  • Judging by the patch notes, I don't even think they know what works and what doesn't.

    Known Issues

    • Hoarder: The perk currently does not spawn 2 extra chests

    ... but then....

    Other PTB Bug Fixes

    • Fixed an issue that caused the extra chests not to be spawned when using the Hoarder perk

(yes, it's like that in the patch notes https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/kb/articles/270-4-4-0-a-binding-of-kin )

  • Wait at least until they've fixed the locker thing, or just use shards if you must.

Why put time into the forums when there are people like you here? Its directly relevant to the game. You start by telling me to just play survivor, then you say you dont believe me, that im just being out played, and then you tell me to intentionally derank because "the competition is gonna be more your taste, by the look of it".

Why put time into the game when there are people like you playing it?

"Doesnt make your experience the benchmark for anyone else" - except everything im saying is common complaints from high rank killer players, and thats why survivor queues take 5+ minutes to find a game

As I said, you sound exactly like the type of player that gets gotten to too easily by every minor inconvenience, for example by the truth contained in the points I raised. Your post is the case in point. I suggest, unironically, that you try to take DbD less seriously, if a videogame has such a bad impact on your enjoyment. Best of luck.

  • Everyone is gonna have their reasons. Some people, like me for example, don't even try to push for high ranks. That's just where the system ends up putting them as they play.

At least as survivor the games stay fun all the way to rank 1.

Play survivor then? The fact that you don't enjoy high rank killer gameplay doesn't make your experience the benchmark for anyone else.

Also, I most definitely don't believe you at all when you say out of 4 consecutive trials every single survivor (i.e. 16 players and all in SWFs mind you) were disrespectful to you. That's the kind of talk that you hear from people who find toxicity in simply being outplayed.

As killer, you'll always gonna have to multitask and sweat a little. It's the nature of the game being 1v4 and especially it's the nature of the concept of 'top ranks' whenever that happens to work as intended.

If you prefer easier games, then just let the survivors escape after you've hooked them twice. You'll be knocked back to green and yellow ranks, where the competitions is gonna be more to your taste, by the look of it.

oh boy, my Dwelf is gonna get tunneled extra hard this year isn't he....

I often let Dwelves escape. They're often memeing or are good players who don't sweat for the win.

    Make BBQ and Kindred baseline

Add UI indicators to the HUD, always a chase icon/doing a gen/healing/number of times hooked

ya know, QOL things you would expect in most games

Sounds about right. I would also add an emote of some sort or other means for the hooked survivors to signal unequivocally 'I'm being camped'.

  • I might be too old to remember, but wasn't it Freddy who reanimated Jason by posing as his mother in his dreams? I can't remember any outside entity intervention.

dude he plays rank 1 killers so most likely not noob killers duh

Uncharted is very skilled and he could probably loop against any killer. In general, the level of the competition is not that great on that server judging by the opposition that he, Fungoose or Battlemick were getting. No offense intended to the Oceanic region, it's just a consequence of it being a small community, but the only good killers their SWF used to get matched against on the regular were Dweebay and Sir Kracken.

  • Nonsense. Adam is the Chaddest Chad of all Chad survivors.

  • The killer would instantly know if there's no bt because they'd get collision.

Camping is already powerful as it is, it doesn't need a buff.

Yes, it's a legit strat and whatever, but so is bodyblocking then.

That’s not my case or my friends case..

I play on console and I usually have 55-75 ping in dbd

the strange thing is that in other games my ping it’s around 20-45...

i guess dbd don’t have servers too near to Spain..

They have a server in Frankfurt and, iirc, one in Ireland.

  • You won't get in any trouble at all. Nothing you did was even remotely against the rules.

  • Totally not a troll account.

  • It's a badly designed challenge that hopefully will be changed soon. I can give you some tips, though:

    1. Spine chill is not the issue. You need to 99 survivors from a distance, then finish when you're up close. If you try to stalk when you're close, good survivors will notice you because of sound and general awareness. They won't need spine chill for that. If you suspect spine chill, walk to the gen keeping it at the edge of your screen. It won't trigger spine chill. Also try to approach from an unexpected direction. When they leave the gen, they'll run into you.
    2. They've not such a thing. Their only indicator is if they're exposed. They don't know if you're stalking them or how much of their meter is filled.
    3. True, but leaning stalk is already pretty fast. His best addons, not only for the daily but in general as well, are recharge addons. The more often you have your shroud available, the more often you can mark survivors.
  • Because to test DS they can just look at trials without an obsession.

  • This is a fair argument and I can get behind it. I don't know if they have a way to filter the stats for games where players don't have any challenge active. But, even then, I guess those would be far and a few.

