Did they announced ring killer power will be phasing or something?
No, people are making up scenarios of something that isn't even in the slightest confirmed.
I've personally never thought for a second that whatever Ringu killer they chose would be close to spirit. I always assumed they've have a curse-like power or something dealing with tv/well or possibly even combine the cursing and tv/well.

Yes and no. It depends on what perks I'm running. Most of the times, no.

No, imo boons are fine as is. I hope they add some speed & gen one's next.
I think they've actually said they will never add gen related boons, but I could either be misremembering or could turn out to be false. If they do add generator boons there will definitely need to be changes made to boons as a mechanic.

MMR is an example of "It sounded like a good idea until it was tested."
After it was tested a lot of people realized that it wasn't healthy and started asking the devs not to continue working on mmr, but the devs didn't listen.
-
It really does depend on what everyone's role in the trial was. If I'm the only one who really did anything otherwise they would have lost, then yes it's a lost. If everyone tried and it was an "it's either you or me" kind of situation for who dies, I'd take the fall so everyone else can get out and I'd consider that a win.

Yeah, gotta love when you turn and look 180 degrees away from where the flashlight is, then a full second later still get blinded. If Dead Hard is getting validated on the survivor side, flashlights should be validated on the killer's side, because it's a serious setback in progress when you correctly avoided it.
No they can't do that, that would be killer friendly, we can't have that.

Neither if paired with Rule Set No. 2 and make a build around it. I've gotten a 3k using it and the only reason a survivor got out is because I didn't care enough to kill them so they got the door after I closed hatch.

Hmmmm, I'm not sure what the actual status on the funko pops is. However, I doubt the devs would announce funko pops were coming if there wasn't already an agreement in place. I'd think the pandemic is slowing down production and doubt the new strain is helping with that. I guess what I'm saying is be patient and they'll be here eventually. They'll probably give an announcement once they're in stores.

This is a very good point
If we're getting anymore outfits or legendary skins, they'll be from those games.
As far as legendary skins are concerned, I could see us getting Carlos or Ada most likely, not sure about killer since Nemesis... the options really aren't there

There's actually enough time that you could do just 1 level a day and complete it.
69 levels to complete (for a total of 70 since you get Level 1 for free)
and there's roughly 70 days if not more to complete the tome

No that's not a bug.
When Sacrificial Ward is played it only cancels out the offering. That does not mean you can't go to the realm offered. You can go to the offered realm by random chance.

As killer: Survivors who hide all game then tbag at the hatch (specifically) and then talk in endgame chat like they're the best player in the world and how I have no skill
As survivor: the grind and how it never feels like I get any bloodpoints during the round

It isn't specified how the kill needs to happen to raise mmr, all we know is that you need to kill. Does slugging count? Who knows.
-
Yes when a killer tunnels and camps me now I still get upset. However, because I also play so much killer and know what it's like from that end right now, I'm more accepting and understanding of why they feel the need to do that. It doesn't stop me from getting mad though.
-
They still haven't given it to the one console they did promise, so yet what @tippy2k2 said, don't hold your breath. It probably won't happen.

Eh. I don’t think we should trust these kind of patterns. Ringu only featuring a killer was a possibility but with the info from the interview we know it will come with a survivor. That’s pretty much it..
especially with licensed chapters they don’t have full control on it..
Although I did mostly tie it to why I think Ringu will have a killer and survivor, I also just wanted to share what I saw about chapter releases. However now that you say it, I can see the thought process. I still think it will come with a survivor and I never thought otherwise. I'm the type of person to really think "Chapters will have at least one killer and at least one survivor until told otherwise." Since I started playing the game, we've only been "told otherwise," as I put it, once. Since Mikaela was technically a Paragraph, they just for whatever reason refuse to use that word now and just call them Chapter x.5, but they're paragraphs lets face it.
-
From what I understand, it's not a thing because of legal reasons so they'd have to pay for them (like @JPLongstreet said).
Also, I think an added reason why it's not a thing is because they don't want console players leaving the match because they see a steam/epic games/stadia (is stadia a pc platform?) player. So it's partially that too in my opinion.
Like I usually play on switch, if I see someone and it shows they're on one of the pc platforms, I'd be tempted to leave the match just for the fps difference alone.

