I thought you were going to talk about her perk. . .

I don't mind the laugh. I'd prefer if it would happen with an action, say, landing a hatchet.

I wouldn't say the laugh makes her evil, at least in her mind. She's a hunter. People are her prey. Laugh probably comes off as a feeling of accomplishment.

I actually had trouble thinking a title cuz of this, there's a perk and there's a passive, both with the same name :D

At the end of the day I couldn't be bothered

Sole Survivor + Left Behind + Unbreakable + Head On

    A. Killer thinks I have DS, therefore allowing me to use Unbreakable as I please.

    B. Helps me when potato teammates die tragically early on

    C. Head On for those obsession locker shenanigans.

Said a perk not all perks xd

Fair points, I agree that it is plausible the devs didn't intend for the skill check chance to be a buff. Thanks for discussing!

I would also change the name of this forum to deserve instead of needs :^)

I always talk about Spine Chill and Dead Hard so today I'll discuss one of my other "keeper" perks. BT. I know, I know, "Waffle, isn't BT an abusable crutch that encourages farming?" Yes, but that's not why I bring it. I like playing altruistic, running perks like Empathy with a flashlight or running WMI or BK with a medkit. I bring BT to save my teammates from campers, because you can't be altruistic without your teammates. It's pretty handy in end game for securing one for ones too, which is definitely something I like. I hate leaving teammates behind, so I hardly ever queue up without BT.

I would love to swf with you :)

You sound a little biased. What I mainly aim for with this change is consistency between skill check focused perks. Buffing Stake Out but not Spine Chill seems like a missed opportunity. Besides, why would you be against an Autodidact buff?

If this goes live, the healing speed will also be affected which is a bit too much. Just because spine chill relates slightly to skillchecks, it doesn't mean it should be buffed. Let me demonstrate:

The reason you want the buff is because it's skillcheck relatable right? (With gens). Let's go what spine chill does:

    1. Gives you information
    2. Raises skillcheck chances
    3. You repair faster
    4. You heal faster
    5. You vault faster
    6. Sabotage faster
    7. Search chests faster
    8. Cleanse bones faster
    9. Open gates faster

Now imagine all of these will a 20% skillcheck chance and congrats you made the next op meta perk :)

    See what I mean?

  • IMG_20200409_132825_228.jpg

It shouldn't be buffed. As a spine chill maniac, I know that this isn't the reason to bring spine chill. You bring spine chill so when the killer is looking at your direction, spine chill activates and says: "get the FK out of there!". Also, why double it? Either way the skillcheck nerf didn't hit spine chill that hard, since it remains an S++++++++ tier perk.

Edit: being instead of bring, thanks a lot autocorrect :^)

    @CLAUDETTEINABUSH

Against stealth killers, it's still not as strong as Spine Chill, but a person running Bond should be aware that the Killer is in the area. You can generally pick up on chases happening even if they're right at the edge of range, so you won't get caught off guard if the Killer switches targets. Stealth or not.

Yes but this requires to have good gamesense. I'll make a scenario for you:

You hear trappers terror radius and no one is around, you know that cuz of bond. You're in killer shack on coldwin, what do you do?

If you decide to run, good job you tried to run away from a trapper that just wanted to set a trap. If you had spine chill you would know that because he wouldn't be looking your way.

    Get my point?

  • It's not uncommon for me to get tunneled and morid out of first hook, but it's not uncommon to completely dominate the killer. I'm a head on gamer, and killers don't like that, so I usually get either tunneled or camped. But on the right games where the killer is somewhat respectful, I usually dominate and escape easily. If I had a chart, it's 50/50 if I escape. I had days where I died 13 times in a row, but saved my teammates. And there were days that I escaped 9 times through the hatch because all survivors killed themselves on first hook.

So, in conclusion, who cares?! The point isn't to survive but to have fun. I can have fun and technically lose but I won't mind

  • Not at all. With spine chill you know that the killer is heading your way, stealthy or not. It's use is to prepare you sooner for their approach. Bond gives you info on were your teammates are. Yes if you hear a terror radius and you see no one with bond, he's probably coming for dat ash. BUT, if it's a stealth killer you won't see it coming. Just because it gives you slight info, it doesn't mean that it's spine chill 2.0. With empathy you know where the killer is exactly because you can see where your teammates got injured, does that mean it's spine chill? There are perks like OoO and dark sense which literally give you info on where the killer is, are those spine chill?

