Hold your horses, you seem to have overlooked that part: "This is similar to how hit validation works now."
And we all know how bad Hit Validation currently works. So I would not be that excited until I have seen how it works.
Also: They make a paragraph to explain Latency and STILL it is not possible to see the Killers Ping in the Lobby...
I mean it's more so the fact they recognised that these are things that are still happening and are at least trying to address them directly rather than doing what they did before with the umbrella 'hit validation' thing
If it doesn't work, then it doesn't work and it'll be criticised but the issue has at least been addressed and acknowledged directly.

I would say so, because if a teammate makes an honest mistake (which we all do, nobody on any side ever plays perfectly) you shouldn't be berated or punished for it by the people who are meant to help make up for your mistakes.
You also have people who overreact to things you do, I once had someone try to sandbag me to death for hiding in a locker to avoid BBQ. Once. When I was working on a gen while dead on hook and tormented by PH.
Apparently that was worthy enough of 'revenge' in that players eyes
-
It's easier and more convenient than painstakingly deleting -reps
Plus it makes people mad which I find kinda funny. "grr u won't let me see your profile"
-
This animosity has been bubbling for quite a while now
Seems like people have had enough but, who knows

I like them when it's about a thought provoking subject or topic in the game
I dislike them when it's just "is tunnelling/camping/genrush bad"

Rework
Put an end to insidious camping

I think BHVR should focus on creating unique and creatively designed characters with compelling backstories. Whatever traits, characteristics or mannerisms that entails is all fine so long as it's well written and done because the people behind it genuinely love the idea.
At the end of the day, the art and design team of BHVR has always been consistantly good (even if the game itself is in a rough state right now).
-
Spread out from your teammates
Try not to heal unless you can do it quickly or are dead on hook
Don't waste pallets on a legion in their frenzy, you will need those resources later
-
If it's a david I usually just assume they're doing adept so I give them a break/give them a hatch if I can
If it's anyone else I usually just play normally.
If I have one on my team I usually am filled with dread, starting with a disadvantage doesn't instill confidence
-
Broad filter + Some kind of "Context" filter (They said the censor takes into account context... Somehow?)
It's their way of tackling 'toxicity' even though it's just throwing a blanket over it and pretending it's not there.
Autobans on the other hand...That's a step in the opposite direction as well.
-
limited cosmetic options
characters from franchises can't have shard cosmetics so the p3 outfit is all you can get unless you want to forkout money
I also P3 characters from my favourite franchises, just for fun.
-
Corrupted Castiel as a killer would be my guess as to the Killer
-
Or just play Blight

Because they’re not being sensible about being on gens, or the correct side of a gen, to see him coming. That super lunge only benefits Wraith if he’s managed to get the drop on a survivor.
Actually I think you're wrong, it doesn't matter if wraith gets the drop on a survivor or not - they will still constantly cloak and recloak to use the lunge at basically every oppertunity
It's no secret, basically every wraith follows the same principle of hit, recloak, uncloak, super lunge - rinse and repeat
A lot of wraith's don't chase normally, they try to use cloak as much as possible. I mean why wouldn't they right?
-
Personally I'd say no, especially right now given some things
Your money is better spent elsewhere if you ask me but to each their own ofc!
-
Remember when they said they fixed this?
Me too.
-
I seem to get Fractured Cowshed so often these days when I'm playing survivor.
How they managed to not fix such a fundementally broken map is beyond me, it's so unfair for killer

I hope they don't change the ability to kill people with a tombstone. Actually feels like I'm in a horror game or feel like a killer when it's a tombstone match.
Both addons or just the Ultra-rare Tombstone?
The purple one is so busted atm

Oh man you reminded me about that whole dwelf on the shelf or ######### ever they were doing at Christmas. Awful!
I hope you're ready because they're 100% doing it again this year.

I want a killer that turns the game on its head a bit
Nothing like Nurse or Spirit who ignore the game's mechanics but maybe one that messes with the mechanics a little bit
What form that'd take, I have no idea but if you want a really outlandish idea - imagine a killer who could mess with the map's layout or something. It'd never happen but yeah

Probably the person who said "if I de-pip you de-pip so kiss my ass"
Thry then proceeded to DDoS me for multiple hours. I've already gone to the police about someone DDoS'ing me once, I don't really want to do it again.
Was this before the swap to dedicated servers? Or can people still IP grab with dedi-servers
When it was p2p I imagine it was extremely easy to IP grab
-
Apathy isn't the word I'd use
The RE chapter is great, I love basically all of it
Apart from the sheer optimisation neglect, the fact that we finally got a new map only for it to be instanly turned off and an upcoming anniversary event which is quite literally a copy/paste job.
I'd say mild disappointment is the right term to describe it

I get what you're saying but in my opinion "Twitter guy" seems a lot better than what we had before him - which wasn't much in the way of communication...
I disagree, their communication has only gotten worse. All the 'Twitter guy' does is repeat what mods on here say when it comes to actual news.
It's 90% unfunny memes most of the time. Some people don't realise corporate twitters aren't your friends lol
As I'm sure you know, we used to have things like Q&As, semi-consistant responses to threads from CMs and so on. Those were much better than what we have now if you ask me.
-
Damn I lost
Guess I'd better play Stridor Spirit with NOED, Mother Daughter ring and send myself to Dead Dawg Saloon and bleed the survivors out

