It really depends on how close to finished the match is. If I was tunneled to death with 1 gen done, no I'd rather be queued up for another round. If there's like 2 gens left or it's down to the last survivor I'll stick around.
-
Since I started as a killer main prior to not maining a side, it's never sat right with me to run that combo. Just because I know what it's like to face it and it's awful.
-
If the bonus was less I wouldn't mind it since it's just altruism it effects.
-
@ILoveDemo I'm just venting/ranting. As long as I already made an actual report, I don't have to show the general community my proof. It's for the devs to deal with.

I also agree with you, but my opinion is inaccurate?
I just meant the reasoning behind the opinion is inaccurate that the mmr will put the inexperienced up against gods. If they did improve the mmr system (and since they're just tests so far) nothing is final so that shouldn't happen.
-
Do I agree with you? Yes, but not for the reason you gave because that's inaccurate. I think there's too many factors that go into what makes the match and that goes for both sides. I don't think the developers are completely aware of how much we're actually talking in order to make this system as accurate as possible. Lemme explain.
For Survivors: Would generators completed be taken into account? Is how long you're on the generator be taken into account? Are you using a toolbox? Brand New Part? Are multiple people on the generator with you? Is Prove Thyself in effect? What about Spine Chill? Resilience? Did someone your with miss a skill check? Did you miss a skill check? Did the killer come over which stopped you from completing the gen? Were you pulled off? All those questions are just about time on generators (except the first one)
For Killers: Is chase time taken into account? Did the survivor have an exhaustion perk that extended the chase? Were pallets dropped? Did you have some level of stealth and the survivor didn't see you coming? Were they running No Mither? Did you win the chase? Did you have to switch targets due to an almost completed generator? Were you pallet stunned which caused the ability to break the pallet take longer? Was bloodlust gained at all? Is the killer you're playing have mindgame potential or a way to hit a survivor faster even if far away (Huntress, Deathslinger, Demo, Nurse, etc)? Were you using any insta downs? Did the survivor run any really strong loops? Those questions are all for chases.
See what I mean? Those questions are all for small parts of the game that in the end can effect your ability to finish generators faster or finish chases faster. Although some of those questions don't actually measure your skill, they still should be taken into account in order to accurately predict. I'm also not bringing into account "how long should it take for x amount of survivors to finish a gen" or "this is how long the perfect chase should take". Why? Because how are you supposed to measure that? You can't because there's too many variables.

Plz don't get them started. Save everyone who's even played killer recently the headache.

Or Huntress Lullaby was nerfed because Docs Skill Checks were the only thing affected by it aside from Healing and Reparing - no Jigsaw Boxes, no Cages, etc.
And not everyone is experienced in the game, if some Survivors who are quite new to the game go against a Doc, it is a huge difference between getting hard Skill Checks on Gens and Healing and getting hard Skill Checks during snapping out. The first is messing up the Objective, the second is, not getting to play.
OR you can just feed the narrative of "Devs are survivor-sided", if you dont want to follow logic.
In this instance they are survivor sided because what Doctor at the lower ranks is using Huntress Lullaby. I can guarantee not enough for it to be even close to a problem. I didn't even think of putting Huntress Lullaby on Doc until like Rank 7.
-
It's been 3 weeks since the PTB goes live since Deathslinger's ptb. This is nothing new whatsoever. Now if the update isn't here on Tuesday then this post is still pretty much true because then it would be like "Hey what happened devs"

They're probably prioritising Huntress and Demo due to their add-ons being their main problem, Huntress's Iri Head, lack of a second ultra rare add-on and exhaustion add-ons all need adjusted to be brought more in-line with other killers. In comparison, Demo's add-ons are rather lacklustre, with only a couple being of any real use.
Plague and Michael on the other hand are alright killers as is, they could probably use some add-on adjustments as well, however the thing about both of them is they both have the potential to obtain methods of attack that are already very strong in their current forms. Adjustments to either of them need to be done carefully as to not make their default abilities crazy strong.
That's true. All they're doing for Huntress is an add-on pass and for Demo is just number changes and an add-on pass. It's not like their actual powers are getting some massive change.
-
All in favor say "aye"
"AYE!"
-
They don't nerf the survivor perks because BHVR is mostly survivor mains. Hex: Huntress Lullaby was nerfed over survivor entitlement that the devs had.
-
Does she need reworking? Most definitely
Do I think the devs will do a patch for a Plague rework? No just because she has such a low pick rate.

