Ok by the same token survivors have to run Unbreakable to counter a slugging killer, camping killer well you'd better have BT. Now see how that's a double standard when saying you shouldn't have to run something?
You can see survivors items and player choices, you already know whether you're going to camp/slug/tunnel etc.
Once again missing my point entirely.
-
It's decent but has drawbacks based on the killer you're against. If you run it, don't come to rely on it
-
@Blueberry said:
Slugging isn't reliable. The current DS is also punishing many killers that aren't tunneling.
If you can slug the unhooked and then chase the rescuer you're effectively disabling half the survivors from fixing gens. A 3rd has to pick up the slugged one too

Well hag can easily replace them and she also knows when they get burned and how is that any different than running over them to trigger them? Wait till she's in a chase then run across every trap in sight.
Traps also respawn insanely fast even without running Hangman's and most Wraiths run Lightborn if they see a flashlight in lobby. Also both Nurse and wraiths just look away so it's not as easy.
In regards to hag, yes you can replace them but that's not the point. And yeah you can run over them when she's in a chase but that's not necessarily the best plan. She can teleport to you and hit you when you do that. You're just completely missing my point, that it's fine for one perk to counter another when there's perks and items that have the potential to outright shut down a killers power entirely. Sure you can run Lightborn but that doesn't stop the flashlight from stunning you. And if it did, that's requiring a killer to run a perk just to counter an item that, for some reason, is extra effective against that particular killer.
-

@ClogWench What powers. Flashlights are so hard to use compared. They counter hag traps but thats it now. I havent Light burnt a wraith in Months and I have tried.
Being able to outright deny a power with an item in a box is pretty big. You can also remove the trappers traps with a toolbox or a perk. And you can still lightburn Wraith and Nurse.

Already weak killer getting worse isn't a problem? Really?
Also, I meant that Hag might be boned regardless because I don't know if Phantasm hits work or not because of the Spirit.
Killers like Freddy and Doctor have bigger problems in top tier. The place those killers shine is in low tier play, where killer is naturally stronger because survivors don't have the skills to abuse killer weaknesses. So while yeah it sucks if you're rank 1 trying to play Doctor, I don't think MoM is gonna be game changing considering it's already an uphill battle and once the hype dies down, red ranks won't be using it much.
Overall I think MoM is gonna be a strong low tier perk to help survivors that honestly need the help, and won't have a huge impact on high tier play

Tell me what the difference between MoM and old DS is. Unless you want to make the claim that old DS wasn't broke anyway.
MoM is situational based on the killer you're facing. A number of perks and powers work around it.

The only non M1 Killers are Huntress, Billy, Pig, Legion and LF. Apparently it's not working against Nurse, but it is against Spirit. So Freddy, Clown, and Doctor are just #########. Wraith either requires a surprise attack or is just boned. Trapper and Hag need you to step in traps or they are boned. Myers and Plague are kinda boned in that they sometimes needs less hits, but the hits still count.
I wasn't sure if clown counted if they were intoxicated when hit. As for hag, i get most of my hits from traps. Still, that's a few generally weak killers who are fully boned and some who are only slightly affected by it. I wouldn't say that's enough to warrant the panic it's getting.

So you're basically saying it's balanced because "supposedly" not many people are going to use it. Got it. With that logic, the old DS would've been balanced if it wasn't used as much, right.
Not what I was saying. It's only useful against a few killers, and those killers won't have to worry too much about it cause why would you run a perk that's only gonna be useful to counter the weakest of killers anyway? It's not balanced because no one will use it. Once people are used to it, no one is gonna use it because it's weak and situational.

Pray tell how a M1 killer adapts to MoM? Just don't hit Survivors? @Nos37
There's what, 2 M1 killers? Maybe 3? And once survivors realize it doesn't work against 75% of killers they're not gonna run it nearly as much

You're not arguing against the main point of my argument. Nice ad hominem though.
Coldwind sucks against very specific setups of perks, yeah I get it. Big deal. Some maps are better geared towards certain sides, that's just how the game is. Get used to it. You still have faster movement speed and can see the survivor through the walls too. Lotta killers can work around that strategy as well.

Meanwhile we have entire killer powers being negated by OoO.
We have killer powers being negated by a simple flashlight even.

