    1. A totem counter is all we need for Solo Q, no idea why BHVR refuses to add it
    2. Camping applies zero pressure if the survivors have a higher combined IQ than warm porridge. If the Killer is staying at the hook, they aren't patrolling gens, which equals zero map pressure, so survivors can fix the generators with impunity

How about we disable all the killer sided maps, too? Oh wait, now there wont be any maps left.

The only blatantly Killer-sided map is Hawkins due to 95% of pallets being unsafe. The game is balanced, as it has like 3 god pallets and a bunch of safe ones besides. Lery's is also balanced for anybody that isn't Scratched Mirror Myers due to the ease of breaking LOS and hiding spots

  • @DelsKibara said:

Actually according to BHVR, that is the emblem system working correctly.

Two Survivors died while the other two escaped, and you got a safety pip as a result.

The match ended with a tie meaning you faced Survivors who were of equal skill to you as a killer.

Of course, not like Rank is going to mean anything anymore once the MMR system is introduced. I suggest just not worrying about pipping and try to have fun ^^ Because worrying about getting a pip tend to make you play worse because you feel like you have to satisfy the requirements to pip.

You can't say that a 2k is the intended balance while preventing pips if the Killer gets a 2k. You can have one or the other, not both.

They did this update to help killers then ninja nerfed killers by changing sensitivity. I couldn't even hit a survivor in the games I've played since the new update.

Yesterday game 1. Couldn't hit anyone with the hatchet or even a basic attack so i turned game off for the day

today game 1. Couldn't even hit a survivor with a basic attack. That was again my last match for today.

I can't physically hit anyone now in this game. The controls are either to slow or to fast, there is no right spot anymore.

Did you try adjusting the sensitivity?

    Lets go over those Patches.

First, we got the Nurse Nerf. In the same Patch, Medkits got reworked and Insta Heals got nerfed. So something good for Killer as well.

The next Patch was the Spirit Nerf (which was quite generous, mostly the Bullshit Add Ons got reworked). But Killers also did something positive - a solid Killer (Oni) and Balanced Landing got nerfed.

Next Midchapter we had the Ruin Rework. But again, Killers also got something positive, Doctor got reworked and the reworked Doctor is WAY better than the previous version.

And the recent Chapter brought again a solid Killer, the feature of breakable Walls (which I see more negative than positive, but it is meant to help Killers) and the Toolbox Nerf (which made them useless for Repairs).

So saying that they were survivor-sided is not really correct, IMO. There was quite a bunch of good stuff for Killers as well. And lets not forget, survivor-sided Patches are the minority.

Especially the Ruin-Nerf resulted in a big outcry, but I did not notice that much difference in my games. In fact, I think new Ruin is a little bit more annoying, because you basically need to finish the Gen before going for an Unhook.

Using new Killers as evidence for Killer buffs is a flawed argument, as the majority of Killers main a specific Killer and would therefore not care outside of perks

    Played Pig on Disturbed Ward.

-Couldn't really tell much difference in the map. I don't think they did much to this one, though?

-Highest sensitivity way too high. I wasn't used to it. Had to change it mid-match, which probably cost me a little. I kept turning way too much, made it hard to track survivors.

-Still hope this map gets a major rework. Gens spawn way too far apart. There was no reasonable three gen. And in the main building, I still found it hard to find a hook nearby. Downed two survivors inside, had to end up dropping them both inside.

-Matchmaking was excellent. Green Rank Killer vs Green Rank Survivors. We were all around the same rank. not sure if this was the result of people coming back for the update or not.

As I recall, the only change made to the Ward is a reduction of pallets

I have. And it was one of the worst experiences of my life. It took me two whole days to get my adept Nurse and I don't even wanna think about how long it took me to get those 100 downs.

Then how can you even come close to saying she was "easily" overperforming? The god-tier Nurses that slaughter everybody put in an insane amount of practice to build the muscle memory and prediction skills neccesary to counter all the different loops in the game. They most definitely deserve every kill they get simply due to the exorbitant amount of work they put in to be able to achieve them. I WISH I could be as skilled at this game as them. I still wouldn't play Nurse though(not a fan of her aesthetic)

    1) So they nerf a killer that was overperforming rather easily, especially on PC, and buff two other killers that were underperforming and this game is survivor-sided? In what world does the math there add up to this game being survivor-sided?

    2) I'll never understand the ruin argument. Killers bitched all the time about how ruin was cleansed in the first 10 seconds of the game. It only came in clutch in a few games. Despite the ruin nerf, killers are still getting their 4ks. I did ALL of my killer adepts post ruin-nerf and aside from Nurse and Legion, I had little difficulty. Ruin is not necessary. Also medkits/toolboxes/balanced landing have all been nerfed in the last few patches. Killer mains had a "nerf" (I actually like the new ruin better. Especially with Billy) to one perk and suddenly this game is survivor-sided.

