game down with little to no interaction with killers but it doesn't exist in a vacuum.

  • @Zombra808 said:

Yes, bloat the stats to favor your ideal idea of what the stats will look like. While you do that, I will die every match to show killers get too many 4Ks. Even, gen rushing isn't a thing. The only time it happens is when multiple people bring a toolbox with really good addons and prove thyself, which rarely ever happens. It's just survivors doing their objective, maybe bring some other gen slow perks like, pop, dying light, thanat, surveillance, sloppy, etc.

It's not "bloating" stats in your favor if actual gameplay issues exist. If a survivor's job is to do gens and they need data, then work as efficiently as possible and see what happens. And I'm a red rank killer on console and I come across that setup often, with the average being 2 toolboxes and good add-ons with at least one Dwight or someone running Prove Thyself. So I'm going to copy what I see. Of course people run slowdown perks, but there are issues with map design, mobility, perk effectiveness, and matchmaking and now is the best time to show that problems exist.

  • @DepressedClownMain said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/120919/time-for-killers-to-gen-rush

So you say genrush exists. What are the survivors supposed to do?

How many times has gen rushed been described as the speed in which gens get done vastly outstrips many killers' ability to compensate, rather than survivors doing their objective? Any decent killer will tell you that you doing your job is not the problem. It's about the issues of the gens themselves as it relates to other factors that work against the killer, the main one being time.

  • It's the same on the Xbox. That is if your frame rate doesn't drop to zero beforehand.

  • I keep multiple screenshots on this issue everytime I see a rainbow of rank to lay at the feet of those who think matchmaking is fine. There should never be a reason for such a blatant discrepancy unless either the system is flawed, or survivors are gaming the system.

  • Break the game then. Switch to survivor and show them what we already know.

  • @GHOSTfaceP3 said:

maybe now the devs can see that gens go to fast with ruin nerf but I’ll just main survivor when it goes live

Switch to survivor and gen rush the ######### out of the game.

  • You all probably paid the price for others gen rushing previous games and the killer took it out on your group to secure kills. Expect to more of that post Ruin

  • You're running Clown and Trapper, strike one.

You're playing by survivor rules while the devs cater to them, strike two.

  • Maybe when they fix the emblem system the game will be balanced around 2K and not just Gatekeeper.

"You don't need Ruin or a crutch perk to succeed in red ranks". Really? Tell that to the majority of red rank survivors running full builds of second chance crutch perks backed by a team of crutch perks. Nice try.

It's easy for a team, not so much for solo. If you "do bones", as in all of them solo you miss out on so many points and likely a pip as everyone else gets the gens and unhooks and chases.

Also everyone knows most survivors ignore totems, so many killers have one perk that can easily turn a 1k into a 3k. Yet here you are acting like it's everyone else that's coddled.

Just take NOED and have the EZ win. No skill required.

Whose fault is it that survivors don't do bones and then lose to a perk and cry "coddled"? The devs just need to hand survivors a perk called "Entitlement" that saves them for their mistakes and erases responsibility for longer periods per tier. At least two groups will be honest about what they expect out of the game.

  • I was thinking that the other day: they're going to force out new killers and even less people will be inclined to learn new killers because games will be over as soon as you start to know what you're doing.

  • With killers that need to set up or low map mobility, Corrupt has taken it's place. Games come down to 1 generator or EGC more often now. But tunneling, slugging, and moris are the order of the day.

  • @T2K said:

    Sounds brutal xD

Do you think focusing on one side lets you perform that good?

Do you think you could perform any better if you would play a bit more survivor?

I think it does. I learn the nuances of killers because a new one has powers inherent to them unlike survivors which are skins and perks. I usually watch others play survivor to get better but I use my killer BPs to level up my David for when I decide to play more of that side.

  • If this game was casual, there would be no ranked matchmaking. IDK why people are still confused by this. Second, OP is right, tunneling and moris will be the norm since gen speeds won't be addressed, the Ruin nerf does nothing to address either that or map issues, and killers are still told to ApPlY pReSsUrE.

  • Over 1100 hrs on killer, 30 minutes on survivor. I happened to start on killer by luck and immediately dealt with the toxic welcome wagon across multiple games. Now I exclusively hunt down the other side and wouldn't have it any other way.

  • Survs spamming noises just gets me to double down on what I'm already doing because it's an obnoxious move and they can do it the whole game for all I care.

Providing pressure on a single survivor let’s 3 survivors have zero pressure while game which creates gen rush for those who are bad enough to have to rely on ruin. Once ruin is changed and you still think tunneling is “efficient” oh man I’ll be waiting for your “why I’m quiting” dbd post. Without rotating and providing constant pressure you’ll get gen rushed. Guess what? Ruin was op, gen times are FINE and survivors are not the power role, UNLESS it’s 4 SWF who all are running Meta perks with toolboxes. Without all of that, killer IS the power role and anyone who thinks otherwise need to learn to “git gud”

Tunneling is efficient. You incorrectly assume that pressure won't be applied elsewhere. In which case, you apply pressure to the weakest point in order to pressure the rest as soon as the opportunity presents. That's why survivors keep getting 2nd chance perks instead of getting "gud". No one complains when survs tunnel gens. Enjoy the new meta if this Ruin nerf goes live.