I disagree with you. I think spine chill is similar to permenition and bond is similar to empathy. Because bond and spine chill SOMETIMES do the same job, it doesn't mean they are similar. Personally I can't play without spine chill, I feel blind without it, and bond also helps with my somewhat blindness of knowing to which loops I MUSTN'T run cuz there is a survivor there doing an important gen.

    See what I mean?

I like the constantly limited to 1 idea, since the only reason people dont like iri head is because of the 3 hatchets. But I heard a different idea, which I like even more:

    Rebounding hatchets.

Imagine, you miss a survivor, hit a wall, and it bounces back to hit them. Imagine how cool that'd be. A technical nightmare, but it's be so cool and now she can legitimately hit people around corners (thanks servers).

Imagine how much programming and bug fixes it has to go through. No pls no XD.

Personally I believe iri head should remain a oneshot.

Yeah, NED is a bit of a joke between me & some friends, and then to keep consistency with a previous post on the forms I thought I might as well keep it going.

"Some people say it rewards bad killers, but I think it's incredibly incorrect. This is a second chance perk, a high risk but high reward machine. I think that a lot of people justify the high reward cuz the only counter is to do da bones, which is wildly incorrect. If you are getting highly pressured by the killer, you can't do totems. Other people say it's simply op, again incorrect because it informs you that there is a hex out there which causes all this mess."

I believe it rewards bad killers because the speed boost and insta-down combined is rather oppresive, and during endgame the killer suddenly moving at 119% speed whist removing a health state can be pretty cheap to a lot of people. I believe this because of my own experience- I used to play awfully and rely on it as a crutch in endgame (This was back when Victory Cube was around). Only when I realised this and tried to change did I realise how bad that perk really is for game health (same with adrenaline imo).

The totem counter, yes, definitely, 1000000000%, that's the best idea there is to help with this. After that, we wouldn't need to change the perk since the excuse of "Just do bones" suddenly becomes infinitely more valid.

"A. You're getting notified when you're exposed (like rancor, when the last gen is done the exposed status effect is immediately revealed) or B. expose the aura of noed. That way, people know you have noed and they can instead search for it, so the risk is much higher, but the reward is dependent on your skill."

I like option A, but it being as it is now is the same as with Devour Hope- you're not shown as exposed until you'd usually know it. So I'd rather we keep that one as-is. Option B just kinda removes all issues with NED right now, so I'm not really the biggest fan.

Overall, I'd say just go for the totem counter. It's easier to implement, doesn't affect swf at all, and makes solo survivor a whole lot more bearable.

I remember the old days without the speedboost :)

How about this? It can also be only activated when 5 gens are done (like rancor, can't be activated when the hatch is closed) a nice addition isn't it? Lastly it doesn't reward bad killers, instead it's more of a backup plan. Kinda second chance, yes. But imagine this much hate to every "clutch" survivor perk that "rewards bad players", dead hard rewards you for being injured, ds rewards you for being picked up really fast, unbreakable rewards you for being downed, ect. The perks are fine, some smoll additions won't hurt tho.

  • @Xzan said:

Change it to "Every X seconds you get 1 Hatchet back".

I actually thought about that, for the 2nd red add-on :)

  • @not_Queef said:

Reduce hatchets by 6, so you need Infantry Belt just to have one. Insta down only works from 100 metres away.

    👍️

Please tell me if you think iri head is balanced or tell me how you would rework it, since you obviously don't like my ideas.

  • In my opinion, noed or NED as you love to say it, is one of the most weird perks in the game. It's a hex, but not straight away. Some people say it rewards bad killers, but I think it's incredibly incorrect. This is a second chance perk, a high risk but high reward machine. I think that a lot of people justify the high reward cuz the only counter is to do da bones, which is wildly incorrect. If you are getting highly pressured by the killer, you can't do totems. Other people say it's simply op, again incorrect because it informs you that there is a hex out there which causes all this mess.

