You can buy PS5 and ask BHVR for keyboard & mouse support in the game, that's all you can get.

They have thousands of hours in the game, true. But those thousands aren't spent on The Twins. Yes they def dedicate a good amount of time to learning them but so can everyone else complaining about them. Hexy (I'm not sure if you watch him but) in particular swaps his killers up per match and often asks the chat what he should play as. Its not like he's ONLY playing Twins and that's why hes good, he plays them on rotation. He'll usually go through the entire killer list before playing another killer twice. And you are right, majority of players are a lot more lax/casual but does that really mean the killer is bad? And Hexy isn't even an insanely good Nurse (he only plays her if he gets $100 donated), he 9/10 times doesn't touch Nurse or Huntress.
I understand that streamers are a special exception but they also prove that the killer is not bad. I mean you can go watch Vods and see how they do with them. Hexy puts so much pressure out with Twins that its incredibly rare if the survivors even get to 3 gens. Also he's just an insanely good killer main and hasn't lost a single match since Jan 1st so he's very smart in what gens to protect/who to focus on, etc.
I just don't agree with people saying she is bad. If other players can excel repeatedly with her (albeit tons of practice), but you got a lot more people voicing how bad she is on the forums, does that make you think the killer is bad or the player is bad/hasn't invested enough time?
If you have 5000 hours in the game it is much easier for you to jump on new killer, because you will do everything perfectly except for some specific things for this killer. And there isn't much of such things with twins - if you are a Demogorgon main with 5000 hours you probably won't notice any difference at all. Most streamers have hard times with playing Blight - and that's because his power requires them to learn completely new things. They slide off trees and bump in random things just like mere mortals, just less often.
Learning curve is also a thing you should consider when determining if killer is bad or not. If 99.9% of players can't play certain killer because skill cap is too high for them, but 0.1% of players is absolutely destroying everyone with this killer - I would say that the killer is problematic and needs some adjustments to make it more friendly for new players and less abusable for veterans. And that's what I call a "bad" killer.
-
@Volcz said:
Pray you don't go up against Otz or Hexy. The people who don't play her or think she is bad, are just weak killers. She's insanely strong in the right person's hands. Hexy in particular, is hella naaaaaaasty playing The Twins. I used to think she was weak but coming across good killer mains is night/day from the people who say she's bad on these forums.
Well, dude, if you need to have 5000 hours in the game to play certain killer - this killer is bad. Like, how many people like that are playing the game, 0.01% of all killer players?
That's the problem with the Twins - they are made for the same people who main Nurse. They suck if you can't keep all survivors injured and then land 4 shreds in a row without Victor being kicked. But it's not like you should be allowed to play this game only if you are a good killer and you are living in the game like streamers do.

Nah, that's just two totems to make one perk work. It isn't hard to cleanse two totems.
Of course, some people will use it, but new Undying won't be meta in any form.

However, that still works that way, even if some people don't realize it. There's no boring killers, but it is boring to realize that you aren't good enough to do something to beat them.

If you lose against them, they are still unfun. If you win - that's fine.

Nah I don't think we should accept it at all as they know it is just terrible.
I said it before and I keep saying it, they should have a talk with ubisoft about it because they had the same problem with rainbow six siege.
They worked about it and found a solution to make it more fair.
There it is now the opposite of dbd, worse ping will have a disadvantage over good pings.
Having a ping of 500 and up for i believe 30s?
The game will kick you out automatically.
If bhvr manage to do that than the game would be much more enjoyable because there are way less bogus hits or hits that should have landed but didn't
They won't turn hit validation into player validation if they have even a slightest bit of sanity.
Their net code probably could be better, however, I really doubt that they will remake it, because it's BHVR, they have 100 3d designers and two programmers hiding in the closet.
-
Even if you and killer both have decent ping killer can hit the air 1 meter behind your back thanks to dedicated servers. Nothing can be done about that, really.
So you better accept that hits in this game will always be moreless unfair. Even with more strict hit validation.
-
Swamp is probably the worst map for him, you have to aim at the center of the trees perfectly to slam.
And yes, that's the reason why Blight sucks.
-
Nah, you are lying! Claudettes don't have feelings, their blood is cold as bush, their progenitor.
-
Yes, Hillbilly is like Nurse now.

Also people DC even before they are downed.
Doctor - DC.
Plague - DC.
Nurse - DC.
Freddy - DC.
Spirit - DCDCDCDCDC

But I'm saying it's a single hook gamemode on a 3 gen setup. So if you get downed and dc there isnt much of a difference other than the killer not having to spend time to use a hook.
Yeah, so why killer would play this mode? He doesn't get points for DC.

