Playing against 3 toolboxes is asking for trouble.

@Tactless_Ninja said:
How would the game be balanced then?
Most survivor abilities are based around scenarios that the killer is using their best and most broken abilities and perks, but what if every killer was at base a 2 hit down killer?
Gens would definitely be slower. They'd calculate in that every encounter WILL be drawn out.
Billy would still be top tier being able to instantly catch up to a survivor. Nurse wouldn't go anywhere. Myers would get his stats redistributed into faster walking speed and faster swipes.
Endgame would be a lot different. Noed just has a speed boost. Although maybe hitting a survivor wouldn't give them a speed boost?
Hmmm. So many things to consider.
Lmao "balanced". That's probably their endgame anyway. No one shots so survs can fly through gens then bully killers to make up the other points.
-
The devs say that 2K should be a baseline but their emblem system screams "Entity Displeased". Meanwhile survs can die and still rank up...
-
Don't worry, guys. Hiding the ranks will fix everything.
-
Any lobby with 3 or more toolboxes is a de-pip squad by default. Dodge 'em.

This happened to me tonight as well twice by billy. Killers are ######### babies. Survivors take our nerfs like a man repeated nerfs and killers get one nerf to hex ruin and go off the deep end. Its really quite pathetic. There has been a influx of this type of behavior since ruin was rightfully nerfed. Which to be honest hex ruin was a complete and absolute joke and was why i quit the game in the first place i came back because its gone finally. LIKE 1 perk 1 perk and they cry. Survivors have had multiple nerfs repeat over and over patch after patch to our main perks.
Killers are crybabies but you left the game because of one perk and you couldn't hit skill checks. Lol ok entitled surv. Let me know when they nerf whole survivors into the ground like they do killers.
-
A killer's job is to kill. You died. It happens to everyone at some point. At least you can suicide on hook. You just might have been the end result of multiple prior games of losing to survs. That happens too.

Same killers who cried about instant heals. Using iri head take no skill at all.
I think I might have "cried" about insta heals up until the point I discovered moris. Try playing Huntress on consoles against red ranks in the current meta then come back and talk to me about how it takes no skill to hit someone with a hatchet.

I'm on Xbox and had some pretty negative comments post game and had to block messages from non-friends, shame really as it's a game.
Xbox is the worst because anyone who messages a killer is either a sore loser or a sore winner like they did something worthwhile in their lives. But they'll try to feedback tamper when you clap back. Back in the day you cursed someone the ######### out and moved on.
-
Are people still crying about a killer with only one ultra rare add-on that forces you to equip a rare add-on to make the ultra worth a damn? How entitled can survs get? Just ask the devs to eliminate the dying state while you're at it. It takes actual skill to hit one and not running up for a melee attack.

Ds has always been necessary. As much as killers dont like it, the chances of coming across a camping/tunneling killer are just too high or you get survivors who rush the hook before the killer even has a chance to move away in which case the killer will often go after the person who is already injured.
I don't disagree with DS being needed however, whole builds are built around second chance perks and when you run against groups that all have the same build or similar, then it defeats the purpose of the killer outside of a Mori. In the current meta, that's gamebreaking. You can't even have variety like that in killer builds that are viable in the current meta because you already have to address gen rush, since the devs won't do it. Then people complain why they face the same killers with the same perks and the same tactics.
-
Play some more Seal Team 6 squads then come back to us about how they're not meta.

