What I Imagine would happen: Survivors leave unhooks until the last minute, pressuring gens even harder.
What would actually happen: Survivors would bum rush the hook and give the killer a free ticket to the tunnel express.
-
Billy already has overheat, a sizeable charge time & bad addons that's more than enough
Nurse has blink fatigue AND blink recharge. Normal nurse is fine, with addons it's slightly less fine.
Wraith has to cloak/uncloak to get mobility/be able to hit people. You could argue that the uncloak time IS the cooldown because you are slowed to a crawl while uncloaking.
Blight has his injection animation after every rush, similiar to Nurse.
Point is, these killers do have 'cooldowns' they're just not massive ones.
-
Killers need strong perks
Franklins is a strong perk (annoying, sure - but strong things tend to be annoying).
Medkits are the strongest items in the game (apart from keys) and franklins is one of few perks that directly counters them.
-
Damn Clown's had 3 full unique sets in the rift
-
Very nice, thanks for sharing Almo
Looks like Outlast
-
Nurse, Blight, Pig
-
They will come back in the mid chapter when the devs believe they've recitifed performance issues causing people to crash
That's my guess
-
If I ever have to handle a flashlight irl for whatever reason, a small monkey in my brain is going to go "click it rapidly, do it"
I will give in to this desire and click.

Hence why you go down with the ship. Canon is not sacred, it exists to be twisted and warped by the fans. That is it's one true purpose I ship Canon with Fanon, but it's a toxic relationship where Fanon won't let canon out of the Yandere basement.
I don't know what half of what you just said means but I'll vote you up anyway

Yeah, but there is a difference.
BVHR got Freddy right on the first time.
Badham? Not to much. Not in terms of visuals or aesthetics, but in terms of balance.

Though, in terms of power freddy is good.
I just wanted to make a bad joke tbh

What makes a map fair though.
Look at a map like Coal Tower for an example of a fair map. Plenty of decent tiles, relatively small map but still big enough that 3 gens aren't unavoidable
-
Amazes me how they've reworked it like two (three?) times and it's still awful
Kinda like Freddy himself

You don't want to know what I imagined when you said that. This is the problem with trying to be platonic in a thread made by a veteran shipper. Because I WILL ship the hooks with the survivors...heck I'll ship The Entity with the survivors. It's not exactly tentacles but it'll do :3
It's all good
they're called ships because they get sunk by canon :^)
-
Also anyone else notice one of Elodie's grunts of pain sounds like the rat squeak from hawkins
-
Some people also say it sounds like Meg
I do hear the resemblence to David though
-
I ship all survivors with the hooks on the map
-
The basement bubba meme was only funny when he was a d tier killer
now that he's actually strong and worth using, it's just not funny unless you're the kind of person who likes to get a rise out of people (aka the worst kinds of people that play this game)
chest defender bubba is still funny though.
-
For the record, I don't think you're insane!
I just think Iron will is strong enough as is and given the inconsistancy of the sounds of survivors in the dying state - I really don't think this is something that would be a good change.
-
The only problem with Iron Will is I'm pretty sure it was designed to be a stealth perk, but it doubles as a chase perk because it robs the killer of a lot of information and other sounds/means of tracking are less reliable (even when they work lol)
I don't mind its current version, both sides do deserve strong perks - but they would never make a perk like iron will today because it has no downside or pre-requirement. It's just injured? Alright here's your perk permanently until you're healthy
-
If I had to, I would do one of two things to it. Not both, one or the other
- injured sounds become replaced with regular breathing, essentially meaning you always sound healthy regardless of actual health state
or
- After becoming injured, after like idk maybe 5, 10 seconds your grunts of pain volume are gradually reduced to zero. This resets after becoming healthy.
-
got 2 killers to p3 + all perks on one of them. Also got my new survivor main to p3 all perks so far
-
Dying on hook is slow and painful. You'd probably feel the life being slowly drained from you
EGC is faster, so you'd be in pain for a lot less time
-
I'm with you on this, not been having the greatest time with soloQ teammates as of late as well.
Feels bad.

So like whispers for the first 30-40 seconds of the game as basekit?
Nah not like Whispers
I mentioned Lethal Pursuer because it gives the killer a good idea of what they need to do/where they need to go first.
-
Here's a random idea
What about some form of Lethal Pursuer basekit? I'm not talking aura reading, it could be something as simple as at the start of the match - the Entity pings all 4 survivor locations to the killer in the form of a 'location' bubble or something
I know people typically don't like it when stealth gets nerfed but, location bubbles are vague enough that they aren't reliable information all the time
-
They made it so Iron will (and other perks that have the same effect) counter Stridor now instead of the other way around
-
Performance might get better but something else will break
Spin the wheel and guess what thing will break this time, round and round we go
-
A pattern I've noticed with survivor cheaters - they will almost always have self care and breakout in their build. I believe that they use these two perks to have access to fast self-healing and slightly faster than normal movement speed. I saw a game where two people were healing each other extremely quickly and there was no perk or item that would've let them do so.
They both had the exact same build too
-
I've been getting the swamp an awful amount too, glad I'm not the only one
-
It's some kind of bug
I believe it's to do with optimisation
I think when you're a certain distance away, objects like chests and such aren't rendered and are 'culled' to use the correct term. My theory is if a survivor opens it while it's 'culled' on your side it doesn't update until you're close enough for it to be rendered again. Which then plays the sound and opens the chest. It only happens that one time, too and never again.
-
My heart goes out to all of you console players out there.
Always getting the short end of the stick.

