Pretty much this for me. I want to P3 him, and since getting him up to lvl 50 Three times to do that costs a minimum of 1.6 mil BP per prestige level, PH himself often doesn't get the perks and offerings necessary to keep the point gain high, so I use my other maxed out killers with all the tools for BP gain to get what I need to raise him to P3. During that Time, I only play him each time he reaches Lvl 50 in order to use up all of the Survivor Puddings, Bloody Party streamers, and Green BP offerings he has before I hit the Prestige button and nuke his inventory. So far I'm at P2, so I'll only have to do this one more time, afterwards I'll be able to put much more time into him, but until I get the tools needed for him to max himelf out, I'll still need to use my other killers to build him up. I hate the Prestige system because it delays my playtime with a new killer until they hit P3, and it hardly seems worth it atm, but the devs have said they are looking into improving Prestige rewards, and I want him ready for when that update eventually arrives.

Facts. I built him up first being frugal on the 1 mil BP I banked unless I saw perks with a build I want. On level 1 that was a no hook perks and all chase build because that's what the web gave me. I played him past level 40 to get the experience. P1 and P2 I do the Rift challenges as both killer and survivor to dump in him and spent shards to get more since I had most of the perks already in the shrine. If I wasn't doing that I slap on BBQ, surv pudding, and anything else to boost points as well as playing Spirit, Doc (a BP machine), and Billy like I normally would. It takes a whole village to raise the child killer up right now.

  • PH plays just like Wraith and Huntress when using his power: don't blatantly do it in a surv's face. It requires thought and mind gaming.

  • Don't get caught in the first place. Focus more on perks that lose him in a chase than relying on second chance perks to bail you out.

  • @Dr_doom_j2 said:

I need to try him in red ranks, but I have an inkling PH is fine.

He's fine in red ranks. If you want to pip, you have to choose if you need to hook or cage. The best strategy I've seen on these forums is to hook first.

  • @upsetelcor said:

Let me preface this by saying I am a killer main. I don't often play survivor, so maybe my view on things for survivors isn't great. However, there's a blatant issue with Pyramid Head. Why don't BT, DS, Pop, etc. work with cages, but moris do? The logic behind being unable to use DS and BT with cages is that they are HOOK perks. Okay, whatever. It's really yikes that this killer literally encourages tunneling, but that's just the game for you. If you can't use your hook perks out of the cage, you shouldn't be able to mori out of the cage.

Moris specifically say (we'll go with an ivory for simplicity) "Grants the ability to kill oneย Survivorย who has been hooked by your hand during the next Trial."

Well, if the cages don't count as hooks for the perks, why should they count as hooks for moris? For that matter, if cages don't count as hooks, why can you hook someone and cage them, for the same 3 states?

For real, man. Pyramid Head is so bad for the game right now. The pure, unadulterated tunneling right now is absurd. Sure, sending a survivor to the cage puts them on the other side of the map, but you can still see the cage, so what's stopping you from going after the survivor again, when they're injured, pretty much completely defenseless and fresh out of the cage? You can't really avoid the trails of torment in chases without nearly guaranteeing giving the killer a hit or a down. You may be able to urban evade through it but in my opinion, there should not be a single killer that makes you put on a perk on the off chance you get them.

BHVR, you say you want the game to be fun for everyone, and from a killers perspective, this absolutely does not seem fun for survivors at all. The tunneling is absolutely rampant right now, and its making half your playerbase want to quit. God knows first 3 games as survivor I played, I got tunneled all 3, and don't want to play survivor at all right now.

Seriously man, I don't understand why BHVR added a killer who literally does something the community has been bothered by for literal years and it needs to be changed. If tunneling has irked the community for years, why make it so easy for PH? He can pick survivors up, just like every other killer. He shouldn't be any sort of special about it. I understand it's supposed to be a cool new mechanic, but in reality, it's making people genuinely not want to play. There is no sort of fun in being tunneled, and it should not be encouraged like this.

Feel free to tell me I'm just whining if you must, but after seeing it from the killers perspective and the survivors, I really do not see where this is good for the game at all.

"From a killer's perspective, this does not seem fun for survivors at all."

The what?! From a killer's perspective, the fun of survivors is secondary to your own. Fixed it for you. You can choose NOT to tunnel and still do good with PH. Let survs do their own complaining as they don't need a white knight. Tunneling isn't cheating and it isn't camping.

  • OR people are using other killers to build BP to get the pages and pages of perks unlocked with him. I played him without all the perks I would like in red ranks and was able to hold my own. I'm not even touching him even though I got him to P2 because now I'm rank 1 and will probably get stomped if I don't throw another 1 million BP to stand a chance.

  • I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks the P3 isn't worth it. The default looks too similar anyway. Now that skin in the store would be great to combine with the prestige outfit and sword.