    3) Killers don't need compensation. They're OP as is. Nobody is under a 2k average. Even the Clown. This means that killers are winning more often than they're losing.

    4) This isn't an argument as to this game being survivor-sided.

    5) Neither is this.

    6) The game is catered to killers, dude. If a killer can't get his 4K then he did something wrong or didn't capitalize on different strategies.

And then you proceed to show me a bunch of pictures of you slaughtering survivors DESPITE the fact that you complained about being in groups of 4 man SWF/Red Ranks and this game is survivor-sided? WHAT? And survivor queue time is gonna be longer because there's probably less survivors playing right now. I'm not playing the game right now in its current state. I can't be alone in that sentiment.

Dude, have you PLAYED Nurse? Even before she got gutted she was almost impossible to win with without a good deal of practice.

This is by far the most killer sided patch in this game since ages.

Deadzones are now everywhere, godloops are history, slower genspeed, smaller maps and so on.

Complaining now as a killer main is very entitled, dont you agree?

Gen speeds are only slower if you stack on gens, which was already less efficient than splitting up anyways. I'm not complaining ofc, the patch is FAR too new to make any judgement, but I just wanted to point that out.

  • Spine Chill is perfectly fair, it only tells you that the Killer is approaching, it doesn't say where

  • The old Trapper intro is back, so I'm immediately enjoying this patch FAR more than other recent ones

    It's situational...

    1. When you are the last survivor and
    2. the exit gates have spawned relatively close together and
    3. the killer is playing ping pong between the gates and
    4. the hatch is closed and
    5. the EGC timer is running down

This is a fairly common scenario...it would be nice to have some option other than "i'm Fu@k%d"

If you're alone in that situation, you ARE screwed. That's intended, you aren't the power role.

  • Honestly the tutorial in general needs a rework. BHVR should know by now how the highest-skill players run loops, so they should make the tutorial show how to properly run them by having an AI run the loop and having the player replicate it

  • It works pretty well for Demo, but Hag's traps don't trigger if a survivor crouches on them. And Gate progress is saved, so ONE of the gates will eventually open

Pop, Save the best for last, BBQ and the 4th is not always the same, but usually NOED or Surge.

I place the portals near the gens for tracking survivors using the power.

I personally run Corrupt Intervention as my 4th slot, Demo needs that buffer to set up. I would advise putting your portals around corners from gens to more easily get the drop on them. Also try to keep a "hub portal" in the middle of the map so you aren't completely boned if one of your portals get sealed. My personal favorite addons are the Rat Liver(that thing is insane, bumps your movespeed while shredding from 92% all the way up to 101% movement speed, makes Shred WAYY better), and either Deer Lung/Rotten Tripe for travel speed, or Mews Guts/Rotten Pumpkin for an extra portal. if your portals get cleansed a lot, you might want to try Rat Tail (cuts portal creation in half, down to .5 seconds) Don't bother with seal time addons, they're borderline useless, same goes for the mushrooms.

  • Personally I think it would be fine if they knocked the stun down to the standard "wiggle free" stun and made it deactivate when the survivor performs an action that isn't mending, snapping out of it, or waking up, or jumps in a locker. Hell, at that point I would accept it working after every hook at that point. It should also turn off permanently once the EGC begins to prevent a free escape.

  • Demogorgon is really good if you use him right IMO. Where are you placing your portals, and what perks/addons do you use?

  • Honestly, one of my favorite things in the world is seeing my teammates on gens while the Killer facecamps me. Yeah, enjoy your 12k BP you dopey wraith, hope you enjoy watching the rears of my teammates as they run out the gate

  • Shameless whale here, I'm lazy, not toxic. Though I do at least wait until I know I won't reach the items I want to buy tiers

Maybe I need to get new glasses, but I didn't see any camping or tunneling in that clip. Mind enlightening us as to how this Legion could've prevented a gen from popping? Even if they KNEW where the gen was, it would've been done by the time they arrived.

"Most of your complaints are based on lack of skill"... How is it lack of skill when the game is literally Killer sided? Survivor Latency is the biggest flaw this game has that leads to Killers being superior. Dead Hard not working, being hit after vaulting when you're a mile away, being hit while dropping a pallet, or pallets just not dropping at all even though you mashed your space bar into oblivion.. And camping killers have nothing to do with skill, "Just do gens" is a bs excuse and fix to the overall issue. The fact of the matter is, the killer is A) wasting a players time B) making it a poor experience for said player that just sat in a 10-15 minute survivor queue C) gets rewarded for literally not having skill.