Jigsaw sketch increases the timer duration, too. I rarely get RBT kills unless they just give up. I’ve only gotten two RBT kills once (oddly enough I was doing a sacrifice challenge. .. :(). It is a good add on, mostly because it increased the time wasted.
I don’t run tampered timer that much because I rarely see hats on for more than a minute anyway. I’d rather run combat straps or videotape. Even the blinding add on I find way more useful.
Actually that is not true. Only Jigsaw's Annotated Plan increases the timer duration. Jigsaw's Sketch says it only effects the amount of boxes on the map.
-
Keep that away from me. Thanks.
-
I'd say that he's a similar situation to Nurse just with m1 potential. He's a difficult killer to learn so as a reward for learning him you gain a strong killer.
-
The devs made it sound back in August like it's supposed to average your two mmrs. Not to mention that mmr does not take rank into account so if your friend is Rank 20 and is just amazing, then it won't matter, but if they are brand new and not good then you should be getting a very average player as the killer (not a potato but not a god).
-
If you need undying to do well you did a little thing called handicap yourself. The cure is STOP RELYING ON A PERK TO WIN. Thank you. We all have builds we love, but if you're seriously going to run a perk to the bitter end then leave then it shows you really only liked the perk never the role. Before someone bites my head off for this, it's just an opinion.

New chapter ptb probably will be delayed to 23 Feb or 2 March
Unless they plan to give us the chapter in April, the chapter ptb would probably be February 9th - February 16th or February 16th - February 23rd. My guess is it probably will be February 16th - 23rd just to give midchapter some time (even if just a week) before people are like "OMG LOOK AT WHAT CHAPTER 19 IS!" That would put Chapter 19 set to release March 9th which is still early-mid March which isn't bad. Personally I think this midchapter FEELS like it's taking forever because we literally got Chapter 18 December 1st. Not to mention if you look at the months the devs set stuff to release, in terms of when during those months chapters release between the December and March chapters is generally the longest time period because they release at like the very beginning of December and then release again in like mid March which is more than 3 months.
-
I hope it's on the 2nd, seriously midchapter should have gone live on January 12th, if it wanted to be (roughly) a MID chapter update. Seriously this is more like a 3/4s chapter update. At this point I wouldn't be surprised if it went live then that friday they were like "PTB for Chapter 19 is going live on tuesday!"
-
If I know I'm going to lose I just stop, turn off the tv so I don't have to watch the survivors be idiots trying to get my attention, and do something else.

It's a bit odd Myers doesn't have custom lobby music, as I'm pretty sure there is a custom tune when you view him in the Store.
Like they do the Halloween jingle when you select him but after like 5 seconds it goes back to normal lobby music so it doesn't even count really. It's not consistent for the entire time he's on your lobby screen.
-
I never use Ruin/Undying and I never need to camp unless the survivors are like 4 person swf 1 gen left and no one is dead on hook, but that's kinda expected out of a killer. I think the streamer you watched is wrong on that one. Ruin/Undying is not needed at all to do well and not need to camp.

I think you unintentionally bring up a good point.
Genuine question, what makes killers complaints about perks valid but survivors complaints about perks invalid?
They're all valid honestly, but entitled killers will act like survivor complaints aren't valid and entitled survivors will act like killer complaints aren't valid. I think the problem though with comparing the DS/UB argument to the Ruin/Undying argument is that the counter to DS/UB is giving into either DS or UB but Ruin/Undying is just cleansing totems which (regardless of whether or not survivors want to admit it or not) is a side objective to survivors. Although not necessary to complete the trial and escape, it needs to get done if something is in the way such as the fear of NOED or Undying.
-
It does kinda depend. Like @NuKeD said, they generally release 3 weeks after the start of the PTB and there is the rumor going around that it was set back from February 2nd to February 9th. (So the tome would be February 3rd to February 10th) We won't know though until tuesday if that's true or not because they don't generally tell us that info we just know the pattern.

I don't think any perks are op so I'm going to answer this as what's the most annoying
Survivor - Decisive
Killer - mmmmmmmmm, probablyyyyyyyy, between new Ruin and Dying Light (you'll never guess what combo I use as killer)
-
Honestly, people can do whatever they want. If they feel cleansing totems is useless after the hex breaks (if there was one), that's on them. It's only a problem when people know NOED is a real possibility and then complain about how they don't want to do totems and the devs should nerf NOED on the forums. Just because it's not going to happen if you're aren't willing to even try and counter the perk. Personally, I go by the rule of "If you aren't in danger and you see a totem, cleanse it". Generally I still get about 2-3 gens done and cleanse 2-3 totems a match so I'm not worried about NOED unless literally everyone else did nothing but gens and hide all game or we just can't find the last totem.

Well, The hope is that this increased score will lead to people learning to do gens instead of unsafe unhook.
Obviously that would be the hope, but some people are still greedy for altruism so they'll be like "Oh great so they can get altruism but I can't?" So personally I don't think it would help but I think it might keep people from killing themselves while being facecamped.
-
Most killers don't care about how many bloodpoints survivors get, if killers did care they wouldn't face camp. Second, I think just having a different score event that's also called distraction that's worth more would work better than the normal distraction score event. Most killers that face camp will also face camp regardless because they know that some survivors are not smart enough to just do the gens.

