You need 1 perk slot to counter tunneling, you need 1 perk slot to counter camping, you need 1 perk slot to counter slugging, you need 1-2 perk slot to run the killer.. and now we need another perk slot to find totems? You killers hate "Survivor Meta Perks", but you give us no choice but to run them due to your playstyle..

If you need perks to help you loop a Killer, you probably suck at looping. Just saying.

  • Do gens, stop rewarding the camper.

It's true that you can't realistically pressure your way out of a first gen pop, but that's just like how Survivors can't realistically stealth/loop their way out of their team getting a few hooks.

Both sides always get early progress on their objectives easily. What matters isn't so much the first/second gen/hook, what matters is the third, fourth, and fifth.

By that logic survivors should only have 2 hooks to be sacrificed. you can't stealth/loop you way out of being hooked anyway, so who cares?

So i've been playing against over-buffed survivors? because i've only even been in games when it's burned by the killer, and not the survivor/s.

What Killers? The VAST majority definitely do not enjoy the Meat Plant

I’ve only ever seen a killer pick this map as an offering. This isn’t a one-sided rage. The map is literally a killer free-win match because of how stupidly the map is designed.

I’m not saying that survivors should win - but they don’t even get a chance on this map and the only killer that is disadvantaged playing on this map is Myers.

if you don’t like the truth then that’s on you lol

Literally no Killer in their right mind would burn a Game offering except pre-rework doctor or a Pig main that wants to be lore-friendly

What are you even talking about? What kind of mindless response was that..

It was about "no counterplay perks". Where is the counterplay of Bamboozle again? Its a bad perk? Amazing counterplay per se wow 200IQ argument.

Or your "counterplay" to Pop. Are you serious right now? Just dont do gens? Amazing counterplay!

Or hide 2 minutes until corrupt runs out? Amazing counterplay! :D

And yea dont forget the counterplay of STBFL... the uncommonly of the perk ROFL. THAT is counterplay i have not ever heard of.

Or Monitor, use Spine Chill to counter it. Like spinechill has no counter... and on top of it, when using perks to counter killer perks, what does it mean for those survivor perks with "no counterplay"? Yes, you can not use those.

You dont even know what counterplay means obviously, so stop arguing or at least think before you write something.

I literally told you: run pallet loops or loop at tiles with 2 windows, only one can be blocked at a time

I didn't say to not do gens, i said to not tap to pause regression. Only repair if the Killer is otherwise occupied.

Corrupt only blocks 3 gens, either work on one of the 4 open gens or hide for 2 minutes. It has literally no other effect and the Killer has 3 perks once it's gone.

And I said its uncommon for non-m1 killers. M1 Killers are braindead-easy to counter, just loop them at any tile. The only Killers that STBFL is considered "Meta" on is Trapper and Demo due to their ability to use their M2 to down the obsession or use traps to potentially double their stacks

Spinechill does in fact have no counter. Good luck walking backwards to survivors without hitting every obstacle on the map. Otherwise use your eyes like I said. Monitor reduces 32M Killers to 24M and 24M Killers to 16M. To my knowledge, Spirit tends to be the only 24M Killer that commonly uses Monitor, and her power is very noticable, so you can simply walk away from the generator. If you don't hear the Killer's TR for an extended period of time at the start if the trial, you should be on guard to begin with, as it means that you're likely to be up against a stealth Killer. If somebody with Monitor gets the drop on you, it's your own fault for not paying attention.

  • Add "heal a full health state" to the list of things that give tokens and it would be mostly balanced as a BP perk

C'mon dude. A killer is not using No Ones Even Dead yet to teach survivors to do the bones.

The use it, praying that one totem is hidden so well it doesn't get cleansed and maybe they can get some kills at the end.

Like @GrannyonAcid mentioned, some of us come from a time where it was embarrassing to be a noed killer.

I'll take the lose and avoid using this perk myself.

