I like toolboxes tbh. Now they are used for tactical reasons instead of holding m2 for 3 gens :p

With his foot. And then chops their finger off and sucks it. When I say "uses his brute force to crush their skull", that's with his hands. I'd love to see the trapper grab the survivors skull with both hands and crush their skull as they try desperately to escape his grasp
That's hot

Trapper, Trapper, Trapper.
I much rather face all the other Strong Killers in the game at once than to play against a single Trapper.
I just hate going against him, mainly because good Trappers can basically stop a chase before it happens. And that's not what I like about the game as Survivor. I want to be chased, I want to risk my own skin to give my teammates time to work on generators. Trapper doesn't give me that.
With Freddy I at least can expect a ton of fun chases around multiple structures, with Spirit I can count on my knowledge as a Spirit main to read her and fool her everytime she phases, with Nurse I can juke her with LOS blockers, Huntress? Force her to throw at false doors or windows. Hag? She has to still teleport to you AND chase you with her 110% movement speed.
All of these Killers have one thing in common, they are all based around the Chase. And that's the one thing I love the most about this game as a Survivor. Feeling pressured and feeling unsafe only to risk yourself during a chase to give your teammates a chance to work on generators as safely as they can.
And Trapper can down you with an unlucky trap.
Wow not even a pun, I'm disappointed as a spirit main talking to a fellow spirit main

I also hope we see some updated moris for older killers like trapper and Wraith, hopefully they relate to their pasts. Maybe the wraith can do what he did to Azarov (his previous boss). He ripped out his spine and uses it as his weapon. Maybe we can see the wraith do something similar to that? And the trapper could use his brute strength to crush their skull? There are plenty of options
Clown kinda crashes the skull doesn't he? :3
-
Personally if I see a swf, even though I wanted a normal match, I would think about bringing a Mori. I have more than 10 moris stacked on my characters so I also need to take care of them. But most of the time it's dailies tbh

Please relax and stop being mean. Technically speaking they can do whatever they want, and pretend that they have everything. They can write in the forums "I have a 300000000$ mobile phone, am I the only one? Of course I am you poor ######### now be jealous" and we can't do anything about it. So just relax and wait till a mod takes care of this. It could be called spamming. If you want, approach a mod, but make sure to not waste their time.

Players get annoyed at the most random things, some very basic. One of the harshest reactions I got was against an Adam who was actually very decent. I had him injured. He greeded a pallet and while LoS was blocked he popped an insta heal. He ran back into me and stood still bating the swing. I thought it was a styptic when I saw the medkit disappeared. I counted to 10 and bodyblocked the pallet when he panicked, then I downed him. Then, after being unhooked, he came back and slow vaulted a window in my face while I was chasing someone else. I waited for the animation to end and I swung through the window, slugging him. It was a DS play. The chat of that match was heated, to say the least.

Spirit's power works based on tracking, not outsmarting.
I use mother daughter ring. I track really rarely, I rely on prediction
-
Basically every time I play spirit. Survivors can't handle someone that outsmart them so they give up. As a survivor I loop d a ghostface for 3 gens and a gate, resulting in me barely escaping because of hatch. The killer started accusing me of hacks and blamed the genspeed. Guess what, I didn't get banned for hacks because I obviously didn't have hacks. It's spine chill resilience that carries m8
-
Depends, if I enjoyed the chases with nea and thought she did deserve the hatch I would give it to her. If she was annoying, teabagging and acted in a, let's say toxic way, I would kill her too.
-
Honestly not that bad. When I was green rank I was against red ranks all the time.