That's also not true.
They deleted all of that data and started fresh not long before MMR went live, iirc.
Also, I disproved that. I bought Freddy and took him into a game after I had played a Nemesis game, someone who I have become very very good with. My Nemesis game was against a pretty good SWF, definitely above average, even from what I usually play against.
Level 1 Freddy, no perks, haven't even opened the BloodWeb and I got matched with the exact same team.
There is no individual Killer MMR, and if there is, it is next to meaningless.
I can prove the same thing but a bit backwards
On pc I played a round as ghost face and it was definitely a challenging match with the same idea
I switch to nurse to try her adept and it's just flashlights and meta. I play her for about 2 days until the matches are getting easier as her.
Then I switch back to Ghost Face, who should still be against teams that are a bit challenging since that's where I left off right?
Wrong, easiest time I've ever had with mmr.
The idea of individual killer mmr is an illusion and I'd like them to bring it back. At least that semi worked.

"from the original story" meaning not The Ring that we all know and love
There's a 99.9% chance the characters are going to be from the actual book or the original movie adaptation. That means it will be Sadako, it can't be Samara.

@ShinobuSK said:
Why are they announcing new chapter so soon?
Honestly that's such a good question. This isn't like what happened with Resident Evil where they wanted to announce it on their anniversary stream. So what's the reason for this one being so far away from the ptb?
-
I honestly love that

For those whom don't understand
Hillbilly was an OG Killer... whose inspiration was Leatherface AKA Bubba
But then BHVR got the Texas Chainsaw Massacre License... and introduced Leatherface AKA Bubba
Is the same thing as Spirit being inspired by The Ring
And now BHVR might/will be introducing her (The Ring woman) as the next killer
Am I right or am I wrong @TheGannMan?
I think it's possible for being inspiried by something without being a replica. Bubba is basically a replica of Billy. I don't think Samara (or Sadako in the case of Ringu) is as cut and paste for Spirit as Billy was for Bubba if Spirit was based on The Ring.
-
Was it ever confirmed she was based on Samara? Like I'm generally asking, I don't know.
If she wasn't, I'd think they wouldn't touch her. Also Samara has so much more that she can go off than just phasing around the map.
-
From what we know, the only reason dbd was ever slightly involved with nfts was because Park Avenue wanted it in the deal otherwise they weren't getting the license. So chances are there won't be anymore nfts unless another license holder demands of it.

Maybe we won’t even have to wait that long.
Resident Evil was teased in a New Years message from the devs (or was it directly from Cote?)
Yeah it was teased in the New Years message and then officially teased like a week after Trickster released.

@Mooks said:
Actually this gives me hopes(/fear) for the anniversary to be an even bigger license
I was honestly thinking something similar. They've been getting bigger and bigger with their anniversary chapters every year. What's the chapter going to be that's going to outshine a licensed chapter like Ringu? I've been thinking like Alien or Predator or Pennywise, but we'll have to wait to see in about roughly 6 months.
-
No. They would have brought in licenses regardless of if killers are playing or not.
However I do agree mmr needs to go. It only kinda works in balanced games and, as we know, this game is FAR from balanced. Not taking into account killer powers and perks vs survivor items and perks, the maps alone show how unbalanced this game is.
-
Well we can automatically rule out that this license will have a map. They said only 2 maps during the 2021-2022 year with one of those being RPD, then we just got Eyrie of Crows. So the next time we'll get a new map at earliest is the anniversary.

Not a twins main but good god they need some major help.

We're probably gonna get a Dev update pretty soon, I could be mistaken but I believe we should get a PTB either next week or the week after.
Maybe it's just my imagination, but I think they usually wait until after the new year for ptb. I've noticed that between the winter and spring chapter is generally a little longer (not by much though) than other chapter releases and the midchapter is a tad late, generally releases to live servers late January or early February.

And now everyone pretends again that playing Killer is super-hard and Killers only get oppressed and "bullied". Oh my...
It is since forever that queue times depend on the time of the day. For me, over the day, Killer Queues take long (starting with the longest at the start of the day, and getting faster over the day and end up on instant/under 30 seconds in the evening), while Survivor starts instant and takes longer, just to end up at around 3-4 minutes in the evening. It is basically a gradual change.
But I am EU and I dont experience Survivor Queues of more than 5 minutes most of the time and I never experienced Survivors Queues of 20 Minutes.
But in the evening, you have less players playing Killer and more players playing Survivor, and I guess, it is because of SWF. More people have time in the evening and if you want to play with friends, you play Survivor. E.g. I play Killer over the day. When my friend starts playing in the evening, I switch to Survivor.
This means: 1 less player in the Killer Pool, but two more players in the Survivor Pool. And this will happen thousands of times, causing queue times to shift over time.
Personally for me, and I'm in NA on the west cost, it doesn't matter what time of the day it is. Killer times are at a maximum of 30 seconds and survivor times are a minimum of 1 minute. I think people are overexaggerating killer at the moment, but I do still think it's pretty bad.