  • The only "boring" post about PH that makes any sense.

  • Boring for survivors = harder for survivors. Sounds like another "Nerf PH" complaint.

I've had survs still be able to use their meta perks by not getting tormented in the first place. Sometimes it's easier and better tactically to go for the hook. I've also had survs run directly to the hook/cage, especially while injured, screwing their teammates in the process if they get tunneled.

No killer is obligated to not tunnel. Especially PH, whose entire being is to punish and torment anything in his way. You get caught, get ready to take a ride on the pain train.

  • Good tips. I'm currently running Ruin, Thrilling Tremors, Surge, and Sloppy as I'm going to P2 him at least. He's been all chase for me. So far holding my own in red ranks until I'm better and I have him where he needs to be. Noticing people DCing outright though.

  • I'll take the trade off of BBQ and Pop if it negates all the second chance perks you have to fight through. Plenty of games I cage someone and turn around and see a surv trying to camp the hook and save the second I turn my back. Glad they fixed the mechanic for a change for at least one killer.

  • Aahhh the Mori. The great equalizer for green rank killers vs. red rank survs. Perfectly balanced. As all things should be. ๐Ÿ˜‚

  • He's fine where he is for now. He's not Spirit or anything.

  • I like The Doc's when Monto does it. I also like The Oni's because I get up and dance while being chased. But Myer's and Demo are the best.

  • Claudette. Almost everyone I play with make the stupidest decisions imaginable in this game. Repeatedly. It's to the point where I'll outright refuse to play with more than one in the game because one meatshield distraction is enough to make the game challenging.

  • It's not racist because it's not like he's using blackface to do a minstrel show. He's literally using your face as a replacement for his own.

  • As a red rank killer, you HAVE to be sweaty because the console controls are less forgiving in responsiveness and the game lags with every notification. If you didn't, then Seal Team 6 will gen rush you and try to farm points off you at the end.

Now I am not one to say that Freddy is overpowered by any means, but I do now see why so many people in the community find him annoying. It's the fact that every Freddy runs the exact same build. Freddy gets immese value from BBQ & Pop, & I don't think I have versed a single Freddy that isn't running that perk combo in months. 75% of the Freddy's I face are hardcore anti-gen build Freddys, often using the slower action speed addons on top of his anti-gen perks.

Another thing that contributes to Freddy having such a high kill rate based on the data is the fact that his kit has so much to it. He can anti-loop/track efficiently with his snares (or opt to exchange that for mindgaming potential with his pallets), get from one side of the map to another in seconds (also a potential mindgame), he hard counters BT (I actually like this on him), he can slow down survivors (with addons, & most oftenly with perks too), & his lunge is crazy. Now I know the devs said his lunge is normal & that the animation just doesn't match up, but if that's actually the case that needs to be fixed ASAP. Legion is like the same size as Freddy & doesn't seem to have that problem. Basically you have to assume that Freddy has an extra foot or so ahead of him that can count as a hit on you. This seems to be why Freddy can hit through pallets so well. Either way, it's annoying to have to guess at what range you can be hit by Freddy.

My solution would be to somehow limit how effective anti-gen Freddy can be & fix his lunge. You could make aura reading not work on awake survivors, increase his teleport cooldown, or something. His anti-gen meta is way too common & honestly makes playing against him super unfun. As a solo survivor, it's a pain trying to beat a good Freddy because generally my team ends up all over the place & no one can ever seem to finish a gen. He is also the reason why I feel Chreyl's new gen blocker teachable will become meta. Preventing him from using Pop would be his downfall because most Freddys rely so heavily on it.

Boring = I die too much to him because he slows down the game so we can't dance around him like a campfire. Like you believe a nerf will help him while playing as killer. FOH.

Yeah um.. keep talking out of your *ss my guy. Have a great day to you too, seen as the only snowflake here is the one saying I'm "crying" about spirit when it is pretty well known that, from a survivor and killer perspective, people just do not like her. Like I said, you can have your own opinions, but being a smart*ss like this will end you in a rutt somewhere. Good luck to you too, :)

I don't need luck. I stay as a rank 1 killer using Spirit to beat snowflakes like you all the time. No self respecting killer cries as much about Spirit being unfun except the surv mains with their bait like you. Keep staying on that hook though and try harder next time and you just might survive one lol.

  • @bigbucks76 said:

Forreal the pig because it highlights all the saw things and only one is real and as the surv it's hard cause the pig knows if it's fake or not.

Nurse. Because the devs broke the hell out of her and she's unplayable unless you're on a map like The Game.

  • It's because they can't deal with another killer being top tier and expect to dance around them like the Maypole of Merry Mount.

  • Teabag = Pinata time. Olaaayyyy olay olay olay! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Since you obviously didn't see my comment explaining my other side, I edited the post just for you, almighty snowflake. Have fun reading!