Correct, people are using NOED to CAPITALIZE on the fact that nobody does the bones. NOED would be far weaker if survivors actually did bones or at the very least made a mental note of where they were. I personally don't use NOED, so I am perfectly happy trying to get survivors to actually cleanse dull totems

Adrenaline: Not op at all, they have to run 3 perks the whole game to get it activated, which is not always (mildly said) the case. On top of that, the benefit is not that great most of the time.

DS: There is an amazing counter to that: Dont tunnel. And if the survivor runs in your way, down and slug her. Whats the big deal?

Unbreakable: Pretty much the same with DS.

    Exhaustion perks: Are you joking?

OoO: Play a stealth killer and have a free wallhack while the survivor has no cluse where you are all the time.

    Diversion: lol

"There is no counter" is such a bullshit argument. I could also say where is the "counter" of bamboozle? Or Pop? Or corrupt? Or Safe the best for last? Or Monitor and Abuse? Or Or Or....

    Adrenaline:hmm, that sounds mighty familiar...

DS&Unbreakable: Literal invincibility for 60 seconds, not even taking into account locker techs

Exhaustion Perks basically net you a free escape every 40 seconds

OoO: unlike survivors, Killers can't just "play a different Killer". They tend to have a Killer that they enjoy playing and are good at.

If you can't tell that Diversion was a joke I cannot help you

Bamboozle is laughably bad, just use pallets instead, or loop at a tile with 2 vaults, he can only block one

Pop: don't tap gens, the killer can't kick a gen if it's already regressing

Corrupt: Hide for the 2 minutes if you REALLY don't want to fix the open gens

STBFL is uncommon on non-M1 Killers, so just loop them normally

Monitor: Use your eyes, stop relying on the TR to tell you where the Killer is. Or run Spine Chill, I literally never take it off as survivor, because it also guts stealth killers

I see a hex perk in almost every match. Many Killers have started to use Devour Hope a lot, and lot of Cowboys are using Third Seal. NoEd is on almost every other Killer I face. So no, giving up 1 Perk slot to counter a Killers 1 perk slot isn't useless.

I'm curious, what makes Third Seal good on the Slinger?

The pebble? Object of Obsession? Exhaustion perks? Adrenaline? What the hell is op about those?

    Pebble was obviously a joke

OoO is free aura reading on the Killer

Exhaustion perks let you escape the Killer for free every 40 seconds with the exception of Dead Hard

Adrenaline is literally an unavoidable free health state plus sprint

Killers aren’t perk reliant, I’m in purple ranks and run zero perks most games - my games are mostly made up of red rank survivors with full set of perks and even then I get 4ks. But ok

What Killer are you? There's a big difference between playing Nurse or Billy than Myers or Legion perkless. And Red Ranks are an ENTIRELY different ballgame than purple ranks

What benefit is there to bringing you out of your cloak? I stop to burn you with my torch, you catch up with me and rather than ring your bell with slow down etc you just walk right up to me and hit me???? What use would that be to the survivor????

"Please hit me Wraith, I'll even uncloak you for it."

When Wraith gets burnt by a flashlight, he gets stunned for like 5 seconds. Any competent survivor will be LONG gone by then

  • @ClickyClicky said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1234749#Comment_1234749

    Thats how they want it

    ”just cleans totems”

”hey devs can you hide the totems better please? I want survivors to spend 5 minutes straight looking for a totem”

    Fair and balanced.

Imagine complaining that Killers want a secondary objective so that gens don't get done in under 5 minutes. Survivor are FAR less perk-reliant than the vast majority of Killers, they can survive without having a 4-pack of second chance perks and use something to actually counter the Killer perks that they love to complain about so much

  • Keys would be fine if they were limited to the bloodweb. That way if a Survivor uses one, the Killer can run Franklins or something to counter it. Meanwhile, if a Survivor find a key during the trial, the Killer likely won't realize until they've already gone through the hatch

  • @Shocktober said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1202176#Comment_1202176

And that leaves any killer who already didn't need perks to win chases in a completely overpowered state. You don't need any perks to win chases, really only bamboozle if you specifically wanted to shut down god windows; on M1 killers only. Plenty of killers already had powers to stop them. Trapper can trap it, doctor can shock, freddy can snare, etc etc.