  • Variables must be isolated, so they wouls have to do it one perk at a time. The devs can already filter stats for specific situations. In your scenario, DS would be redundant to test, because they can already look at games with no obsession. The first guy gets tunneled to death and that's it.

  • Pro-tip: stop holding W and learn how to run tiles.

If it eventuates that BL gets permanently removed, it’ll be curious to see what changes they make to BoP.

Probably to gain undetectable after 15 seconds in a chase and resets upon hit/losing chase/breaking pallets, etc.

It shouldn't be difficult to re-code the trigger.

    1) Back on topic, I noticed no difference playing as Pig, Legion, Bubba, Plague, Snoozeslinger and Doc.

I also played Blight and Billy, but they shouldn't be affected to begin with given the nature of their powers.

This was at rank 1, for reference.

    2) I'll withold judgement until the end of the experiment, so what I say next is subject to change. I feel that for now it's safe to remove BL 2 and 3.

    3) As I said, as a tentative change, I'd disable BL 2 & 3, maybe with the next chapter update. Then give it until mid-chapter to see how it goes if you want to take it further, revert, etc.

    4) Everything was fine. I wish you the same.

  • It's a problem of tile connection. BL works with very long wall windows aka god windows. It's almost useless in your example. If you want and if can find it, I can post you a clip where I looped an infinite t3 Myers in the middle of pre-update Suffocation Pit with multiple LT walls. BL did nothing for him.

  • BL is inconsequential for SB.

If they save it until you're next to them, simply don't swing. You'll catch up before BL1.

If they use it early, they usually make enough distance that's not worth chasing. And if you go after them anyway, they're far enough that you don't enter chase (so no BL).

  • I've already played Pig and Legion. I felt literally zero difference so far. I sense a knee-jerk reaction in all these threads.

  • Red stain manipulation is a staple of killer play.

The red stain work for or against the killers/survivors.

    Bloodlust is one-sided.

  • Not long ago DS was bugged on some killers and games were tunnelfests. I'm pretty sure the devs collected plenty of data during that period.

  • I don't know about 'everyone'. He's hated because he's still used for hardcore camping and the tantrum meter literally did nothing for that. Remember that pretty preview clip where bhvr showed us Bubba going in a tantrum when camping the basement, as if that marked the end of camping Bubba? Yeah... he can actually down the rescued person through BT now. They managed to buff his camping without removing anything of what he could already do. This from the same team that wanted to removed PH ability to get free hits and, not only he still can, but now he can also spam his m2. There, that's my guess for why Bubba is complained about.

Frankly, the dash should stop once you hit a survivor. Against good survivors you're gonna get multi hits exclusively if you camp and they get stubborn. As a change, it would impact only his camping potential, without touching his chase strength. And he would still get the hook trade anyway.

    My 2 cents.

  • Unless it happens a lot you risk nothing.

Only issue I have with undying is the aura reveal.

Imo thrill of the hunt should have the aura reveal instead

I agree that the aura is the problem.

Regarding Thrill, though, it has a double effect, notification plus slower cleansing, which stacks too and with no cooldowns. I think it fills its niche nicely, it doesn't need changes.

Why shouldn't he expect to get a 4k every game? What's wrong with wanting to win every match? Some people are very competitive and that's what's fun to them so what's wrong with having high expectations of yourself?

They can 'strive' for it. That's perfectly fine. But the shouldn't 'expect' it, because it's simply an unrealistic expectation that sets unrealistic demands further down the ladder. The game is being balanced (work in progress) for 2k2e. Expecting to 4k consistently is not realistic and shouldn't be sold as realistic during discussions.

  • What is the point of clickbaiting with a rethorical question?

You already knew the answer and it's an exercise in futility to discuss about their entitlement when clearly they didn't have a clue about how to play the game.

  • I already played to get a functioning software.

  • The only way of making it easier is to change the definition of Merciless. They won't change the requirement itself i.e. getting a Merciless in order to get Adept, due to constraints on consoles (specifically, because of Sony) which are resistant to allow thropy changes unless they become technically impossible to achieve.

Notice, though, that funnily enough Adept requires a Merciless Victory, which is indeed not a thing anymore. We can only get Merciless Killer, currently. So, in theory we already would have a technically impossible achievement, if it was coded according to the wording.

  • The game is being balanced on 2k2e. The balance condition is by definition the point where neither side won or lose. So, it's a tie/draw.

It isn't that I can't win without facecamping. I can 4k the regular way but why would I do that when this is so much easier?

You would do it the regular way if you enjoyed that more. In the end, the only person who can say what is more fun for you is you.

So, if you enjoy easy 4ks over chase interaction, you do your thing. If done properly, it's very consistent and only very good 4-man swfs will counter it.

