Camping is a terrible strategy for slowing the game if you're playing against smart survivors. If you're playing at red ranks you got to assume you are going against smart survivors.
If a killer is camping the hook he is not providing any generator pressure, as the survivors can just complete the generators without being interrupted.
To sum it up camping only works against hook swarmers, but against good survivors you're basically throwing the game by camping, giving the three other survivors an easy escape.
Yes, I play killer at red ranks.
Chances are if you have to camp, it's because the game was already lost within the first two minutes of the game when 2-3 gens have popped with no signs of slowdown against decent survivors, and especially against a coordinated team. At that point, it's not always about a non-existent pip so killers default to their primary objective: killing survivors, not being a gen jockey. If the survs are already running the gens before the camp, they're not going to suddenly break strategy. If they do, at least you get points from them you otherwise wouldn't have gotten by playing survivor rules. Best you can hope for is to leave with your self respect by succeeding at the one thing you're supposed to do.
-
Because I dont trust teammates to do anything properly and they could be using that time to do gens. Half the time they can't even look out for themselves let alone others. Last thing I need is a surv failing skill checks to reveal my location.

Letting people bleed out is pretty toxic though. I only did that once because I was doing an OP Huntress slug build with Iri Head, so I let them bleed out to purposely depip as punishment for using such a toxic build (I was just testing it out to see how strong it was BTW, it's stupidly strong).
Any other time someone bleeds out in my games its because I slugged them and lost them. It's never intentional.
Wait...you punished YOURSELF for slugging? In a game that already punishes killers for doing their job? Do you also open the exit gates and let everyone else go free when you don't slug? Holy ######### that's funny.
-
Reasons to camp:
1) Because it's not bannable
2) Because survs camp hooks and don't wait for you to even leave the area
3) Because survs will try to bully you and unhook in your face
4) Because of gen rush
5) Because of toxic survs
6) Because it's a killer's job to kill
7) Because you can
Thank you for coming to my TED talk
😂

That would be the most underwhelming reveal for this game ever. And they would have to pay WWE for the rights to use Kane. Pass.
-
Console Nurse players since she's absolute trash now.
-
Just ready up an Ebony Mori or 8 and beat on hook. Very cathartic.

The killer shouldn't be able to see what each character brings in the game while in the lobby.
The you'll say a killer shouldn't DC because you all brought toolboxes to end the game in 2 minutes...
-
I de-ranked ahead of reset because I wanted to play a new killer and actually have time to learn them as opposed to staring at teabaggers at the exit gates in 30 seconds. Then the reset bug hit which made it that much easier. Thanks devs.
-
It's always been like that on Xbox before the Ruin nerf. Now survs don't care and try to start a lobby with more than two toolboxes. Then they wonder why they get lobby dodged. 😂

Decisive wouldn't be strong if Killers didn't have such BM tendencies. The game is designed for Killers to bounce around different survivors and end up hooking everyone a couple times. Map pressure is the overall key to successful 4ks not proxy camping at hook, play the game the way its supposed to be played stop making survivors have to force you to
No. No it's not. Have you played killer before? If so then you'd know that low mobility killers with zero map pressure exists. Especially on maps the size of Siberia and China. You literally do not have the time to do such things as if survs are going to give you the time to do that. Maybe if looping didn't exist and survs can't coordinate that would be true. If it's not bannable then you play the game how it's meant to be played: however you want to, not by some stupid arbitrary rules that benefits the opposition.
-
Give it time and they'll nerf it too. Anything that gives killers an ability to affect gens will get nerfed if survs complain enough.

@Mr_K said:
Funny how the Nurse didn't make it to the list.
No, the Devs don't want just Hillbilly and Spirit. That's why they will be reworked into obscurity.
That's because Nurse is dead now. And the way games go in higher ranks, only higher mobility killers are what they're forcing people to play if they want more than a 3 minute match. Anymore "reworks" like Legion, Nurse, and Pig and this game really will be dead by daylight.
-
Killers are already essentially bots anyway for survivors amusement.
-
My time has come! 😈
Or it could be something very different. Multiple chains would be a better indicator.
-
Only if you can shoot survivors on the spot.

And that is going to skew results even more so the Devs nerf more Perks and/or Killers. I love seeing people running around with names like Avenge Ruin and MM Sux because they are so upset about this. They camp, slug, and all sorts of fun tactics to 4k, and they'll end up getting Killers nerfed hard because the stats didn't change at all with the Ruin adjustment.
Let matches play out normal, and maybe they'll put matchmaking fixes on the front burner. Going sweaty AF isn't going to make it seem like a change is necessary at all. It'll have the opposite effect and look like "Pretty good job so far".
Let them keep nerfing killers. That's their problem now. If they want to kill their own game they have no one to blame but themselves.
-
Maybe not give killers the shaft at almost every turn. That's why you're waiting so long because no one wants to play Bully/Gen Rush Simulator 2020.
-
@Brisingr said:
One day the devs will listen and actually address the gen speed problem (preferably by implementing an additional, mandatory objective).
They have shown that they're listening to the map size complaints, so that's good.
Really? Because the last new map in the DLC suggests otherwise.

