yeah I feel the same. you should get crows for doing nothing, not for standing still
By doing nothing, you only mean “Gen”.
Sometimes its hard to find Gen in indoor map, I mean, if you want to punish “normal” players because they cant find a Gen to do, okay..

This perk + adrenawin of the hook + your non dead hard exhaustion sounds very very very strong
have 2 perks that you dont use until end game is a good trade for killer
Being on hook before the last Gen done with 2 perks are very specific situation. Thats only easier to work with swf…wait.
Solo doesnt matter much. You may only get that special value as rare as using HeadOn to stun killer mid chase for other survivor.

Midwich is decent because of some very dark place.
Racoon used to be dark, but now its really bright, but at least it has many tight places.
Eyrie pretty much M1
Garden of joy used to be dark in main building, and its mostly only place to set trap. Its weird that “Garden” of joy but has no grass.
Shattered square is strange, pretty decent for Trapper, titles have no grass, but each loops has 2 small bush that just enough.

Hang on, more Aura perks for killers mean Distortion should be nerfed.
Does that mean less Gen perks for killers mean Prove thyself, Hyper focus, Resilient should be buffed?

No where to hide is not strong, but because 6 years of building up habit "hiding behind walls waiting for Killer to kick Gens and leave" gone too deep in survivor. If the perk was released around BBQ time, it would be far much weaker that it is now.

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3344748#Comment_3344748
Distance from the killer has nothing to do with it, it just activates every time no matter what. Doesn't matter if the killer is nearby or not. It even works if you unhook yourself.
I tend to let all 4 survivors alive until end game so they can taste my end game build, be struggle to get 4 escape.
-
I use Noed, Rancor, Remember Me, Terminus. It sad me when other 3 dont bother to make an attempt, leave the hooked one and escape, I dont have a chance to make the perks play.
Endurance from basekit BT actually give killers more kills. It gives a sense to other survivors think they can make a save, sometimes from 1K lead to 4K. Without it, remaining survivors would just leave.
-
This kind of grave yard?
-
I suggested for months. Items should be free but only have the weakest version of them. Sure 4 Brown toolbox / medkit every match will be a thing, but thats mean they will balance around.
For now, 2 exact teams, one with no Medkit and other one with 4 Ranger + charges + styptic/ syringe are too far.
-
Trapper, 5 matches of Eyrie, Game, Lery, Garden of Joy, Yamaoka.
4 of 5 matches litterally play as M1 killer except Yamaoka.
No slowdown
No tunneling
No camping
11 kill for 20 survivors. Yes, its possible.
-
I think items should be free but only have 1 version of them, the weakest one. So the furthest gap would be a Brown medkit and a Brown medkit with 16 charge + Styptic.
Currently you cant balance the game between a survivor has no item and the other has a Ranger, 16 charge + styptic
-
The game should have "turn the table" mechanic. Something like setting certain hooks with certain number of Gens. Which side is losing get the buff. And there must be some other things to make 4 survivors are not too strong while 2-3 survivors are not hopeless.
The power gap between 4 and 3 survivors are too far.
-
Killers said the same when the 40 perks update happen : (

The pain of DH is only really good players can optimize the use. Which making good players even harder to down.
I dont use Eruption as killer; and DH as survivor because both perks are stupid.

In your situation you could have struggled if escape by your own was possible. Just don't give them any reaction when they try to fool you. That's all they crave.
I had a killer waited for me to open gate, then M1 to Mori right after the gate opened. Post chat "haha did you think you could escape" or something like that.
Im not fooled because I thought I can escape. I did try to escape because I dont want to waste time by afking against killers who actual let you escape.

The game has a survivor HUD now. Do you really think the 4th survivor is going to sit on a generator if they know the killer has eruption, there are only 2 survivors left, and the other survivor is getting chased?
Depends, if there is only below half a min of last Gen. I will try to complete the last Gen for the chance of both of us escape. Of course I will not do Gen if there are like 2-3 Gens remaining.
But I had a match in Lery where 1 Moried at 4 Gens left (old Mori), then 1 die with 2 Gens left. Only me and Meg. Somehow I decided to do Gens and accepting the death if Killer finds me. Surprise, the Meg hold the chase for 2 Gens and we both escape. She never ran into my Gen, I never see her in the match.

Eruption was a terrible perk that really needed some changes. The changes they did though are just dumb. What is a killer supposed to do with these 10s aura vision? Potentially make my way across the whole map and not hooking that survivor I just downed? Or is this more of a "Well, there could be someone around you" kind of perk? In that case why wouldn't I run Infectious Fright instead?
10s guys. At a time you absolutely don't need it. Not in the slightest.
10sec is useless if you pick dying survivor to hook. But 10sec is alot if you slug the 3rd survivor and go for the 4K.
Not a healthy change.