So now they balance the game so that a pig can run around downing people with no problems, and that makes the killers like billy ridiculously strong.

You will be praying for the entire map to be a loop when you are getting tunnel mori'd. Now it's just deadzones and you die by default? I might only be playing killer after this patch, with a tiny bit of survivor mixed in when I want to play locker simulator.

Billy gets looped like any other Killer, his power is based on mobility. If you run short loops, he will never chainsaw you unless he's highly skilled

  • @Shocktober said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1234765#Comment_1234765

I think trading off 1 perk for a guaranteed kill at the end of the game if you lose is a pretty fair trade. Perk builds for survivor are needed when you run into competent players running any of the myriad of overpowered things killers can muster. Sure you can run around perkless, if the killer is mediocre and playing nice. But when you run into a good camping tunneling freddy with a mori and red add-ons? Yeah, I think you are gonna need the perks.

Name one Killer perk that is both OP and uncounterable. I'll wait. In the meantime, here's a list of Survivor perks that are both OP and uncounterable

    1. Adrenawin
    2. DS(jump in a locker)
    3. Unbreakable(run with DS)
    4. Exhaustion perks(admittedly Dead Hard is unreliable at best these days)
    5. Object of Obsession
    6. The Pebble
  • @Lexilogo said:

Well, Empathy is a Survivor Perk, not a Killer one, after all.

Jokes aside the skillcurve with Killer is ultimately about maintaining pressure to prevent generators from getting completed too quickly, which has an absolute butt-ton of different components to improve with. However, because a lot of people don't have the self-awareness to assess those qualities about themselves, they blame genspeeds, because they see generators popping quickly, that's why they lose matches, therefore make them slower. They don't really consider the chases they could've ended quicker, the Survivors who successfully snuck past them, the map pressure they could've exerted smarter, or the player movements they could've predicted.

I DO think aspects of the game in relation to Survivor objectives need improving however, Survivors essentially need to make mistakes for Killers to capitalise on them and exert enough pressure to stop them from genrushing- Without doing that, at the highest level of play Survivors generally have too much time against too many Killers and thus can win matches too reliably right now IMO at the highest level of play. Nuance!

You can't pressure your way out of a generator popping in the time it takes to cross Ormond or Mother's Dwelling. Depending on Survivor spawns and items, the first generator can pop in 27 seconds, and thats AFTER the toolbox nerf

  • @Shocktober said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1234716#Comment_1234716

Good luck finding all the totems on the indoor maps, or a map like springwood. Good way to waste 3-4+ minutes without a dedicated totem hunting build which will be useless 9/10 games because you don't see NOED too often at high ranks.

Killers will always make excuses for this perk. And I main killer, I know it's BS and I don't even try to deny it.

Perk build means almost nothing for survivor, there are MANY red rank survivors who can consistantly escape perkless. You can stand to lose a couple of your second chance perks, considering the Killer is already playing with 3 perks for 90% of the game.

  • Survivors are identical

Ghostface because of how horribly inconsistent his power is.

  • Don't run in a straight line and keep breaking LOS and you instantly remove the instadowns of 90% of Killers. The only instadowns I would say are OP are Huntress because if Infantry Belt and Ghostface because of how broken his stealth is.

Oni has 0 instadown capability unless he hits healthy survivors twice

Billy has limited steering after he dashes for about half a second

Myers has no power if you properly break LOS

Bubba is an absolute joke assuming you can loop properly. If you feel that worried, just drop the pallet early.