Heyo Groot, I'm also a spirit main now. I suggest this!
Corrupt, pop, bbq and stridor/a nurses calling/stbfl. Stridor is necessary if you run my personal favorite combo, mother daughters ring and green duration. You're gonna enjoy it trust me 😉
-
Some changes I would make: moris and keys will have a complete rework alongside luck. Moris and keys can be used only during end game collapse (is a simple idea, but I have more if it doesn't work) and luck effects everything, from where the hatch will spawn to how many crows a map has, position of gates ECT. I would also add a bad luck killer offering. Lastly a rework on iri head. I've posted about this in my latest forum if you wanna see, I'm kinda lazy to copy paste :p
-
My spirit build is decent, but you need extreme game knowledge to pull it off:
Mother daughters ring alongside the green add-on for duration, makes you extremely fast and ends chases quickly, you have decent duration to understand where they are at and believe it or not your power recharges faster cuz of the duration!
Perks: bbq, corrupt, pop and stridor. Your lack of scratch marks is the only weakness, and stridor makes up for it. Gens will be slow if you pressure them, which is easy since you have massive speed and map pressure. You need to learn spirit tho, so I don't recommend it to killers that just started playing her. A cool trick of mine helps me with this. When I smack a survivor and know someone is going a gen close to me, I look at the injure's direction and instead phase to the one doing the gen, resulting in an easy grab. Pallets are basically non-existent with this speed so chased are pretty short too.

Ok once again I completely understand Bming someone if they're Bming you even though I don't do it myself and that's cool that you respect people who are just playing in peace. As for tbagging as a sense of accomplishment I could kind of see it if they were able to give me a pretty good looping but that doesn't happen very often but doing it because they got another chance from hatch and happened to be the last person alive baffles me especially because I try to play as fair as possible.
If they escape they feel that they won and that they dominated you, even if they were just sitting in a corner. It's the feeling of victory that drives em.
-
As a hybrid player I'll happily answer you:
I had some chases where I had to use every braincell to down the survivor. As a feeling of accomplishment I smack em ONLY IF THEY WERE "TOXIC" FIRST. I won't smack a normal person, I'm not a monster.
Why do survivors teabag and stuff? Well, they have a sense of accomplishment. They feel that they did something, that they outsmarted and outskilled the killer.
Hope I answered your questions :3

????
You can do a gen without a toolbox. You can heal someone or yourself without a medkit. Yet these items exist...
You stated the toolboxes do gens faster..the medkits heal people faster and these are in your words OK. BUT you think there is no need for an item to open gates faster? That somehow is going too far and unnecessary. You contradict yourself.
With your thinking...Why do we need anymore new killers or survivors...or any new maps...
Consider your point taken that you don't consider any new items to be necessary. Some of us would like some NEW THINGS in the game that address specific situations...I understand that you don't think it's necessary. I completely disagree!
My point was that you suggested an item that could only be used in one state of the game. This cannot exist. You could argue that keys can't be used till hatch is spawned but still, hatch is guaranteed to be spawned, exit gates aren't guaranteed to be powered. Even without escaping with a key you can use it to read auras. This idea could get away at max as a toolbox add-on that says "you can use toolbox on the exit gates, lose the ability of repairing a generator with this toolbox", maybe that could work.
-
Why should it be reworked? The killer plays with 3 perks all game just for a chance of getting a really good reward at the end. High risk high reward, I don't know why it should be changed tbh.

How does speed limiter cancel the downside???
Misunderstood your sentence sorry :D

@Waffleyumboy said:
The first idea is good if you just mute his chainsaw entirely. Stealth Billy sounds fun.
Second idea is rough. Real rough. It doesn't have any flavor imo, what type of object could you correlate to making a chainsaw now shred wood but instead be very easy to maneuver? Plus, it's pretty useless because his curves are already insane.
My idea to replace your second one would be that his chainsaw shreds through pallets without stopping him but his chainsaw no longer instadowns. Could be fun.
Thought about that but speed limitor actually cancels the downside. My thrid option was to completely disable the stuns when he hits an object (walls for example) but he has a cooldown after using his chainsaw (I call it overheat) based on how many seconds it was used (for example if it was used for a second it has a 0.5 second delay, if it was used for 15 seconds it has a 7.5 second delay). What this is, basically, is that he is ready to hit after he's done chainsawing. He will chainsaw around the map and when he is done he has a free m1 or he can wait to use m2. If you just cancel your chainsaw instead of bump into something it won't change anything, you'll get the cooldown and do the animation. If you bump into something you just won't have a stun and you will be able to continue normally (the chainsaw sprint tho will stop)