First of all, that's blatantly false. Just look at the nerfs to Ruin, Nurse, nigh-perpetual Pig and Legion nerfs, sabo buffs, etc...

Second of all, the game SHOULD be Killer sided. Keep in mind, there are FOUR survivors to the one killer. Make a survivor better than a killer, and it becomes literally impossible for a killer to win

  • Unbreakable is fine, it just needs to not work so damn well with DS. They have WAY too much synergy, they give 1 minute of literal invulnerability. A simple buff for No Mither is to make it so that it's not a giant neon sign saying "kill me first". Change the permanent Broken effect to a permanent Exposed effect, that way it's not noticable at the start of the match, and only Killers that are paying attention will notice that they have No Mither. As an added bonus, No Mither will no longer end up being a 5th perk for Oni, and other survivors can get points for healing the No Mither person.

I think you misunderstand. People say ranks are meaningless because people like you believe you can be “boosted” on a game that requires objective play to rank up.

it’s actually quite funny that people complain about this ranking - I think they’d have a heart attack if they played other games

The only way you can easily become boosted is through SWF due to the inherent ease given by proper comms and good teammates. You can technically get boosted by randoms, but you need to either have phenomenally good randoms or catastrophically bad initial skill. In normal solo survivor gameplay, you generally shouldn't end up at an improper rank imo

  • @SmarulKusia said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1237159#Comment_1237159

The only difference is that the community likes to use ranks against players when arguing about things. But then also likes to argue that ranks are meaningless.

people need to pick a side

ACHIEVING ranks is meaningless due to a lack of reward despite constant resets, but you should still be expected to not be a potato at red ranks assuming you aren't SWF

  • @CptainPotato said:

"What was the thought process behind the Add-on retention change? (from @Aven_Fallen)

Add-ons were always supposed to be consumable items for both roles. When the change was made to allow players to keep items that ran out of charges, it happened that many more add-ons were also being kept. It was more in line with the original design intent that players should lose their add-ons at the end of the match regardless, as it was never intended that players of either role should have enough add-ons available that they would be able to bring a full set every match."

This is straight up BS, people ask about a revertion of this change since it has been implemented. It has been already pointed out how little survivors earn compared to a killer while having to browse 4 times more items/addons. Bloodweb has become a hell of a grind while adding nothing beneficial to the game. Why not either increasing BP earning, boosting WGLF perk (which is nothing comparable to BBQ) or rework the bloodweb and the addons you can find in it.

I'd suggest several changes such as adding a crafting system, so that people can get the addons that they want instead of randomly finding them in the bloodweb. And this would be added with an Item/addon value system, where each addon has a value, and you can't exceeed the value number of the addons you're bringing to a game (however instead of bringing max 2 addons, you can bring 3). for instance iridescent is 5 points, purple 4, green 3, yellow 2 and brown 1 value point. You have a limit of 10 Item points. So one can bring a purple medkit with 2 greens addons, or a purple medkit with 1 iridescent and 1 brown addons or even a purple medkit with 3 yellow addons). Same would be applied to killers.

This would be better because it limits what you can bring, while enticing people to bring the best that they can and choosing wisely their addon/item combination. However for that to work, the whole addons have to be reworked to be more or les efficient than the actual ones.

    Soz for the rant/suggestion.

I think an easy fix would be to let players trade in addons from one item for a random addon of the same color for a chosen item

I think it's just hard to tell. Plenty of threads with you involved in them. And it seems to be the same thing over and over again. Everything that a survivor has is OP. Everything that a killer has is easily countered. Kinda hard to tell when someones joking about something being OP when everything is to them.

Literally the only things I find OP are god loops, DS locker tech, and DS+Unbreakable. I do feel that Exhaustion perks are crutches in the same way that NOED supposedly is.

Yes, run to a pallet or to a different window, but where is the counter to bamboozle? According to that logic we could also say the absolue same thing about pretty much any other perk like for example DS - "just go for a different survivor". Explain me the difference in terms of counter.

Again. pop has no counter. Killer hooks, he gets the pop. The only direct counter is "dont die".

Alright so now we are back on the "m1 killer dont need counter because bad" argument. Very strong argument, Trump would be so proud of you.

Monitor has no counter, it reduces the terror radius, end of the story. Use your eyes is no counter at all, since the terror radius will still be 8 meter reduced, no matter how hard you look. Do you realise that you use the same argument for spine chill but for spinechill you want to make your argument work and for monitor you want to make the argument not work? Moving backwards or look sideways is a simple adaption to playstyle to counter Spine Chill. If this is a good thing or not is not up for debate, but if we considere your logic, it is a counter. Monitors counter would be to do a gen that is in the open so you have FOV. Therefore the counter is to adapt your play, like you would as killer vs spinechill.

