how is MMR working...?

so lets say im at very high MMR .. lets say im a god survivor (im not xd just an example)

and i play with my friend who is rank 20 in the MMR (very bad)

will we get a god killer, a potatoe killer or will it be the averrage mmr from all survivors?

  • Right now you would get a potatoe killer.

Because the game tries to balance around the lowest rank.

BUT nobody knows how it will work with the new MMR.

    EDIT:

There is also the problem, that right now, the matchmaking is kinda crazy. As it throws all kind of players together.

  • The devs made it sound back in August like it's supposed to average your two mmrs. Not to mention that mmr does not take rank into account so if your friend is Rank 20 and is just amazing, then it won't matter, but if they are brand new and not good then you should be getting a very average player as the killer (not a potato but not a god).

  • Actually they tried to make the current rank system matching around the highest rank of an SWF. It just doesn’t work as it’s supposed to.. it’s definitely not searching with the lowest rank in mind - at least not purposefully.

for MMR I guess it’s either the average, the maximum or something in between. They know they shouldn’t matched for the lowest skillrate of an SWF.

    It doesn't even metter.

It would "increase the searching range" to give you a shorter waiting time anyway.

You might ask that "if that so what is the purpose of mmr?"

To let players can't see is the matching is fair or not of course.

  • Shhh. It's a secret.

They removed that ages ago cuz queue times for red ranked survivors and low ranked killers sky rocketed. Too many survivors were pulled into red rank matches. Then it would eventually search for lower ranked killers anyways. It's average survivor rank now.

  • Before the MMR is released I am sure we'll be able to release more information and explain in greater detail how it's going to work.

Not always. For me, around half my lobbys are all red ranks, the other half can have literally anything. Just recently I´ve had a rank 18, a literal rank 20 and two rank 1s. It seems anything goes, propably because of the crazy Survivor qeue times past noon.

Well yes, i think, that after a certain time, the matchmaking just takes what it gets. It might even ignore the region, just to get quicker matches.