@Predated said:
Billy's chainsaw sound being global instead of directional already kinda makes him stealthy, I've been instadowned by a charging billy more than once simply because he didnt come from the direction I last saw him in and he moved too fast for me to react. So if you gonna add that, then billy's normal sounds need to be directional again.
With proper practice, you can already steer Billy over 90 degrees. Which is why a lot of people say that Bubba is simply a very weak Billy. Billy can do the same things Bubba can, adding even easier steering to the point where he replaces Bubba fully leaves no reason for people to even want to touch Bubba.
Besides, his current addons are already very good, adding those ones would simply be overkill.
They either way gonna rework his add-ons, so I suggested some red add-on ideas. I think that stealth Billy could work, you don't know if he's chainsawing or not, you stay on the gen or leave? The only counters are spine chill, seeing him coming and great game knowledge. The second add-on makes Billy a somewhat scary character to face in loops. This makes it so he can turn a bit more than 90 degrees and with a second add-on for steering would be perfection. I don't want any hard viable add-ons tbh, I'm just in the normal red add-on mindset: nurse has one blink, but can blink only in line of sight places, spirit can run fast while phasing but can't see scratch marks, hag can teleport in every trap, but has a cooldown ect.

EU, red ranks, never saw or heard about these God Nurses post nerf. For me, Nurse is pretty rare as a whole, most Nurse mains I know quit on her and I think I have better chances to find an unicorn than a "God" Nurse that apparently it's still getting praised on forums.

People keep talking about these "God" Nurses who eat SWF teams at breakfast, but I keep seeing only Nurses who either get destroyed or struggle to win with 1 gen left against solo survivors.
And I disagree on that statement. A God SWF would be able to destroy a God Nurse most of the time, unless that Nurse is running a Mori.
Have you ever played on red ranks? I'm on eu servers and I can tell you, they are rare but they demolish. Good luck trying to predict them, they are in your head, it's actually scary. A god nurse has 2 counters, corn maps and indoor maps. Corn blindness is a huge problem and they break line of sight really often on indoor maps to. They do exist, they are the rare demonic creatures that make nurse s tier. If you find one, dcing is the quickest way to end the game, which trust me, won't last long.
-
@Marcus said:
The killers you listed are possibly still the top 3, but you're wrong about Nurse's rework being a succes, IMO all her add-ons besides blink cooldown and range are still useless and her base kit is awful to play because of the cooldown and Dedicated Servers. They pretty much killed Nurse for any average player.
Tho I guess people could make a case for Freddy. Unlike Nurse, you don't need to sweat your ass off with him in order to get similar results. Tho he's still a M1 killer after all, so he might not be that good as well.
Freddy is an easy killer, that's why he is so lethal in the average games. Nurse is the best killer, if you disagree well, a god nurse can end the game with 5 gens done against a pro swf.
-
I really doubt it. One thing doesn't makes sense, the observer. You could say that he simply observes the dreams, but if that's the case how did he escape through the void? Another nightmare? And even so, how does he has so much power?
Also, there are 4 more people that the player knows (usually 3 different survivors that you have met and a killer). It would also be really unsatisfying answer xd.
People that are mentioned in the lore, like the main protagonist who wrote the journals, his details are so specific, it's unlikely that it's a dream.
Interesting theory, there are evidence that support it, but I think that a human mind can't make these up by themselves. I don't think that the devs made the lore so mysterious for it to just be a dream :0

I don't that that's so controversial. It seems pretty reasonable to me, honestly. Granted, it would have to be high enough such that someone who is playing normally with a good connection without a server nearby doesn't have any issue playing, but I don't see anything wrong with a high limit (say, 250ms). It is an online game, after all. While I do empathize with people who are having connection issues, it is on you to get that fixed, not everyone else's responsibility to deal with it for you. Those are real people you're playing with, not bots.
Although that's just one way to deal with it. There are other ways to handle it, such as by taking away hit authority and instead handling it on the server. That way if you have a terrible connection, you're the one that feels it, not the other people with good connections.
I usually start with more than 250 Ms when I connect to the server (sometimes 1500 lol) but after a second or two into the game I have normal ping. Wouldn't it be a bit unfair for people like me?