How would I change ned? Well, I suggest the totem counter alongside with a small change to the perk.

Either A. You're getting notified when you're exposed (like rancor, when the last gen is done the exposed status effect is immediately revealed) or B. expose the aura of noed. That way, people know you have noed and they can instead search for it, so the risk is much higher, but the reward is dependent on your skill.

    What do you think? :3

Edit: autocorrect problems, apparently when I write gen I mean ten, gotchu hommie

Actually, it takes a few hours for a developer to put in a menu option that changes a boolean to true/false in unreal (Unless you have spaghetti code).

This is MUCH different from a balance issue, it’s an issue that keeps everyone with motion sickness or anything of the sort from playing the game (killer side more, but it’s first person so oh well).

It actually isn't what you're saying, because the adjust system doesn't exist. With a few words they would need to make it able to adjust the game stats and then create the menu system. I could be wrong tho, dunno, I don't have much experience xd.

But the point still stands, it's tough doing 3000 things simultaneously, so just wait

  • You're either hacking irl or you're the devil it's impossible!!!! Bhvr omg ban this guy irl and throw em into the 4th dimensions in order to be punished omg!!!

  • Another impatient person, isn't it?

You guys want everything to be added, nurfed and buffed but you can't understand there's a list. The devs can't just add things up like that. Also, have you tried making everything you listed? From the small experience I have with coding I can tell you that you don't press one button and you're finished. I would speculate it would take em, for everything you listed, at least 1 month of work or more, and since they are working from home I would speculate 2 months.

Since you love to complain do them yourself, now that you obviously have free time.

  • Impossible. You can't have fun in dbd!

The entity allows the key to open the hatch after the killer has closed it.

Regarding your #3d point. As a solo queue survivor with over 1,800 hours in the game, i can say that the situation regarding the doors being too close and me being the last survivor has come up in probably 15-20% of my matches. An additional 2 seconds on the door from an item is the difference between escape and an easy kill for the killer.

Fun fact the entity didn't make the trapdoor so technically she doesn't want it but can't remove it. But still, in order for the item to be used you need to find hatch or have add-ons. The keys have aura read, the maps have object aura reads, the medkits heal, the toolboxes complete the objective faster, the flashlights and the firecrackers are used to stun the killer. You don't need anything more or less. All of the items have use even if the gens aren't done with a few exceptions (medkits against plague are almost impossible to be used, no mither and the broken status effect)

  • Been suggested a lot in the forums at the past and my opinion stays the same.

The entity doesn't want to make survivor's trials really easy or hard, so it gives em the necessary. Imagine the survivors being a poor person and the entity a wealthy person, the entity will give them a fork and some soup, they don't want to make it easy, but not impossible.

Now gameplay wise, I believe that simply it shouldn't exist because:

1st, add-ons? Toolboxes have charges and speed, an item that opens doors faster wouldn't have great add-ons.

2nd, too situational. You actually need to either finish 5 gens or the hatch to be closed in order to be viable, too situational to be added.

3d, it's not necessary. Survivors have plenty of items they don't need another one.

All of this are my opinion, feel free to argue :3

  • Maybe yes, the killer is obsessed with you so I feel that they should have something different, like dark symbols on the edges of their screen for example.

  • Just ignore or find the player that isn't in a locker. It's simple, you see 2 players hop in 2 lockers, obviously swf. Ignore em and don't give them the satisfaction to have fun. They will be forced to do gens or follow you around which is just as disappointing for them as to do gens.

  • IMG_20200409_132825_228.jpg

I'll demonstrate: it's a feature. The killer is allowed to camp and shouldn't be bannable. It's like asking to ban teabagging. Because some people think it's toxic (which is not since it's a strategy) that doesn't mean that should be banned.

Btw I know that you don't want camping to be banned, I just specify my reasoning.

Also a flamethrower would be a great idea xd

  • Good idea but I doubt it. The lullaby was her favorite song, and the last song that she heard from her mother. I really doubt that she is also smart enough to protect herself since she was left alone on the forest having to rely on her skills and instincts. Her job was rather simple, kill for sport and food, nothing more or less.