@Nazzzak said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3341965#Comment_3341965
Umm we can see when someone is being hooked. I'm guessing you don't play survivor. Their aura lights up red just before the hook happens. It gives you enough time to hop off the gen. And if you don't want to rely on the aura, then you hop off the gen when they get picked up. It's different to Eruption because a survivor could hold chase for minutes/multiple gens so you can't just wait around for them to be downed to avoid 25s incapacitation. With PR though, a killer will hook the survivor within a matter of seconds. Or, as most survivor do, you wait for the hook aura and jump off for a second.
Killers could use Fear monger to prevent you seeing picking survivor and hook, or slug and make more pressure, Solo could not tell the difference. So it takes 3 perk slots. Eruption is a single one and still outclass the whole combo.
Now HUD shows carried survivor so it doesnt work anymore.
-
2 survivors die, down the 3rd will reveal aura for the 4th survivor for 10sec. Its litterally a slugging perk for 4K.
The perk cause less than 9sec per Gen, I would say the average would be 5-6sec regression per Gen at best. I feel the perk is not Gen perk anymore, its more of info one.

Trapper’s are now going to run only swamp offerings so their traps might actually catch someone
Knight map has no grass on usual titles, but there are just exact enough bush to hide trap around loops. 1 single bush on each side of a loop. Make it barely play-able. Same to Haddon field.
Im really scare for Red forest rework, the realm is one of the best grass remaining.

Step one: we need a highly skilled killer & survivor player on the dev team.
Step two : the devs need to be willing to nerf the best things in the game such as SWF Nurse and Blight.
Step three : DBD needs innovative ideas to reforge the current meta so that tunneling gens/survivors is not how every game plays out.
Its not about balance anymore. They will never fix camping/tunneling, weaken SWF .ect
Its about how people should understand the harder players want to win, should play against equal try hard.

Guaranteed 0K too ...
It just means there is a bit more 4K and 3K than 1K and 0K, that's all. As for the draw, it should be around that percentage.
It feels like you are taking that 75% too literally. (As I said that I'm against a number that high, but that's not the point.)
About going for the hatch, assuming there are even people thinking it's worth playing, the chance of survival are probably pretty low because it means to guarantee 3 deaths and then, maybe, have a save. That's way way worse than 75% kill rate.
I'm guessing it would probably be closer to a 87%. kill rate. (50% chance to find the hatch or play the doors after 3 dead)
75% means 75/100. Equal to 3/4. 3 of 4 death every match.
The chance for 4K is 300% higher than 0K. What do you think the rate make survivors want to do Gen?

To add on to this...
Dead Hard is unique in that it gives value even when it doesn't give value. All those little spins you do? You're still buying your team time.
Say the killer waits 7 seconds and you end up miss timing and going down. 7 seconds isn't bad, right? Except, 4 people can run it. 7 becomes 28. You wanna 12 hook? That's 3 chases each. 28 becomes 84.
This is just by WAITING, not even getting hit by the perk.
The only worth of time buy is when 2-3 survivors sit on Gen. How much time the last survivor going to buy for their teammate with epic 28 spin? 0 sec.
-
@Ithiria said:
I hate dead hard
But I have to admit. Killers would seriously regret it if Dead Hard got thrown in the trash and everyone switched to Sprint burst and Lithe.
DH is far superior than Lithe, and have more useful case than SB.
Say it takes you 30sec to hit survivor once.
With SB
- You either takes a little time to chase, after then there is nothing stand between you.
- Or abandon the chase immediately, 0sec wasted.
With Lithe
- If you hit them before vaulting, Lithe is pointless.
- If you dont hit them before vaulting, Lithe is redundant.
With DH
- Spend 30sec to hit once, spend 30sec to
hit twice and end the chasehit DH, at this point you invested too far in the chase, you have to commit
-
A Trapper with Brown addons, no slowdown is far different than a Trapper with Purple/Red addons, quad slowdown and tunneling. Despite both have the same skill.
I faced a Swf twice in a row that 1 match played with Brown addon in Auto Heaven, 4 escape, got laughed. The later match I put them into Racoon with Auto setup addons, 4 kill. I didnt tunnel in both match, same perks, no slowdown. The different were map with better addon, already make the vast different.
And Peanits said "whatever you use, they make sure it works half of the time". As soon as many players (both killers & survivors) understand this, they would realize there is no point of trying hard.