Nurse -> Spirit -> Oni (against competent teams)
Hag, Billy, and Freddy come close to that #3 spot.
Hag has too many weaknesses. She’s still great but flashlights and OoO will crush her hard.
Freddy is strong but a BIT overrated. He’s very obnoxious and boring to face but he is still a basic M1 killer.
Billy is a more consistent version of Oni but Oni is just so much more capable of downing against good survivors when his power is up due to how easy it is to control and flick around corners.
Disagree with oni because he needs an early hit to get his power and can be 360d a bit too easily imo

Top 3 Actual Best not Theoretical BS. Meaning that while it may be true that the perfect AI could create an unstoppable killing machine with the Nurse, for 99 percent of humans she's garbage tier. And for .9 percent she's good, and for .1 percent she's the best killer. But lets be honest, I look forward to Nurse games because they tend to be easy wins.
Top 3 -
Freddy is number 1, because for how easy he is too play he's simply the strongest. Sure the best huntress player, or the best nurse player maybe better than the best Freddy players. But there are 10 Freddy red rank killers for every Nurse or Huntress or Spirit.
Spirit is number 2, the skill floor and skill ceiling is a bit higher then Freddy but she's much easier to master than Nurse or Huntress and you'll be able to keep up with even the best SWF (Assuming you've mastered Spirit)
Hillbilly is number 3, the only reason he isn't one is because he's complete dog doodoo on certain maps. But his mobility, instadowns, and overall ease of use secure his position in the top 3.
I disagree with your opinion. Top 3 killers aren't supposed to be the easiest killers, they are supposed to be the highest skill highest reward killers that it may take a while to learn and master, but when you do, you're unstoppable. They 0.9% is obviously wrong if you haven't played in the red ranks. Since every killer you mentioned is stronger than Freddy then it's obvious that Freddy isn't in the top tier. Lethality and difficulty is completely different.

It was 30-35 minutes. The last two Survivors were immensely sneaky. The only reason I was able to hang on at the end was because I had Surveillance. Every time one of them touched this one gen we were battling over, by the time I got there they had vanished. Every time, over and over.
In the end, I think I got one and the other... I can't remember. Might have gotten the last one, or they might have gotten the hatch. Anyway, it was a really fun match. Cutting those off is one reason I (personally, not speaking for the whole Design team) do not want to put a hard time limit on Trials.

I don't think hag is top tier. The top 3 are all mobility killers that end chases quickly. On the other hand, hag needs to place her traps and her early game is awful. I would say low A, high B tier imo, adding her hight which makes mindganes in high walls really hard.