Why though?
Noticed your use of an absolute there. How? Did you read my suggestion? Sure dcs might happen but does it matter?
Dunno. But they're having hard times with keeping both sides in appropriate numbers in a single game mode, so no surprise.
I did, but I don't see anything that would prevent people from being dicks. Nothing really can, but if you collect a lot of people who want to just have fun in a single place - everyone who wants to have fun through humiliating other players will be there. Just as people who want to have fun and don't care about others. And yes, it actually matters, because there is little fun when 5 of 6 games end by DC.
-
Multiple game modes with similar design won't happen, because devs don't want to split the playerbase.
Also, any casual mode will instantly turn to shitshow of camping Bubbas and insta-DCs
-
These kill rate stats are pointless for two reasons:
1) Matchmaking is busted. We don't know how many of these games are matches of players of equal skill, and we can't assume that spread of skill is the same because of queue times and inconsistent pipping system.
2) It includes hook suicides and we all know how often it happens. And if someone suicides on hook - the game will probably end with 4k. I'm pretty sure that Freddy and Spirit will lose a lot from their stats if we'll exclude games with hook suicides from the statistics.
So these charts tell us nothing about actual game balance.

Of all the sports, you have to bring up football (I assume soccer), the sport only pussies play? Have you ever watched rougher sports such as ice hockey or boxing / general fighting sports? Now that I think about it, even in Soccer people get disrespected all the time. Remember Materazzi and Zidane? And don't even get me started with Ramos.
In ice hockey, fighting scene and many other sports it's normal to provoke your opponent, it's also a mental fight.
And if I am honest, that's probably the biggest motivator to become better at something - having a person, perhaps the most hated person in your life, as competition. That person pushes you to improve and get better. It forces you to get out of your comfort zone, changing your ways until you're finally able to beat them.
So when I think about it, honestly it sounds like an excuse for weak people. You either accept the fact that you are bad at the game and once you do that, you can enjoy the game without having the pressure of winning all the time - or you learn to play so you're able to punish those that disrespect you. I've been there aswell, that's why I learned how to play.
If soccer is for pussies, what will you say about videogames lol.
This is literally the place for people who want to rest from their miserable reality, only few of them actually come to compete and get better. Some of them are weak, but you aren't boxing right now too.

I'm pretty sure most Survivors have felt the same way then dealing with an inexperienced Killer. It doesn't even have to be meant in an offensive way from your perspective but from the Killers point of view, it can very quickly look like you're purposely making fun of them.
For example when I loop a Pig and when it goes prone I simply leave the loop and watch it charge around the loop, confused as I'm not there anymore. In that moment I have a big smirk on my face as I realize that I can pull such simple mindgames on that player, which gives me opportunities to "let them look bad" for my amusement.
If you haven't experienced such situations, you either haven't played that much DbD or you're lying.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1873749#Comment_1873749
Nope, the only thing I complain about when I get camped or tunneled is the other Survivors that usually do nothing but lurk around the hook in a desperate attempt to unhook me instead of finishing the gens. I never blame Killers when they react in such a manner, I expect it and deserve it. When they camp for no apparent reason, it can happen that I get frustrated but then I simply remind myself that they probably just had a really rough match earlier on and need to release some pressure.
It is fine to feel pleasure when you are outplaying your opponent, but BM'ing? Taunting? Nah. You are not allowed to spit in the face of goalkeeper to taunt him when you are playing football, and similar things are still a very dirty trick when you are playing online games. Sadly, most videogame players don't understand what sportsmanship is and think that it is fine to be a dickhead because their opponent can't kick their ass for what they are saying and doing. But it is a zero sum game - today you are being a dick to your opponent and have fun on him, tomorrow he will be a dick to you and have fun on you, so in the end you'll both eat #########. Each teabagging survivor creates facecamping Bubbas, and each facecamping Bubba breeds teabagging survivors.

I guarantee you that 99,99% of the Survivors that BM Killers do it while being fully aware of the effect is causes on the person controlling the Killer. That's one, perhaps even the biggest motivation to do it, it's a sadistic bullying mentality but it also gives you that feeling of having power and control over someone else.
An egoistic, antisocial and surely unhealthy psychological mindset but that's how our brain works. I'm guilty of it aswell, I enjoy making fun of Killers from time to time but I also apologize for my behaviour when I went too far and my opponent took it more personal than intended.
Point is, the players are fully aware of their inappropriate behaviour, they enjoy being an #########. That's the reason why they do it.
People like you shouldn't play online games.