Where are you deriving that 60% number from? That isn't how averages work. That a 40% survival rate means 1.6 Survivors escape on average does not mean the expected result is one guaranteed Survival and someone with a better-than-average chance of getting out. <_>
You still know the chance to get 2nd survivor escape is still higher than death. Which is enough for survivors try playing, is the point.
-
@AnnaEliza365 said:
@C3Tooth I said I wanted a 70% kill rate, which means the 2nd survivor DOES have a chance of surviving.
20% chance to escape? Its not enough to try. Do you play a match against a team knowing you have 20% to win? Or skip lobby?
@DemonDaddy said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3336984#Comment_3336984
For all intent and purpose let's pretend we are taking about a "fair" ideal "fun" match for both sides and May the entity be praised to see that dream.
"Killer is doing well enough that spreading attention was possible and no hooks were consecutive. Survivors have done well enough that gens kept moving despite losing multiple chases."
In this situation, as the last gens are nearly complete, at least one survivor would be on edge as escape is within reach but death a mistake away. The verge of death is the chance of running into the killer before reaching an exit.
But ofcourse that's all completely based in the dream scenario with balance to match.
Survivor can run for 5 Gens and still die to Noed.
The core game design is a huge flaw. 60% kill rate is the perfect number, where 2nd survivor have 60% chance to escape (saying 15%/25% for a survivor).
The chance must be more than 50% to encourage someone to try.
Suicide,DC is what mess up the kill rate, it should be lower than 60% but not too far, though would be enough to give killers further buff. No, I dont tell the suicide DC where survivors make big mistake that there is no other result than a hatch escape, those makes no difference in kill rate. I tell the suicide DC where they're litterally on first hook with 2 Gens left, where 3-4 escape possibly match suddenly lead to 3-4k
-
@RainehDaze said:
If hatch escapes don't count (and BHVR has said they don't, although I don't know if that factors in kill rate), then above 50% for certain. Most 3k's are going to count as a 100% kill rate by that metric.
And 100%+100%+50%+25%+0%/5 is 55%. So, 55%, probably up to 60% or higher kill rate once you factor in suicides on hook and people giving up as soon as things start to snowball even if it could be brought back.
So, if 40% of Survivors get free, that's 1.6 escapes, any individual person should get out about 1/3 games, excluding hatch.
In the long run, that's probably a 3e or 4e about 1/3 to 1/4 games? 2e is pretty rare except as endgame stuff.
Hatch doesnt count win/lose point for Killer, but I dont know if Hatch escape count as escape in stat, it should though.
Admit that there are many suicide/DC that mess up the kill rate. No, I dont tell the suicide DC where survivors make big mistake that there is no other result than a hatch escape, those makes no difference. I tell the suicide DC where they're litterally on first hook with 2 Gens left.
Without those suicide DC, the kill rate would be slightly less than currently, maximum 5% less I think, but enough to have Killers get further buff.
2K 2K 3K match for Killers, I understand the kill rate in those match feels like its not a win for them but tie, for the average kill rate per match should be higher than 50% to feel like winning
The game should be 5v1, the 60% kill rate would make 3 die out of 5 survivors every match, that would make playing killers more satisfied
-
@DemonDaddy said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3336373#Comment_3336373
I suggest that range cause it keeps the 2k standard while also implying that killers have pressured everyone with the 3rd being on the verge of death or escape.
If players can abuse the hatch mechanics for an escape after doing nothing for the team, then there is a problem with the hatch not the survival rate.
The "verge of death" in this game isnt someone survive with their 1% health point, survivor can litterally die in a single hit with Expose/Instant down then camped on hook.
@AnnaEliza365 said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3336714#Comment_3336714
HARD AGREE!! it implies that ask cyber gens probably got done which is incentive for survivors but the killer was able to maintain pressure. It also gives the survivors incentive to try because more than one can survive.
The kill rate 75% litterally mean 2nd survivor have 0% chance to escape...where is the incentive?
60% kill rate means 2nd survivor have 60% chance to escape.
Again, you dont do something that the chance to get better result is less than 50%.

@drsoontm said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3336373#Comment_3336373
Probably because it's not the constant outcome. When playing normally, some matches get more escapes, some less
For me the survivor game has always been about the chases and the jukes (also managing to hide, when appropriate). I don't think someone who plays only to get the hatch would stay for long.
That being said, I'm pretty sure 75% is too high. That is, unless the goal switches from escaping to from having nice interactions (and an appropriate score to show for it)
The outcome is not constant, means there will be guarantee 4k?
3 matches, 2K 3K 4K, average 75% kill rate. 66% of the match end up in 1 hatch escape or 4K. What make you think survivors will do Gen with 33% chance (less than of the time) of getting the 2nd survivor escape?
People dont do thing that they know it will not give them a better result. Killer stop playing and go afk if they know they cant get a kill. Survivor stop playing and DC/suicide if they know the result will be 1 escape through hatch.
That 75% kill rate make that exact psychology. Survivors dont do Gen if the result will be hatch escape. I think alot of people forget how the game become with 2 survivors knowing only 1 can escape, both hide or 1 of them give up so other can hatch escape.
-
@DemonDaddy said:
I think 70-75% would be the sweet spot for engaging matches.
I will tell you one biggest flaw of 70-75% kill rate:
Why should survivors do Gen when in the end, 3 die and 1 escape. While they can achieve the same thing with all hiding waiting for other to die so the last one can hatch escape