This poor argument has been refuted ad nauseam.
So, OK. Then let's assume that all four survivors were just as skilled as that player.
They are all running Object of Obsession and are all on gens.
They see me approaching.
They run to a jungle gym with a long wall on Rotten Fields. Let's throw in a double pallet for good measure, just for extra spitefulness... Because that's a thing right now.
I abandon chase.
I go to another survivor.
They do the same.
At least 3-4 generators will be done by the time I get the first down due to having to exhaust all the pallets, and them looping the long wall, and the distance between generators on Rotten Fields.
EZ DUUUD
But that wasn't the case, was it? You faced ONE guy with that build and got such bad tunnel vision that you didn't go after anyone else and wasted your time chasing one guy. And even if you did get 4 people with that same very specific build at once, on that specific map, that doesn't excuse you for acting like a spoiled brat who didn't get his way. Grow up dude.

Exactly!
Time is a resource. If I cannot force survivors into making mistakes, then they are guaranteed the maximum amount of stall time.
It's braindead easy to stall because of those walls. I can't moonwalk, I can't pretend I'm moonwalking. You can't do anything but play on the survivor's terms... YOU HAVE NO CHOICE.
You have the choice to break chase and find someone else.
-
@Peasant said:
@ClogWench Just to help the OP clarify. On the Cold Wind Farm maps due to the gaps between the boards for the loop structures the map's mind game tiles are braindead as they are easily seen through.
I'm aware but as killer you can also see the survivor. Besides if you're having that much trouble with one survivor, leave them and focus on the weaker ones. It still comes down to him being outplayed by a better player.

You're not understanding the situation.
See through walls + Object of obsession = Survivor knows where I am at all times = Survivor will (with sufficient game knowledge and skill) NEVER MAKE ANY MISPLAYS.
They can see you and you can see them. Once you get close enough to them that they're in your TR, they can't see your aura and OoO isn't in play anymore. It sounds like you just got outplayed and would rather blame it on anything other than your own inability
-
Been getting back into competitive Pokemon lately. Also playing a lot of Fallout 4 and Slime Rancher
-
Gay and trans, baby B)
-
I'm with the survivor on this one honestly. And reading the way you reacted you just sound like an entitled child. Besides, OoO only works outside the killers TR so it's not gonna have the effect you seem to be under the illusion that it did.

Survivors who are camped to death have the SMALL mercy of getting into another game. Killers don’t have that luxury against nasty survivors. They’re forced to stay until survivors choose to leave or listen to your idle threat of dcing if they don’t gtfo.
I try not to dodge unless I have had a bad day and don’t want to go against nasty try hards hellbent on causing misery. I too play fair and square on both sides, and therefore because I play both I know that there is a big power imbalance in favor of survivors, and killers need to be buffed. Survivor should not be the easy peasy walk in the park while killers are the ones scared to go past lockers. Playing survivor anytime should feel like how most survivors feel against mirror Myers with an Ebony Mori. Scared and at least feel like they survived by the skin of their teeth.
As killer you have the power to force them to leave. If they aren't visibly in the exit Gate they're nearby. If you're having trouble still, run NOED and/or Remember Me. Stop blaming your own shortcomings on others.
-
"possible" is a strong word for this scenario

@pemberley said:

And it really don’t mean squat when you consider survivors have:
1 goal easily met by locker hopping
16 perks collective. There’s always more than 4 altogether.
And killers have:
Multiple goals with a lot of caveats, ifs, and buts
Only 4 perks max to cover the multitude of things they have to defend and help themselves with
You’re always sacrificing something with killer load outs - and it’s not survivors because whoops you chose Franklin’s to stop the 4 item group but you’re still being gen rushed even with Ruin (which probably got found or destroyed before you even got to check on it.)
I agree survivors aren't the most balanced thing but the biggest issue with them now is the SWF aspect. Sure survivors as a whole get 16 perks among them but not every survivor is benefitting from every perk. On top of that, killer perks are often more versatile and have greater impact on the whole of a match. You're right to be frustrated at certain imbalances but this specific aspect really isn't the hill to die on dude.
-
Idk we've gotten some pretty solid killer perks in the last year.
-
Considering the requirements and limitations already placed on it, I don't think 5 seconds is a big deal at all. I've only gotten hit by it a few times since the update anyway
-
I've been playing it on PS4 lately actually. One of the first games in a while that made me legitimately scared.