This got me thinking.
If DBD isnt topped will it ever die as there is no other game like it?
GIant games can and have died before but some still remain alive years after their time. Look at TF2, it's in a bit of a sorry state at the moment but supposedly it can still get like 100k people playing. That's not dead by any stretch
I could see BHVR at some point being like "Yeah, DBD has run its course - we're doing xyz" but officially they've said they're gonna keep supporting the game as long as they can. DBD's their hail mary so I don't expect it to go anywhere anytime soon.
I'm not even sure some giant drama would be enough to kill the game, It'd take a huge chain of events I think
-
Franklin's in general is pretty common these days, I believe people are catching onto its strength at hurting medkit users
-
Not in its lifetime
After DBD's time is over (Whenever that is) possibly
DBD's a bit of a unique case because it's got cross-overs from Films, TV shows and Games all bundled into one package. Other games do 'cross-overs' and cameos usually in the form of cosmetics but usually not taking the characters from the actual source material and essentially adding them to the game's 'World' so to speak.
Smash Bros, Mortal Kombat and Tekken are in a similiar vein although they are fighting games
-
I feel like everyone's running BP-centric builds at the moment
Usually WGLF, exhaustion perk and BT with some other perk thrown in
-
I was gonna make a parody thread called
'The community is killing the community' and it was just going to be a picture of Thanos saying he used the stones to destroy the stones

No they're not. the two scrapped names are a reference to another game
damn
I thought you were referencing the fact a char in DMC5 has two helper characters which are called 'Shadow' and 'Nightmare'
-
@HaunterofShadows said:
Nightmare=Female Shadow=male. Scrapped Names: Six=Female Mono=Male
Is that a devil may cry reference????
also the female zombie is called Misty. don't @ me
-
I like em.
My only complaint with them is when they are around corners and completely silent - if you turn that corner you will almost always get hit and have little time to react. To fix this, I'd probably make them easier to hear from a distance or something.
-
Chris I was very surprised is actually a good representation of his RE1 self. His voice isn't too bad either
Claire is mostly okay, it's the eyes - same with Cybil's legendary, it seems BHVR just can't make people's eyes look right
-
Survivors really hate predator and monstrous shrine, you should run those
I think overwhelming presence is quite hated as well, so run that

STBFL is a lifesaver against SWFs for situations like these.

STBFL is the ultimate counter to hook divers. Person with BT being annoying? Take the free stack from them and make them mend.
Shred through their health states.

Seven bloodpoints
Seven bloodpoints is all I can spare to pay you with.
-
Would like to point out I believe this only started happening after skill checks were added to replace the struggle mechanic
-
All seeing should be nerfed, in my personal opinion. Reducing the range on the aura reading would be a decent way or maybe giving it an entirely different effect altogether. It was more balanced when he didn't have purple windstorm as basekit since an addon slot would have to be spent on it, meaning they couldn't have their cake and eat it - pardon the pun.
Silent bell is completely fine - It's an ultra-rare, it's strong and has a big impact as an UR should. Bone Clapper is arguably strong for a yellow but I wouldn't say it needs changing either.

My issue is people are happy when they acknowledge thing whitout fixing it. That show that the community are happy with the bare minimum so they have no reason to push themself to make the game better
By all means I'm not excusing or playing devil's advocate for the devs
I simply wanted to express my thanks for acknowledging an issue which has plagued my (and presumably many others) gameplay experience for some time. A direct acknowledgement
If it's not actually fixed or made better, you can bet I will be the first to complain!
-
I do not find them funny to be honest.
-
@Alionis said:
We haven't yet seen how those changes will actually play out, praising them for work we've not yet seen the quality of is premature and not deserved.
I'm thankful that these issues are at least being acknowledged and plan to be addressed.
I'm not saying praise for work that hasn't been done, I'm saying that I'm personally thankful that the issues have been recognised instead of ignored like many others.
You're entitled to your opinion, of course.

Sure, under this aspect, it is good. But I am pretty pessimistic on this topic, given the fact that Hit Validation has not really done anything meaningful.
I would say Hit validation has done some small things, mostly taking hits away from killers under certain circumstances. There's a clip where Otz hits someone who was exposed on like the last second and on his screen they went down but the server said they didn't so the survivor was still up and running. Pretty sure it cost him the match lol
It's not hugely noticeable though, I agree.