When do u plan to make this game balanced for killers too?? I ask for a friend :) Because he said this game is trash asf and he will start being toxic surv too since behaviour just care about surv side ^^ and he hopes to make this game ever worse till the complete destructrion of it :) Plis make him change his mind cause i cant! :( cheers!
The order of balance:
1) SWF
2) Solo Survs
3) Killers
That should tell you where their priorities lie. By the time they get around to killers, chances are they'll be replaced with bots because no one new to the game will want to play killer.
-
@Mr_K said:
Unless you are on XBOX, killers dodging the lobby has no affect on you. The lobby doesn't close and you and your friends/randoms sit and wait for the next killer to join.
DCing once the match starts takes away from those left behind the wait time to find and start the match. If it was a survivor that DC'd, having to face a killer with one less teammate.
It seems to me those that DC only concern themselves with their fun and not the others playing in the match.
Why not? The other side doesn't care about you anyway. Screw em.

It's by design. Like the Stanford Prison Experiment.

Pinata time also helps de-stress 😂

That's funny because I stay in red ranks in spite of myself and multiple de-ranks. It's not my fault that survs can't hit skill checks so they can have the game handed to them. 😂😂😂😂

if you buy DLC, lol.
EDIT: Whait a minute. You need to combine multiple DLCs to upgrade m1 killer.. xD The storry is getting even more bs.
To each their own on how they spend their disposable income. I didn't have to buy multiple DLCs specifically to make him more viable that's just a better combo to use on him. If you think that's the case then that's a design issue and you know who to take that up with.
-
He's better now because of Nemesis/ PWYF. At least you can catch up to people as Billy-lite.
-
Whatever survs can die and still pip. At first I thought that was a stupid concept because death = failure but I see why the devs did that because all your progress would be for nothing. When I get in those situations repeatedly I just switch to killer or call it a day.
-
Play as a low rank killer with current matchmaking and you'll see some toxic AF survs who then go out of their way to harass you after the fact.
-
@Anti_Devs said:
It's not the survivors fault that the killers don't use perks, add ons and offerings to help slow down the game. 🤷♀️🤷♀️
What a faulty assumption. Do you even play killer? You really think they go "Gee these gens sure are poppin' maybe we'll NOT do everything in our power to slow the game down...JUST A LIL BIT". No it's the devs fault for nerfing killer perks and add-ons there, chief.
-
The BP grind is too great that there's a good chance people are trying to perk out their characters.
-
Did you spawn in the same map with them? Then you're a camper unless you play by survivor rules (i.e. look stupid while they dance around you). Proudly tell them you'll pitch your tent all day and they shut up real fast because they're trying to shame you. Wolves don't care for the opinions of sheep.
-
Survivors control the speed of the gens, which puts the killer on the clock. The faster the clock, the less amount of mistakes you can make as killer in order to have enough time to recover unless you're Billy/Spirit/Freddy. It's not all on the killer because they didn't ApPlY pReSsUrE and there's not enough reliable endgame perks to compensate outside NOED.
-
It's Z tier now.
-
Only time I see multiple BPS is when it's a tryhard red rank SWF with toolboxes and they gen rush and use those to cover the points they miss from interacting with the killer, since you don't have to in order to safety pip at least.

Sorry but, when you try to hide your red light, moonwalking behind a wall, to trick a survivor in thinking you're going to a direction while it's the opposit? Isn't that a mental trick that killers use to gain an advantage? Aren't "mind games" mental strategies to outplay the opponent? Teabagging has the same value if the player-killer think you're trying to offend his person. he falls in the trick.
And to all those messages like "Just don`t get upset if i rekt you" i respond: tunnel me harder! <3
That's not a move that's known to be used specifically to disrespect players. Teabagging is. You're doing it to disrespect the other person and hoping to "get inside their head", further contributing to being toxic in an already toxic environment. No the equivalent is if I beat you like a pinata on the hook and see if I can "get inside" survivors' heads by seeing who takes the bait on altruism.

Yes! Exactly. Not enough killers to go round. Matchmaking is most likely working as intended.
Wonder why there isn't enough killers going around? Maybe because they get shafted all the time.