  • To them, a win for a killer would be switching over to survivor.

  • @Rivyn said:

I figure it would be a fair compromise with Ruin being removed, after all.

Edit: Yes, I'm joking. But then, since 80% of the survivor playerbase does it, and new killers might find it frustrating and insulting, why shouldn't it be removed? Or limited? Only allowed to crouch once every three seconds.

Silly rabbit. Nerfs are for killers.

  • The first one that takes down Ruin. You can't get away with that without paying the price.

  • Might as well practice because it's going to happen at some point. Poor kids can't hit their skill checks.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/119906/dbd-has-the-most-toxic-community-out-of-any-game

Well I’m a killer main who always gets 3k/4K and I don’t go after people who were just unhooked. Just learn how to play good and not like a dick. Really easy.

Tunneling is being efficient. If someone doesn't like it that's too bad. Survivors brought it on themselves with crying for killer nerfs. They better get ready for the new meta.

  • @Poochkips said:

(Ruins nerf seems to be causing a fun uproar...I've started relying on overcharge and PGTW more than ruin.. (Hit or miss tbh.) There seem to be ideas of everyone being toxic from killer side here and passing it around. While some say "It's for pressure related reasons" It feels the anger is being taken out less on the devs and more on the players from killers. However, consider the following that's happened time and time again...anything that seems to make it unfun for survivors devs will nerf. The only thing I see this doing honestly is making the nerf to mori happen a heck of a lot quicker (I'm fine with a mori nerf so long as they nerf keys....) Literally highwaying the nerf to it due to you being angry and wanting to "Make a statement".

    2 things I ask..

    1) Can someone link me or tell me the OFFICIAL changes to Ruin?

    2) Is losing ruins overall strength really as bad as people say it is? Because i made a anger topic a while back about hex ruin being found so quickly. Sometimes within 30 seconds of a match starting, making the perk 100% useless....and honestly, as long as I've gotten 1 hook while ruins up, i can care less if i lose it after because it's at least gotten me that. Sometimes I still get 3 gens popped before i can even catch my first survivor WITH ruin still up. So is it really as useful as everyone says it is? Because i had a lot of people literally throwing it at me that it's a RNG perk and not to be relied on, but the second devs seem to want to change it, everyone here starts rioting and defending it like it was the only perk stopping you from losing. Ruin, imo, was one of those perks that could either be stupid powerful, or stupid weak. If you have bad survivors who can't hit the skill checks, ruin was strong, but as you get up there in ranks 1-8, it's a hell of a lot less effective than it could be. Most don't even bother looking for it. It's just a minor inconvenience. So that being said, is it mainly the new killers that are outraged about it? The setup killers who kinda use it to setup for the beginning of a match? What is it. I really wanna know because i'm getting mixed signals from them people back then telling me not to rely on it and to get good.

Me personally? I'm going to start integrating some of the other perks into my build. So here's my new build idea for the game (Main Pig, Clown, and recently huntress.) PGTW, Overcharge, NoED, BBQ. This seem pretty solid?

Also, because i feel bad for all the survivors seeing killers being dummy toxic towards you, here's a new idea, for all the people who want to be toxic and start bringing mori every game to try and make a point, survivors that see mori just make the game a battle of attrition. You see a mori, just hide for the entire game and see how long you can survive. Literally, only touch a gen to throw off their minds to think you're in the area :P Either the killer will get angry or leave, or eventually find you and kill you. (I think i might wanna add this is somewhat a joke because people will probably try to call out my next point as hypocrisy if i don't)

They wanna make it unfun for you? You make it unfun for them. I get people are angry at ruin change, but seriously, spouting out toxicity to people that have nothing to do with the changes to make your statement, robbing people of their fun just because you're angry is not the way to go. Or do go ahead, you will literally see mori's get nerfed then we'll see 80 threads of "Bye BHVR" if it isn't happening already.

Bring moris. If they get nerfed over everything else, it proves killers right. And if they do then the playerbase will officially crater and you'll have survivors forced to play Bully Simulator 2020. Seems like a good trade off.

Then we should change how "A lot of killers" feel as wining the game. Why should winning the game mean a 4k and not a 2k or even a 3k?

Yes I agree with you that the game basically tells you that you failed if you didn't get a 4k. Which is what they should fix, not removing a mechanic that feeds that last survivor or two hope (which off lore is what the entity feeds off).

They should change how pipping and the messages you see to not seem like you lost if you didn't 4k.

Because people care about ranking up and the higher in rank you go, the emblem system forces you to go for a 4K to make sure you can pip. You can get a 3K and safety pip or worse and 2K and de-pip, especially against optimal survivors. Since I've been in red ranks this reset, I've had a few games where 3 survivors escaped via hatch that the group brought a key.

