Perks usually require combo to make it greater than it should be.
Killers have 4 perks, so use most perk slots to change play style isnt ideal, something like this perks combo will help me shorten each chase by 15sec if everything goes as planned. While putting 4 slowdown and they add 5min Gen time, and suddenly every problems are solved.
For survivors, many perks are really weak and niche, but (One) you can freely combo with other perks, since you have your teammates go either 2nd chance or Gen boost. (Two) you can combo with your teammate's build to make it even stronger; Boil over with Sabo / Breakout / MoM for example

There is no rework when her basekit breaks the core game rules, unless you change her power. Remove speed and M1 blink are already the best and only possible change.

It's unfortunate when you get posts like this that can't stand the thought of a broken add-on finally being balanced. Blight doesn't need Alchemist's Ring.

Im being injured willing to sacrifice myself doing the last Gen that give me merely 2000 BP going on and off from Gens.
While teammate keep taking turn doing unhook/heal that give them 1800 BP per turn. Often Im always have the least BP.

People run into more toxic survivors than toxic killers because they run into more survivors in general, 4 of them 1 of killer. That's why
I never run into toxic killers when play as killers. Killers have my respect.
To be fair, toxic people dont know they're toxic. Play as Killer and you never run into other killer, while there are 4 survivors (100%). Play as Survivor and you run into 1 killer, but 3 survivors (75%).

The goal isn't to buff 12-hooking into viability, it's to make camping and tunneling not the best strategies.
Except:
People that tunnel or camp because they don't care do it no matter what.
So camping and tunnelling need to not just be 'not the best strategies', they need to be wholly incompetent. And you don't achieve that with a 15 second grace period or 'guaranteed trades'.
Also, I don't know why you're ranting about topics that have literally nothing to do with the original thread. Go make one about tunneling/camping if you want to talk about it that much. This thread is about hatch incentivizing poor design. Whataboutism gets you nowhere.
To remind you: You came up with the argument that lose/lose situations are fine if one side outskills the other too much, to which I replied that that argument has never flown for when killers are on the losing end, as evidenced by how tunnelling and camping are treated on the forums.
The game should not be balanced around 12 hooks, because the kill rate isnt about balanced around 100% kill but 60%. Which is around 2 to 10 hooks, and this hooks gap is just to far away make it impossible to balance.
It should be balanced around 6-10 hooks (2 survivors with 3 hooks ; or 3 survivors with 3 hooks).
There are suggestion that to encourage killers to spread hooks, but no reward as great as removing 1/3 survivors' Gen power.
-
Or without window, its pretty much a whole title but its just basic loops.
the map looks like it has 6 weaker variations of shack. But im glad that loops have grass. Just enough to set a bear trap on
-
No where to hide is fine on paper. But the fact that survivors are too used to walk away from Gen and hide behind a wall when terror radius coming “for 6 years”, then kick the Gen and reveal the survivors leaving free hits.
if the perk released 3-4 years ago, it would feel far weaker.

"I don't know how anyone can say with a straight face that OTR is as strong as old DS."
-Lasts longer
-Can't be countered by slugging
-Has beneficial effects beyond the endurance
-On-hit boost grants just as much if not more distance than old Decisive
-Single easiest-to-use bodyblocking perk in the entire game
I'm sorry but OTR wins, high diff.
Compare new OTR and old DS. Yes the perk itself OTR would be god tier in old 2nd chances meta. Where BT wasnt basekit.
-There is basekit BT now, but again, hit them off hook cause disable OTR. You down a DS survivor forced to slug them.
-The slug you have to wait gain them to recharge Dead hard
-Old DS forced killer to slug, which make Unbreakable extremely strong. New DS make Unbreakable hardly used.
You cant just compare the perks, but how a perk can be combo with other things, like Thana is weak but its strong with Plag/Legi
Just like Undying was totally untouched in 40 perks rework, yet no one uses then because Ruin hard nerf, because how strong Ruin is, is how strong Undying is

Weirdly (and I'll have the data up next month) - games where I camped, tunneled or slugged have the exact rate of suicides/DCs/AFKs as when I play like this.
Because most of these quitters happen on the first one or two downs, or the first time you hook someone. I've had people suicide when I was at 3 hooks, it was their first hook and they had 1 gen left. I've also had people quit the second I started playing chill, and type 'just ###### end it moron' in postgame.
Each players have their own weird way to play.