I obviously read you crying about how unfun it is for you to play against her. And then you backed it up by simply repeating the same thing only by your perspective on the killer side. Like a typical snowflake. It was pretty funny honestly because you sound like you're still crying that you can't treat her like most killers and refuse to adjust your play style. Again, nice bait. If you want to be masochistic and run killers like Clown and Jonah Hex then that's on you. Most good Spirit players don't need to run Stridor when people like you will just give up so just suicide on hook and move on. Or keep making snowflake posts because it won't change a thing.

  • Run Calm Spirit and stay in the opposite side of the map in the beginning of the game. Hiding in lockers during a chase only gets you so far because if they can't find you afterwards with Static Blast, they'll know you're in a nearby locker.

  • @Reinami said:

As both killer and survivor i find it absolute bullshit. Happens in a good chunk of my games. When someone does it, either because they don't like the killer or they don't like that they were first downed. It completely ruins the game, basically guarantees the killer will win, and also makes the killer lucky to black pip. It's bad for everyone in the game and there is no excuse to not treat it the same as a D/C

Yeah it sucks but so do DC penalties in a casual game. There are valid reasons to suicide on hook (stupid teammates, toxic teammates, camping killers, connection issues, etc) and people have their own reasons. Trying to force someone into situations they don't want to be in when they can move on only increases toxicity towards other survs in game by various means.

  • @Reinami said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1291068#Comment_1291068

That's not a legit reason. If your team is hook farming you, report them, that is a different behavior, or DC and take the penalty. You shouldn't get a "free" dc whenever you want.

We all know nothing happens for reporting people for hook farming. You have to prove that in the first place. Unless you're recording it as it happens...

  • @Snowstruck said:

I'm making this post, because a lot of people do not understand why a lot of people hate playing as, and against, spirit.

    So...

For one, a lot of people bring up the "there is no indicator" argument, which is a completely valid argument. A lot of people will counter this argument by saying, "she was made to be that way!" And to that I say.. Old legion was made to be old legion, and they were changed. And also, the fact that she has no indicator is... quite interesting. Not only does it take literally no skill to sit there and fake phase (it's literally you taking your hand off your mouse) but anyone, and I mean anyone, with half a damn brain can do that. One of the only counters to that is running spine chill, but, realistically- not everyone will run spine chill. And if you need to run a certain perk to counter a killer, it's pretty stupid. It's like saying run distortion on a scratched mirror, or off the record. Plain and simple, it's dumb to say that.

Adding on to the last argument (to separate it) it's a 50/50 at loops, and not a skill based 50/50. No. The survivor has to guess if you are phasing at loops. That is ridiculous. You can stand still and get an easy kill if the survivor makes the wrong guess. That isn't a skill thing, it's an, "aw sh*t, i'm about to be outplayed by someone standing still." thing.. The fact that it's almost a luck based thing is damn ridiculous.

Another thing, if she's running stridor, you're basically screwed. One of her only other perk counters is iron will, which I didn't mention before because a lot of people just use iron will. It's a meta perk, so it's not something to complain about because a lot of people will use it, whether it's because of spirits or just juking at loops. So, if she does have stridor- you can't do your simple, start walking and hope she doesn't have the blood addon thing. No, you basically just.. have to make a guess, again.

Which brings me to my third point- one of her best counters is starting to walk when you are certain she is phasing, because she cannot see you in phasing. Problem with that is, again, without iron will you're screwed- and if you DO have iron will, and she has stridor.. you're screwed. See the problem? If she obviously has stridor, your best bet is to run like hell and hope she loses your scratches.

In conclusion- anyone with half a brain can master and destroy with spirit, especially with the right addons and perks. And it's just really not fun to play against. Think what you want, but this is my opinion, and you can have yours. :)

Nice bait. None of what you said covered reasons why someone would hate playing WITH her. And why would they when most of what you described benefits the killer playing as her? She's a high level killer that requires high level play against her. If you don't want to play against her just suicide on hook and move on.

We have people who make great use and guides

    • true on wraith and ghostfaces,
    • otz on trapper,
    • there's the huntress lad and jund plays a lot of huntress to their channel
    • a channel for the doctor, can't remember their name, otz featured them one time.
    • a channel, there's the guy that does super in depth demogoron videos,
    • scropz on the pig
    • michi for the hag.
    • ryuga's whole thing is the legion. there's another guy who also does a ton of legion videos
    • tofu just made that video on nurse. and other great killer guides in general.

like these people have show great use and value out of their favorite killers, and have improved so much and learned so many little things out of them. but i just wanna know where plague players at? because i love her design, she's like visually my favorite and the concept of her power is so cool i feel like i down people just as fast with her as any other killer but i still get rushed so hard so idk where im doing wrong.

also suggestions on other channels/streamers on specific killers are welcome.