Dont let me even start with OoO, the counter is already basekit. The killer also sees you. Both sides benefit from that perk. I only wanted to mention that you can even put yourself in a terrible spot if you up against a stealthkiller.

You just repeated my counter to bamboozle, and that IS the counter for DS, I'm not arguing on that point.

I told you, Pop Goes The Weasel only works on gens that are NOT currently regressing. Generator regression is EXTREMELY slow (4 seconds of regression is equal to 1 second of active repair, not counting slowdown perks), so just don't resume repairs until the Killer is gone. Use some situational awareness.

That literally is the counter for M1 Killers. Have you ever played Wraith, Legion, or Plague at high ranks? They get looped forever unless they can mindgame properly.

Using your eyes IS the counter for Monitor, same as Stealth Killers. Relying on the Killer's TR to tell you where they are is incredibly foolish thanks to the sheer number of perks that can affect it, along with the number of Killers that can naturally suppress it with their power.

Object only reveals you to the Killer if you're either an idiot or you WANT them to see you. Survivors that are solo use it to "ping" the killer and make sure they aren't nearby, in which case they will keep looking away to keep the Killer from seeing them. SWF, on the other hand, gives their partners what amounts to free aura reading with no counter. And the "Stealth Killer" counter is borderline useless, since only Ghostface, Wraith, Pig, and T1 Myers actually get the Undetectable effect. Demo technically does, but it's such a short period that it's irrelevant.

Yeah. Exhaustion perks way too op. I've actually never really heard that argument before. I can't remember the last time I played a game and the killer said. I MORI YOU BECAUSE YOU HAVE BALANCED LANDING! Or ... I tunnel you because you use Lithe! I guess we're really getting down to the bare minimum if we're now under the impression that exhaustion perks are OP. Damn those Sprint Burst players!

So I always see you taking the killer side in arguments on here. Is your way of balancing the game to take perks away from survivors?

Nobody moris people for having perks lol, you're being absurd. And people who tunnel don't do it because of a perk, they do it to get somebody killed fast.

    Lets see:

BBQ - Aura Read, which can be really good on some Killers, quite useful on a bunch of Killers and will not do much on other Killers. But still, it does something.

    WGLF - nothing.

BBQ - Get 4 Stacks by simply playing the game and do what you have to do anyway.

WGLF - Either rush for Unhooks while competing with 2 other Survivors for each Unhook or take unneccesary Protection Hits which make no sense other than giving your Stacks.

    Yeah, totally compareable.

It doesn't excuse refusing to run it then complaining about no BP at the same time. You have an option, even if it isn't as good.

Actually you can’t always predict, and it’s something that I commonly see as slip up in red ranks.

anyways, I climbed to my all time high, rank 2 so gg

And that is one of the mistakes that Killers capitalize on. If you can properly predict the Killer, you will NEVER get caught if you can keep LOS broken. And like I said, your rank clearly means nothing since you can't perform a basic task expected of high-rank survivors, which means you are objectively boosted. Chances are you were one of the baby survivors whining that Ruin checks were "too hard"

You can't whine about losing chases too quickly while refusing to take the path that doesn't involve losing chases

  • It could be that you're getting hit by the lunge bug. Sometimes a Killer lunge won't actually lunge, and you'll be stuck in one spot for the duration of the lunge.

I find looping on the map pretty difficult actually, because you break LOS with the killer really easily - and whilst other claim this to be the best thing for survivor ever - it’s the worst thing for me. I can’t tell where the killer is so it’s hard for me to decide where I should go.

maps like institute? I can run the killers with ease (though I do get lost on the map because for some reason I can’t envision the layout of it in my head) but meat plant is very difficult and as I’ve mentioned, the tight corridors and narrow spaces are a godsend to killers with long range abilities.

i don’t think I’ve ever lost a game on meat plant either as killer, and I play wraith mainly which that map isn’t really good for because his stealth is useless due to how small the map is generally speaking lol

If you get mindgamed any time you lose LOS on a Killer at rank 3-4, then you are boosted. It's not the map's fault.

NOED isn't OP. It's in the game for a reason. Adrenaline is great even for survivors that aren't getting chased, the speed boost can get them halfway to the gates before the Killer even knows what hit them. And you know looping isn't the only way to evade the Killer, right? Hell, NOT getting found gives WAY more points in the Evader emblem than winning chases. And before you complain about missing out on chase BP, there's an easy way to get Boldness points that also happens to prevent a certain perk from coming into effect