Huntress you need to break LOS as much as possible or get good at dodging and hope to god she doesnt have a belt

For Ghostface, my only real advice is to run Spine Chill. If it lights up for more than 2-3 seconds with no TR, then you're facing a stealth Killer and need to get ready to run

  • @Shocktober said:

Nothing like not seeing or dumping on the killer for the entire game only to get 1 shot and die on your first hook. I still think it's the biggest crutch in the game.

Nothing like deciding not to complete a secondary objective that gives a lot of bloodpoints, then complaining about getting punished for it

  • If you were solo I could understand being upset(seriously @Peanits, when can we get a totem counter?), but if you're SWF theres literally no excuse to not have all 5 totems done by the time the 5th generator pops, especially since you evidently have comms for callouts.

  • If you try to save against a facecamping Bubba, you deserve whatever comes to you. His entire kit revolves around making it impossible for someone to be safely unhooked if he wants them on the hook.

  • ah ######### I can't believe you've done this

  • @PigMainClaudette said:

Well, if it was a decently designed perk, wasn't super easy to get, and didn't have such a devastating effect for such little effort, then we wouldn't have these problems now, would we? Same if killers stopped using perks like this to lean into rather than adapt or accept that you might OCCASIONALLY lose a match or two.

Besides, survivors already complain to each other enough and I for one DO THE DAMN BONES. If killers stopped giving this garbage excuse then maybe some survivors wouldn't be so angry about it.

And if killers get a free pass on DS, BT, Unbreakable, Dead Hard and Adrenaline, then survivors get to complain about NoED.

Maybe they should take their own advice and "git gud".

How dare we complain about the fact that survivors have FIVE TIMES as many second chance perks as us.

  • @ChiTenshi said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1229089#Comment_1229089

There are better ways to encourage Survivors to do alternate objectives without relying on a poorly designed Perk to do all the work.

You mean like Inner Strength? or the fact that they give 1kBP per totem?

  • @Respectfulnancymain said:

Arnt you tired of complaing about ds, bt, dh, swf and gen rush

Honestly IMO BT is fine, and the only issues I have with DS are that it should turn off if the survivor goes into a locker or performs any action besides mending. I only have an issue with the fact that SWF tends to have comms which gives them an insane advantage. Gen speeds are definitely an issue. On larger maps like Ormond or Mother's Dwelling, a gen can pop in the time it takes for the Killer to cross the map if they don't have a mobility power. Hell, Otz had a game where the first generator popped in 27 seconds.

  • @BigBrainMegMain said:

    Jesus Christ, another key post.

Either tunnel the survivor with the key, or bring Franklin's if you're so Phobic about it, my GOD!

That doesn't help if they find it in a chest. Personally I think keys would be fine if they were bloodweb-only. Finding a key in a chest is just too big of a game-changer to have up to RNG.

  • Run Iron Will and Resilience then. Iron Will makes healing entirely unnecesary and Resiliance partially negates the slowdown. plus 16% reduction to gen speed is pretty laughable considering how fast coop speeds are. Thana is only a threat if you're dumb enough to Self Care with it and Sloppy on.

  • Don't worry about what other people think. People say Demogorgon is a ######### Killer, but that doesn't stop me from maining it and enjoying it. I'm personally not a big fan of the Deathslinger(never did like cowboys all that much, more of a monster/dinosaur guy), but I can understand the appeal of the whole "speargun" shtick.

  • @citron said:

BBQ is not "needed" its used for the blood points

you could take away the survivor reveal and id still use it as its the only reason left to play killer.

can you image going through the pain of playing killer and getting the same BPs and a survivor... ugh

BBQ's aura reading is incredible for keeping pressure, especially for Billy, Nurse, and Demogorgon(and Huntress if you have 5000IQ). Not having to wonder where you should go after hooking somebody is invaluable in the current genrush meta

  • @gatsby said:

The meta perks are drastically better than anything else on Killer and no matter who you are running them will instantly improve your gameplay. Pop, Corrupt and BBQ. Good on every Killer everywhere. All DLC Killers.