That 1.5 is actually quite substantial. Over a match, those seconds add up as that's time two survivors have to do other things. Yes, Botany doesn't play nice with items, and that's fine - it's incredible to bring if you're going empty handed or another item.
Pharmacy...sure. That was a weird change, and Santa builds are fun in a group but it was a weird, weak, gimmicky perk and still is. I'm not sure, but didn't it only use to work once though? If so, then I think the changes come out - at worst - about even.
Im sure I will not able to heal 10 times a match to save 15sec while I can heal myself and save my teammate 16sec on Gen. Thats not counting the time I have to find my teammate to heal me.
Any second save count, sure. But Im just explaining Botany got a huge nerf, not buff. Same to Pharmacy, I know its a meme perk that I use to gift people. But thats mean I play meme build.
The nerf forced me to stay away Pharmacy, Botany to use better perks. Back to the other person complain, they see CoH all the time, because they nerfs the already weak perks.

Survivors run gen speed perks because they are powerful and make them win easier, same with killers using slowdown. There’s no mystery, people run whatever makes them win.
Even if killers didn’t run slowdown, survivors would still run gen speed and killers would still run slowdown if survivors didn’t run gen speed.
Thats the point, Gen boost perks/item is the second set of survivor's thing that to increase the chance to escape.
Old 2nd chances were extremely strong and the times it gives survivors' healthy state to prolong chase time is totally out class the time saved on Gen by Gen perks.
Now 2nd chances nerfed and the time saving between 2nd chance perks vs Gen boost are closer, survivors can have a choice to pick between those 2 builds.
@FreakPrince said:
Killers will never stop using regression perks no matter how hard they nerf gen speed. People will always choose the easiest way to win, same goes for survivors.
Once everyone understand the game isnt designed for them to win 90% of the time, the game will be rather chill, even with meme builds.

I swear, playing survivor after...maybe 500 hours of nothing-but-killer really changed how I saw the game. Because when you're on a killer in a game against better survivors, you can feel completely powerless - but the same holds true for survivor.
Now I play to win, sure, but I also tend to ease up if I'm stomping as killer and let folks pip/get some BP, finish a few gens, give them some healing to do etc. I don't farm, but unless someone suicides, I'll leave with 35k BP and they'll leave with 20k+
I like that.
One of the core problems with survivor is how stupidly their emblem rewards and BP gain is designed - it's entirely possible to leave a match with sub 5k BP and depip, for reasons mostly beyond your control. It's why I still prefer killer.
Thats what I want playing as survivor. I dont need to escape, but at least give me " false hope" that there is a chance that I can escape. People only do things if they know the result can be difference: think they can escape if they do Gen.
1 died at 4 Gens give no hope (yes its survivors' fault for have 1 dies at 4 Gens), there for the next survivor will suicide on hook or not willing to play. Do Gen or not, they will die anyway, so they dont do Gen, its just a simple human psychology
-

Curious what second chance perk was nerfed?
DH doesnt feel like a nerf at all to me but more of a change as it's still insanely strong and on all my builds.
I guess you could say DS? But they as long as the killer isnt nurse, blight etc. You can usually make it to a tile and still does its job but that's definitely nerfed. But OTR exists so just use that over DS if needs be and you avoided a nerf technically.
I dont think killers running gen defense is a surprise though, should be very clear as to why they do it for any player with good game understanding but maybe that's just me. recently I feel I'm being mismatched in games as killers arent running stacked slowdowns or playing to the normal skill I expect and games are just flying by

What second chance perks were nerfed?
Post-rework Dead Hard is still incredibly strong, Borrowed Time got hard buffed, Decisive Strike got nerfed but Off the Record is just Decisive 2.0, all the exhaustion perks went untouched, Adrenaline went untouched, Unbreakable went untouched—what nerfs?
I don’t even see genrush builds that much aside from the occasional Hyperfocus toolbox gamer. Most people in my matches run Off the Record, an exhaustion perk (usually Dead Hard), Adrenaline, and Windows—aside from Windows I still see the survivor meta heavily leaning on second chances, with the occasional Prove Thyself that doesn’t do much anyways.
BorrowedTime, Deadhard were 2 difference heal states. Despite they use 2 perk slots.
New BT, DH, OTR can be disable with a single hit off hook. Despite they use 3 perk slots.
For the BT get buffed. But you may prefer another candy, than have your 1 candy get bigger in size.
DH is still dirty and punish killers who play fair, thats for sure.