Piss em off mate! Toss a side of NOED and be called various names at the end game chat that the devs don't care about!
I play console, so if I'm getting foul messages postgame I can report em to Sony. Insidious Leatherface is practically a ban machine.
-
At this point I'm just running Leatherface against Ash squads. Just to deny the use of MoM
-
Could be cause so many games were being played at once? Or the killers internet bugged out and kicked everyone.
-
I get that it's in character but really it's super out of place and frankly annoying when you get long lobby waits

unless you use infantry belt :D
Which is using 2 high tier add-ons for the sake of 3 otherwise unaltered hatchets. Still have the same weaknesses as usual as well as lacking any other effects besides insta down. Not saying they're weak obviously, but they're certainly not as broken as people make it out to be.

Lets see people who crete content like cosmetics and audio can somehow magically do code work for bug fixes how again? That's like asking someone in accounting why the electrical system hasn't been completely fixed yet.
Also get over yourself the perk isn't a crutch and the fact you claim it is shows you're just not as good as you think you are. The perk has conditions can be avoided by certain killers completely.
While I don't fully disagree, remember that the design team isn't the one responsible for perk balancing. Considering the myriad of bugs and balance issues with this game, I can understand being upset that we get a 17th survivor before even hearing anything really on some of the issues we've been waiting literal years for.
-
Before the BNP change I think I had a 3 minute game? Besides that I had about 4.5 minute game recently as plague.

@Master said:
@ClogWench why do I need to put effort into countering a perk?
Killers can simply counter DS by not tunneling or counter BT by not camping
So do you just want every killer perk with any amount of counter play removed? Let's get rid of BBQ, why do I need to get into a locker to counter a perk? Let's get rid of Ruin, why do I need to break a totem to counter a perk?
Like I get it, it's a strong perk and it sucks getting hit by it. But you had the opportunity to stop it and decided not to because God forbid you be expected to do more than the bare minimum.

Like twice. I usually avoid tunnelling, moreso lately than usual, meaning it's working as intended.
-
I don't think a direct buff to killers is the right direction to go in fixing the imbalance in this game.
-
I'd love some sort of a take on vampires. Not something cliche but a unique spin, the way Plague is a twist on the concept of a plague doctor.

I get killer lobbies fast but I was having hours worth of waiting all week for survivors

I do. I usually find one pallet, drop it, run elsewhere, then im screwed. I see other people keep running and dropping 4-5 in succession. How?
Don't throw it down immediately. Loop it as long as you can before dropping it. Take advantage of the time you spend looping it to look at your surroundings for more pallets or windows.

@ClogWench I do agree that they dont..But that doesn't stop them..And if they pip or not I have no idea...You know if you say they didn't they will say they did..I honestly dont even care about the pip itself..I just want the game to be fun again...The chases the jump scares and stuff like that..now Im just like oof Im getting tunneled or camped..yay me
My point is that unless survivors are giving the killer a reason to, you're less likely to encounter camping killers in red ranks cause you can't GET to red ranks doing that. So maybe assess why killers are doing that first.

Idk with this new matchmaking its been putting me with red ranks. So Im assuming that they know what they are doing..and know how to do it well they just dont want to. But like I said to each their own..Just trying to give some insight on why some people may dc..and im not talking about the ones that dc on the first down either.
With this new emblem update, if you hard camp that way you're not gonna rank up to red ranks.

That's fine you can stop right there...I kinda figured most killer mains would stop right there..Because they dont know how it feels to be on the other side of it..LOL
I mean its whatever do what you do..But Im just explaining as someone who plays 50/50.
Lol Be that person <3
The majority of killers have played survivor and know what it's like. In my experience, most of the ones who do that to that degree are killers who have little experience. Often times survivor mains playing killer for a daily, who aren't experienced enough to get a kill any other way.

I agree that there are some to dc over stupid little things..But I myself I pretty much have to be so mad to the point to where Im about to scream..And lately its almost every game lol. I took a month long break came back first 3 games I was tunneled then camped to death..took another break for about a week or two same thing..I mean I get how some people thats the only way to secure a kill..But I mean how is it NOT harassment if you are just targeting the same person the whole game until that person is dead? I mean to me thats harassment and Im sure to the word itself is the same thing..and dont get me started on the hitboxes that are freaking HUGE..the game is bugged and instead of fixing the bugs like that they are putting out new people and doing all this other stuff. I love the game probably will never fully be able to quit it..But right now its on my hate list lmao
I'm not saying it's not annoying, and it's definitely a cause, but I wouldn't say it's the leading cause. And like I said, it's not something that can be just removed.
-
Survivors will DC just because they dislike a certain killer or map. I get a lot who DC if they get downed first or if 2 people get hooked at the same time. It only takes the slightest provocation for a survivor to DC. Besides it's not like camping and tunneling can be removed fully.