For Survivors, some of the strongest perks in the game are all on free characters. Sprint Burst, Dead Hard, Adrenaline, Bond, Iron Will, Self-Care, Unbreakable, Borrowed Time, Spine Chill, Resilience, Prove Thyself. The only really strong perk that isn't on a free Survivor is Decisive, but it's been in the game so long that the majority of people will have it for free since Laurie has been here since 2016.

Idk just feels a little strange to me. If Killers don't have the exact meta they get gen rushed to shreds, but Survivors have more freedom in builds and super open access to the best perks from the start

Techinically only Chili requires money, Plague and Clown are both available with shards, and their perks are relatively common in the shrine, especially compared to BBQ

  • @BabyClaudette said:

So my idea for noed is:

    1. It is no longer a hex perk.

    2. Once the exit gates are powered, survivors are exposed for 3 minutes (maybe that's too long idk).

    3. For every remaining dull totem on the map, once the gates are powered, the killer gains an extra 30 seconds of the exposed effect.

Edit: 4. Keep the speed boost.

This change would give survivors a reason to do totems, because if you are a solo survivor it's very hard to do all of the totems when you don't know how many your teammates have done. Also it would still benefit the killer even if all totems are done.

Idk if this a good change or not you tell me. Also, please no dumb replies.

Here's a better idea: cleanse the totems. If you can't find them, there are perks to help you.

So you say camping/tunneling occurs "almost every single match"? So what do you consider camping/tunneling?

Camping - Is the killer staying CLOSE to a hooked survivor. Definitely not a solid strategy, because it ruins everyone's experience including the killer's.

Tunneling - Chasing a single person until they're dead. Now, if some stupid survivor is going to unhook near the killer, it's not tunneling to go for the injured person first. However, if this killer ignores people they find anywhere else and ONLY searches for a specific person, that is tunneling.

Camping happens MUCH more frequently than tunneling. But the problem is people have begun to say chasing an injured survivor instead of going for the rescuer is tunneling, which just isn't the case.

Honesly, if the rescuers would stop vanishing, I'd stop going for the unhooked survivor. Hooking the same guy doesnt get me my chili

I think you are underestimating Stakeout. I run it every match and it's pretty darn reliable and always adds value. It essentially makes up for times spent into stealth by converting it into action speed with garenteed greats. Probably my favorite perk on survivor. Also helps making plays like intentionally failing a skill check to lure a killer away from your teammates doing gens on the other side of the map. Then you use the tokens to get repairs back quick when the killer leaves. Has come in clutch quite a few times with both heals and gens. Greats give 3x points as well so hitting caps is a lot quicker for both altruism and objective.

Honestly, the biggest issue I have is that it's almost a crutch for skill checks, it only helps those who can't hit greats

  • @Clevite said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1192950#Comment_1192950

Yeah after they completed their objectives and had only 3 perks all game. Not failed in theirs.

    See what I did there.

So when Survivors play with 3 perks all game it's skill, but when Killers do it it's a crutch?

  • @KrazyAce13 said:

And they added an increase to the skillcheck bonus to another perk, they really haven’t done much it won’t make a difference.

Stake Out only gets tokens if you are in the Killer's TR though, and fairly slowly at that. That means that not only will the survivor not be on a generator, but they also have a far higher chance of getting found.

Dunno if someone pointed out but I had a game today where Hag camped me on first hook. Teammates did gens and I got saved after 1 gen was left. We finished it and opened an exit only to see she had NOED and (should have played around it) Blood Warden. We had the Hawkings map where some of the totem spawns are really hard to find. I did one and at least 2 others were cleansed if you can trust teammates in post game chat. Was that game fun? No, to sit 1.5mins on a hook and waiting 60secs to get out was pain. 2 made out that game and thats because the hag was like rank 16 or something. Any competent killer with that setup would have gotten easy 4k just because the snowball NOED gives. Granted we should have done totems but sometimes you just cant and dont have the time to do it. What I'm saying is that playstyle like that is extremely boring on both sides and doesnt make you learn anything, and given how good bad killers do with it imagine good ones rolling over with it.