I wish survivors ran more anti-camp and anti-tunnel perks, but I barely see them. I sometimes see Unbreakable and DS, but the latter is seldom used as an anti-tunnel perk and more to bodyblock with impunity.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3322668#Comment_3322668
Botany barely got a nerf, it's more that it allowed insanely fast medkits that seldom ran out. It's still a very nice perk.
Selfcare shouldn't have gotten nerfed. But...ugh, if we're going back and forth on this, killer has way more of those cases.
The rest...I don't think anyone ever used those.
That said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3322076#Comment_3322076
CoH needs a nerf. It's just a problem perk and I see it every single game.
DH is...annoying, and maybe a touch OP, but I do see other Ex perks and I still like my Lithe, as DH falls apart against instadown killers or certain addons/perks.
Botany
Botany used to buff Medkit, which is broken yes.
New Botany increase the boost from +33% to +50%, sounds alot, but lets do the math.
- +33% makes healing from 16sec to 12sec. Save 4sec per heal.
- +50% makes healing from 16sec to 10.5sec. Save 5.5sec per heal.
Which mean, that 17% (sounds huge) save only additional 1.5sec per heal. With the downgrade that Brown medkit no longer able to heal my self.
Now in this scenario. I get a Brown medkit from a chest. I cant heal myself from it, I have to give it to teammate. If I give the medkit to my teammate, why I should use Botany in the beginning? They can already self heal faster with the Brown medkit without the need of me following them to heal.
Pharmacy
I used to pair this perk with Ace in the hole, to get a strong Green medkit and gift to teammate. Now I have to be injured. Point is, its really hard to escape chase unless you're really good and force killer to give up chase. If you're really good in chase, is healing necessary?
Now if I get hooked, then unhooked. Why I should run, find, search a chest to get a Green medkit; while I can just sit there for 16sec and healed by teammate?

I'm still running into 3-4 DH's when I'm using nothing meta, plus a grab bag of the other culprits. I don't think I'm that good. <_>
Its not about you're good or not. Lets say your skill is 6/10, but your MMR is 7-8. Not using meta or tunneling SHOULD make you lose and drop MMR.
Then even if your MMR is at 6 (correct place), you may either play against players who're worse than you (skill of 5/10) but carried by DH to reach to MMR 6/10. Or players who're better than you (skill of 7/10) but lose because they played against an equal skill opponent but use meta.
The whole point is you should track if you have 50-60% kill rate in all of those match, if it does, MMR works at intended.

There is no point to do Gen at that point.
I agree, which is why the current policy on holding the game hostage is stupid. Reworking hatch is also an option, for example: the hatch opens when there are two survivors left, and after one survivor escapes through it the other survivor is immediately mori'd.
I'm sure there are other viable ideas. The current hatch mechanic is simply not workable when the rules say you can't do your darndest to elude the killer in a 2v1 to get it.
Its not a good idea. There are case like the last Gen is 95%, Im doing Gen, you chase the last one. They jump into hatch and then I instantly die?
-
Remove the 10% chance of a survivor will sacrifice themselves to give their teammate hatch. So there will be 100% of the time both survivors will just hide. At least I know I always throw myself off for my teammate to get hatch.
Killers give up when they know they cant get a kill and stand in a corner. Survivors give up when 2 died with 2-3 Gens remaining. Can I ask what's the chance of my teammate that can run for the last 3 Gens? Because I know I cant run for 3 Gens.
If I do Gen just to die and my teammate get hatch, why I just not throwing myself off anyway? There is no point to do Gen at that point.

I find if you just mess around with builds (I change mine up often) and not care about whether you escape/die or 4k/1k, the game is the overall enjoyable. Purposely pushing for high MMR seems to me like a form of self flagellation. I've rarely seen anyone get to (presumed) high MMR and actually enjoy themselves.
To be fair, streamers like Otz usually have to play hard games for viewers' entertainment. And it does stress him out. There were users here didnt have fun after 4K because how stress the games were.
Depends on how hard you try to win, expect other side has equal level of try hard.
Cant expect to play against low Tier and chill killer while you slap in everything to ensure escape. The same to use 4 slowdown and tunneling then expect to play against survivors have zero 2nd chance to defend themselves.

No, but seriously - that's a lazy stereotype and also something I...don't actually see suggested often at all. I see folks saying 'just let go' or 'play in an SWF' more, honestly.
Yes, I know that Eruption is frustrating as a solo. But this discussion isn't that discussion.
My point is, the both suggestions to counter are equally unjustified.
"Just do something else" because you litterally cant do anything about what you want to do, isnt a counter.