Again, maybe it is a region thing. But I've rarely seen Freddy with Snares now, especially in Rank 1. Yes, I know it's my opinion, but that's what makes these things opinions and not facts, even if a lot of people agree with you. Sometimes the majority opinion is just flatout wrong.
They mostly use Pallets because it's a much better add-on to take especially around the endgame. You don't need slowdown, just to erode the survivor's trust in pallets. And no, I don't main Freddy. I main Spirit, but hey, according to this forum she is "equally as unskillled" because I have "good headphones".
And yes, it is a thing. It always has been a thing, I never denied that. What I am denying though is seeing Freddy constantly using it because I've never met up with a Freddy that has the Forever Freddy builld in ages. In fact, I've rarely seen Freddy at all in Red Ranks. It's almost as if people overrate him and realize he isn't as powerful as most people, especially in this forum, thinks he is. It's almost as if he can get absolutely stomped by Survivors who keeps themselves awake, who actually knows what they are doing, who are actually good at the game.
Yeah and so? It's not like it's instant. Hag, Demo, and Billy also have added bonuses to their teleportations. Hag can use add-ons that makes it invisible so they aren't even aware you trapped the area. Demo has built in Killer Instinct on Activated Portals, and Billy can use his chainsaw whenever he wants. With no cooldown.
Freddy can only do it once every 30ish seconds. And even then, the reason his teleportation feels strong is because Survivors keeps running around everywhere leaving scratch marks rather than being stealthy when they see blood spewing out of the generators. Do you really think he knows where Survivors are at if they just hide? You're already given a pretty lenghty headstart, more than 5 seconds warning that he is teleporting to a generator. It's even worse if he fakes it, because then he has to recharge his teleport again without being able to push Survivors off of the generator.
And again, something most people who actually knows how to play against Freddy will tell you.
WAKE UP!
If being in a dreamstate is such a hassle, then get out of it, miss skillchecks, use the alarm clocks. Do ANYTHING rather than staying in the dreamstate. He is an M1 killer outside of it and he is very much managable if you keep him busy while awake (which is already a pretty long ass time even with the passive cooldown)
@DelsKibara said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1256952#Comment_1256952
Oh, I'll admit it's strong. Same way using Yakuyoke Amulet and Mother-Daughter Ring on Spirit is strong, same way using Thanatophobia + Dying Light is strong on Legion, same way using Monitor & Abuse + Infectious Fright + Scalped Topknot is strong on Oni.
It is strong, and while I don't see it as often, what's the problem with it again? A lot of combinations are strong on Killers. A lot of them can halt and stop the game.
It can stop Survivors working on generators, but it wasn't as effective as it was prior to the nerf Freddy got.
Hell, if you can keep Freddy busy for long, like 40-60 seconds tops, you'll already be able to get at least 3 generators almost done if survivors spread out and separate. Or a whole generator to be done if you stack on a single one. And it isn't hard to keep Freddy busy. Even with this perk. If he is running Forever Freddy, it means he isn't running any CHASE perks. And if you're awake (which you should always be doing especially against Freddy), then you're chasing an M1 Clown with no bootles around.
And yes, Hag has to use an add-on, but she also has the sudden jumpscare factor which messes up your controls if she doesn't have that. "Demo makes a lot of noise"? You are aware when I say Killer Instinct I mean GIVING AWAY YOUR EXACT POSITION ON THE MAP right? He doesn't even need to teleport there immediately, just have the knowledge that you are there and he can come get you later. And again, Billy can use his chainsaw whenever he wants. And still, with that speed going across the map shouldn't be difficult.
Freddy doesn't have any of those bonuses, just the ability to teleport, what DON'T you understand about that? Just because he can teleport doesn't make him instantly dangerous. He doesn't mess up your controls, he doesn't have map-wide awareness with activated portals, and he doesn't have an instadown. He can only teleport and he can only do it intermittently.
And yes, 30 seconds. And 30 seconds is still a crippling cooldown. Then again, if you suck, 30 seconds can seem like not a lot of time for Freddy to get his power back ;) Also he cannot afford to look around a generator for long, do you really think he will spend the time combing a tile for Survivors who are stealthy? Of course not, especially because combing around for Survivors who hide really well can be difficult and time consuming.
Lets take an L Wall tile for example.
You see him teleport right after he hooks a survivor, where do you think you should go? Go farther from the direction of the hooked survivor, but walk behind the L wall, and keep yourself out of LOS of Freddy. If someone who is working with you panics and runs, then he will most likely go after them. Then you can continue working on the generator he just (presumably) damaged. With this knowledge, you can also tell that he is either running BBQ or Discordance, so you know not to stack up with other survivors next time, or you can just... You know.. Hide in a locker? Which is the counter to BBQ. Rob him of this valuable information. He can't tell which generator to teleport to without guessing and wasting his power if you just hide.
Also, I've rarely seen failing a skillcheck become a detriment nowadays. Especially if the killer is chasing someone else. They're focused on chasing them. Sure they might make a mental note of it later, but by then you will have woken up and ready to be chased rather than be in a disadvantaged position being in the dream state. Do you really think the killer will automatically come for you if you miss a skillcheck? Because I'm pretty sure he has more important survivors to worry about at that time being, especially during a chase.
And of course, being in a dreamstate is detrimental. But it's not as bad as old Legion. Because if you're actually good at the game, if you know your loops, know how to run tiles and pallets, then his slowdown won't matter much. It only matters if you only capitalize on a single loop and not run from one loop to another to another to another. Effectively wasting his time setting up new snares in every single new loop. Sure, getting downed is easier especially in the dreamstate. But you're not automatically dead like Old Legion.