Plague needs a better rework before she's even useful. She's too slow and the only channel you'll get with her is survs running circles around her.

Every match from now as a killer will include momento mori, every good add-on, slugging, camping, and everything under the sun.

It's been nice playing as a low rank killer where I could afford being a nice and good sport killer, but the moment you reach higher ranks it's over.

Everything is momento mori, mori, more mori and slugging camping and what not.

Killers kill. Do what you want. Ebony exists because in horror there are times where there are NO survs. In movies, those can be some of the best ones. Some lower tier killers need it to keep survs on their toes and honest in addition to giving you a fighting chance.

  • Red rank killer here. Matchmaking has always been broken but you can dominate if you have enough experience with killers that aren't trash and always go for the 4K when possible. Never worry about the feelings of survs because they can't do your job for you. Once Doom Eternal dropped, I stopped playing this much less but have a much better time when I do.

  • @nikodelpino said:

I play all killers and I know exactly what build to use in every killer. However, with the Doctor (and the Pig) I'm constantly changing the build I use but I don't seem to figure out what to run on him. Actually I'm running:

    • Ruin
    • Distressing or Nurses Calling
    • Unnerving Presence (to counter DS)
    • BBQ&C (not necessary the best perk on him but I want the extra BP)

I'm considering taking out Ruin on some killers because sometimes it doesn't even last 20 seconds on the match. I already take Ruin out of my Nurse and Billy and now I'm considering taking out Ruin of the Doctor too. So my question is if do you think it's viable playing Doctor on high ranks without Ruin? Taking into account that I don't like to play defensive or the boring 3 gen strat. Thanks for your suggestions :)

It was real easy to drop Ruin after the "rework" and the Doc rework. Just run Overcharge/PGTW/Whispers/ and BBQ or whatever flex perk you want. You won't feel a drop off and your games will be better.

  • Maybe on PC she is but on console she's absolute trash. She WAS the best at one point but Spireh has taken her place.

  • The Doctor. It gives the right mix of sinister and desperation.

  • @Peanits said:

What would stop me from opening task manager and closing the game? Or disconnecting my internet? Or shutting off my PC/console?

Nothing. But how about remove the option to leave the game if you don't want them to in the first place? Seems like that should line up with DC penalties.

I, honestly, think all Mori's should only replace final hook. I know people would claim 'it dodges any attempts at a save' but they also take longer than it takes to carry someone to a hook. That's a form of balance; Killer gets to dodge saves for that 3rd hook, but he's giving Survivors a little more time to do gens.

Mori rarity should be different animations, with rarer mori's being more gruesome or better overall.

As a killer, why would I give survs MORE time to do their job when they don't have to do mine. Last time I checked, killers aren't on your team of survs. Moris are fine. Just don't get caught.

The Spirit doesn't make any sense in the game, I won't have 10 hours of play with it and I can destroy survivors without problems.

I have not played this killer for more than a year (I disgust him), I really ask as a main killer to give him another nerf, in addition to being boring, he cannot provide a chase where the survivor's ability takes effect, it is simply a luck simulator (controlled by the spirit).

    Laughs in Calm Spirit

    Mother/Daughter ring

    Increased Haunting duration add on

  • Give him more cosmetics. That's it. If you're a killer that doesn't like him you just don't play him. It's that simple. He adds variety to the top tier, which is a long-standing complaint.

  • If you can slug all 4 before a single gen is done then do it. The higher you go in rank, the harder that is to pull off. You did your job as a killer. And because you can.

  • People still play Nurse after the nerf? That's masochistic.

    "Boosted killers don't exist"

Tell that to all the freddy, spirit, and hag mains lol. Huntress is pretty bad with the hitboxes nailing you around corners too.

I hit a rank 1 facecamping NOED nurse today who gets run for 4 gens by one guy, then gets to facecamp out like 3+ hooks (because nobody wants to let the guy who did all the work die) and still gets 2 kills even though we actually got to key out the hatch. Probably would have been a 3-4k had they gotten to use the NOED.

So I disagree, pretty much all you have to do as killer is stand in front of the hook with a 1 shot and you are guaranteed 2-3 kills if you combine it with NOED and literally every survivor isn't running BT/DS.

People playing top tier of Freddy and Spirit isn't boosting. Hag certainly is not. Neither is Huntress. Someone wanting to play a character that puts them in the power role they're supposed to be in as killer is common sense. Killers have no one to rely on to do their job. The only way a killer can be boosted is if all they play are potato survs.

  • When the whole team can escape with a key while you have to hook everyone and catch them again to get the max out of an Ebony Mori, you will never convince people that they're more OP than keys.

  • Spoken like a true surv main who never plays killer. Lol killer is easy.

  • She's too slow to be viable outside of low ranks. And committing half your slots to build speed doesn't help.