Oh please. It has nothing to do with Ruin. Gens go too fast now so the solution is to tunnel and camp? PLEASE. That gives everyone else time to get those gens done very quickly. Killers always tunneled and camped and they always will.
Ruin nerf means people with killers that need early gen slowdown literally don't have the time to dance around for surv amusement. You're just seeing MORE of killers not "playing nice" because of the message from the devs to killers with the nerf: we don't care about why you need the perk in the first place because in our eyes gen times are fine as they are, just apply more pressure. So killers are "applying pressure" where they see fit. Welcome to the new meta.
-
OP must have missed the first Rift, where rewards were plenty to hook you into buying it. Now the change is obvious. No more freebies.
-
Thank the Ruin nerf.
-
You need Corrupt to replace old Ruin's early game impact and Pop to assist regression. Dead Rabbit frees up the slot used for M&A for more variety.
-
You know they won't. They're backed by the devs to do whatever they want. That's one of the reasons why this is called a bully simulator. There should be an ability to avoid people outright so you don't have to deal with them ever again but that will never happen.
-
The Plague was good for me...to rediscover Huntress. Ranged killers are purposely slow moving and purposely slow using their powers. This new one is no exception and it's by design to give survs time to always escape and punish you for using a killer's power.

It's time to make BBQ a hex totem, also make it so you can't get double bloodpoints, because it's overused by so many filthy killer mains and obviously that means they aren't skilled, because why would they use such a clutch perk that gives so much information for zero skill?
/s
Either this is sarcasm or surv entitlement.
-
The grind is insane the more killers you play. It's needed for that as much as tracking, not for anti-gens. Most people know this. Pretty sure people stop running it when they get perks to address the issues you speak of. But sometimes good anti gen perks won't show until well past lvl 50 and multiple bloodwebs later.

I agree they should take all the second chance perks from the survivors. I mean after all there is 4 of them and 1 of the killer. DOWN WITH THE SURVIVORS! They should not LIVE ....or have fun. lol I mean it's only fair that killers had Hex Ruin for how long? Then NOED to stop a game dead in its tracks if the game gets to the end and they missed a totem. I mean dang those second chance perks. lol
They should just take away all perks and let you play the most basic of games. lol jk jk
Who said anything about all?

You know, you actually make a very good point. I would hate seeing survivors bullying Pinhead because, like you said, he could easily eviscerate them. Imagine Pinhead being pallet stunned or blinded by a flashlight. Even Pinhead doesn't deserve that because he is an amazing horror icon that would not take any BS from anyone. So I 100% agree with you on that. As cool and amazing as Pinhead would be, DbD cannot do him any justice with how survivors can be.
Thank you very much. For the longest time I wanted him in the game because for all the flack I give the devs, one of the things they do well is great design and aesthetics with a lot of the killers and they do the licensed ones justice in that aspect. But like OP wrote, there's no fear factor in a lot of the game anymore. The way to make it scary again is to give them the ability to kill outright. From a gameplay standpoint, that means ivory mori in the base kit, but when there's a threshold of more gen progress than hooks to compensate for how fast gens get done. A killer's job is to kill, not play whack a mole with gens.

Devs don't care about how frustrating the killer side is, they only care about the survivor mains as they surv mains buy skins, us true killer mains who know killer is the power role should just quit for 30 months. When survs can't get queues they'll make the killer side better.
Killer is supposed to be the power-role.
Facts. And it feeds surv entitlement.
-
And not over a game like this. It's not about playing for emblems or rank which shouldn't even be in a casual game like people make this game out to be. I'm not doing anything wrong I just want the integrity of what the devs say to match the product. I purposely do not rank up because I want to have fun but that's kind of hard to do when you still get matched up with tryhard groups in a broken rank system who think they're pro gamers because they have a multitude of benefits handed to them by the devs. I've played some of the most toxic games around and this one easily takes the top spot because people are either sore losers or sore winners and feel compelled to message you after the game is over instead of moving on. If you play for fun with new killers not too tier you're told "git gud, GG EZ, you suck..." and when you play to win you get even worse messages (which I actually get amusement from). Yes, you play the game to have fun but unless you prefer mediocrity, you also would like a fair chance at winning, even in an assymetric game. The perception is that killers don't get the same chances awarded to survs, which is pretty easy on their side. Even with potatoes on my team and never playing with friends, as a surv it's way too easy to stomp on killers with no drawback.