In every game, where there is a minimum of competition between two distinct parts, psychological strategies of various types and genres are always applied, if aimed at achieving a precise goal. Especially when you're trying to trick your opponent into making mistakes. The world of sport for example offers many other comparisons. The much-hated "teabag" by killers is actually a good game strategy, and is easily demonstrable with simple reasoning.
The act itself should not be considered a mere toxic "offense" against the player who's playing the role of the killer, but an expedient to push him to fall into the tunneling trap. If the player gets caught in anger and this leads him into an unreasonable focus on a single survivor, then the strategy has succeeded. If you consider the "teabag" a valid justification for giving up the rest of the team to chase only one survivor for 3/4 generators, it means that you have fallen into his trap and you can say "mmmBYE" to the game. If you fall into this trick it means that you deem the act more important than the success of the game itself.
After 2100+ hours, if I can give a suggestion to new killers (yellow / green rank), since with the current matchmaking they often face red rank squadron of Satan's spawn, is: don't fall in this trap EVER. They don't do it to offend the person who is playing the killer. They do it to trick you into making mistakes and having an easy game.
A good strategy is as follows: count the number of generators on one side of the map. Let the survivors complete the generators in that part and try to protect at least 3 generators in your area. Patrol your area. Once the generators on their side are complete, they will have to come to yours, and it will be way more difficult for them. They might try to provoke you with flashligh clicking or teabag. Don't fall for it. Stay focused on generators, that's all that matters!
Teabag is a psychological "warfare". Don't fall for it.
And those post game messages after teabagging isn't done to offend or degrade? That's a new take. You might want to re-evaluate looking at teabagging like it exists in a vacuum. This is also what new killers face. Hordes of survivors don't respect others in the killer role so it's as much about disrespecting the other side especially when they know they're facing easy opposition.

They don't do that already?
Maybe on PC they do.

On Xbox I always assume when I'm in red ranks I'm facing SWFs and most cases I'm right. That being said, I've only been playing survivor for 2 weeks here and there and already at rank 9. I can see why people would want to play with SWF there's no reason not to when you have soooo many garbage survivors who sell you out in so many ways and not bother to do anything other than be a detriment to the team.
-
It's a Hex perk that's mediocre at best. So what if it happens to stay up until late game? The other survivors if they are alive they will tunnel the rest of the gens anyway.
-
When it comes to portals, you never want to place them in an obvious area like on top of a gen or totem and always keep one on you to use to get to a portal in a pinch, instead of putting them all down and hoping for the best if you can make it to one in time.

He said "if the killer is within a certain radius of a hook". Speed up gen X2 still an exaggeration tho. These killers are struggling a lot lately. I agree btw that if the killer persist camping inside a certain range from a hook, he should have same penalties. Many killers don't use camping or tunneling like a strategy. I have seen killers repeatedly stab survivors while on hook. That shows a toxic behavior and should be punished.
Stabbing people while on hook. These people need a doctor. A very good one.
What if you are The Doctor and still doing it? Lmao 😂

I disagree. I like the new Ruin better than the old. The old Ruin was useless at higher ranks. It only crippled low-rank survivors. It favored campers and tunnelers in the rank 13-20 brackets. You get to rank 5 and ruin is pointless. It is either gone in 60 seconds or they just bulldoze through with great skill checks.
I have found survivors are a bit more lazy and pay less attention without ruin. I stopped running ruin and went for slowdown builds that worked much better. The new ruin works into those well. It gets ignored until it is too late many times.
The new ruin pushes learning a different play style in order to make it work for you. You have to be willing to push survivors off gens instead of engaging in long chases. I've found it works really well with a half-map strategy. I don't let survivors pull me to the side with only 2 gens. I keep the other 5-6 in my area of influence and I can keep them off the gens and catch them in bad spots once they get frustrated.
Anyways, new ruin is only bad for those that depended on it too much. I highly suggest trying new builds and styles with the new ruin.
One thing I think would make it even better? Take away the hex part. For what it does, it could be a huge way of countering gen times without turning the game on its head.
The new Ruin will still be gone in 30 seconds. Because for some reason it's still a totem.

noone argues that she was nerfed, but you are honesty saying you think she isn’t the best killer right now still?
No I do not. Spirit, Freddy, and Billy are higher than her now. You have better mobility and you're not penalized for using their power. What good is hers when the devs butchered it in the way that they have?

Nurse is still the only killer who can literally ignore the environment and loops altogether. Watch a good player play nurse and she’s still an absolutely wrecking ball.
I did pre - nerf. Not anymore. An earlier poster said either you pressure the map or you pressure a survivor. You can't do both anymore with these "updated" add-ons and now a cooldown on top of fatigue? You will never convince me these nerfs are helpful in anyway.
-
It would have been Nurse but she's dead as hell now so Spirit takes the top spot easily. The only thing good about Nurse is her cosmetics now.
-
@MegMain98 said:
Let’s say hypothetically a player can play any killer to their fullest potential and is the best at every killer. It’s Nurse.
Even in her state at the moment she can apply pressure to the map (with recharge add-ons) and end chases super quickly. I’ve seen Umbra and Zubat still destroy teams with Nurse, she’s still extremely good in my opinion. She’s just not overly powerful above the rest. She is on a more equal level compared to the other killers.
Spirit is also still extremely good but sounds are holding her back to her fullest potential.
You must mean PC. Still trash tier on consoles.

Yeah, like show me another killer that gets fatigue AFTER hit and can down people.
Fatigue does not affect her blinks, at worst it prolongs the chase by 10 seconds after a hit.
That's 10 seconds of time that adds up that you don't have getting constantly punished for using her power.