With how often killers camp and tunnel it's perfect the way it is, until they find a way to properly punish those two things BT does it's job well, especially when they have a Mori and get obsessed with a player they hooked and won't chase anybody else. Don't know if it's just my luck but happens pretty often in my matches.
In those cases it's fine, but that has nothing to do with what I'm talking about. The times I'm talking about, the killer is not camping, actually it's better to say they aren't even given time to get away, or the survivors run the killer back towards the hook, get smacked, unhook, and then the survivor with BT body blocks. Both of those happen way too often for BT to stay as is. If survivors would use the perk correctly, like in the examples you're giving, I wouldn't call for a BT nerf. It would be working as intended and isn't punishing for noncamping/tunneling killers. However, that's not the reality of how people usually use BT. That's the experience I usually have and I know others have.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/299910/bt-should-be-nerfed-heres-why
BT, DS, DH, Prove and other broken perks they could be nerfed simply by limiting their use to a maximum of one per team 🤷♂️
DS isn't a problem anymore unless the survivor goes out of their way to do absolutely nothing. Dead Hard I think is fairly fine, I'd just like them to fix the hit validation part of it where it looks and sounds like a survivor went down but they didn't. Prove Thyself if they did anything to I'd say make the repair speed slightly less faster, but other than that (if they had to do anything), I'd say it's perfectly fine. Borrowed Time is the only one that feels not fine. If survivors would use it correctly and only against killers who are actually camping and tunneling and not trying to be offensive with it, I wouldn't think it needs nerfing. However, they don't do that so....

Sorry but it's not a legit strategy when the killer only gets 1k with 2 hooks (at best). That isn't playing the game, it is idling at the hook. They might as well be afk at that point.
A real strategy would suggest the killer wants to win (I.E. PLAY THE GAME). The game isn't downing your first survivor and then standing still for the remainder. That isn't Dead by Daylight.
Talking specifically about facecamping I believe you're right, but the scenarios I'm talking about aren't facecamping at all.

Here we are going in circles. You are right: bodyblocking a camping killer certainly feels good and is the right thing to do, but once learned you will employ this tactic against every killer who comes back and tries to defend the hook, or when a teammate tries a super unsave cheeky unhooking right in the killers face. And here the killer gets punished for doing nothing wrong, nor can the survivors be criticized for employing a technique that works. So we are looking for a solution that shuts down the offensive use of BT, that mostly punishes good, non-camping Killers, while leaving its core intact, ie shutting down tunneling.
Kind of scrapping my original idea for a nerf but what if Borrowed Time worked so that if you unhook within the first, say, 3 seconds that the survivor was hooked then borrowed time doesn't activate. I feel like that would shut down the "follow the killer and unhook in front of their face before they have time to leave and get an easy bt off" tactic. I was also going to suggest for them to change the protection hit distance from 10 meters to maybe 4 meters and then also add in my original idea of protection hits shut off bt, however on top of that first change I just listed maybe that's too much. That would also take away the bodyblocking offensive strategy if they were both implemented though.
I want to try coming up with an idea that is a suitable nerf that doesn't also gut the perk. So maybe if my original idea doesn't work then maybe if they made those changes to protection hits then went with either of those suggestions it would work. My original suggestion would work if they decreased the range of a protection hit.

Taking tiers into account, there's 303 survivor perks and 270 killer perks. I beg the devs to bring us down to 101 survivor perks and 90 killer perks. I'm pretty sure there's more survivor and killer perks without the tiers than there were survivor and killer perks with tiers back in 2016. Just remove them and things will be better. I know they'll say something like "It makes the work players did prior to that change seem meaningless and unfulfilling if we make that change," but at this point I'd stop thinking about veteran players and start thinking about new players.
-
They can bug out sometimes or hit validation just wasn't on your side for that one. It's happened to me too where it looks like I'm fully in the snowman on my side yet I still take damage (whether healthy to injured or injured to downed).
-
I feel bad for agreeing to this, but you're not necessarily supposed to leave if you're readying up. At least not go far. If you get in a round against me and you're afk, sorry but you kind of got what was coming to you for leaving. Only exception will be if I'm playing Myers, then I'll feed my stalk off you and leave you be.