But I liked the idea :)

  • Frank is the main character, the archives should specify him imo

  • They specifically said they don't want a casual mode since it's not useful nor necessary.

  • That would also make the game a bit more competitive and people that play casually won't be able to have fun with some perks. I myself am a head on gamer and just imagine my immeasurable disappointment if I'm not allowed able to use it.

  • @Peanits said:

Right, except it without a doubt does. The numbers have been changed such that they are slower than before. Assuming you're crunching the numbers correctly, there is not a single instance where a generator will be done faster than before.

Since there isn't a change to the number of working separately it doesn't matter 😏

Jk it's a huge change everyone just complains even tho they haven't played ptb. If they did TRUST ME this discussion wouldn't exist

  • Corrupt for me. It's like old ruin, it slows the game down A LOT. If I don't have it on my build then I expect to lose 2-3 gen in a chase.

  • A nurse's calling. Simply the most useful perk that's not in the meta. I love it on spirit because I can pretend going for someone and immediately phase to the injured Claudette that self-cares in a pallet like she has the reflexes to throw a pallet to an invisible god.

  • Nothing is toxic if it is a feature. The only thing I find toxic is flaming in chat, that's all :D

So even if you did all that you mentioned it's still technically not toxic :D

  • @GrannyonAcid said:

Bro. If you're that worried about someone escaping on you.... There's a problem. If the guys head got outside of the map he beat you. You have 5-10 minutes to kill him. And you're talking about the difference of 1 seconds to crawl a little further.

    ↑this! I wouldn't say that any better!

But let me give you an explanation based on lore:

If the killer doesn't manage to kill the survivor in the trial then the killer failed. It doesn't matter if the survivor's hand is on the exit by an inch or more, if it's out then they're out that's the rules.

  • Imma say this, since they are features to the game, technically they aren't toxic. They are just dick moves, that's all. In my philosophy, the killer can do whatever they want, they wanna facecamp? Go for it I don't care, your job either way is to kill me, just expect some salt in the endgame chat.

  • @CLAUDETTEINABUSH said:

As a killer, your job is to KILL the survivors, that's the whole purpose of the killer side, but of course some survivors don't see it exactly that way. In no way I'm trying to make fun of them tho, so I think I should short some things out.

The killer can do anything that isn't bannable to win the game. That means they can camp, tunnel, camp a generator (don't ask me, I got flamed for doing that), play any killer and use any perk that they like, there shouldn't be anyone to hold em back. Yes of course its a d*** move to camp or tunnel, but, since they are the killer, they can do it. You don't make up the rules, both as a survivor and as a killer.

I'm struggling to understand why I shouldn't use killers like the spirit and "I should go play a normal killer". Excuse me but, you didn't actually pay for my account did you? Since this is my account I can use whatever I want.

If someone flames you in post game chat, send them this and hopefully they will realize how stupid they really are xd

Cya in the fog, fellow killers and survivors of the fog.

This is something I posted some days ago. I'm kinda lazy to rewrite this so I just send the post. The only thing I accept is to just create anti-camping perks.

  • I would actually go to the other side of the spectrum and remove the names and instead add their character names, to avoid for example streamsniping and such, BUT if that doesn't work, then I would like that smoll name tag on their head. Lorewise, doesn't fit tho, sry :'3

  • Heya friend! My go to, and wifu, is spirit. She completely ignores pallets and loops and she is so complicated to play with imo. If you wanna see if someone is sitting in a bush then you have to remember the exact copy of a normal bush and a copy with a person on em. L O V E her UwU

    I apologise.

It's just that I felt insulted and challenged by how @elvangulley came at me.

From how I see it, I said there is more than just the 4k, they implied that I am an entitled survivor main who only wants easy escapes. I have just defended my position in response.

And elvangulley, don't assume anything about me. Ask questions first, and get to know me. I can be quite reasonable, when I'm not feeling personally attacked. Believe it or not, I much prefer a hard escape and find the EGC or hatch escape way better than a 4-man gen-rush escape against a baby killer.