The only reason you wouldn't have time to do it is because you refused to do it. If you have trouble finding totems, run Detective's Hunch.

If that were truly the case, you'd have earned nothing. This game is point based. You do well, you earn points. Why else would it order the survivors by how many points they earned. You earn points for upgrading your characters. Higher levels, better stuff. If you stick with Trapper, there's an add-on that makes it so that anyone that escapes your traps without assistance goes into the dying state. There's even one that makes it so every 30 seconds, one of your closed traps resets itself so you don't have to. All of these require blood points. So that's how I gauge victory.

Unless that stupid Dwight tea bags at me every time he drops a pallet and clicks that flashlight at me. Then the only victory is making sure his insides decorate the countryside...

But other than that, yeah, blood points.

Literally every bloodpoint category for Killers is primarily filled by killing survivors.

Brutality: Hitting survivors gives TRIPLE the bloodpoints of damaging props

Deviousness: 90% of Killer powers are used to hinder survivors in some way, and you get a whopping 2.5k bonus for killing everyone

Hunting: Self-explanatory. Find and down survivors, get points.

Sacrifice: Literally the entire category is based around survivors dying

  • It's meant for you to sabo as the Killer approaches now.

  • @DWolfAlpha said:

Um...ok? Dude you got second place. Sacrificing survivors may technically be your primary objective, but that's still only a quarter of the game. Although, being a Legion main might be affecting what I consider to be fun...

Killing the survivors is the Killers entire objective. It says so in the tutorial.

Whoa definitely not. Trapper is one of the better killers. He’s anti loop. He Trap loops, Traps vaults, he’s fast. Noooooo. Clown and plague need a buff.

Trapper is mid-tier at best. Good survivors will be able to tell where he's likely to put traps, and high rank teams almost always have one OoO, which completely neuters him

  • @Triforcer said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1228733#Comment_1228733

I do that, actually- I started running recently, and was surprised by how much it helps (except for ultra-focused SWFs, everyone isn't instantly on a gen). Now its mandatory.

But since all of matches are people ranging from ranks 1-6 (even though I hover around rank 11-12), I still need to do everything else I mentioned. Like I said, I'm not a good killer.

Honestly I would suggest picking a different Killer. Wraith has good first hit potential, but his power doesnt help much in actual chases against good survivors. A better choice would be Billy if you don't have any DLC Killers. You're gonna want Killers with good mobility for the genrush meta.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1228269#Comment_1228269

But as I explained, solo players want the pip so they’re forced to unhook, swf just want to help their friend.

Killer mains saying “just do gens” that results in the person on the hook having a ######### game, queuing for longer than they actually get to play and the rest just hold m1 on gens with no input from the killer.

Acting like that makes it ok and legit is dumb as hell. Its dull and not how the game is meant to be played. Imagine if that was every game, just holding M1 unopposed, and 1 survivor picked at random is going to have their entire game consist of sitting on a hook. Sure you’d beat campers but who would want to play that?

It needs to change. If survivors are going to lose points for not unhooking and be forced to get altruism to pip at red ranks then it needs to change. Proxy camp, tunnel and NOED requires no effort and is too successful. Most games tend to adjust things like this but then this is Dead by Daylight so anything goes I guess

Guess what? If that's how the games go, people will stop camping. Quit giving campers the 3-4k, and you'll find that camping will magically go away outside of brown ranks

How is Camping, then tunneling, then slugging not toxic? At this point you're just showing you're a toxic killer main.

I never said anything about camping and tunneling for that very reason. I just meant that slugging to wait out DS isn't toxic

I swear to God, can salty people in these forums make A SINGLE POINT without resorting to "well, the other side complains about it so I can too"? Are we really trapped in a kindergarten time loop?