  • @DBDfan12 said:

the game isn't all about you red ranks. the ruin change is good for the game over all. at the end of the day red ranks, they already have your money and your the most expendable group. FACTS

The game is NEVER about red ranks. If it were then there would be actual incentives for being there and dealing with the BS that comes with playing with people who KNOW how to play the game and exploit the mechanics that are imbalanced. At the end of the day, what happens there still trickles down to the rest of the game and community, Einstein. The game is not hard to learn or reach that level if you put any effort into getting good at the game. But guess it's open season for camping, tunneling, and moris before they get nerfed too so enjoy feeling expendable in game.

  • If these changes go live, I'll just have to ApPlY pReSsUrE by using all my moris with all the killers I play, put the BPs into my one survivor (since they're all just skin puppets), equip toolboxes with a second chance build, and then genrush until they replace all killers with bots. Because they're basically using the data from games to nerf the human player into one at this point. They don't want to listen to killer mains then it's time to show them the way completely abusing their own mechanics as the opposition.

  • @DeadByGayDwight said:

Killer main's input: if y'all can't live without Ruin, then you probably need to reconsider how good you are at killer.

You need to reconsider your current job and apply for the dev team then.

First off I would like to say thank you to BHVR. Yeh your game has bugs and so on but your game is fun, addictive and original.

I'm so bored and tired of seeing posts along the lines of "the Devs don't know what they are doing" or "the Devs are survivor/killer biased". Have you people who moan and ######### actually thought to yourself hang on maybe the game is 90% exactly how the DEVELOPERS AND PROGRAMMERS want it to be? Stop slagging people off just because matches don't go how YOU want 100% of the time.

How about enjoy your survivor bias and shut up.

  • @Levitika said:

I'm relatively new to this game, but more and more frequently I'm becoming the target of Survive With Friends groups of players who make it their goal in life to make mine as miserable as possible for the crime of playing the Killer. Why are there no preventative measures to stop flashlight spam, generator rushing, teabagging, hookbombing, and bodyblocking? Why are players allowed to queue up with their friends for unfair communication advantages over the Killer, with absolutely no incentive to play alternatively? When are developers going to try and make the game actually enjoyable for Killers at all levels of play, instead of making it feel more like an uphill struggle the longer you stay?

Reporting has done nothing. I run into the same toxic people, sometimes even multiple times in the same day. It's genuinely discouraging, and making me regret playing the game.

Mori them. It will make you feel good. If you're a killer, you need to ignore survivor complaints to maintain your sanity. Otherwise you're just prostrating yourself by seeking approval.

  • Man, I look over at her everyday with all her nice perks and cosmetics and think back to the days of having her as a viable character on console.

  • I don't try to rank up I just do. And with the new system, it's harder to do not rank up and not throw a huge amount of games and waste a huge amount of time. I'm sitting at rank 4 in spite of myself because while I think there should be an unranked mode, I don't play games to lose either. So not so simple.

  • The only mercy they should expect is a quick death. If they're toxic, hook 'em, camp 'em, and beat 'em like a pinata if the mood strikes you.

  • @TheRoyalOwl said:

I don't get this whole fun aspect of nurse. How does the cooldown make her not fun? I'd say that you guys are more than likely not having fun because you go into the game thinking that you aren't gonna have fun and considering that nurse is pretty boring to play, the little fun that you would have is swept under your negative mentality going, into the game.

Have you played Nurse? Please tell me how adding a cooldown, on top of fatigue, on top of slow base movement speed is "fun" when you have survivors sprinting across the map like gazelles on steroids? You can't catch anyone unless you run The Game. Fun indeed.

Except nobody was asking for her kit to be changed. Don't pin BHRV over nerfing on survivors.

Really? Because I've been playing this game for a year and there have been countless posts to nerf her all together as well as her base kit. So those people got their wish. That is a fact.

  • @Speshul_Kitten said:

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, it’s the lack of killers at red ranks. They’re just not as interested in the game as they used to be.

It's only going to get worse here on out. There's absolutely no incentive for being in red ranks. De-ranking is a thing too.

  • @gizmo said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/947246#Comment_947246

I mean was there any good nurses on console before the nerf? Let's be real LMFAO.

I don't know any personally because I'm exclusively killer main. But she was still playable and was at least some kind of threat and an option to have if you put the time into her. I'm surprised that the devs didn't "adjust" her basekit so she got slower with every hit and added a stun effect whenever you grabbed a survivor. But nerfs to strong killers overall is par for the course anyway.

  • That data is cool and all but the real issue is the emblem system and you can't ignore it. If I get 2K I can still de-pip. If I get a 3K I can still run the risk of a safety pip. If that's a baseline then killers still get screwed because the system does not reflect that baseline.

  • @gizmo said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/947203#Comment_947203

Look at my other comment, I just said her base kit was broken too. Watch any good killer play her, zubat, scott, tofu, literally anyone and they still dominate with her even without slow down perks. People refuse to accept they're bad or learn to play with her new cooldowns. Get over it, she needed the nerf.

Maybe on PC that's true but not on the Xbox. She's borderline unplayable. She already looks at the ground during fatigue and she's already slow as hell. Then survivors complained that she got in the way of their "fun" because they couldn't handle her so now she gets a cooldown to further hold survivors' hands and walk them to the exit gates.

1 … 6 7 8 9 10 … 14