@ChicoRockz said:
These are the kind of posts I hate, from both sides! This community is absolutely the worst. People cry and cry no matter what the devs do. I play both sides equally and don't care whether I "win" or "lose". The only thing I care about is if I had fun. If you're not having fun you're either A. Taking the game WAY too seriously or B. Just not as good as you think you are. Stop thinking you always NEED a 4k. The only time I'm truly upset as a killer is when I don't get 20k+ BP. If you're still playing killer for kills and not BP I don't know what to tell you chief.
At the end of the day crying like this on the forums is ridiculous. If you've been playing as long as you claim, then you would also recognize the good changes the devs have done. I've been playing since there were only 4 killers and I can assure you the game maybe a little wonky now, but the devs always come through. Do you not remember vacuum pallets? Did you forget about sprint burst twice in a chase? Or even worse insta-flashlight?
Give credit where credit is due and stop acting like the devs don't hear us. It may take time but they are also an indie studio. We always seem to forget that. Now if this was EA or Activision handling this game I would be just as sour. But ######### guys... Let's all take a Xanax and chill a bit. It's not that serious or that bad.
Then why are you crying about others crying? If others aren't having fun, maybe it could also be because broken things are still broken, chief and not your flawed, binary reasons. Where is this ######### about always wanting a 4K? The emblem system should reflect this 2K average the devs speak on but have yet to implement. The devs listen...to survs. When they listen to killers it's because they want to throw them a bone and gloss over the same longstanding issues. Do they act on killer suggestions? Sometimes. But because the game is less broken than it was in the past does not mean that you ignore issues that still plague it today. An indie studio should be more responsive to both sides equally, not less. Unless they want bots. If you don't like posts like this I don't know what to tell you because as long as there's issues, people will speak their minds.
-
Don't waste your time coming up with ideas to balance SWF because it will be seen as a nerf and that's bad for business.

Gen speeds are fine. Ruin didnt have any benefit in high ranks, cause survivors could work through easily or it popped after a minute. So obviously nothing really changed. Gen speeds arent an issue at all cause it all depends on the killer being able to pressure survivors. If gens speed would be an issue noone would be able to 4k. But my Trapper 3/4ks far more regularly than being outplayed by survivors.
Gen speeds are fine. Ok. Thanks for your subjective experience as fact. Just ApPlY pReSsUrE. How come no one else has tried that yet? 😂

Even if they buff him:
- He will still be an unimaginative killer
- He still won't appeal to many people outside of America who aren't into cowboys
- He'll still be a lesser Huntress wannabe
- He still won't fit in the game
- He still won't be scary
- He will still be unplayable on console
- He still won't be Pinhead
I like how the devs trolled with the title Chains of Hate yet give players an evil version of Jonah Hex that's a lesser Huntress. Sums up the killer experience perfectly.
-
You people do realize not everyone plays this game everyday and rank resets exists, right? That said, if you're using a new killer to you and haven't been playing for a while, this is practically the norm for any killer not top tier. When you have to fight through a team of second chance perks with skin overlays with survs saying ApPlY mOrE pReSsUrE while all gens pop in less time it takes to wait in the lobby as a surv, it gets real old real fast. Kudos to OP for having as many hours as he does because this game is an exercise in masochism for many.

It's a bone to killers. A very gimmicky, situational bone.
It's not even a bone because there's no reason to bite. That will have no bearing on the current game state other than to waste time a killer doesn't have.

No, but knowing how to loop and mindgame the killer does.
Mind gaming yes. Running in circles to waste the killers' time while your buddies pop gens not so much. You don't even need to loop if they can't find you in the first place in the first 3 minutes of the game.
-
Same on Xbox. Where survs love to rub it in that they are somehow better than you because they roll with their red rank SWF buddies and pull every rank killer other than red. So balanced.
-
@LetsPlayTogether said:
Killers arent forced to tunnel or camp. They do it because for them its the easiest way and not any skill needed, as well as they are able to annoy survivors.
Because holding a button all day and hitting an easy skill check takes skill.