Yeah it sucks pretty bad. I follow it just in case there is a code or something I should know. And about 5x a day I get some nonsense notification that is relinked bad art, relinked pride art using dbd characters, or some such. I don't care about dbd fan art, would appreciate relevant updates and little else, getting ready to unfollow them
I got nothing against retweeting fan art or the pride stuff they're doing, what bothers me is the constant unfunny memes they put in basically all of their news stuff now. If it was seperate that'd be one thing, but it never is - they always insist on putting really unfunny and outdated stuff on there.
I hate the whole 'twitter guy' thing that other corporate twitters started, all they want to do is sell you a product.
-
At least I'm not the only one who doesn't like current DBD twitter
-
Desperately needed
Won't happen because the developers are too stubborn with their schedule/seriously believe they can cram all the 'health' the game needs into mid chapter patches
-
I would say partially
I also blame their insistence on their schedule and refusing to do a game health chapter
-
run flashbang and blast mine

Slugging as a concept is necessary for Killer gameplay because they simply don't have enough time to 3 hook everyone and still comfortably win the match. If you're playing your absolute hardest and want to win before all the gens get done (which many do) then they will usually slug survivors who aren't worth picking up and hooking (aka someone on 1st hook)
However, just because it's an effective strat - doesn't mean it's exactly healthy. I would rather be hooked than slugged - why? Because the killer has to waste time picking me up, taking me to a hook and then resume what they were doing. If they slug me, they down me then they can immediately begin pressuring others elsewhere, while I'm on the ground doing nothing.
It is also much easier to unhook a survivor than it is to pick someone up off the ground - unhooking takes roughly 2 seconds as opposed to the roughly 16 seconds it takes to pick someone up off the ground (either 16 seconds of healing or like 14 seconds of recovery). Survivors off the hook also have BT, DS, their exhaustion perk refreshed and so on.
There is nothing more frustrating than being slugged for upwards of 20 seconds, getting picked up only to then instantly go down again
-
He's wrong about Doctor, a good doctor is oppressive but certainly not unbeatable and there is counterplay. You can do something against him, even if it's just pre-dropping pallets.
Nemesis I think it's too early to say, his power can be oppressive at pallets/windows but...So is Huntress? I didn't see him complain about her? They legit have the same power with respect to pallets and windows. They're usually death sentences if the killer has a brain
-
Same as last year
Disappointed but not surprised, I'll take solace in the BP though.
Resident Evil was supposed to steal the show and we've all seen how that's turned out.

I don't think you realize how devastating this will be,bookmark this post when you get bullied and then tell me it's still fine
Most killers run ruin these days, so they aren't kicking gens to begin with
Even then, some who also run pop + ruin aren't going to be swayed by the possibility of them having a niche perk
Plus how can people be bullied by it?
-
The blind is the most pointless part of it though
Blinding a killer who's not in chase or picking someone up does basically nothing
-
His Nephew must be really good at killer, damn
Good post though as usual Pulsar.
-
Likely something to do with how the Switch didn't have Springwood at one point?
That'd be my guess
-
My speculation is they only nerfed it because they couldn't figure out a way to make it not delete the Vaccine item
-
I'm not good at DBD and I read this post
Am I getting jailed?
-
Not wrong, it's fundementally broken if you ask me.
-
Just because Nurse takes some time investment to get good with, doesn't make her a healthy addition to the game

@YukariTheAlpaca said:
From what I know and evidence I have gathered from gameplay in Dead By Daylight lead me to believe that DBD uses one raw script that loads every single character and perk asset in the game regardless of if they are being used in the match. This means that, for example, Huntress assets like her hatchets and her point gain events are loaded even if Huntress isn’t present in the match. Having a single long script with every character’s data causes performance issues when a character is called into play later on due to the game having to find their data in the script to call upon. Eventually, performance degrades to such a point that the game may stutter until it finds the correct character data to load into memory. Games with multiple characters usually compile seperate scripts of data that are loaded depending on if said character is in play; this is not the case with Dead By Daylight, since this game was built on “blueprints” made generically by other UE devs; which BHVR has just cut and pasted together into one script. The optimal loading method is to have all killer and survivor perks on one script, and all killer powers on individual scripts that can be called upon when that killer is present. If you notice, depending on what killer you are playing, the game may perform with more stutter or less depending on where the killer’s code is in the script. Also, the game stutters worse depending on what survivor is loaded into the lobby, with the four original survivors with their original clothing causing the least amount of stutter. This terrible one-script method allows hackers to spawn in and use different killer powers regardless of if they are playing a different killer. Normally, spawning in a different character asset not present in that level would crash the game. Look at Left 4 Dead 2, before the "Last Stand" update, spawning the bride witch on a stage she is not present on by default would crash the game.
Makes sense why that infamous hacking ghostface can throw hatchets and those hacking myers players can put RBTs on people
-
My best guess would be next mid-chapter? Which will be mid-july I believe
They weren't in the RE PTB so they clearly aren't ready for that.

I’m almost certain that they will. It wouldn’t make sense if they didn’t, as the portraits look nothing like the survivor models anymore. 😂
That's true!
they just haven't updated Doctor's portrait yet

You think they'll update their portraits as well?

It's scarier, because it's the most realistic. I don't expect hobgoblins to kill me, I expect real humans.
tbh Ghostface is a good example of this trope, and done 100% better than Trickster
Trickster's backstory doesn't even really make much sense.

Ruins the atmosphere if the killers that are chasing you are ugly. You feel gross if ugly monsters are chasing you, instead of actually scared.
As opposed to...
What exactly? Are you saying being chased by a "attractive" character is somehow scary? Nobody and I mean nobody finds trickster scary or intimidating. Especially when his voice acting (despite being well done) is literally anime-tier
Is this a meme post or are you being sincere? I can't tell
-
Why does it matter if the monster trying to kill you and your friends is attractive or not
-
I got a triple surge on (Old) Rotten Fields once
Surge is such an amazing perk sometimes
-
I'm glad to see him back as well, seeing his reactions to some of the newer killers is pretty funny