When I say "The game is balanced" I'm not saying that everything in the game is of equal use / power. That would be a completly ridiculous thing to say.
It's balanced as in, 99% of the matches can be either won or lost depending on the Killers / Survivors skill and playstyles. Both sides have the chance to win and it's up to oneself to prepare accordingly.
In CS:GO you can't expect to win a match without ever purchasing a body armour - beyond ridiculous to call the game "unbalanced" because you lost?!
You have to invest to increase your chances of winning and that's exactly what you're supposed to do in DBD aswell. That's why different Killers, Perks, Offerings, Add-ons and items exist. They ALLOW to you win and make the game balanced but it's up to YOU to utilize them.
Yeah, in terms of killer-survivors balance it is mostly balanced. Some issues are still possible, but that happens in any game.
-
You can't call a game balanced if 90% of perks in this game are a dog poop compared to other 10%.
You can't call a game fair if it has as much bugs and gamedesign BS as DBD does.
I still agree about whining "killer tunneling", "survivors genrush", "swf op", "solo unplayable" etc etc. That's just how the game works, you probably shouldn't play it if these things are pissing you off.
-
DS is a problem for casual killers who want to just chase who they can chase, so they get 4 DS in their face and a 4 man escape. So yes, you should feel sorry for them, because there is no place for casual killers in this game. You have to be competitive or you'll suffer.
However, I disagree with your endgame argument. DS in the endgame is just bullshit if you didn't manage to get rid of it earlier. Survivor gets unhooked, you hit him, if he has BT and he knows where other survivors are opening an exit gate - he's out, not much you can do.
Locker DS is also bullshit. Not because it is strong but because it is a lose-lose situation if you can't afford eating DS in that moment.
-
I use BBQ on Hag for bloodpoints only and I'm perfectly fine with that. Without BBQ bp grind is disgusting.
BTW, post is a bait, OP is a troll.
-
Head nodding is just a way to say "yes" and "no", it can be toxic in some situations but I don't use it in a toxic way personally. If I want to be toxic I'll just hit people after hooking.
-
If someone plays better than you - he is a sweaty tryhard.
If someone plays worse than you - he is a braindead noob.
-
That's server latency, not hitboxes.
-
If that hits you hard, run anti-bully build. Lightborn, Bamboozle, Mad Grit, NOED. It isn't really powerful, but it counters most of bullshit bullysquads can do against you.
-
Definately. Right now new killers are getting released faster than I can learn them anyway.

Yeah I understand that but at the same time you're screwing the experience over other players is also bad design. The approach of the Overwatch developers at Blizzard is pretty cut and dry. In so many words, they're worried about creating a fair and consistent experience for players. So if you live in a very remote part of the world, if you have tons of connection issues that maybe Overwatch isn't the game for you and if it is, you just have to deal with some setbacks related to your connection problems. What about raising the bar for people to queue up as killer? give them warnings that their connection is inconsistent or really bad and is such their experience as a killer may be less than optimal. Survivors have endured years of the killers being favored and everyone's getting tired of it now. It's also devastating for survivors to get lag hit, but the concern is always exclusively about what the killer sees and how their experience is going to feel.
Well, as a man who lives in such remote part of the world, I can say only one thing - if you don't like current hit system, may be YOU should be playing another game?
-
@Nicholas said:
They are really afraid of implementing too much validation because they still want hits to feel snappy for the killer but don't really care about screwing over the survivor. That was apparent in several of their streams. I would love for them to try either in PTB or a weekend, server side hit authority. They could also try connection-based matchmaking but they already have problems with the matchmaker so who knows what that would do to the game. What's the trigger for hit validation? Is it now 499 ms from 500? It still seems extremely generous.
What they want is to don't screw people who live too far from server or can't afford good internet. And DBD server coverage isn't great, you know.

Nope, it is supposed to work only in extreme cases when killer's internet connection breaks and you get hit through the entire map. Preventing hits through windows was just a survivor community's fantasy.

It is working, but it is supposed to let killers with 200ms ping still get hits, so don't expect hits through windows to disappear.

jeez man, ITS A GAME, of course both sides should have fun, what the hell is wrong with you?
how did you play tag? by shooting the person you ran for in the leg so you could get them and claim you are the winner?
how do you play monopoly with your family or friends? do you flip the board in anger when you arnt doing well just so you dont lose and who cares about the other players?
why do you even play ONLINE when you dont care about the people you play against? dear lord we need bots just for people like you.
It is not a cooperative game, where all players should work together and make the game fun for everyone. It is not a fun party game for family and friends either. It is a competitive online pvp game where you care for your own fun and fun of your teammates. You don't care about fun of your opponent. You try to win, whatever that means to you. For killer that means getting kills, mostly.
And about fun... I can't speak for every killer, of course, but I believe that's how it works for many top-rank killers - I don't get any fun in handicapped games. The most fun games for me are the ones where I do my best. Even if that means a short game with weak opponents. So, if I have to choose between my fun and my opponent's fun - I will always choose mine. And I don't think you can blame anyone for that.

Coup De Grace still OP. It should be -5/-10/-15% and 200 bloodpoints for each lunge.

Frustration is not a legit reason to disconnect in any team pvp game. It is even less legit in a game where your reward for a match depends on time you spend in.