Solution: Don't fall for the bait
Go for the other survivors
These 2 most likely are not going to crank gens
If they insist on that play just tunnel the other survivors out
No complaints allowed
Done
But hey, It's pointless now. Just make sure to look at a wall, check the surroundings for another survivor, or waste your perk slot with Lightborn
The solution "Just go for the other 2 survivors" because you cant do anything about that 2 locker survivors. Is not a justified way to counter.
But then I remember killers suggest just do other Gens when counter Eruption...

I find it’s both extremes for me. Either survivors complete gens at the speed of light and leave or I have survivors that struggle to get the first gen done. Not a lot of in between.
Because the game is balanced for 5 Gens done everymatch.
The difference between 1 Gen remaining match is 1 escape through hatch; and 0 Gen remaining match is 4 escape through gates.
There must be something that 2 Survivors escape dont require 5 Gens done. And add some more side objectives.
-
The most simple way is let Killer have a choice between Snuff for Plaything, NOED, or Destroy the totem completely. Shattered hope cause Expose and scream (not reveal aura) to the Blesser for 1min, either Snuff or Destroy.
Survivors without Boon perk can either Cleanse or De-Hex.
The hardest thing is to balance between COH and other Boon. Cant buff other Boons without buffing COH.

-
I play mostly survivors, to my POV, NOED is dirty if Killer tunnel 1 out of the game fast with 3 slowdown, I see that NOED is nothing but get every possible kill (hopeless matches)
However, Killers that play fair and use NOED, I see that NOED is like the last challenge to pass, hunt NOED and secure hooked survivor. There were times we all die in the end because of Blood warden. But those are fun match (fail hope matches)
I use NOED, BW, Rancor, RememberMe/No way out as Trapper. Survivors usually attempt to do my final challenge I give for them because they still have many hooks left to dare going back for teammates. The game is super interactive of heal / try to unhook / hunt for Noed with limited time....that no related to Gen.
-
Knowing the fact that MMR will throw you into a map that you have the lowest win rate, if you're getting too many wins.
I think there are maps that heavily one side, so MMR can throw you there to lose.
I remember I got 6 matches in a row as Trapper into Coldwind. Because I usually let survivors escape. Coldwind has the best grass in the game.

2 nerfs? DS wasn't nerfed but fixed (remember that when it was released ds stunned for 3 seconds, which could be mitigated even more thanks to enduring, then the devs proceeded to buff DS to 5 seconds and later nerfing enduring, forgetting in the meantime to revert the DS stun back), but even nerfed this perk is extremely useful and timewasting for the killer, especially when paired with OTR and Dead Hard. Gens despite the 10 seconds added now feels more fast to do because the recently released perks allow a survivor to complete a generator in lesser time than before (a survivor with hyperfocus, stake out and a green toolbox can finish a gen in less than 45 seconds https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SYnLWrbGexg)
Old 2nd chances were like this:
1-You hit once
2-You miss a Deadhard
3-You hit twice
1st hook
4-You hit BT (can ignore through timer)
5-You miss a Deadhard
6-You hit twice
7-Eat DS or Unbreakable
8-You hit thrice
2nd hook
9-You hit BT (can ignore through timer)
10-You miss a Deadhard
11-You hit twice
Last hook
New 2nd chances are like this:
1-You hit once
2-You hit a Deadhard
3-You hit twice
1st hook
4-You hit BT, this will remove both Deadhard & Off the record
5-You hit twice
6-Eat DS (because DS is so weak killers willing to eat through, Unbreakable was strong because of DS was strong) which more inferior to prenerf DS
2nd hook
7-You hit BT, this will remove both Deadhard & Off the record
8-You hit twice
Last hook
How can killers struggles more than before is quite questionable.

It crashes randomly, at anytime, not only DBD, but also other games.
But I found that I have to update BIOS, and its been fine for 2 days now

- I cant pick not to play against tunnelers/campers. Yet I dont prepare my loadout to face them.
- My first match against a toxic squad was as Wraith against old OoO, when they can see my aura ALL THE TIME. I went rampage on later teams for a week. But I understood that later teams have nothing to do with toxic squad. I never put rage on later teams despite getting toxic from previous one nowaday.
- BM happens on both side, I would say they need something to feel better about them, just move on.
I dont spend much time to type all of it.
14- Survivor's bloodweb now flooded with useless stuff, its rare to have 2 items in level 40 BW, while there are more chance to get Purple/Red addon also being far cheaper. You may easily see Brown Toolbox Medkit with Green/Purple addon. But dont worry, if I see at least 3 survivors bring items, I would drop my item somewhere incase killer has Franklin.