There's also the issue of I can't understand your position if you don't explain it to me. This is why I say to justify your play style. It's not to be a snob or act superior, it's so I can actually see what you mean.

I think that playing the role of a horror psycho is better than mindless killing, the Emblem system supports me. You think that raw kills are better. Let's leave it at that.

Apologize accepted. You are now allowed to enter my bush.

  • @Terra92 said:

With the current pip system, killers are lead to believe that everything but a perfect 4K win is a loss. 3K but someone escaped from the hatch? BHVR robbed me of my earned 4K. 4K but someone gave up on first hook? Survivors are toxic and entitled and I should have had a perfect game but survivors just can't handle the fact that I deserve the 4K.

Like it goes both ways, for sure, but the way the pip system works right now, killers in purple/red ranks need to get 4K or bust. Survivors have to not gen rush, play out the game to its fullest, participate in just about everything, including at least one 15-30 second chase(and escape from it), take out a totem, unhook and fully heal one survivor, take out one generator at least, and are encouraged to go for late game unhooks to gain more emblem pip points. They don't even have to escape to pip, they can be the only one dead and double pip off a single game.

As the killer in a 1v4 game, you have to realize you drive the train, you set the stage and you command how the game will go. Mileage will vary depending on how good you are at the game vs the other four players, but in general, you decide how good or bad an experience players will have, based on both which perks you bring to the table with the killer you've decided to play, and how you play in-game.

I'm not saying you have to be altruistic in your killer play, not at all. But there's a solid thick line between playing the game to win and playing the game to make sure everyone else has a bad game.

I agree, but the point still stands, if it's allowed I can do it and they shouldn't complain. I agree, such things may ruin the other player's experience BUT (and that's a big but) if I'm not allowed by my morals to not use killers, add-ons or strategies that I like just to care about others, that's kinda meh imo. For the record, I don't do anything "toxic" from the survivor side, that includes tunnel, camp, facecamp, noed ect. The only thing in "guilty" of is playing spirit, but if I flame someone for playing spirit, I believe you will be braindead enough to just flame for tunnel just because you run into the killer after the unhook.

But I'll admit, the comment you made was a good one, and I agree :3

When it takes me about 3 reads to figure out what you are saying, then add some damn full stops. Easy as that.

People have their own definition of winning, and I follow the pip system that the game provides.

My original point you are obviously ignoring is that there is more to this game than just kills and killers like you aren't going to help the game's health. Killers who NEED buffs are being ignored because of kill-hungry stat boosters. Decisive Strike and Borrowed Time have become meta perks for survivors to try and prevent/delay underhanded tactics. My way of play both naturally counters those perks AND co-insides with what the ranking system wants.

If you want to be permanently kill-hungry then F13 is the game for you. Go nuts. Just don't complain that the DbD system doesn't support you and the player base flame you for using underhanded tactics.

Please stop arguing, you're ruining the threads purpose. You both have different understandings for the game and I respect that, you don't need to be mean to each other about it.

If you want to continue fighting, go to talk in a private chat. Thank you.

"since i payed this account, i can do whatever i want"

From a juridically standpoint, Yes you can. From a moral standpoint, no you should not. At least not according to my moral understanding

I mean, its up to you. If you want to play like an ass, then play like an ass, but be prepared to get called out and/or treated like an ass too.

Cause and effect. When you for example play chess and you treat your opponent with bad manner after every piece he plunders, you also should not be suprised if he wont play with you anymore or he tells you what he thinks off you. You CAN do it, but it is a very nasty thing to do so. Sad that i have to explain this to you.

I know that, that's why I specifically said that these things are d*** moves, I never said I done em. The only "toxic" thing I do where survivors complain all the time is playing spirit, even without stridor.

I just say, I can do and play what I want however I want, If it's not cheating the game rules.

If you think your job is to just kill the survivor then you clearly don't know this game. The entity is my boss as killer. The Entity wants the survivor to feel hope before having it obliterated at the end of a hook. The killer is the Entity's bitchboy is all he is.

This is a repeated process. The Entity wants a survivor or 2 to escape and tell the other survivors there is hope, then crush that hope.

If you tunnel and camp and get the message that The Entity was displeased, you failed.