You're telling me you're basing your opinions based off of Streamers and Content Creators? Seriously?
So at this point you're not basing your opinion off of your own self, but the opinions of other people who may have completely different experiences to you?
Look, Noob and Ussylis are great and all, but I personally wouldn't trust their opinion compared to someone like Otzdarva. If I want an opinion on how a Killer should feel in balance, I would go to someone who mainly plays Killer more often than Survivor. Of course, if they care about balance (like Otz), they won't say that Killers needs to be nerfed, just tweaked enough so they don't become useless. That they still have their power, and that they still have their potential.
And I'm not saying Otz just because he is a Killer main, have you seen his Survivor gameplay? It's still really really good. So he obviously would take how Survivors view Freddy into consideration. And he hasn't said anything about Freddy needing to not have a teleport, needing to not have snares, etc etc.
He has talked about how strong he is, but he also said that no killer should be stronger than Freddy. Meaning that Freddy is at that point of strong, while also weak enough to not constantly curbstomp survivors easily.
Of course, you don't have to agree with him. But you shouldn't just easily agree with other content creators just because they agree with what you think should be changed. Overall, balance changes are in the hands of the devs, and recently they've done a pretty good job so far. Not even being sarcastic with the inside joke.
Even if the community has amazing suggestions for buffs and changes, as long as the devs has different plans, then it's going to either stay the same or change based on what they think is best for the game.
I don't mind it actually, if Freddy gets changes, buffs, nerfs, etc. But that will be the dev's decision. Freddy doesn't need to be nerfed to the ground, because as far as I can tell, most Survivors just hasn't been able to play against him at all.
I genuinely am to lazy to read this, I'll think of a tldr, Freddy isn't actually a skilless killer, just people think he is for various reasons.
I'm biased if I agree tho. Don't judge my laziness, I have 53 more messages to read and that's not a joke xd

Freddy is not too strong, he's a strong killer yes, but not OP. People don't have any issue with him at red ranks, and he shouldn't be nerfed simply because of people not knowing how too counter him. Spirit, Billy, and even Nurse are still better then Freddy, and Nurse and Billy can use the same BBQ + Pop combo too the same tune as Freddy.
Never said he's op, I said that he's not skilled. With spirit you must search every detail, hear and predict. With nurse you have to predict accurately what the survivor does. With Billy you should know where to use your m1 and where your m2 and drift like a mad lad. With Freddy, you just place snares and tp....
See what I mean? Maximum results without skill.

Very boring killer that takes minimum skill to get maximum results.
Yeah, I bet that you fall asleep in lockers just like I fall asleep in bushes 😏

It was actually changed, the whole lullaby on the survivor's perspective. She sings for 5+ minutes turning from sad to happy, and then repeat. I love it so much ❤️😍💙

It's actually not new - it's the same track, however, before it used to reset every time the huntress got in a chase (or landed a hit - i'm not sure which of the two), so you would only ever hear anything after the first minute or so of the sound track if the killer was doing really badly and struggling to find any survivors.
The change to the hum is that it now doesn't reset anymore, so we actually get to listen to the whole track on loop.
If you're interested - here's a link to the full track: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gNX0lFtVSSU
Someone in the comments even broke down the different nuances from each "mood change" within the track - i found this particularly interesting:
0:00 Upset voice breaking and holding back sobs.
0:45 Repeats what she just song but her voice doesn't break.
1:25 She starts to speed up the lullaby, and a small chuckle.
2:25 Really starts to sound deranged. (Going off beat starts laughing a little)
3:25 Gets into the lullaby a lot (singing it)
3:58 Laughs or seems a lot happier or jollier.
5:00 Loses it a laughs a little.
5:25 A loud good crazy laugh
It's really creepy and I love it!

Pretty sure it just doesn't reset when you see a survivor
True it is a reset! However you should notice that the voice is actually deeper and there wasn't any feeling on the old one. Her voice is a bit deeper too :)
I immediate realised it in game, it sounded way to weird from the beginning