Funnily enough while DS ultra rare is trash...there are still many ones even worse or at least just as bad. Honestly I would probably even say the majority of ultra rares in the game are bad. Most of them range from "memey" to just trash.
Well 10m is actually still pretty dang close, that would be working enough that survivors would still think it's op.
I actually prefer the change of keeping it a 1 shot but she can't have more than 1 hatchet even through addons. Now it can be strong if you are good enough but would actually be much worse if they aren't a good Huntress. Risk and reward here with reward favoring skilled players.
What I meant is the Deathslingers was the worst insta down ultra rare add-on

Unless I read it wrong and all my friends read it wrong, it's true.
-
I find it funny that people use that and then will probably yell at BHVR when Power Struggle no longer works with flip flop because it's on the list of known issues for the Chapter 18 patch notes. You're supposed to wiggle in order to use it. But good for you, make use for it until it gets patched if ever.

If it was only long range hits it would be garbage.
They don't have to make it as far as Deathslinger's though. Let's face it, out of all the insta down add-ons, Deathslinger has probably the [bad word] one. They could still put a distance requirement but make it more doable. Let's say, 10 meters. Is that doable would you say? Survivors 10 meters or more away get insta downed. That way you can't ride a survivors [bad word] and get the insta down but it's still close enough that you can aim.
-
@Blueberry said:

I suppose the issue with Huntresses addon is that you can stack it with another addon to remove its negative essentially, whereas all the other killers are more balanced around their insta down or their insta down addon is trash/has an unnegatable very heavy penalty attached to it.
IE most killers insta down addons don't really make them strong, Huntresses makes her very strong. If they just made it so you couldn't negate the hatchet reduction so you could only use 1 hatchet with it, it would be pretty balanced in my opinion.
Personally I think the answer isn't replace the insta down with something like people believe they should. I think they need to make it more like Deathslinger where the add-on rewards you for being able to snipe so it doesn't effect close range hits.
-
When ever they do the graphical update for Haddonfield you know they're also going to rework it. I know what house you're talking about and I've seen up to 5 windows open on it at a time.

It's not great how powerful he is but I'm a switch player so seeing Freddy now is like the best thing on the planet and I love every second of it.

@Blueberry said:
I'm confused by this topic. I've never seen anyone recommend removing insta downs other than Huntress's addon. You're implying there's some vocal group wanting insta downs in general removed?
No I'm trying to use the fact that there's so many other insta downs so to say "Huntress has it get rid of it" is literally stupid. I get the reasoning behind why it's wanted, but when they announced Huntress' add-on pass everyone started celebrating that Iri Head was no longer going to be an insta down when they never said that. I'm trying to show that there are plenty of other insta downs and they're still making them.

it a waste of a perk except for people not trying to win the game and deliberately trolling
nurses calling, bbq, infectious fright and discordance all significantly better... not enough perks to go around with only 4 slots
But you're complaining about something that Whispers counters. so stop complaining if you're not going to deal with a counter. none of the perks that you listed helps with hiding survivors. especially if locker hopping.

You assume to much competence of the devs, this is the same collection of folks who allowed team play in a game where it breaks everything,
Then I guess that would be a question for the next Q&A, if Huntress' Iri Head gained a distance restriction would it keep the hatchet restriction. Since we know that she's getting an add-on pass and if we were talking theoretically, they could answer that.

not if 2 of them hide as long as possible on a huge map
Whispers will forever be your friend. It's a good perk for tracking, which helps the killer tremendously.

Do you know which platform has the most players?
I'm not entirely sure, but would anyone argue tho that Nintendo Switch has one of the smallest player bases by platform.
-
@WishIcouldmain said:
Well it technically makes sense for the devs to make the survivor experience more pleasent since when there is one killer playing there's four survivors playing. They have to realize there's no survivors without the killer so they should make both sides equal.
I couldn't agree more with this. They need to be treating both as equals, not as "oh more play this role therefor we neglect the other role" and honestly the same can be said about the platforms. The devs tend to neglect the platforms that have a lower playerbase. Take Switch for example. It's the MOST EXPENSIVE platform and it's neglected by the devs and their bugs aren't taken into consideration by either a mod or dev until a steam player reports it. (Elodie's screams was reported as a Switch bug the day Binding of Kin was released, I didn't see one dev/mod respond to that bug until a steam player reported it like 2-3 weeks later)

I would say that if the killer gets bonus bloodpoints for killing their obsession that would kinda support tunnelling which they dont wanna do.
Most obsession perks, if you have them and many do, you're not going to want to tunnel your obsession.

I'm hoping it won't just be 1 hatchet capacity anymore
Something tells me if they keep a hatchet amount of restriction with distance you're going to have like 3 or 4 by default. There would be no reason to keep that if you have to snipe to get iri head to work.

It would take a lot of add-on, perk, and even power reworks to remove instadowns forever. Therefore, they most certainly are not going to remove them entirely from the game.
But I will say due to popular demand, Huntress might get hers taken away. The ONLY thing I think they might do to keep her instadown is her having to hit someone with her hatchet from a certain distance apart for it to work, similar to Deathslingers Iri Coin add-on.
I forget which dev said it but on a stream a dev said that they're changing her add-on to do exactly that. You need to hit someone from x amount of distance away.
-
Let's face it, people on the forums like to over exaggerate to make everything that they don't like sound game breaking. It's what killers do with swf groups, which in turn makes solo queue sound like a miserable experience when it's honestly not that bad.