I suggest corrupt, noed, bitter murmur and the last one is up to you. Don't over commit to the first chase, bait the unhook and profit. Very low risk-low effort-high reward, but only you can decide if you like it.

  • Nurse has a steeper learning curve. You can play Blight as an m1 killer with mobility if you want to. Nurse doesn't have that luxury.

  • It's completely reasonable, I don't blame you in the slightest. They knew what they were doing and you had no obligation to be their NPC. Same as, for example, the ebony mori iri head huntress who gets pissed because they get 4 insta DC's.

If they wanna win easy, they get exactly what they wished for.

  • I just play them and experiment. Don't set unrealistic expectations for yourself. Go in with the mindset of learning and doing a little better than you did before. Give zero care about the end screen results and focus entirely on the plays you made, what you did well, what wrong and what you can imorovs. If you need, watch some content creators.

Fixating on winning before learning is the shortest path to frustration.

  • This game is successful because of the chase interaction. This is a matter of fact. It was meant to be hide'n'seek, but everybody got bored and the devs embraced looping and the game bloomed whereas the competitors who bet on stealth failed.

Stop trying to change it into a game that it is not. Wanna play hide'n'seek? Go play a hide'n'seek game. But DbD is not that.

    There's seems to be:

    A) a problem of expectations, if you define 'doing well' as double pipping. I don't know where you got that from, even more so considering that the game is constantly being balance around 2k2e, which means double pipping should be rare in the red ranks by design;

    and

    B) of killer fundamentals if you think looping/chasing consists of running around as a headless chicken by holding W, dropping the pallet, rinse'n'reapeat. There's much more to it, such as route planning, resource management, zoning, path optimization on tiles, mindgaming, decision making, etc.

All my killers are prestige 3 and I played all of them at rank 1 to level them up. Some are weaker, some are stronger, but each and every one is playable and sustainable. I literally never had a trial that lasted 3 minutes over my 1.8k hours devotion 8 and a half. That's the kind of hyperbole that exists on this forum and on reddit, but not in the trials.

Accept that you win some and lose some. That's the nature of gaming.

Saying that the game consists of running in circles without thinking is plain rank 20 talk who goes down in 15 seconds as survivor and gets 5-gen run as killer. There's a lot of thinking that goes on during chases. For these reasons, I also seriously question the authenticity of your claim of 2.8k hours, unless you accrued those by leaving the game idle in the campfire screen. That would do the trick.

Considering how tall Myers is in game, he resembles the Rob Zombie version physically. The original Myers was big, but he wasn't, like, a giant.

In all seriousness, it's probably the Halloween (1978) version of Michael Myers. I'd love to see the Halloween 2 bloody mask Myers tho

This is true. But the Entity also boosts the killers' physical stats (Huntress and Plague are NBA prospects). So, the discrepancy might be explained by that.

    AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Nobody who's ever really been at red ranks honestly believes that drivel. Red rank survivors are just as pepega.

There's a huge difference between the rank 4s who bounce up and down between purple and red ranks, hitting the occasional rank 3s, and the actual rank 1s/2s. Of course, there are potatoes even between the latter, generally if they get carried by their SWFs. But that aside, the difference in skills is quite noticeable.

The pip system is forgiving up to purple ranks included. However, in the red ranks players who are unable to pull their weight in a chase typically hit a hard wall and they're mathematically unable to score enough emblems to pip consistently. This is even more true for SoloQ where too many factors that affect pipping are out of your control and lasting in chases is crucial, or otherwise you can even forget about safety pipping.

No, they removed it because everyone was dodging lobbies all the time.

Not mutually exclusive. They said seeing ranks in the lobby was never intended.

  • They purposefully removed that under the pretext that it was a bug.

It would make sense but considering she's always been coded like spaghetti and it feels like there's a timer independent of other things for her blink window so it could like you say just straight up break her if they didn't plan on it lol.

Can you link the video? I'd love to see it.

I'm on mobile right now, but it's in yesterday's VOD. I don't know the timestamp exactly, but you should be able to scroll until a survivor game against a Nurse. That's the one.

Are you sure Charlotte has collision? If so, what exactly stops a potential troll from blocking 1 exit gate as Charlotte and 1 exit gate as Victor?

She has collision. She can even be pallet stunned and that will recall you back to Charlotte. You can't unbind Victor when you're within a certain range of an exit gate. Same for hooked survivors. Idle Victor can be crushed too if you attempt that.

The funny thing is that, at least for hooks, there's a workaround. If you down a survivor, you move Victor near the hook, preferably in a concealed location, and then you hook. Now, you've essentially set your sentinel for when they come for the rescue. Clearly another oversight.