I don’t care what anyone says, it’s completely unfair to play against a killer with an ability that can last the entire game I understand it’s an add on but just no. On top of that to be punished by it for teammates poor game sense and letting him be able to build it quickly Is not my fault.
Once teammates see this a majority of the time they stop doing gens all together and then nothing ends up getting done. There’s nothing you can do to cancel it there’s no counter to it other than to avoid letting him get stalk which if you are but others aren’t you’re screwed over . No other killer has an add on to make their ability last for the entire game, it’s either make it charge quicker, to make it faster or whatever it may be.
So I don’t understand why Michael needs an unlimited 1 shot ability. I wouldn’t consider ghost face unlimited either given the fact once ur marked and knocked ur stalk is 0d out and you can break him out of stalk as well.
Argue with yourselves thank you very much 🤪😢🤯😳🥵😡🥶
Object of Obsession is unfair because it lasts the entire game with no work to use. Seriously have you ever tried to get unlimited EW3? In this game's meta? Unless you get lucky it usually pops off mid game which by that time survs can have at least 3 gens down. That's a fair trade off. Anyway Vault Master Myers is a blast to play.

I seriously would love to see Pinhead. He would be a great addition to DbD and fit right in. To be honest, with the rework of Lery's and chase themes for each killer, it's starting to go back the scary factors that I've seen in the game before.
I approve of this comment. But I have zero faith they'll do him justice. Part of his appeal is when summoned, he can just as easily eviscerate you as he would in debating you on the merits of religion. In this game's current state, no killer is scary when the surv team can bully everyone backed by multiple second chance perks.

The fact that you cant get 4k all your matches does not make the game survivor biased.
If 2K is an average, you should never de-pip past that. No exceptions. Where are you getting 4K? Do you always get 4K?

That does not make sense whatsoever. Who said anything about always getting a 4K? If the average is supposed to be 2K, that should always be a safety pip. No exceptions. You should never be in danger of de-pip past that.
-
The penalties are another step not addressing core issues. Now you get penalities for the server dropping you that's outside your control. Not only that, DC penalties in a game that's supposed to be casual (lol) yet they still leave the ability to leave the game as an option. So which one is it devs? What do you want this game to actually be?

How astute an observation...

If both sides deserve an equal opportunity to win, how is slugging for the 4k supporting that?
It's circumventing the odds for the survivor to find the hatch and stacking the deck in the killer's favor
Bring up the issue when they address the fact that 3 survs can escape via hatch at one time with 1 key.

To be honest you'll be lucky if you 2K without Pop Goes the Weasel or a very strong anti-heal/injury build. Even then it's a tossup as a gen will pop every chase or every other chase against skilled survivors.
What's sad is the meta does not allow for variety in builds that can focus on a killer's primary objective: killing survs. You HAVE to devote at least one or two slots to address gen rush because the devs won't do it themselves. And this toolbox thing does nothing to address early game when a gen can pop before you get to the other side of the map and up to 2 more if you're not Spirit/Billy/Freddy/ Windstorm Wraith getting a hook or two.
-
Don't worry. It will take 4 gens popping before a killer will break a wall that has absolutely zero bearing on the state of the game. That's just another time waster while survs rush to the exit gates.
-
You answered your own question. I can see why you should pip as a survivor when you die if you carried your weight or did your part before you got knocked out but even then it takes minimal effort. Common sense goes that if you died as a survivor you failed at your job. But it's all about doing gens and maybe a save or two. Meanwhile you can 4K and only break even...
-
You're having an exercise in futility on them addressing Legion. They'll "rework" Legion so they'll stab themselves during Fatal Frenzy. Legion is dead and will likely never return to respectability.

You can't fix matchmaking, because it isn't broken. There are too few killers playing this game. The upcoming MMR ranking won't do crap except hide the ranks.
That in itself is broken. They STILL haven't addressed gen rush, STILL haven't addressed SWF, STILL haven't addressed how ineffective killers are, and STILL haven't addressed the broken criteria for what constitutes as a "win" for killers. Maybe they want bots on the opposition because pretty soon there won't be anyone playing killer.

It's probably because I don't capitulate to survivors like some killers and the devs do.
